Mechanics are not honest at all!!! They promised me my problems will be solved. So I took my vehicle in for some trouble shooting. Guy tells me and I quote "I got good news. Obd scanner did not find any tranny codes" bad news is it found the camshaft position sensor is bad. "That's why your car is stuck in high gear."the problem is you need a tranny fluid service, and I'll change the motor oil for you as well",and that should fix the problem". I return to the shop to pay him 300$ for a service. And the problem was not fixed. Only made the car worse by the transmission shifting harder than it was when. I took it in. So he tells me (for the second time) your camshaft position sensor needs to be replaced. I ask him how much is that going to be. He says "well my shop is backed up and I can't get to it for the next week or so. Than bring it back in, I'll have it for a couple weeks because I have to take the top half of the engine block off to get to it"so its going to be pricey" So my wife YouTube's 2005 nissan maxima camshaft position sensor. Watched the video. And did not even take 30 mins to replace the sensor!! Did not even have to "Take the top of the engine block off"!!! The sensor was located right on top the engine next to a wiring harness. I bought the sensor from a local auto parts store for $71.93!! Took me less than 30 mins to replace the sensor. Now my car is on the road driving lime new!!! So to Don's Garage.....you guys are really dishonest and mechanics like you guys give us mechanics a bad rap to take our vehicles to shops for repairs because you tried to financially screw me and my family. and switch the shop name to Don's Garbage.
