Both of the "J's" are outstanding. They took the time really find and fix the problem(s) with my son's car while he is off at school. They have given great advice both to my son and I about the car. I trust them and would heartily recommend them to anyone. Thanks again!

Not only do John and Jay do great quality work but they are extremely reasonable on price. After my full synthetic oil change, I had to ask Jay to repeat the total as I wasn't sure I heard him correctly. I did and I was beyond satisfied. I'm Absolutely thrilled that I've got a new auto repair shop that does a high quality job and the knowledge that I'm supporting a local business who really cares about their clients.

FINALLY! I may have found the auto repair shop that has eluded me for the past 25 years! Jason and John are the only mechanics I know who are willing to take on some of the trickiest repairs known to man. My son's Audi has proven to be a bad deal from the moment we bought it just two months ago. These gentlemen have made it plain and clear that the car is not worth saving...and no 19-year-old should be driving one unless he's already making $50K per year. On their recommendation I will search out a more affordable and reliable used car...one that they repair for a fraction of what I've spent in other repair shops already. You can bet that I'm going back to them with the other three cars we have. If there's one thing you'll find at J&J Automotive Repair it's HONESTY. Good luck finding that elsewhere!

It's hard to find honest mechanics these days & Jason was Godsend. My car broke down at a green light in Poughkeepsie and I chose to bring my car to J&J because of their ratings & a local person's recommendation. I was stranded - 2 hours away from home - stressed & at their mercy. This could have been a disaster ... they could have easily taken advantage of my situation (especially since I'm not a local & a woman) & charge me an arm & a leg for a laundry list of things - but my experience was amazing. Not only was Jason helpful - he was transparent - honest & sincere. Despite having a hectic schedule, Jason personally went and got the necessary parts needed to repair my car in an effort to get me home before dark (I reached Manhattan by 7:30!). He walked me exactly through each step and patiently answered all my questions (and I had a million of them). He even gave me a much needed pep talk lol! J&J's service was nothing short of how a family member would treat you and I really wish them the best and success for years to come! Not only did I reach home safely without my car breaking down again, Jason asked me to call him to confirm that I reached safely for his own peace of mind. I'm not making any of this up & am not getting paid to write this review - it's honest and I owe them. I will def be staying in touch with them & using them as a sound board for any future car issues. Highly recommend them. Check them out & see for yourself!

J&J will have my business from now on. I bought a 2012 rogue last year that I only had dealer serviced. However I got sick of being treated poorly for top $. I really wish I had just gone to j&j from the beginning because I had a great experience with fast and honest service from professional and friendly people. I look forward to having my vehicles taken care of by them in the future and will recommend to friends. John was also helpful to any questions I had with a hand shake from both John and jay.

As stated by everyone else here, John and Jason are great. They are a couple of honest, hard-working guys doing business the right way. I have a 1998 Honda Civic with over 300,000 miles on it and, as with any car that age, it has more than one problem. Jason went out of his way to tell me about the things that could wait to be fixed and never tried to sell me on doing any more than was necessary given the car's age. Also, as others have mentioned, their pricing is more than reasonable, and I am a cheapskate so I was very happy about that. Jason and John want to build relationships with their customers that will last and everything they do, from the waiting room amenities, to the time they spend speaking with customers, to the honest feedback about necessary and unnecessary repairs, to the more than fair pricing shows that. As someone who moves around quite a bit and who drives an old, high mileage car, finding an honest, friendly, reliable mechanic is always a concern. I could not be happier that I found J and J.

J&J are the best! On my first visit, they took my Honda Accord out for a test drive then did a through evaluation. Then they escorted me to the garage and walked me around and under the car the show me all their findings, came up with an affordable plan of repair and maintenance. They completed the work exactly at the time they quoted and even called me a few days later to check-in. They are trustworthy, fair and responsive. I really feel like my brothers are looking after my car.

I am a college student and a first time car buyer and don't really know much about cars, these guys have been VERY helpful with helping me and showing me the ropes with my car and always answering my crazy car questions !! I am from North Carolina and I am used to southern hospitality and being in New York you don't always get that but you definitely get that here!!! And they make cool sculptures out of car parts by hand!

I found the reviews below to be right on the money. The guys at J & J actually care about building a relationship with customers, and they take a great deal of pride in their work.
Jason, one of the owners, spent a considerable amount of time with me, testing my car and making sure that I understood what was wrong with it. I'm not very knowledgeable about auto repairs so I really appreciated this.
All things considered, the guys at J & J did a great job, they gave excellent advice, and they proved to be a really likeable bunch of people. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Omg!!! Thank you Jason for running that diagnostic on the Used Altima I was in the process of purchasing. The car was brought in by another party on my behalf. Scam!!! Pulled in told them I wanted the 39.00 oil change. They said ok. Pull my car in drain my oil and than tell me I need a different oil double the price should have told me that before draining my oil. Never will go back!!!

So so SO glad to find Jason and John! Gifted mechanics who genuinely care about their customers and their cars. During a regular inspection, they spotted and rescued my brakes from a problem left over from a job done by a chain before I found them, and wouldn't even charge me for their time. They haven't been in this location long, and continue to improve for example the waiting area upstairs, which already has a comfortable seating area with refreshments, and is a nice place to work while you wait. Had a repair done this week and noticed how busy they've gotten, but they seem to be loving it. And I'm loving the feeling that they will keep our aging cars safely and economically on the road for some time to come!

Though I live in New Jersey, I was visiting relatives in the area and needed someone to replace my brakes and rotors. I called J&J, and told them that I need new brakes, and was ready to drop the car off and pay whatever it takes. Instead of simply yes drop it off, the gentleman on the phone asked questions about my car, my driving habits and told me to come in and take a test drive together because I may not need them. I was amazed at the level of warmth and care. On Saturday morning, I came in, met Jason and immediately he took time for me and we took a test drive. While waiting in the guest area for him to put the car on the lift, I was amazed by all the fun games and comforts of the waiting area, it made me want to stay there forever. This is the waiting room I want to be in when I have a big car job. Spacious air conditioned living room space - with lots of games like foosball, pool, chess, old pin ball machines, vintage candy and soda dispensers, big refrigerator stocked with refreshments, couches and TV. While I waited not even a few minutes, Jason put my car on the lift and came to get me to show me what was happening. He patiently explained to me the reasons behind my brakes shaking, went though it with me. He showed me my brake pads, and told me that I didn't need to replace them at all. He cleaned off a plastic bag that was stuck to one of my pipes (I did smell a burning smell in my cabin for a while). He went over all parts of my car, checking everything thoroughly, and I didn't need brakes after all. He also noticed a greasy stain on the side door of my car, and took initiative to clean it for me. He discussed the possible repairs coming up on my car, and went over all maintenance issues. I walked out without spending any money because they said my rotors were still ok, and now I will take time to save for when they to be replaced and will return to them to get them done. Their prices are very reasonable, they seem to love cars and take great pride in maintaining them, and I will come to J&J for all my repairs in the future. Even if I have to drive 2 hours, it will save me money in the end. And recommend them to my friends and colleagues in New Jersey. They are worth driving the distance for, it is very rare to find a mechanic shop like this. I feel like my car is in good, expert hands with them. And I am so moved by their level of service, that I was compelled to write my first yelp review about them. Highly recommend them!!!

These guys are great. I brought my car in on Monday at 4:30 for an inspection, and I mentioned a knocking from the rear of my car. They found out that the last people that worked on my car stripped and broke a bolt which could have killed me. They couldn't let that go. They stayed an hour and a half after closing to fix that bolt because they told me my safety came first. Needless to say I will never go anywhere else to get work done on my car. These guys are incredible.
