I'd like to thank Bryan from Turner's Garage for rescuing us today. Our mud flap bracket broke off and cut the tread on our tire and I had to baby the truck off of the freeway to the nearest gas station. Bryan just happened to be at the gas station and had us follow him to the shop. In less than half an hour he changed our tire and had us back on the road for a very reasonable price. Nowadays it's so scary when a stranger offers you help in an unfamiliar place. I feel so blessed that this young man came to our rescue. All of the staff at Turner's are very well mannered and considerate and I recommend them highly.

My wife and I broke down in our Class A motorhome after closing time. We had blew a tire on one of our duals. We called GoodSam and they gave us Turner's garage and Red Wine. I called Red Wine and they said they didn't have the tire and that was pretty much the end of the conversation with them. They didn't offer to help locate one or nothing. I called Gray and he asked if I could limp on down a couple miles to his garage, which we did. Gray and his son welcomed us to the garage and made sure we were set for the night. They gave us water and electric for the motorhome and a nice level place to park overnight at the garage. Gray arrived first thing in the morning and located a tire for us. Our tire happens to be an odd ball size and he was able to get it sent up from SC. Meanwhile he has allowed us to remain onsite in our motorhome. From what I can see Turner Garage is the go to place for the locals to get their cars and trucks worked on. If your in the Gaston NC area and you need service, this is the place to get it done.

I accidentally pumped unleaded into my diesel Bug (no hate notes please. I'm sure some of you have done the same :-D). It was Friday night in Roanoke Rapids, and I was 200-hundred miles from home, and 200-miles from my scuba dive site. Instead of diving, I spent Saturday calling every auto shop in RR; they were either closed on weekends (What is the logic behind that...cars break on weekends too!?!?!) or they did not have the equipment to fix my car. I thought I was going to be stuck in RR until Monday. On Sunday, I expanded my search list to surrounding towns. I came across a shop in Gaston. Although that shop cannot fix my car, the mechanic referred me to Turner's. I called Mr. Turner and explained my dilemma. He told me to have the car towed to his shop immediately so they can fix it, and get me back on the road the same day. Woohoo! What a relief that was. Since I am not a mechanic, I will probably embarrass myself attempting to explain their work. Therefore, I will only say this much: Turner Mechanics are professionals when it comes to autos. They fixed my car, and I was back on the road in the afternoon. I wish the shop is located closer to me, because there is no doubt that I would take my cars to Turner's for everything--I trust their workmanship, 100%.
