I am really glad I found these guys. I had been going to Rusnak before to get my Volvo worked on and they just weren't cutting it.
I came to JK based on their good reviews and man, what a difference! JK is a smaller family run place. They do a fantastic job and always get my car running well. Great customer service. Danny always keeps me updated on what's going on. He is a straight shooter and he tells me everything directly. He shows me physically what's wrong with my car. No BS.
Brought my XC90 in this morning for my regular 90,000 service check up. They had it tuned up in just under 3 hours. No frills no nonsense. I asked them about getting snow chains and they went out of the way to write down my tire size and even recommended some good spots to get a good deal (Amazon! Haha who knew). They also gave me a ride when I needed to get dropped off.
These guys are great, glad to have somebody I can rely on to help take care of my vehicle!

My experience here was so positive that it improved what was otherwise a really shoddy day.
I acquired my first Volvo (a 2000 S70) earlier this year and hadn't found a specialized Volvo shop yet. About a month ago, the front drivers side power window failed in the downward position. It was a Sunday afternoon and I panicked -- a front window cannot be taped up with cardboard if you still intend to drive it and LA isn't the greatest place to park a car that has full internal access. The only places open were the lovely sketchy spots on Gallardo St. I spent $100 to have some guys take over an hour and a half to (what it seemed like) shave off and weld back together the power window motor. It made a weird clicking sound but still went up and down.
To make what is already a long story slightly shorter, yesterday the window stopped rolling back up and all my other windows and sunroof also failed. I was referred to JK by an acquaintance and gave them a call this morning and explained the issue. I swung by later and the master switch assembly was replaced in what seemed like 20 mins from start to finish. It was so freaking quick that I thought they were kidding when they told me it was "all done." They were also total dolls and charged me for parts only, zero labor fees.
Everybody there makes you feel so comfortable and taken care of, and while I waited 2 other customers walked in and were greeted by name. It's clear that they actually care about customer service and understand its importance in bringing repeat business. I'm ecstatic to have found this guys, and will be back for any future needs (although hopefully not anytime soon ;) ). THANK YOU SO MUCH JK VOLVO!!!!!!

For over 15 years I have been bring my 1995 940 to JK for service. Mike has always taken great care of me and my car.
Here are a few things that JK has done for me that really stand out as superb customer service.
Some times it's the little things. When any light bulb goes out, I can give them a call from my cell. They always say "come on over", and 5 minutes later the bulb mas been replaced, and they tell me the cost will be added to my next service.
When ever I am getting ready to go a road trip, I give 'em a call, go in the day before the trip, and while I wait, they check all my fluids, belts, and tires to make sure I have a safe trip.
And while I was recently on one of those trips, my 1995 940 had a unanticipated radiator problem up in Santa Cruz on a Friday morning. I got the phone with Mike, and within 20 minutes he had me connected with a reliable Volvo mechanic in Santa Cruz, and we made it home to Pasadena the same day. The shop I had found couldn't get a replacement part until Monday and because I was not a regular customer, could not get to me until Tuesday. Even long distance, Mike saved my butt.
In the 15 years that I have been taking my car to JK, they only once kept it overnight. They always offer a ride to and from home. And when you get an oil change, they get to your car when you bring it in, so I don't mind waiting for it because the quick turn around time.
Last, but not least, whenever I came in for service, Mike always let me know if the next service was going to be a big one is and if they saw something that would need work the next time in and give me an idea of cost for the big items so I could plan ahead.
I can recommend Mike and JK without hesitation.

Mike and his crew are amazing. I've been helping him with his various IT needs over the years and in that sense alone, he's always been a pleasure to work with. He tells you what he wants, we do it, he pays us, and everybody is happy. He just shoots from the hip and doesn't waste time. I love that!
Now here's where it gets good. I have a Lexus that was making some squeaky noises and it was driving me crazy. In a car that you're still making payments on, being seen and not heard is kind of essential - at least to me. I hate it when my car makes noises - especially because Lexus cars are typically so quiet! Being the pessimist that I am, I start thinking that it's some bearing deep within the bowels of the motor and it's going to cost a small fortune to resolve. My mind was running wild, I tell you!
To make a long story even longer, he comes out and says, "dude, we'll just switch the belts." I'm thinking go for it, even though the noise sounded nothing like any belt squeak I'd ever heard in my 32 years. Sure enough, that's all it was. He gave me a ride to work and picked me up, too. It's bitchin' I love it. I had no idea he worked on Lexus cars but I'm sure glad he does.

Every review I've read about J K is true: these guys are the best in the area, hands down! Don't even waste your time shopping elsewhere.
My wife and I have been going to Rusnak for the past year and have been more than a little disgruntled about the service (it takes them a long time, they charge more then twice as much as they should, and they've never treated us like valued customers), so we decided to shop around a bit. Thanks to Yelp we found J K and don't plan to look back.
These guys were quick, efficient, down to earth, and charged less than half of what Rusnak wanted for a timing belt change. They had our XC90 back to us the same day (it was a pretty big repair) and left us with the impression that they valued our business by treating the vehicle like it were their own.
We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed doing business with J K. We won't even bother going anywhere else. If you're smart, you'll choose these guys!

We began taking our 2001 Volvo wagon to JK Volvo on the recommendation of a friend who'd been a customer for decades. Now a longtime customer myself, I can't say enough good things about Mike and the whole team. They are excellent at their jobs and totally honest about what does and does not need to be fixed and what to anticipate as your car gets older. When I was preparing to take the car on a cross-country trip, Mike went out of his way to make the it not only safe but also as comfortable as it could possibly be. He even threw in a few extras for free, like replacing the cover on the gearshift and fixing the sunroof even after I said I didn't need it! If you want your Volvo to still be running at 200,000 miles JK is the place to take it so you can take good care of it.

My first time here today to have a dashboard light reset. Danny told me to come at a certain time which I did. Within 10 minutes the light was reset--no charge. Mike and Danny at JK Volvo run the best auto shop I've ever worked with. There is NOWHERE else you should take your Volvo. I do a lot of my own work on my car, but when I have aftermarket warranty work or I'm in over my head, I call them right away. Mike is a true mechanic's mechanic. He knows his Volvos!
I always advise my friends, if a mechanic cannot explain clearly what is wrong and how they will try to fix it, then ask more questions or walk away. These guys give clear explanations and aren't afraid to walk you through the problem. Everyone should be so lucky to have this team on their side!

Volvo's heaven, period. Here is the story: I need to program my 98 S70's remote keyless entry which requires a Volvo Scan Tool, I called and visited many, many shops capable of working on Volvo, most of them don't have the VST tool, and whoever has the tool don't have the knowledge of doing it. I called J K, told them about what i want, he knows EXACTLY what I need to get this task performed, its very hard to see mechanic those days have this level of confidence and knowledge because my case is extremely rare, 98 model year is the first year of Volvo's 70 series which shares lots of components from 850 series while different from 99+ (because of Ford's involvement), but everyone at J K knows exactly the distinctiveness of this model year and asked if I had my VGLA code in hand(luckily i do). They even told me on the phone that they can do it FREE OF CHARGE. A month later one Friday morning I came straight to the shop without appointment everybody there knew exactly what I need and helped me with complicated programming in just couple minutes. The gentleman helped me programming (looks like Mark Strong) is such a knowledgeable technician meanwhile maintain a very high moral standard, I hardly seen such people in today's world, especially in the automobile industry. Hope more customers (especially whoever is reading this review now) could realize how hard it is today to find such person and hope everybody could give him more business so that J K's honest straight up shop could carry on forever!

Just had my 2004 S60 serviced here at JK Volvo Specialist again. New oil trap and spark plugs. These guys are exceptional diagnosticians. Always find the problem right away. Didn't even have to leave it overnight. Now, the car runs like new again. My wife and I have been loyal customers here for about 5 years now and thus far we are always very happy with the service. I recently moved to California from Europe and to buy a car have been a quite tricky task for a rockie like me. Fortunately, after a week of car hunting, I went to JK VOLVO. I bought there a Volvo S60 (2004) that had been deeply revised by JK VOLVO before the sale. In one month I did already nearly 1000 miles and I have only great feellings from this experience: Brakes, wheels, tires, not a single noise inside or outside... all runs great and seems like new.... I only have one word to describe both my Volvo and the JK VOLVO: reliable !! I would recommend JK VOLVO to anyone. I'm believe that I have been very lucky to meet people from there. So far so good !

this place does know how to repair Volvos. in general Volvos are expensive to repair due to parts and not so common.
the issue is that they are extremely aware of the rusnak Volvo prices a few blocks away. this is because there are mechanics who works there and let them know when someone will take the Volvo elsewhere. its some sort of price colluding , that rusnak might not be aware off since its their mechanics. (don't get me wrong, rusnack is worst)
but to fix a specific thing, the price was extremely close. so close I was suspicious. I went somewhere else and it was a quarter of what they both said.
so they do know how to fix Volvos but not trustworthy on my book.
and like lawyers and doctors, its a trust thing. I know little about cars so I go by trust..

It's hard to find a place where you feel like trust is a forgone conclusion but these guys really take care of you and always go above and beyond to give you the absolute best service possible. Handled my wife's warranty issues like champs. Really happy we found these guys. My only complaint (joking) is that I wish I could take my Toyota there too! I purchased a gently used 2005 Volvo in Pasadena about a year ago. I live across town and I didn't know any Volvo mechanics in the Pasadena area that could check it out. I took a chance on JK Volvo after some web searching and I was so pleased with them that I've taken my car back multiple times despite the inconvenience of traveling across town to do so. They found some real issues on the car I wanted to buy which allowed me to talk the price down. Needless to say, the seller wasn't too happy and told me a story about a bad experience with JK. I wasn't sure who to believe (I gave the edge to JK based on the clarity of their descriptions to me over the phone and the bits of their findings that I could verify myself). I'm glad I did, since after the repeated good experiences I've had at JK, I can't believe the bad story the seller told me.
These guys have since always done top notch work and they have never tried to upsell me on non-required maintenance (I'm punctual about getting maintenance done when needed anyway, so perhaps I wouldn't notice.) Prices have always felt fair. Mike has a good knowledge of older Volvos, at least back to the P1800 era (the car The Saint drove - Google it), and he and his staff work with a high level knowledge and skill on my more modern 2005 V70. Mike drives a Volvo as his daily driver, and I consider it a mark of good sense that he isn't reluctant to pick parts from a local boneyard, (he found me a replacement floormat for cheap this way). For new parts I believe he uses only genuine Volvo parts.
I just wish that I lived closer or they worked closer.

I looked on Yelp to see where I could bring my wife's Volvo for service without paying dealer prices, I called Independent Volvo first who could not fit me in. Their price for a major service seemed to be reasonable, and definitely cheaper than Rusnak. I ended up calling JK Volvo who was also ranked really high on Yelp, and their prices were inline with Independent, and they could fit me in today! Danny instantly recognized me as he was my service advisor at Rusnak for years, and it was great to work with him again. Near mid-day, Mike the owner calls me and tells me that I need new front rotors and pads, and it was going to cost me as much as the major service that I had originally gone in for. Normally, I would question if the shop was trying to pull a fast one on me, but knowing that Danny was working there, I knew they were being honest that I needed to get the brakes done. When I picked up the car, not only did they give me a complementary car wash, they vacuumed, and shined the tires! It's unfortunate that Murphy's Law is in play here (I need new tires as well, and will go to Costco to get those), but after spending over $1,000 at JK, the car runs great, and I'm sure my wife will appreciate that we could have spent double that at a dealer.

After moving down from Northern California, I took my S60 in for some minor issues. I was told that some of them did not need to be addressed any time soon. They did one of them -- and did not charge me for it! They were super welcoming and friendly.
Needless to say, they became my go-to for anything the car needed. They always have been clean, up front, and non-aggressive in their bids, work, and charges.
They make you feel comfortable all the time, and you know when you go there you will be treated respectfully and professionally all the time.

Was recently referred to Rudy at JK Volvo. This has been one of the best referrals I've ever received! They were simply delightful to work with.
(1) They know Volvos inside and out. Rudy figured out the "mystery problem" that has been ailing my car for ages within seconds of listening to the car run.
(2) They are incredibly kind. I was offered not only a summary of the items to keep an eye on, but informed on what was a priority and what could wait. They took a significant amount of their time to educate me so that I was able to drive away comfortably with peace of mind.
(3) The work was absolutely top-notch. I've had my car for years and NO ONE has taken the type of care with it that JK did.

My usual mechanic, who is a family friend... moved to the Philippines... since then I have been terrified to find a new mechanic that I actually like and trust... So I went to yelp to help me find someone, and JK Volvo was the top pick...

Not everybody has the privilege of knowing a trustworthy, talented, and reasonably priced mechanic. But a lucky few do.
As of last week, I'm a very lucky girl. I've stopped through countless auto repair and maintenance shops in Los Angeles over the last seven years. Finally, I've found a shop with incredible people that watch out for their clients. My 2004 Volvo S60 needed more work than I would ever have thought I could deal with. Let's see... I'll skip over the details and just point out that they handled all of it and left me with a bit of savings in my budget.
It gets better. They did more than just repair the issues I had come concerned with. They checked the entire car over for safety and well-being. Of the few items that would need attention soon, there were only two left. That's because they fixed the others for me. The car is running better than I thought would be possible and I'm very, very excited to go forward knowing that whenever I need car maintenance or repair Rudy and his partners will have my back.

When I had my car repaired there they were very honest and gave me a number of options to try and fit my budget.
If I get another Volvo, I'm going right back to them.
They're experts in ALL Volvo from older RWD Volvos (140, 240, 740, 940, 960) to the newer FWD Volvos.

They did a good job at fixing a problem I had, but I am a hit annoyed that they tried to scare me into bringing my car back for a timing belt change long before the recommended period to change it. I do admit that maybe they did not know, but my 2006 volvo s40 has an engine code 39 on the vin, which means it is a PZEV car. The recommended change for these cars is 150000 miles, not 130000 miles.
I am giving the benefit of the doubt that they had not checked the vin number, but refuse to believe they do not know this difference, especially with all the good reviews. Unfortunately they did not do the work to repair the problem I was having (engine side mount needs to be replaced) and instead grouped it in with a quote for the timing belt change, which is a considerable difference in cost. Is say 2.5 stars as they were very nice and simply may have not known about the difference in the vin engine codes.

I took my car to (2) other places to fix a rear seat that would retract. Other independent guys would not touch it, told me to goto a body shop. Volvo dealer wanted big bucks (no surprise).
Mike at JK told me over the phone he knew exactly what was wrong and he could fix it. I know he is a straight-shooter, because I took that seat apart twice, attempting to fix it.
Since then, he has become our choice for repair on our Volvo.

I found a repair shop for my 2008 c30! I've brought it to both the Culver CIty and the Santa Monica dealerships for regular maintenance; I've never had any bad experiences at either, but as expected they are pretty pricey for repairs. It was during its scheduled maintenance a few months ago that I found out that my little Volvo needed a few repairs, nothing huge but the quote I was given from the dealership was pretty costly.
I searched yelp and found JK Volvo, read some pretty great reviews and decided to check it out. I talked to Mike and his quote was much less and they could take it in right away. I have no complaints! They were great, the price was very reasonable, and everyone that works here is really nice. They even offered a loaner car!
I'm also excited because it's so much more convenient for me, living in downtown LA, than driving all the way out to Santa Monica or Culver City. I definitely plan to bring my car back here for its scheduled maintenance and any future repairs.

I am updating my review of Jk Volvo on Yelp, because I can't say enough good things about these guys. I have now been here two times and the service is simply outstanding. It is really good feeling when you know your mechanic is on your side and not trying to rip you off.

I needed to get my car serviced and Mike and Rudy were very helpful! They were kind enough to discuss with me what needed to be done to my car (I'm not too familiar with automotive terms, issues, areas of concern, etc) and they really broke it down for me. Great service - very responsible, honest and fair prices.
Just took my 2008 Volvo there after first getting a 1200$ estimate from local Volvo dealership service dept.
Car was having trouble starting and had not been serviced in two years or so.
JK was able to do service and fix "starting" problem for less than 400$ - so that is less than one-third of dealer estimate - in one day!
Car is running great. Starts quickly and drives like new.
On personal side, they were a pleasure to deal with - respectful/ actually listened/ discussed options with me/ took my concerns into account.
This is especially important as being female, mechanics often don;t bother to listen or take what I say seriously, thinking I do not know about cars or mechanics. Not so here where we had a few conversations about most cost effective repairs which ended up saving me over 800$!

I started taking my Volvo Cross Country to JK Volvo in about 2006 after my frustrations with the local Volvo dealer's service department reached a breaking point. It was a good thing that I did because Mike and his service staff found about $3,000 in warranty work that had not been performed by the dealer even though I had been taking the car to them for regular oil changes, etc. Mike took the car over to the dealer and they performed the necessary warranty work. This time, the dealer's incompetence paid off for me since they didn't check the warranty dates and they had performed the work a few weeks after it expired. JK Volvo literally saved me $3,000.
Since then, I've taken the Cross Country to Mike and his staff for all maintenance work and they have done a great job. Since my vehicle is now an older model with AWD, the latest repair was a bit expensive but I know it would have cost a lot more at the dealer. And, the car runs like it's brand new.
I would encourage any Volvo owner in the area to take their vehicle to JK Volvo. They're the best.

JK Volvo has been servicing our two Volvos for 12 years. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and can quickly diagnose problems based on a few symptoms. He has resolved problems for me over the phone on several occasions. JK has been in business for decades, a testament to the quality of its service. I even had JK fix a transmission problem while the car was still under warranty because the local dealership couldn't correct a problem after two attempts. Can't recommend them highly enough

I have always had excellent service from Mike and his mechanics! I have a been a customer for 2 years, and each experience has been good, and even better - with a discount, which, for this struggling student, was a real blessing. Towards the end, my 2001 S40 with 165,000+ miles was really struggling (poor old car) and it seemed as if I was going to see the guys every other week. Each time, they greeted me with a smile and helped me fix the latest problem, sometimes even for free. Mike and Danny and all the mechanics are very knowledgeable, professional, and super nice. Even when the cost feels like it's going to break the bank, it is at least 2x cheaper than the dealership, and Mike is always straight about what needs to be fixed immediately and what can wait. I would really recommend JK Specialists for all your Volvo repairs.

I was experiencing problems with my car and went from dealership to dealership. As my frustration grew, I decided to yelp a Volvo specialist. Well, J K Volvo came up. When I called I was told to come on in. I can't explain how comfortable I felt knowing they were helping me and not giving me the runaround. For six months no one could give me a straight answer about my coolant leak, but the guys at J K figured it out in 5 minutes, and showed me exactly where it was. Ron, Mike and Rudy were extremely helpful and kind. I highly recommend them to family, friends and YOU!

Found these guys when we were shopping for a used v70 wagon. We didn't buy theirs, but they were nice to deal with when they showed us the car.
After we bought a different one (with less miles) we brought it there to have it serviced. This family run business always did an outstanding job for us. Yes, it's expensive to maintain these cars, but they always were upfront, and honest. They got our warranty work done for free at the dealer when possible (even bringing it over there for us).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to Volvo owners. It's not often we find a good mechanic, and this is one we'll have for the life of our wagon.

The ONLY people I let work on my car! The ONLY place I trust ... period ... they were recommended to me by Don Nicholson, the owner of Elevate (the Volvo tuning super company) ... they quickly became "friends", not just a Volvo repair shop ... I'm super neurotic about my car and they are more than accommodating to my needs ... I'd be lost without them ... and am forever indebted ... My extended warranty expired and I had to find another repair shop since the dealership is too expensive. I read some good things on here about JK so I decided to stop by. Mike took care of my car for half the price the dealership wanted.
They did the 105k timing belt service and fixed the white smoke from the tailpipe. My car run so much better with the new Turbo. Thanks jk for the a+++++ service. They now have a new customer.

I moved back to the Bay Area about 8 months ago and Mike over at JK is still helping me! I have been working on my own car with a friend who is a general mechanic and we were having trouble figuring out which thermostat to buy so I called up JK and asked Mike, after a couple of years as a customer there he knows what he did and didn't do to my car, just off the top of his head. He gave me exactly what information I needed, plus a little hint on a couple of other things that might be the cause of the problem.
I wish I was still in Pasadena though because they always treated me well and gave my car the best service possible with fantastic prices, and I wouldn't be spending my afternoons and weekends shoulder deep in my car.
So here's the quick breakdown on why this place is so great:
1) Respect. They give it which is why they get it.
2) Fairness/Consideration. They don't try to do the most expensive time-consuming thing first.
3) Experience. This shop has been open since the 1960's and they use that as well as updated computer knowledge to really fix your car, not just check and see what codes pop up.

I have been taking my vehicle to the local dealership while my vehicle was still under warranty. The dealership tried to sell me things that the vehicle did not need urgently yet made it seem like my car was unsafe. All in all, the dealership wanted to charge me $3500 to make repairs. Mike and his staff literally saved me almost $1500 and made all the repairs necessary. His staff are volvo certified technicians that are trained up to 2012 year model cars. They were even able to perform software download to my vehicle to program it just like the dealership. They have all the factory diagnostic equipment and all the special tools. Now if I could only find some one like them to repair my toyota I will be a happy camper.
Thanks Mike and JK Volvo for all your help. You guys are great. If you drive a Volvo and are looking for one of the best shops ever- take it to Mike and his staff at JK Volvo. Mike is the owner that took over the business from his father who started JK Volvo in 1969- they are the only original volvo repair shop in pasadena to be in business for this long. Its a family owned business and they treat you and your car like family. They really do care.

My friends thought I was crazy driving from the South Bay to have Mike and the team do a pre-purchase inspection of a XC90 I was looking to purchase..... Best decision I ever made. I had every intention that day of buying the vehicle, but wanted to see if the price was too good to be true at the dealer. Yep, it was! They found a problem with the transmission, front axle, warranty and battery to name a few. Saved me thousands from a potential bad purchase and more importantly the headache. I would absolutely recommend this shop if your in the LA area with a Volvo!

I am in the market for a new (used) car. I was looking at a 2001 Volvo V70 that was on sale down the street at Crown City Motors. I asked the sales guy there if I could take it to a mechanic. The night before I Google'd Volvo mechanics in the area and JK came up with a couple of good reviews (on a different website), so I thought this would be a good place to take a Volvo to get checked out before I bought it.
So I took the 2001 V70 to Mike at JK and he was very honest with me and gave me great advice on the car. He even took a quick look under the hood, told me what was wrong, and didn't even charge me anything for it. They usually charge $60 for a diagnostic. I answered all my questions honestly and was very patient with me.
If I end up buying a Volvo, I will definitely take it to JK Volvo Specialists to have it serviced. Thanks Mike!

So these guys work on Mini coopers too! I received a recommendation from a friend after my clutch went out at a shockingly early 37000 miles and certainly did not want to pay dealer labor. These guys did the job for a great price, within the time promised and were very communicative throughout the process. They went above and beyond in order to accommodate my schedule and I am very satisfied with the work preformed.

i took my 2001 S40 to the dealership to get it checked out and they wanted to charge me $3000 to fix it. My car is definitely not worth that much. However, I took it to Mike at J K Volvo and I was definitely impressed with the quality of service I got while I was there.
Mike rechecked everything and gave me a quote that was half the amount than the dealership wanted to charge me, plus he gave me 10% off the entire bill. He's knowledgeable and friendly and he's been working on Volvos for at least 20 years. He even gave me a ride to my job and picked me up when he was finished with the car.
Now I don't know if he is the cheapest around, but he is definitely worth a little extra. I will definitely be taking my car back when I need service, which is good because now, a week later, my check engine light has turned on so I took my car back to Mike to see.
He let me know what the problem was, but he also knows that I am really strapped for cash in this time (horrible recession), so he waived my diagnosis fee and let me know that I could come in when I did have money and he would help me find the cheapest solution to my problem.

JK VOLVO Pasadena is the best Volvo shop I could ever take my car too .
They are all very professional and they know exactly what they'r doing .
I needed some computer work on my car and JK Volvo have all the equipment and software, in order to fix or diagnose computer problems , and they are the only independent shop that I found that capable of doing that .
Prices are less then the dealer and as low as any other Volvo shop around.
They are not trying to rip you off !
I really trust the staff at JK Volvo , great mechanics , very loyal and they all very friendly as people ,so you feel good every time you visit there .
Also the shop is amazingly clean , so basicly other shops have so much to learn .
I use to deal with All kinds of Volvo mechanics which I find them all
Very expensive and unprofessional , and not fun to deal With , till the past 3 years that I am with JK Volvo . I live in Beverly hills , and I am
Driving to Pasadena very time I have a car issues .

Mike at JK Volvo sold my elderly mother a 1988 Volvo 240 wagon. Over the course of the 7 year ownership he charged her nearly $15,000 in service including 3 OEM Bosch Coils over the course of 1.5 years (not a part that needs replacement that often). I believe that this repair shop took advantage of her and I would recommend finding another mechanic.
