A great place!

Bruce Automotive is a great place to get your car worked on. They are friendly, helpful and won't rip you off. I have had to take my car in several times and they always let me know what's going on and don't try to do extra work then…

My dad always used this place and now I know why. I took A car there that could have easily been diagnosed with a complicated problem and I never would have known. Instead $70 later I was out the door with my car running as good as new. I highly appreciate their honesty and straightforwardness.

Honesty is such an amazing business practice these days. We have always been a car dealership family when it comes to service. We've been taking our Honda's to OHare Honda for a decade. As the cars got older, Honda started to charge more and more and come up with more and more problems.
We had one of the cars start to jerk while driving. Honda wanted to rebuild the engine for $4000 and of course, said buying a new car would be easier and money better spent. We took our car to Bruce based on good word of mouth.
Bruce Automotive replaced a clogged oil valve for $78 and the car ran as good as ever.
We haven't taken a car to anyone but Bruce Automotive since. We trust what they tell us and their prices are bottom dollar.
Thank you!

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses.
Always took my car here when I lived in AH.
And I had an issue with my daughter's car recently when I visited. Nice and decent people. Thank You Bruce Automotive!

Very competent and friendly. Good prices too. Not as many auto shops can give you the personal attention that Gary (the owner) can. Been sending our cars here for 20+ years. Highly recommended.

Gary and his crew have great debugging skills that keep our cars in top shape. What's that weird noise? How about that light on the dash? Gary has it figured out.

We've hear good things about Bruce automotive from our neighbors but have always been firm believers in dealership service. We bought 2 of our cars at a local Honda dealer and while under warranty, their service was great. Out of warranty, all the Honda dealer ever did was up-sell and overcharge every little thing. Literally $2000 quote for replacing the stereo for broken buttons, $4000 if we wanted to replace the driver seat because it has a little bit of sway in the seat, and suggested we buy a new car when the engine began to jerk and lose power while driving last year. Bruce automotive is very "short" on the phone: "How can I help you?" You tell them what's wrong, and they'll tell you "just bring it in and we'll look at it." There's no receptionist, appointment times, shuttle service, or guessing at cost of diagnostics etc over the phone. Short, simple, but to the point. If you need a sweet female voice on the other end of the line to make you feel re-assured, you won't get it here. That's just fine by me. We brought in the Honda to Bruce Automotive afraid of needing a new engine rebuild or a new car. Bruce Automotive found a simple stuck oil "switch" of some kind. It was an $85 fix. Honda wouldn't even diagnose the problem for anything less than $80 and they wanted to take apart the engine at a minimum cost of $600. Bruce has now become our go-to shop for any vehicle we have out of warranty. They're honest and affordable. In this day and age, that's the most refreshing thing one could ask for!
