Hartsdale Automotive has made my life so much easier! I have an older car and wasn't holding out much hope that it would make it much longer, but I'm far more optimistic since I started taking it to Hartsdale Automotive for regular check ups. It is extremely convenient (right across from the train station), and my cars is always ready upon my return (you can pick up anytime before 11:00 p.m.). The staff is polite and honest. I highly recommend it!

You'll get first-rate, honest service from Tom and Chris at Hartsdale Automotive. Years ago, Tom got the Check Engine light fixed my 1998 Honda Accord when two Honda dealers couldn't figure out what was wrong. I've been going to him ever since, and that '98 Accord is still on the road. In addition to his technical expertise, Tom is an honest guy in an industry not known for honesty. If your car doesn't need a repair, he won't do it. Most recently, Tom was able to diagnose and fix (at zero cost to me) an intermittent electrical problem that was causing my car to stall out. He replaced the distributor under warranty. They also do excellent wheel alignments. He recently did an alignment on my 2004 Honda Odyssey and the van has never tracked better. Bottom line for me is that when I have a tough, complicated job, or routine maintenance on one of my vehicles, I take it to Hartsdale Automotive. Highly recommended. Charles, Scarsdale, New York.

Yes the gas is expensive, but it is the best shop in the area. You can drop your car off get an oil change, or get other work done and take the train into the city and pick up your car when you get back. The Mobil is right across the street from the Hartsdale train station. Ask for Rick or Tommy! They are experienced mechanics and are fair and honest. I only bring my car to this shop. They always do great work and they are cheaper than going to the dealership!

Had car trouble en route to New England, and had to make an unplanned detour. We were very lucky to end up here after the rear brakes started to smoke. Very unnerving, but Tom was incredibly nice and helped us immediately, squeezing our car in, and getting us back on the road in a few hours. We're incredibly grateful for his work and extremely fair price. If you live in anywhere near Hartsdale, this is the place to go for fast, honest auto work. Thanks again, Tom.

If you're going to jump on the Bronx River Parkway and you are in desperate need gas this place is invaluable. But holy christ are they price gougers. Today's price on regular $4.75 which is nearly a buck over the lowest price places in the vicinity. Gas up here only if you have no other choice!

I woke up Memorial Day 2014 expecting to go to the beach but my car wouldn't start. Needless to say, my BMW Roadside Assistance couldn't find a tow truck to come get me on Memorial Day from my underground parking garage so I had to wait until the following day. The next morning, I called Hartsdale Automotive (Hartsdale Mobile) because they were relatively close to me in Scarsdale and because they're right across from the Hartsdale Train Station which I thought might be handy since I work in the city and could take the train if necessary. When I called, I told them I wanted to have my car towed in and they said it wouldn't be a problem and that they'd get to it as soon as I got it there. Boy, were they not kidding. About an hour after I dropped it off around noon, they called and told me it was my fuel pump which needed to be replaced and they gave me the price which was very reasonable. At that point, however, I had visions of having to rent a car for 2 or 3 days but when Tom, the owner, told me they might have the car ready later the same day, I was still skeptical. At about 4:30 the same day, Tom called me and told me my car was ready! I was dumbfounded and in total disbelief. I never expected them to be able to order a part and replace it that quickly. I've never received that kind of service from a service station or even a dealership. Tom was very pleasant, attentive as soon as I arrived, and the car drives beautifully again. Thank you Hartsdale Automotive. I'm sure Westchester BMW would have been at least twice the price and taken 10 times as long to repair. You guys rock!

so i recently went to this place to get a few things done to my car. they gave me an estimate which i though seemed high so i decided to shop around. i found a place offering the same services for less so i decided to go with the cheap choice. the expression "you get what you pay for" rings true in this situation because i ended up coming back less then a week later to get all of the mistakes done by the place i initially went to. the staff was very helpful and they even offered to give me a ride home so i wouldn't have to wait around till they were done. although they may be considered a bit pricy its well worth the service. i refuse take my car anywhere else

I rarely, if ever, write reviews. But my experience here was so horrible, I have to share. I recently moved into the area and made the naive mistake of going to the closest and most convenient auto shop. They are ridiculously overpriced and have the worst customer service!!! They charged $50 for an oil change and $45 for wiper blades, as well as a number of other overpriced repairs I observed! They are obviously still in business because it is conveniently located across the street from the train station. I admit, it was partially my fault for not doing more research before hand. But there is absolutely no excuse for the attitude given by the employees. Chris Romani and a woman named Jillian were extremely rude and unhelpful. They seemed annoyed that I was asking for a breakdown of my bill, which turned out to be incorrect! I remained calm and polite as they corrected my bill. I was disgusted by how Chris condescendingly spoke to me, without any apology, even after he realized he was in the wrong! I would rather drive out of my way and pay more money to a business with quality employees who treat customers with respect and kindness. Luckily, I found another auto shop who was able to provide that and much lower prices ($300 cheaper for all my repairs)! I'm sure this is the cliche mechanic experience many have encountered. But we learn from other's reviews and recommendations. At the very least, I hope someone will learn from my mistake!
