Outstanding service. Frank is a straight shooter and honest. I will never take my car anywhere else. Fixed my old commuter beater car within budget and on time. Tip: the shop is set way back from the road. Apple Maps will not point you in the right direction.

This awesome mechanic shop is located behind Piedmont Tire & Auto and provides Great Service! I met with Fred an hour before they closed and he accurately diagnosed my car's problem without even seeing my car. All of the mechanics were busy, and he was able to get my car in for service, make the repair and send me on my way without accepting any money (only 20 minutes!). Fred only asked that I come to see him again, next time.
These 'old school' Mechanic shops like this one, are hard to come by. Keep this local, honest mechanic shop in mind for any of your future repairs!! Thanks again Fred!!

Brought my car here twice to get it fixed and both times were a very good experience. Fred was quite accurate with his estimate and even more accurate with his estimated time to finish the job. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants work done on their car by honest people.

Worked on my car some years ago. Did subpar work, never gave me any kind of itemized bill and charged me over $7,000! Had to take it to another mechanic to fix everything that was supposed to be fixed the first time. Maybe they are better now, but that experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I now have a mechanic who is fantastic, honest and doesn't do anything extra that isn't required.

Fred and his crew at Haymarket Motors have had the pleasure (or displeasure) of working on my and my husbands cars for the past year. You won't beat his prices anywhere in the Gainesville/Haymarket area and, best of all, he knows cars inside and out. Rest assured that if Fred can't fix your car no one can and it's probably time to buy a new one. Check them out the next time your car needs a repair. As A women it is hard to find a repair shop that is honest! The guys are awesome, honest, and experienced. I had taken my car to a chain shop for oil and tire rotation and drove away with a strange and new sound coming from the front tires. I stopped in here a few days later an told Fred and John (?) about the problem they checked the tires and looked the suspension over and reattached the lug nuts. I asked if I could pay them and they said it was alright all they did was look it over so there would be no charge. I drove home with no mystery sound and a better feeling ride. The fact that they listened while I tried to explain the problem and did not rip me off was great! Please let these guys help you they are an honest well priced mom and pop shop. Give em a try!

We've been going to Haymarket Motors for several years and I can't say enough good things about them. We had our car inspected elsewhere and were given an astronomical quote to fix everything needed to pass it. We brought it by Haymarket Motors and Fred fixed everything for significantly less money. This is the first review I've left on Yelp before because this company deserves 5 stars across the board. Use them and you WILL NOT be disappointed!!

This is the best car repair shop you have never heard of. Haymarket Motors is an old-school auto repair shop in Haymarket, VA. The first time I rolled up on this place (they are hidden and you have to know where to look for them) they were playing bluegrass on the shop radio. Loud. Now I'm thinking, this is my kind of place!
But don't let their country facade fool you - their lead mechanic is absolutely top-notch, and they work on all makes and models, foreign or domestic. This is the guy you seek out when the dealership, or your other garage, just can't figure out the problem. This guy has more than forty years experience, and has forgotten more about AMC than most other mechanics know about all other makes combined.
I have used them three times (so far) without any issues whatsoever, and I recommended them to a friend of mine as well. They fixed his car when the dealership couldn't figure out the problem after multiple tries. You just don't see this kind of troubleshooting skill around anymore; everyone else just guesses and swaps parts until hopefully they get lucky.
This place gets the job done right the first time, and their rates are reasonable. Plus they will work on anything that rolls up, anything. They seem to take pride in this fact, and rightfully so. They have even done some Ferrari and Rolls Royce work, at least according to the secretary.

I agree with the previous review. This place is absolutely top notch. The owner, Fred, has been a mechanic for 40+ years and clearly knows his stuff. This is my first visit to this shop and I was blown away by the professionalism, knowledge, and honesty that Fred and his employees exhibited. They were able to accurately diagnose and repair a problem with my 99 mustang that 3 visits to the Ford dealer couldn't resolve. And for a very fair price! I will definitely be back to this shop, both with the 99 while I have it, and my new mustang as well. I highly recommend Haymarket Motors!
