Awesome place to have your car repaired...has been in business for 20 years....love the customer service, recommendations from Discount Tire (6) locations and service O'REILLY delivery trucks on Bay Area..They have Alingment specicals with coupons...the latest technology on their alignment machine....and also will look at vehicles for free of charge to tell you what is going on with your vehicle. Clean Facility...Same owner...new management!!! Give them a try...you wont be sorry :)

Beware

Took my truck in because there was a popping sound in the front suspension. Was told the right front control arm needed replacement, so I agreed. The popping was still present afterward. After 3 return visits (first two I'm told they went over everything and there was no problem) they finally discover a loose bolt they forgot to tighten. Six months later the problem returns. I take it Back to them and they tell me I need new upper and lower ball joints. This doesn't seem right, so I pick it up and take it to the Toyota dealership (which I should have done in the first place). The Toyota mechanics find all sorts of loose bolts throughout both sides of the front suspension. They tighten them all up and do an alignment and all is well. I'm lucky nothing came apart going down the road.

BE WARNED. Miguel is a ripoff....

BE WARNED. Miguel is a ripoff. Three days in the shop and the problem is worse, he has an attitude, refused to refund my money and told me I could take it to court. I waited 3 hrs after work for my truck after I was told it was almost ready. You could have gave me my money back Miguel, but now I will let everyone know how crappy you run a business and you will lose much more than the $280 dollars you stole from me. When you dont fix the problem you dont deserve to get paid no matter how many unneccessary parts you installed.

Went here on Wednesday with an appointment and was taken care of immediately. Very friendly and professional staff. Mechanic was very helpful in pointing out that my tires needed balancing as I just bought them from Discount Tire. I only gave four stars because the waiting area needs some work. Overall great experience!

Okay this place is little low key... which is good for customers since they don't have to wait an entire week just to get serviced; I called these guys at 12pm and set up an appointment within the next hour. The downside to being low key is the fact that they don't get as much business as they hope to get. I'm sure they have their regulars that help them stay afloat--which now includes me since I've been twice and was thoroughly satisfied both times--but they seriously need some exposure because these guys are good, honest mechanics.
They have it very tough at their location especially with lots of fierce competition very close by-- Ash Automotive and Kar King just down the street. But I'll definitely vouch for these guys. Don the manager at the front desk is a stand up guy as well; he's very likable and does the best he can to assure you that your car is in good hands.
They don't try to upsell customers even if you don't know much about cars. You can tell them the symptoms in the most unorthodox car lingo you can think of and they will diagnose it e.g. I told them, "I feel this irregular 'bubblely' sensation when i approach a stopping point" and they deduced that I had to get my oxygen sensor replaced... and they were right! To add more icing on the cake, they knocked off the diagnostics fee since I got it repaired there. Took about a day to repair it but nonetheless, I got my car back in tip-top shape.
I left there feeling satisfied because I took it in for a specific reason and left getting that problem resolved, without any extra maintenance. I can't say they're prices are the cheapest in town... frankly because I have no grounds for comparison. However, the money I spend there was definitely all well spent since they provided quality service and quality assurance.

I got a coupon from Discount Tire to get an alignment done and I regret trying it out immensely . Atrocious "customer service" from Glen. He was rude, dishonest and tried to scare/pressure me into $1,000 service of fixing a motor mount after telling me my alignment won't last more than a few days and he wouldnt honor the price listed on the coupon. I ended up getting the parts replaced locally for about $350 including labor. Please learn from my mistake and avoid this place at all costs.

Terrible service, outrageous prices ($40 for an oil change). I got to the shop at 6 PM to pick up my car after dropping it off for a simple oil change, and behold the shop was closed, lights off, not a person in sight. They did not give me a courtesy call to check to see if I am on my way to pick up my car. I work down the street and it is a 10 minute walk. Unprofessional and inconsiderate. In addition, based on other reviews they don't seem to know what they are doing and my dealings with the owner have been anything but good.
Take you car anywhere else but here.

We were sent here by Discount Tire due to an issue with the brake shoe on my husband's truck (Discount Tire had somehow messed it up when putting on new tires). Billy Ray helped us out; we left the truck around 11am, and by 1pm he was calling us to tell us the truck was fixed. Hubby says it's riding better than it has in months. Quick, efficient, and friendly.

I've been quoted on services for this place and they want as much as or more than a dealership would for the same services. Texans Auto Service on highway 3 is much cheaper. Not to mention when I deliver food to these people they never tip. Rude, greedy, and short with people..... I would never bring my car here for work.

I learned the General Manager has been replaced since the time they performed my engine swap. I hope improves the quality of service they provide. I give them one star because they stored my vehicle while I payed off the repair in installments AND because Keisha is a bright ray of love and sunshine. But, this is my story from within the past year with the previous general manager below:
I have spent waaaaay too much money in this place!! Being new to the area, I wasn't sure where to take my vehicle when the check engine light came on, nor did I know enough people to ask their opinions of a reputable shop. Since I figured my older model vehicle would be at the shop for a while, this place seemed okay and was definitely within jogging distance. After dropping the vehicle off, they called and explained I had a blown head gasket ($1200 repair). I approved the okay to begin repairs only to find out 3 days later there is actually a crack in my engine block ($2000). Not their fault, but 3 days to find out?! I okay this repair and drive the vehicle for a week without problems and then.....? My check engine light comes back on! Long story short, I take my vehicle in 3 times for a check engine light, end up spending approximately $3000 and the sucker is still on! The mechanic simply took the check engine light off!
Since I've been back, I was refused an oil change by another mechanic because my rear main seal leaks. I was told that any reputable shop would change out the rear main seal when doing an engine swap especially in 4x4 vehicles as this tends to wear quickly. When I asked the shop why this was not done, they explained they only perform this service when a customer requests it. I know nothing about auto mechanics and find it irresponsible and a tad shady that this would have not been explained to me during the time of the engine swap for me to even be given the option to request it.
I will not be back to this shop ever again. Clearly there are others that have had great experiences, but I simply cannot afford to fix the same problem over and over again. I have found a mechanic that shows me how the parts work and charges me less than half the price. All repairs he has conducted since my experience at Discount Auto Service Center/Clear Lake have FINALLY fixed what was wrong with my vehicle. I wish them the best in their business ventures.

This is the best mechanic shop. Have been taking our cars here for a few years. They are all friendly and honest. Their work is excellent and they always talk to you about the problems and show you what is wrong/fixing. Their cost are very reasonable and they have never been over priced. We will continue to use them as our local mechanic and we recommend them to our friends.
