I was driving home from visiting family when a freak accident happened.
An easy repair they said. "i do this all the time myself" well, after 8 hours with an outrageous charge they ended not being able to fix my car, and breaking other parts in the process.

Go elsewhere. They referred me to an incompetent towing service to get my car there. They've now had my car 3 weeks and still haven't figured out what's wrong. Every time I drive by, my car is still sitting in the same spot. When I call, they say they're busy with it and promise to call back. I'll wait 3 days with no calls. Unprofessional, rude, and probably trying to scam me. I'll update if/when I finally finish with them.

**Very Long Post- Worth the read** As some of you may know Wayne Ragens and I car broke down at 24th and Meridian heading downtown to take Gracelyn on walk at the Canal. We Called Poorman's towing and Repair to come tow our car and make the repairs. The ball joint on the rear passenger tire had broken and the driver side was about to break as well. They did tremendously with the tow! We called and they were out to get within a half hour. Then they told us to call the shop and pay for the tow over the phone since we were paying with credit card. No big deal and the driver was excellent! The tow cost $75 and this place was supposed to be open 24/7/365. Which was great. We didn't expect it to be done Thursday as it was 6 pm when they picked it up. We waited Friday for a call and assumed they were busy. Called Friday evening and they said ours would be started Saturday and they would call us with a quote when they started.Saturday rolls around and still nothing so we call them to get an estimate on the repair (No company can start a repair without you approving the cost). They said the mechanic was out of the shop and would call us back when he got back in later that evening. Saturday around 8pm we called again and they still had no idea what was going on and would call us Sunday morning. Sunday we still hadn't heard anything so we called again around noon. They once again said they would talk to the mechanic and call us back with an estimate. We waited a few more hours then called Sunday around 5. Spoke to another person whom told us all this was unacceptable and was calling the owner and would personally call me back to tell me what was going on. And wouldn't you know it they never called. Monday I call at 8 am. They then proceed to tell me there hasn't been a mechanic at the shop since TUESDAY and they didn't know when he would be back. I was livid. They then proceeded to tell me that they would tow our car anywhere for free because of all the issues and that it would be in Noblesville by 5pm. The young lady I spoke to the. Tried to tell she hadn't ever spoke to me or this would have been taken care of. I then called her out because she was the one who said she would personally call me after calling the owner. 3 pm rolls around and the young lady calls me back to tell me our location for drop off closed at 5 so I told her what to do with keys when they dropped it off. She called me again at 515 to tell me the car had not left the shop yet because they got busy, which is understandable, and that she would leave instructions for the incoming shift. 8pm rolls around and the next shift calls to tell me that they now will only tow our car 5 miles for free. The tow we needed was 21 miles and had already been agreed to that morning. So I explained the situation to her and she said she was going to call the owner and verify. She called back and said the owner wouldn't approve it now. I asked for the owners number so I could call myself. The first number that was given didn't work. So we called back and complained more. The second number they gave me worked and we proceeded to call her. The lady we called cursed at us over the phone and flat out told us they were not towing our vehicle any more than 5 miles So we got the police involved and Fox 59 is doing a story on this. There was no reason for us to be treated the way we were. Tuesday morning we called our mechanic to tow it which cost us $160 because it was so far away. Luckily the car is now in Noblesville and being taken care of. Never trust PoorMans Towing and Repair on Michigan Rd!

Towing service was fine, but I did notice a panel on my front passenger side took a little damage. After they received my vehicle, they couldn't tell me how long it would take to fix it. They kept telling me the next day and it ended up taking 5 days to fix something that should have taken at most one hour. I had to call them numerous times throughout that period to figure out what was going on. When I called they were not able to give me pricing for the work they had done. When I finally picked up my vehicle, they never even gave it a test drive or checked other components that could have been damaged from the original issue. So on my first drive I immediately noticed there was an issue, my CV Axle was broken! They had no idea until I drove it! Never again.

This is one of the worst car repair places I've ever been to. The people in this company come off as nice people but professionally they are not dependable whatsoever, specifically the owner. They kept extending the due date and kept asked for more money for parts AFTER giving the full price from the overall diagnosis as to what was wrong with the car. The car that I brought in was a 2002 Ford expedition and I wanted a tune up/repair. When they kept extending the due date the best excuse the owner could come up with is that his professional hired mechanics were "afraid of it because the work was complicated". After all of the waiting and extra charges of money my car still had problems only two days after I finally got it out of Poor Man's, problems they claimed to fix. I'm a very lenient person and it bothers me to write a nasty review about any company but this was my experience, these people might be decent for a tire or oil change but anything complex that requires real professionals, they can't be trusted.

VERY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! My fianc bring his 2002 Ford Expedition as well to Poor Man's because he had a gas line that busted. His car sat in the same spot for 3 weeks. Not once, out of those 3 weeks, did they give us a call with any updates. Each time, myself or my fianc called. They quoted us a price of $350. We paid the full price upfront and was told on that Friday that they will start working on the truck and it will be ready on A Tuesday. When Tuesday came around, I rode pass their shop and it was STILL SITTING IN THE SAME SPOT. I told my fianc and he called them and they stated that they were running behind and they will start that day. Wednesday morning, my fianc got a call from an actual EMPLOYEE stating that the company is unprofessional and suggested we get our money back because the part has not been ordered, after sitting for 3 wks. I went that afternoon for a refund because our truck was NEVER touched and they had the nerve to tell us we had to wait 15 to 30 days to get our money back. We are still waiting on our money... If you want air in your tire, or just a tire change, this is the spot to go. However, I would not trust them with anything else. Their communication skills are terrible. Specifically the owner.
