My car sustained minor damage when the front end moved over a parking block where the metal rods were protruding out of the cement block. I didn't notice the protruding rods, and one of the rods snagged and pulled off a part of the plastic protective undercarriage and corner of the bumper of my car as I backed out of the parking spot. I had been dealing with the lose front bumper for several months thinking the only solution was a new bumper/paint/etc..ie more money than I wanted to spend.
Fast forward to seeing a couple of Yelp reviews from people I trust, I decided to stop by this place to see what what could be done. I stopped by at 8AM on a Friday, and Bobby came over to see what he could do. He said it was a simple fix, had me pull into the bay, and I was out of there with a re-attached bumper in less than 15 minutes and only $20 out.
Being a woman and dealing with automotive issues is never fun, but I felt comfortable and felt like a wasn't being scammed or being overcharged. If I have any other car body issues, I will stop be here first!

I decided to check this place out after reading a fellow Yelper's great review. It was close to my house and approved by a Yelper I trust (Thanks Caleigh!). This is never one of those places you never want to have to go. But life isn't always perfect.
Scenario: With a narrow driveway, we sometimes have to park a car on the street. In this case, it was an unfortunate incident that after taking my car to the hardware store, my wife's car was out there. Long story short, a neighbor swiped it just a tad. It had the most obscure denting, but it did chip off a bit of the paint. The mark was not too noticeable, but we were in fear of rust with the metal being exposed.
Fast forward to my trip to ICC, Robert was friendly and helpful. We were curious if insurance were to get involved, what the damage would be. He was happy to give a quote and also give a quote on a simple paint touch up. Since the barely noticeable dent went across a couple of panels, the price for a full repair was pretty steep. And considering all factors and talking to the neighbor, he agreed to pay for the touch up so we wouldn't have to get insurance involved. A quick call and Robert was happy to have me come any time for his estimated $50 touch up that would only take about 15 minutes.
After his quick and quality work, everything looked great. And even after I told him the neighbor would be paying, he still only charged me $20 since he had some of the paint already mixed up. That is the honest type of person I like to see in a body shop. I personally hope that I never have to go back to see him. But if I do, or hear of someone looking for a recommendation, this is where I will send them. Thanks Robert!

Mommy Fail: driving out of the garage with a door open!!
I called a collision center close by to our home in Cahaba Heights and they said they would help me get the door shut, but the soonest they could give me an estimate was in 6 days...
When I called Bobby, he told me to come in sometime before 3 and he would do what he could to help. I arrived 30 minutes later, he came out and fixed the door so that I don't have to buy a new door. I had snapped the hinge that keeps the door from blowing open, so I'll have to be careful when the door is open for the next few days. He said the piece should arrive by Monday (it's Friday) and he will let me know to come in ASAP.
The other guy had told me that worst case scenario, replacing the door could go as high as $3500. Bobby estimates this repair will be less than $250. Seriously, this laughable experience can stay laughable!! If it had been $3500, I would be so insanely mad at myself!!
Thank you Bobby!! Birmingham peeps, if you need an auto collision fix, don't bypass Bobby's Irondale Collision Center unless you want to make more monumental mistakes!!!
