Mechanics at Mecauto Auto Repair are honest and knowledgeable. First time I took my Toyota there and asked for timing belt change. After a while they called me and said based on record got from Toyota my timing belt has been changed and not necessary to do it at this time. This type of mechanics are valuable. I was referred to Mecauto by a friend who is a luxury auto mechanic. I have an older domestic as a back up vehicle. They did a complete diagnostic of a long, existing problem, fixed everything properly and at a very fair price. They are my new go-to mechanic!!
I had been to another mechanic in the area, previously, who made up repairs, guessed at diagnostics...all at my cost.

Do not trust this place, these people are very sneaky and will try to take your money without doing the work, these ugly human beings were supposed to put a new motor in my car and they never did the work, I took my car to another shop and they confirmed that they never put a new motor in, when they were working on my car they were supposed to pay for my rental car, now 6 months later I'm getting a bill from Hertz saying that I owe them $167 for the rental, Mecauto keeps saying that they sent a check out, these people are con-artists who should be arrested for fraud, I have filed a police report and called an attorney, please save your money and take your car to a real shop that won't screw you over

Had my 03' Lexus serviced here recently after going to Hennesy Lexus for some minor work. Rohan and his crew are very well trained in repairs for Lexus and many other makes. They went over and beyond the service that I needed and also saved me on the cost of the repairs by less than half from what the Lexus dealership wanted to charge me. Rohan explained all the options for my aging Acura. made a recommendation to install an auxiliary cooler to prolong the life of my transmission, all for excellent prices. After many years of asking around for an honest mechanic who will not rip off women on principle, a friend told me about Rohan. I took my car in to have the timing belt replaced and it was done in a half day. He also did a transmission fluid change without trying to get me to do the expensive transmission flush. His receptionist is also very efficient; books the appointments, sends repair estimates by email in advance etc. I like that you do not have to bring the car in at the crack of dawn to get service if you book an appointment in advance. Great job!

Seriously the BEST!! I found them by chance from a coupon in the mail for an oil change and it was my lucky day!! I have a 2002 Ford Escape that is in constant need of maintenance. They always work with me and find the best price for the repairs. Even though they don't specialize in Ford, they always find me good deals. I just recently had my transmission fixed by them, they worked very hard to get me multiple options with multiple prices. The owner even offered to give me a ride back from the rental place! I feel very comfortable with them, and as a woman, that's a BIG deal!!

These guys came through for me in a pinch, and I'm excited to give them their first Yelp! I found Mecauto online, and decided to give them a try. My '06 Honda Accord had some smoke coming from under the hood on Monday morning. I got a referral for another repair shop on Mt. Vernon that is well-known and reputable, but nearly impossible to get in to. Several calls to the other shop went unanswered, and after 4 tries, I finally got someone that acted as though they were too busy to help. That's a deal-breaker for me.
I called Mecauto on a whim expecting to be told that they *might* could see me later in the week, but to my surprise, they told me to bring it right over. Lou, the lady on the phone, was a pleasant voice in the midst of my frustration with my situation. I drove it right over, met Lou at the front desk and they had it diagnosed and quoted in about 20 minutes. She even told me if I left it with them, they could complete the repair that day. My quote was $280. They even gave me a ride back to my office! My car was ready at 5:30, with no unexpected issues (i.e. more expense to me) and for exactly what they quoted me. The tech that did the repair told me exactly what to expect - that I may smell the remaining fluid that had dripped on the manifold for another 40 minutes or so, but should see no more smoke. Lou thoroughly explained my bill and told me not to hesitate if I had questions or concerns.
A couple of days later, I have had no issues, no odors, no smoke, and the repair work looks neat and clean. They'll will definitely get the first shot at my future car repair needs!
