I started going to Larry Johnson's Buckhead Auto Center over a couple of years ago when I was in graduate school and on a tight budget. I needed to find a mechanic who would not overcharge me, so I did my research and read reviews for different mechanics in Atlanta. My most recent experience only affirmed my high opinion of Larry and Buckhead Auto: A tree fell on my car (crazy, I know), and I drove it to the mechanic closest to my house for fear it would not make it any farther. That mechanic gave me a quote that was well outside of my budget. I called Buckhead Auto for advice, and they gave me a much more affordable quote. I got my vehicle to Buckhead Auto, although I got lost along the way as they have moved locations. Hiram stayed on the phone with me to direct me there, and he was kind enough to come stand on Peachtree Road and wave so I would see where the new shop location was. Josh, one of the mechanics, immediately came out to asses my car and speak with me about what had happened. I spoke with Larry on the phone a few days later, and he advised me that because of the high mileage on my car, how old it was, and the damage done by the tree, that I should consider getting a new car. He of course would be happy to fix my car if that is what I wanted, but he told me if I were his niece, he would advise me to get a newer, safer car. He answered my questions, offered advice, and kept my car there for a week and half while I thought out all of my options. He could have made a lot of money off of me by fixing my car, but instead he was honest. I followed his advice, and I traded in what was left of my old for a new car. Despite the time the spent assessing my vehicle and the time he spent advising me, Larry did not charge me for anything. I feel confident and safe in my new vehicle, and I am glad I already know what mechanic I will go to with it! Larry Buckhead Auto Center is not a place where you feel pampered or get to sit in a luxury waiting area, but it is a place where you will get the best rates and will be treated with honesty. Thank you for another GREAT experience. Everytime I bring my car here, I'm always pleasantly surprised with the service. It's great to be able to go to get my car fixed, and know that not only will it get done right, but that they will only suggest things my car actually needs. I will absolutely be back.

My goodness!!! how can such a scamming and horrible business like this have so many positive feedbacks? They must gave themselves good reviews to scam their customers. My car was perfectly fine before I brought it in for a oil change. There were leaks and it jerked every time I shifted gear. Brought it back and they wouldn't check it and said I left my defrost on which I didn't. They messed with the fuel sensor to create an engine check light on, said it needs to be fixed by replacing with new sensors, and wanted to charge a very stiff price for it. Brought my car to the dealership 2 days later, they fixed for half price, and said the mechanic changed your oil either was a bad mechanic or he did it on purpose for the leakage and false computer error of the sensors. Please stay away and save money!!!!!!!!!

Stay away!! They quoted me ...

Stay away!! They quoted me for parts and labor that were not needed! The unnecessary parts were also much more expensive than they would normally cost, I mentioned that another repair shop would do the work for half what they've quoted me and they right away drop their price by $300. It was still too much and I took my car somewhere else. That's when I found that, that a 1/3 of repair quoted were not needed. They are running a big scam! Stay away!

The worst company in Georgia! ...

The worst company in Georgia! They are nothing but incompetent liars. And the owner Larry is the worst. He is more concerned with talking and joking with people than actually getting any work done and dealing with customers. Not only does it take forever to even get someone to pick up the phone when you call but then all you get is crap. I have been lied to more times than I can count and told I need expensive parts that I dont actually need. I called the day the part was supposed to be in and got the run around all day. First I talked to Larry who had to go see if the part was in and said he would call me back. and hour later I call back and talk to someone and they tell me Larry is trying to track down the part and they will call me soon. 4 HOURS later I call and am told Larry left for the day and didnt leave any notes about the part or my car and that someone will call me in the morning to update me. Are you freaking kidding me!!!Then they FINALLY get the part in and its no good, but no one calls to tell me until i go to pick up my car. I took my car to the Goodyear on Cumberland Parkway (who are awesome!!) and they told me that that is definitely not the part I need and the one i do need is 1/3 as expensive. They make you wait forever and then dont even come and tell you whats going on. This is the worst service and company I have ever dealt with. I will never ever go back and warn anyone who goes to beware and get a second opinion!!! The only reason I went to them in the first place is because Michael who works next door who sold me my car promised that they were the best. Well Michael turned out to be a cheap lying ******* and is the reason I am in this mess to begin with! Dont Ever buy a car from him and dont ever go to Buckhead Auto.

Jason has been taking great care of my BMW for years. The company he used to work for went out of business and I was delighted to finally find him at Roock. He's an excellent mechanic who really knows his way around a Bimmer and who won't try to sell you a repair that you don't need. (This shouldn't be unusual but, unfortunately, it is.) I've also found Fabian, the owner, to be a straight shooter and not at all disingenuous and misleading as stated by another reviewer. I'm not a Porsche owner so I cannot speak to their abilities in that area but if you're looking for a BMW mechanic I can wholeheartedly recommend Roock.

I wrote my original review after a very favorable experience with Fabian Roock. My subsequent tranasctions were awful. The work was sloppily done, weeks later than promised, and Fabian is both disingenuous and misleading. I simply cannot recommend him and I regret writing the previous review and apologize to anyone who chose to have work done there based on my comments.
This was brought to my attention today by somene, who rather than disagreeing, chose to insult me. Despite their method of showing me I had made a mistake they are correct. Fabian is not someone you want to work on your Porsche.

Fabian does a good job with his Porsche service. So far, I've been happy with his service and would recommend him to anyone looking for affordable Porsche - or any brand of car - service. Jason has done oil and brake changes on my 2010 Volvo and I've been able to get in and out without too much difficulty.

Had my car for over a month and did not respond to phone calls or e-mails. At one point, their phone was disconnected! When I actually met with them, they seemed nice and helpful, but the customer service was awful. I was not certain I would actually get my car back for a good bit. Just avoid.

Easily the most disappointing experience I've ever had with a company. I began calling this business on Monday, March 30th in order to make an appointment for the following Friday, April 3rd. I called several times a day and left multiple messages. I even sent an email through their company website. No response to anything. Finally on Thursday, April 2nd, during my 7th (SEVENTH) call that particular day Larry answered the phone. Larry told me there's a slight chance they could attempt to look at my car the next day. He even mentioned it was short notice of me to want an oil change the following day. I'd been calling, leaving voice mails, and email since MONDAY!! He didn't seem to care about that and suggested I leave my car at his shop Friday morning and "hopefully" they'd get to it before close of business. Larry made sure to add the disclaimer that they might not complete the oil change even if I left the car there all day. He expects me to leave my car at his shop, have someone pick me up and take me home, only to then come back 8-9 hours later and there be a darn good chance my car wouldn't have been touched?! Is this place serious? I called this morning, Friday the 3rd of April, to see if Larry could pinpoint a better time that maybe I could bring the car in and wait. Heck I'd even wait 3 hours just so I knew the work would be completed. Guess what? I've called 6 times this morning and NO answer. This debacle over a simple OIL CHANGE with a business that does this service for a living is incredible to me. Seems others share my opinion of Buckhead Auto Care according to their reviews.
