If i could give 0 star i would! This place eatimated the damage and said they would fix the car in a simple fender bender. One month later and lies and lies they wheeled the car out with additional damage to engine, refuse to answer phone or give reasons! They dis nothing to fix the car just scammed and took my money!! Worst place DO NOT GO ThERE!!!!!

Messed my vehicle up badly I know blas personally and I didn't expect it from him. Was very confident in him at first but now I need a new motor due to a simple oil change that wasnt done correctly. Everyone that has gone there that I know had something bad to say about the shop but I didn't listen. Now I learned the hard way. Will never be going back. If I could put a quarter of a star I would.

Just horrible. They wont tell you how much they will charge you. Car been their for 1 week for a simple fuel injector change. Came by even worse. Check engine light flashing. They do not work on your car. They tell their customers its a tough job as if they're changing the whole engine.... yea right they steel of you.... warning... stay away you wont regret this. Thats why they have bad reviews online

Very disappointed! They never fixed my car after two attempts which they charged me for both totally $640.00. I finally took it somewhere else who actually fixed it for $210.00.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you breakdown at O'Hare this is the place to go.
My partner and I flew back into O'Hare to find that our car's power steering had exploded upon restarting it. We were stranded 2 hours away from home so looked on Yelp to find a decent auto shop nearby. The 5 star reviews for Star were enough to convince us to have our poor, unreliable car towed there and I am so glad we did.
Blas and Roulah did a fantastic job in, not just fixing the car for an excellent price and in a timely manner but also providing excellent customer service. I wish they were my local auto shop as I would be more than happy to take my car to them for any problem whatsoever.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. This shop ruined a working car and took our money and didn't fix it! We came in with a fender bender and ended up with badly attached hood and bumper, old rusty radiator and broken fan! They broke our AC with bad wiring, broke electric hook up. Our horn is missing and they wheeled the car out of the shop with a dead battery! They had the car for a month and gave excuse after excuse why they didn't finish! SCAMMERS! And liars took our money and failed us. These people have by far the worst and most disrespectful customer service, they verbally assault their customers and yell in front of my four year old!

Star is now a woman owned and operated shop, and let me tell you it's a refreshing change. I found this out a few months ago only because the partnership in my main shop suddenly took a turn for the worse. The partners, who worked together seemlessly, split up. As a result, the partner who left took his superior listening and diagnostic capabilities with him, leaving it to a slew of new, less experienced help both in the garage and at the desk. I got less value for my money because an intermittent yet recurring problem they couldn't duplicate had suddenly got worse, but only the surface problems that made it worse were corrected. In fact, upon getting home with it I found that it wasn't even noted on the work order. It's like I got lost in the system.
So while they go through their re-growing pains I decided to try another place. My nearby choices had only a few Yelps each so I took a shot on Star for its proximity. The woman who runs the shop (Roulah) listened to my description of the rough running and shut-off problem with my Kia Sedona (common). She told me what she thought it was, which was related to but not covered by the codes that came up on the check-engine scan done by AutoZone. I told her what I thought it was after an extensive search on the internet. I brought it in, she scanned it with more precise equipment, and her main mechanic (Blaise) checked it out (complimentary). They also did an internet search and came up with a common cause I hadn't seen.
So they narrowed it down to three possible fixes -- one must-do, and two optionals that I could go without for a while if the 1st fix worked. They came up with a pcost-minimizing plan of action. The 1st fix got rid of the shut-down problem and most of the rough running -- it was what Roulah thought it would be before doing any testing! The 2nd fix was more expensive (timing belt, what else) and the common issue Blaise found online. It was clearly on it's way out and voila, all the roughness has turned to smoothness!
Like my previously cited shop in its prime, these guys worked like a true team from the front desk to the garage. They communicated, went the extra distance to make an accurate and complete diagnosis, and used our priorities (cost, schedule) to guide the solutions they offered. They prepared us for next-level consequences of the issues (i.e. one piston coil going means the others will start to go one by one) and told us how to recognize them. No pressure, no over-exaggeration to fix it now. The price was either the same or less than their quote. Bonus: They allowed me to make payments over 45 days for that timing belt expense, which was a gift in and of itself right before the holidays -- not something the all-men shop ever offered.
The only downside is the couple of times I had to wait longer while they searched for my paperwork. But for what I saved and peace of mind I have in knowing I can trust them, I can afford to wait.
I feel like I hit the lottery finding two great shops in two tries. I hope this one sticks because I don't know how long this lucky streak can run.

I am so disappointed. The worst part about this experience is that I know them and they screwed me over. I pulled out of the parking lot expecting my car to be fixed after paying $300.00. My check engine light was still on and had the same problems. Took my car back and after paying an additional $340.00 it was still not fixed. I was not going to give them any more of my money so I took it to Creative Automotive and they fixed it for $210.00, and its really fixed!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! I also told them that my brakes were making a funny noise and they said they looked at everything and it was fine. They next day the ABS light went on. This place is a joke!

These guys are great: it was like taking my car to a family mechanic.
I work next door and a coworker recommended this place to me. They understood and repaired my problem, and even suggested a few other things they noticed about the car that I may want to get checked out.
I was most shocked when I got the bill: total for a new tire, reaffixing the wheel well tire liner including labor and the tire itself: $75. WHAT? I can't even find a tire alone for that price. Love these guys and they always take car of my beat-up commuter car!

Friendly and patient staff. Quality work at a reasonable price. The place is very clean and welcoming. The receptionist and the mechanics were very friendly and understanding. I would recommend anyone with auto needs to pay them a visit. You will not be disappointed! :)

This is one of the best most honest shops in the area! The customer service is superb! Their prices and quality cant be beat!!! I recently had a problem with the front end of my car , I took it to a local shop and I was quoted $800 for control arms and a front end alignment !!! So i looked for a second opinion since I really didn't trust that place.. Then saw Star Automotive on yelp they had great reviews so I gave them a shot. called them up made appt next day went to shop they lifted my car showed me and explained the problem. A ball joint was causing the problem and they went out of their way to help me. They had it done fast while I waited,I was also shocked at the bill! I couldn't believe my eyes it was only $100.00 installed! out the door!!! The owner even loaned me her car so i could go to ATM!!! I am recommending this place to everyone I know! Thanks star automotive for all your help I will be coming back again and again!

I started coming as a recommendation from other co-workers who take there car here as well. I have to say that my negative experience at another auto shop in the area made me weary of co-worker recommendations. But this time it paid off. The guys here are extremely friendly, even on the first visit, and have no problem being up front with you on repairs or routine maintenance. You can bet that I'll be bringing my car here for years to come.

Great crew--friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy based on what I have experienced. They were also very efficient and got me in and out quickly. I picked this place because it is close to work and there was this one review on yelp, which was favorable, but I would definitely come back.
Just one word of advice--probably not a good idea to call female customers sweetheart. It's obviously meant well, like calling a guy buddy (which I heard while I was there). But in this day and age, it's like having a comb over--you should know better by now. Some women might take it as condescending. I know--everything's so pc now but I'm just letting you know how it is. No, no one had a comb over here, that was an analogy.

Great service and the guy there Ray is always smiling. I have recommended this shop to many of my friends and they all came back happy about the service and the price. Since I've had a long experience with them, sometimes when the problem is not fixed the first time... they are very easy to go back to and have the problem fixed. They are honest and try to beat other quotes. I highly recommend them for their service and price.
