These guys are trash! I would ...

These guys are trash! I would never recommend them for anything....if my car broke down in front of their shop i would push it to the next place. They treat women horridly there and are extremely sexist. They also lied to me on many of their parts and things needed to be done to my car. They are scammers and thieves. Ive had nothing but horrid experiences and have also heard nothing but bad things. DONT GO HERE!!!!

PROFESSIONAL THEIVES

EVERY TIME I GO DOWN TO ROYS WITH A REPAIR, WHEN I PICK MY VEHICLE UP IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. I TRY VERY HARD TO DO BUSINESS IN MY AREA TO KEEP BUSINESS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE FIRST TIME I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A DIFFERENT SHOP AND THEY TOOK KNOW RESPONSIBLITY FOR THE SCAM. I HAVE GIVEN THEM A SECOND TRY AND HAVE BEEN BURNED YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER TAKE ANOTHER AUTOMOBILE TO THIS SHOP!!!

Awesome, awesome, awesome repair shop. I've never had an issue here and what I like most about them is that they are HONEST. Leaving your car in someone else's hands involves a lot of trust. I don't let many people work on my cars as I do most of it myself but Roy's is one that this amateur gearhead trusts.

I've been going to Roy's for general maintenance for awhile and thought they were great. Now I want to recommend them to all my friends! My son had a problem with his car recently but the mechanic couldn't find anything specifically wrong (typical -- the car seems fine when you get it into the shop). The Roy's staff worked with us all day to check different things, they took apart and lubed the throttle, etc ... all to give me peace of mind that the car was safe. When we picked it up, they didn't charge us a penny! They've got our business for life.

I'm a widow and needed a trusted auto repair shop. I have visited several other repair shop and found that they were not honest with me and told me that my car needed repair when it turn out that it was unnecessary. The Roy's auto shop understood my concern and take care of me straightforward. I trust them, their services and Would like to recommend to other widows who needs a good, honest auto shop.

I've been going to Roy's since 1997 when I moved to the area. They are a very trusted business and customer service is excellent. They've always be extremely honest with me. It's very hard to find skilled people like the ones at Roy's that are also good, honest, and trustworthy. I've brought a lot of different cars to Roy's over the years and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Steve worked very hard and creatively on one of my older cars in late 2014 to send my car's computer board to a company to work on it for a few hundred dollars instead of a simple and standard option to just replace it for a thousand dollars. They're great and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Needed to be bailed out when a DIY auto repair ran into trouble. The guys at Roy's were able to fit me in last minute and get me on my way. They are very knowledgeable and don't play any games. It is hard to find a reliable mechanic shop and I am happy to have found one in Roys.

Biggest waste of money. Charged me upwards of $800 to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to my car. If there's actually something wrong with your car, I highly recommend NOT going to Roy's. I came in because I heard a noise from the rear axle area of my car. I was told it has a bad differential that will need replacement, among other miscellaneous things that I probably didn't need replaced. But since I'm a sucker, I trusted them and went with it. They couldn't find the diff, so I ordered it. After it being in the shop for 3 weeks, it's finally done but with a $700 bill. I drive it maybe 20 miles and the problem starts again, but much worse. It starts smoking out of the diff. I take it back in and it turns out the diff I just bought overheated and is now ruined. I then discovered on my own that if the tires aren't all the same size, it can cause uneven wear and overheating. So another $130 for new tires. I got the car back and Bam, the noise is still there. It probably needs another whole new differential or who knows whatever else. In conclusion, they fix symptoms, not problems and will squeeze as much money out of you as you'll let them. So here's to waiting with my car in the shop for a month and paying $830 for absolutely nothing to be done to my car. I have NEVER been screwed over so bad by a shop before. If you need an oil change, they're probably fine. But if you need competent diagnostics, and fair service, keep looking.

I have been going to Roy's for years now and have always been pleased with my service. Steve is a great manager and really looks out for his customers. Beware of the big guy, he's a bit grumpy sometimes but all of the other employees are great :)

We like bringing our cars to Roy's because I feel the work will be done right and that they are honest and are priced lower than most places. They also have master techs there and not someone right out of school tech doing some bigger repairs on my cars. The last time I was there I had my timing belt, tensior pulley, water belt, temp gauge and a few other maintenance items that I wanted replaced. They did such a good job marking all the belts and I did not have one problem! I ask for Steve to schedule and help answer my questions he is very good at detail and takes the time to explain options and pro and cons. Pricing with him is very clear. Only great things to say from this Happy Customer!!

As a female I have encountered just about every sexist comment possible at various auto repair shops and auto parts stores when I go in by myself. I get called "sweetheart" and "honey" alot. BUT now that i have found Roy's I never have to deal with that again, these guys did not treat me like a clueless female at all. They treated me like a person, explained everything and did a great job fixing the multiple issues i had with my vehicle. Ladies, if you are looking for someone to treat you like a human being when it comes to getting your vehicle serviced take your car to Roy's!

These guys are great and trustworthy. I went to the dealership last week to get the oil changed in my Toyota Camry and was told I needed multiple items replaced and changed on my vehicle. (Totaling $565.00) Thinking I should get a second opinion, I scheduled an appointment at Roy's a few days later to find that my vehicle didn't need any of those services. Needless to say I was very disappointed in my dealership and will be going back to Roy's in the future. If you're a AAA member they have many perks for you as well!

Went here this morning for the first time, and couldn't be happier. Had an issue with my windshield wiper fluid not dispensing properly. Called the dealer and the quoted price was absurd. Found Roy's, called and explained, they said to bring it for a look. Half hour later it was fixed, for $20. I'll be back.

A very convenient location, Roy's Auto Repair has a great habit of having nice people working the front office and experienced, efficient mechanics working the garage. My office and I have used them in the past, and they've impressed us to say the least!

If I could give zero stars I would. Brought my car in for engine issues, 3 days later I am called and told engine is shot, would be $3200 to repair, install of new (rebuilt) engine. It wasn't worth it and they offered to refer me to a scrap yard, sold car to scrap yard (twice bounced check). Someone buys the car from scrap yard and is given my info about multiple titles. Tells me he bought the car and fixed it for $600, all it needed was timing belt and pulley. Totally screwed me over and I would avoid this place at all costs.

I called for an appointment on Tuesday for Thursday afternoon. They scheduled me for 1:00. I arrived on time and they took my car in immediately. They were very nice while I waited. Made sure with me regarding any work that needed to be done. I was out in an hour. It was my first time there but so much better than my last few experiences getting my car worked on. I will definitely go back.

Roy's has been wonderful to us. They do a great job and really want to meet the needs of their customers. They also volunteered to help our Webelos den, and they helped us accomplish our achievements for Handyman. I don't know any of these guys personally. They volunteered without blinking.

Roy's Auto Repair is the best auto shop I've used in 23 years of driving. They've always had great pricing. Their service is fast and has never required me to return with new problems like other shops. When I've gone to them in emergency situations, they've squeezed me in. This is the only mechanic who has-on more than one occassion-told me that I didn't need to do work that I thought I did when they could have just done it and charged me a load of money. They've always been honest, fair, speedy, reliable, and provided excellent service to me. They saved my butt again today and didn't ream me even though they easily could have if they wanted. Another huge plus is that they are the only shop I've ever been to that didn't use fear tactics or condescend to me as a woman auto owner. Never need another shop again!

The guy behind the counter (let's call him Roy) was ... Ah to hell with it, I'm not even going to bother to say anything nice.
I've gotten an emissions test before. I know It's not open heart surgery and I know it takes 5 minutes max. That said, I'm not asking for them to drop everyone else and service me right away. However when I ask if there's any chance you could "squeeze me in for a quick emissions test" the first thing out of Roy's mouth shouldn't be "(Laughs) We don't do anything quick around here." Seriously, Roy? Seriously? I'm not in PR but I can pull a better response out of my ***.
The kicker was the suggestion that I come back 27 hours from now to get it done. Well good for you Roy. I'm glad business is so good that you can't find 5 minutes in the remaining 5 hours of your workday to make 24 bucks on a simple emissions test.
Maybe I'm just complaining too much though. Maybe you should also experience how much of a pain it is to get to Roy's; his sign is too far back from the road and the second you miss it you'll get to spend 10 minutes turning around because there's no obvious easy way to get across four lanes on Manchester blocked by a divider.
In summation: good luck getting to Roy's and good luck getting any of Roy's time.

I've been taking my car there for years (its old and has lots of miles on it). I have found them to be honest and fair, and don't try to talk you into things you don't need.
Lately though, the quotes they give over the phone have been off by about $200. I suggest you get a name from whoever quotes you. I spoke to the manager once and he was pretty helpful about it but I know someone else this happened to also.
I will continue to take my business there.

The guys at the front desk are friendly and helpful. I would have liked it if they secured my battery cover after replacing it.. but it didn't happen. Other than that they were quick and I'd probably go back if needed.

roy's is good!
my hubby & i have had multiple vehicles serviced here over the years. they do a good job. it's a small, family-owned service center, so their service is more personal than one of the large auto shops.
they're honest. i've usually waited for my service, and they're pretty speedy. near the corner of manchester & 141.

Im new to Missouri, so I Yelp almost everything....I move a lot. After reading the other post by Nancy P. I decided to bring my car here to have the windshield washer fixed. For some reason the washer tube was clogged or had a hole or something because nothing ever came out. Anyway, I called on a Thursday to make an appt. for Saturday morning. The guy who answered the phone was pleasant enough. Come Saturday, my husband and I dropped my car off at 10am (I didn't want to wait with 2 kids...) and about $50 bucks and an hour later it was fixed. When the guy called I thought he was going to tell me the problem and offer some solutions....but no....it was FIXED! Keep in mind, I've been trying to get this thing fixed for about a year or longer but was told by several repair shops it'd probably be $300 plus whatever fee to diagnose (that was at the Kia dealership). In fact, at one point we had Mineke or Midas or one one those places try to fix it and it was GREAT ...for about a day. So, who knew an hour, $50 and a prayer would give me the ability to spray my windshield! Thanks Roy's Auto!
