Never going back. Prices are way too high. Especially the labor. Plus they won't diagnose unless you pay them . Let down

What a relief knowing I have a great group of mechanics right nearby! I've been going to Tom and his guys for 5 years for my Jeep Liberty and Dodge Neon (not the best cars lol) and they have kept my rides running smoothly. Prices were always fair and explained in detail. I don't get my oil changed there like the other reviewer because they are mechanics. This isn't exactly a cheap lube shop, they are pro mechanics! If you're in the Addison, villa park, wood dale, Lombard area I highly recommend tom and his staff.

Honest and showed me what was the problem what needs to be done and did a great job even explained to me that a part was unnecessary to replace but it was a good idea to do them together they even offer courtesy transportation

I've brought my cars to Tom's for 5 years. It is a serious relief to know that you have a great mechanic right nearby! Tom and his staff of friendy, pro mechanics always diagnose and repair my car quickly. Prices were alwas fair and explained in detail. If you're in th western suburbs, like villa park, Addison, or Lombard I highly recommend this repair shop!

I cannot say enough about how fantastic Tom and Joe were with my beloved "Ruby". Tom went above and beyond for me and came in way under budget without cutting one corner. I would never let anyone else ever touch my baby. You can't get better service anywhere. Thanks again guys!!!!

So, I once went to a local garage that I had been using for years. They were good until....I had just laid out $3200 for repairs on my husband's car and I brought mine in for a noise emanating from the exhaust. Well, long story short he wanted $2600 to replace a ton of stuff and my main exhaust pipe. Being a little less blond than I appear I asked him if it was possible to perhaps patch the main exhaust. His reply "Well maybe if you brought it too a muffler shop, I am not a muffler shop."
5 minutes later I was on my way to Tom's garage alias: Budget Muffler.
I pulled in, talked to Rick and he had it patched and removed my noisy catalytic converter cover in 20 minutes and had me on my way. Now here comes the real kicker:

That is right $90.
That was 3 years and many car repairs ago and I won't go anywhere else.

Nope, done with this place. I used to come here all the time when Rick was the lead mechanic (and he's mentioned in several reviews) but alas he is no longer with Tom's Garage the place has been terrible. I brought my car in with a quick draining battery. My buddy and I had already diagnosed that there was a drain but we didn't know where. They kept my car for 2 days and then said that there was no draw, just needed a new battery. After charging me a pretty penny for a new battery, my car died again about 3 weeks later. Took it to the dealership this time. Within 30 minutes they had it diagnosed and I got my car back in 1 hour 30 minutes and paid less for that work than for the new battery.
NEVER going back here, such a pain.

Tom's garage is a full service auto mechanic shop. Over the last 5 years Tom and his mechanics have quickly diagnosed and fixed all the problems with my 2 cars. Prices were always fair and explained in detail. I recommend anyone from the Addison, Villa Park, Lombard or other nearby Illinois communities to go see Tom and his friendly, professional staff. I had a real good local auto mechanic for several years until he closed his business (due to health reasons I heard). I needed new brakes and exhaust. Last Saturday I stopped by a few brake and muffler chain stores and then I drove by Tom's Garage. It was almost closing time and I talked to Rick who gave me a verbal estimate. Came back a couple days later to have the work done. After they got the car up to evaluate what needed to be done, everything was explained to me in a very professional way. I was offered a ride home so I wouldn't have to wait several hours and also picked me later in the afternoon. I got real good vibes from Tom the owner and also from Rick. I received a fair price for excellent work. The final total came in lower than the written estimate I received in the morning.

always a great experience. I have gone here for many things, from an oil change to a new timing belt and more. not knowing much about cars I am an easy target for upsells, but they don't try to upsell you, they recommend things you may need without pressuring you into buying anything. good prices, they are always friendly and communicate well.
