I took my vehicle there (2014 Honda accord) and they did a wonderful job. The managers as well as owners are very knowledgable and took care of me ASAP. This is my second time there. My wife's car was also damaged a few months back. Both vehicle we immaculatly done. I highly recommend them.

Kevin is amazing. He was recommended by a friend. I've been here a few times for work on my 2004 bmw. He communicates very well via text message and I would get picture updates of my car's progress and all the parts. He also helped me by explaining what was wrong and why it was broken and what needed to be fixed. When i would come to pick up my car, he'd show me the boxes of the parts that were installed, so I knew of the brand etc.
Not only did he help fix my car and keep it maintained, but he taught me a bunch about the car parts too (things that are good to know).
Prices are as good as you can find, the work is top notch, service top notch, would recommend to everyone.

I came here the other day with my 2 year old daughter. My civic rarely has caused me any problems since I purchased it in 2010, but, a few days ago, I noticed the a/c wasn't blowing cool air. After about 10 min driving it, it would cool down slightly....but still not cold. I know A/C work/parts can be pricey, and I was leery about taking my car anywhere. Especially since I'm not super knowledgeable about cars. Everywhere I looked charged around 90-100 for a diagnostic, which I was about ready to do at ntb. I found out the location we go to doesn't do a/c, so I found Master Auto Care on yelp, and decided to give it a go since it had such great reviews. Well, folks, the reviews are correct. Kevin is great. Took him about an hour working on my car, and he kept coming back in the office to tell me what he was doing and what was wrong. Was a simple freon charge and cleaning of the condenser. He charged me $70. He could have easily charged me $130, and I would have paid still. Nice, honest business. Plus his wife or coworker (not exactly sure, she came in the office while we were waiting and was filling the fridge) saw my toddler getting impatient and gave her an ice cream. Just nice, good, people. And my car works great! :)

He also he explains what he is working on and informs me off stuff i can get sone later. I highly recommend Master Auto Care for when you need work done on your car.

The guy Kevin that works here's an oldee Korean and family friend of ours and he does excellent service at a very great price! He doesn't haggle and is very generous -- he gave me a new air filter for my car because I didn't have one when I bought it used from a Lot in Fairfax if I wrote a great Yelp review for him!

Kevin, the owner and proprietor of Master Auto Care, is the best in the business. I almost hate to leave such a glowing review because I do not want him to get so busy that he doesn't have time for me and my 3 cars. I have seen Kevin deal with something small and seemingly insignificant (and it really was), but he couldn't let it go. He had to go into his shop and get better parts and put them on. This was a small thing, but it showed me his attention to detail. (Plus the parts were small, the time was small and he didn't charge me.)
I had taken my newest car into the dealer for a recall notice. While there, they said the power steering fluid was leaking and they gave me an estimate of several thousand dollars to do an overhaul. Because of the price, I said I would need to think about it. I took it to Kevin and he checked it out and said basically, there may be a leak, it's a small leak; the leak doesn't impact any other part of the engine; check your fluid levels and top it off as needed. This was over two years ago and he was right. The fluid has barely declined (in fact, it's clearly in the range of tolerance) and the car runs fine. I could give you plenty of other examples. He's an honest mechanic who won't steer you into work you don't need.
I've been coming here for over 10 years now.

I've been coming to Master Auto Care since I was in high school and I've never had a bad experience here.
Kevin always takes good care of my car and I can trust that he won't try and charge extra services on me. He explains to me what needs to be done and why instead of just telling me what needs to fixed and sending me on my way.
I recently came by here when I failed my inspection at a Sunoco and they told me I needed both brakes replaced and one of my shocks were leaking. Kevin found that my front brakes were fine and that the technicians at Sunoco were trying to up charge me in order to get commission off the parts. I'm so glad I came by here and got it checked out by Kevin. He is really knowledgeable and kind and will work with you to fix your car for a reasonable price.

We took my our daughter's car to Kevin twice. The first time, he was ok. The second time, he charged us 180, and only changed the oil, but did do some damage....when we picked up the car it was making a clicking noise that it had never made before. We said something to him, and he said it was normal. We stated it was NOT normal for this car. He then said he was too busy to look at it and walked away. A few days later, we got a check engine light. It turns out, he had removed the vacuum hose, and didn't put it back on correctly, and it didn't seal. He also broke some rubber mounts off of the air pump. Needless to say, we will never go back to Master Auto Care.

My wife stopped by with our two small kids because the car was making a loud noise. Turned out it was a broken exhaust pipe. These guys diagnosed the problem and fixed it super quick, even staying late to do so. They even took care of some of the scratches on my car's paint. It was truly awesome!

Trustworthy, reliable, and fast service. I've had lots of issues with my car and have taken it to multiple mechanics but have never felt satisfied until I came here. I got my cat converter replaced because it was leaking. I appreciate that he tried to weld the piece first even though it wasn't worth salvaging because it was a bad piece. On another occasion, he resolved the mystery of why my engine light was on- a replacement of an ignition coil. The price was just right and he even replaced my headlight for free. I will continue to go here for any issues with my car and recommend this service for all vehicles.

I have been coming here for years. Honest, reasonably priced, very friendly and great customer service. I was referred by a friend and have been referring friends every since. Kevin is a fantastic mechanic. He is very knowledgeable and honest. I have been coming to him for more than 3 years. He is very busy most of time, because his shop gives great service. He is well known and trusted among many, and gets the job faster than any dealership shop I have ever been too. I have recommended my family and friends and they are all happy to have found a wonderful mechanic.

Kevin is an honest and skilled mechanic. He did an excellent job showing me my car's issues to make me comfortable he was repairing an actual problem and not just something to charge me more. After the repair was done he even showed me the old parts so that I knew they were actually replaced. He also quoted a very fair price, did not try to up sell anything, did the work quickly, and kept me updated throughout the repair process. Service like this is rare, therefore I highly recommend this shop.

I stopped by today because my brake light wouldn't turn off. When I got there Kevin immediately came to greet me and look at it. He and a junior mechanic were able to fix it in about 15 mins flat. He also charged 1/5 of what the dealer quoted me. Great experience, would totally recommend!

My roommate recommended Kevin for my brakes. The dealership had quoted me $3,500 to replace the master cylinder on my Tundra which has less than 60k miles. Kevin checked the brake system and the master cylinder was perfectly fine. He checked the brake fluid and found air in the lines which he was able to take care of on the spot.
Kevin took care of the problem for $100! I'm so glad ice found an awesome mechanic close to home.

Kevin Hwang is the best! I don't know much about cars but my brother and dad always told me to just go see him and have him deal with my old Honda Civic. Our family has been going to Master Auto Care for over 8 years and will continue to go there.
A couple days ago I had to go see him because my car failed VA state inspection. The Honda dealership gave me an estimated cost of about $1,700.00 for all the parts I have to fix and he only charged me less than $800.00. Kevin kindly informed me that it's not that dealerships are trying to rip you off but they have set the charges for all of their clients. He is trustworthy who is informative and reasonable with costs.

I know nothing about a car, but as long as Kevin is around, I'm all set! He's super honest and diligent. He finds cheap solutions to big problems. I thought I almost had to change the transmission, but apparently, all I had to do was fill up the transmission oil! I had done some maintenance with other mechanics (like merchant's) because of proximity from home but I regret it so much. The part I thought I replaced before was still original, and I just can't trust any other guys anymore. Highly recommended.

I took my '04 Hyundai Tiburon to Kevin, the owner of Master Autocare and mechanic that took care of my car. I had an issue with the Airbag/SRS light on and needed the code to see what was causing the light to pop up every time I started the car. I liked that I was shown what he was doing to my Tib and he was honest about the car issues, and provided options for the issue. Like others have mentioned, customers are treated fairly and Master Autocare will not con you. Repeat business.

Solved a huge problem
I had taken my daughter's car to one mechanic and the dealer; after $1,000 it still lost power while driving. We were ready to junk it when a colleague recommended Master Auto Care.
Kevin solved the problem for $100! (it was the battery clamps and wires!)
Needless to say I go out of my way to bring our cars to Kevin.

I have been to so many other mechanics and I always felt they were ripping my money off with unnecessary recommendations.
One of my friends suggested this place Master Auto Care and I went in with the same worried feeling, but the owner blew me away in such a good way.
He showed me (even though I don't know about cars as much) what was the problem and also showed me the new products and compared them in front of me. So I could see the actual problems with my own eyes. It was informational and I started trusting the fix.
The best part about this place was the price!
I brought in an estimate from a different place and the owner was so kind enough to help me out with such nice prices. I was worried because if I got them done at a different place, it could have costed me about $1000. Of course there were some unnecessary things on the list. So he took those out and made my price down to half.
This is my first time writing a review and I am telling you, this is the place to go.

I had my engine light on for a while, so I took my car to a Mazda dealership to run a diagnostic test. Not only they charged me $120 for that, but they also quoted me $920 for works they told me to get done. They also told me if I don't get something fixed soon, I would fail the emission test.
Me being skeptical about the dealership, I asked my fellow Korean netizens where to go for trustworthy/honest auto places around DMV area, and they recommended me this place. I called and explained the issues to the owner, and he told me I can either come in real quick, so he can take a look or bring the car in when the engine light comes on again since my car is not in any danger for stopping in the middle of the road, which I did. The light came back on couple weeks later.
Long story short, I was very happy with the job they did and the price.. And more importantly, the owner's passion about his job definitely made me believe that my car is in good hands.
I would recommend this place to my friends and people I know anytime. I'm so glad to finally find a great place for my car and I'll be one of many repeated customers I saw that day.

Kevin is an AMAZING mechanic. He fixed my car last minute and did it to where I was charged less than the estimate. After all that he noticed my car handle was broken and fixed it right up with the right screw--told me if it breaks again, bring it back! Very professional, and seems to be an expert in his field! Would absolutely recommend him to anyone I know!

Very friendly and hardworking staff. They're always honest and never try to sell you on things you don't need. Kevin does a good job explaining what the problems are in layman's terms so you can understand what's really going on with your car. He even takes pictures/videos so you see for yourself whats going on with your car. Prices are always fair and reasonable compared to other mechanics. I would highly recommend Master Auto Care to anyone.

They do respect customers even though they are women. Some place don't. My car got brake pad replacement about two years ago from the other place in Annandale. but it started making weird sound. I do drive kinda aggressively. but it is not worn that so fast.
I have a problem with the shaking handle and tire, and one of my friend recommended this place. even though I told them nothing about the brakes, they found out the problem in them. and I found out the brake pads replaced in the other place was cheap ones, which I paid OVER price for them!!!!!!!!
Master Auto Care is HONEST and GOOD in what they are doing.

Finally - a mechanic not looking to scam me! Every time I went to the dealership for an oil change they would give me a laundry list of things I needed done - all over $1000. Because I'm a woman who knows nothing about cars I was their perfect con victim.
My check engine light had come on (again) and the dealership told me that I needed my water pump immediately replaced to to the tune of $870 in addition to other services totalling $1250. Since I just had over $1000 worth of work done at the dealership two months before where they didn't catch all these other "problems" I decided to get a second opinion. I was glad I finally did. Should have done this a year ago.
Master Auto Care told me my water pump was just fine and didn't need replacing at all. They showed me in the car where the water pump was and then showed me a problem that the dealership should have caught and didn't---- my left front strut was leaking oil all over the tire hub. They showed me the oil leak with a flashlight and also showed me the damaged strut once they removed it from my car and compared it to a new strut. When I came to pick up my car they were cleaning my headlights for me and when I asked them about the solution they were using to clean it- they told me where I could buy it and how much it cost and then they actually gave me the bottle. So rather than spending almost $900 on something I didn't need, I only spent $300 on something I clearly did need. I noticed a difference in how my car sounded over speed bumps and when braking on the way home.
I will definitely be recommending this place and returning here for car maintenance work. They seem honest and diligent with their work and didn't treat me like an idiot.

Been taking my cars to Kevin since 2001 after Master Auto Care was recommended to me by a friend. I have since recommended their auto service to everyone I know! Not only do they do great work, but they only fix what needs repair, and at a very reasonable price. Very honest and reputable. Even if you don't live in NoVa, Master Auto Care is worth it for the peace of mind. In a service industry, repeat business means everything. Thanks!

I took my car in for a ETC (Electronic Throttle Control) problem. I chose Master Auto Care because of the good ratings here on Yelp! So, at first I was a bit skeptical on whether the ratings were true. Well, let me tell you, don't be skeptical. Kevin from Master Auto Care is the real deal. The dealership I usually take my car to was trying to charge me 550 dollars to get my car up and running. Kevin did it for 40 dollars!!! And I loved how he was willing to allow me to see under my hood and told me what he was going to do in advance. I felt so comfortable in trusting that he wasn't going to rip me off. I will be using Master Auto Care for all my automotive needs for now on.

Seriously these are the only trustworthy honest mechanics in the area! I've had a Volvo and Toyota highlander and they told me what they could do given the limitations w the electronics on the Volvo and provided great service for the Highlander at a 1/3 of the price. I generally do work on my car on my own or with the help of friends, so I rarely allow myself to experience the usual horrid, rip-off service of auto care businesses. This time though, I didn't feel like completing the work.
I had called several other shops in the area for their estimates for my particular vehicle's ailment (replacing ONE rotor with my part that I brought to them); I received numbers from $50 (for what they thought would be only a half hour's work) to $210 (for two hours' work), all without guarantee of a set price. I personally knew it would take the servicemen longer than shorter considering my hub has to be pressed on and off (versus simply hammered off), yet still no one could give me a set price. "It all depended on the mechanic's efficiency in completing the work." Well that's a load of BS; who's not going to dilly dally for longer if they could?
From my experience of the work itself, I consider the head mechanic/owner (Kevin Hwang) to have offered an honest estimate that was in between the two values listed above, stated it would be a 2-hour finish time, and guaranteed the price.
My mother apparently has brought her SUV here several times in the past years for repairs and has felt very good about the service she had received at reasonable cost. I also found the head mechanic to be respectful (especially of the fact that I'm a woman who comes in knowing a little something about cars) and professional. The shop has several bays, so they have a high capacity for cars to be worked on at one time. The bays are also wide open for customers to watch the work being done if they so please, but I also see it as a statement of an honest business (as opposed to some auto care centers that close their garage doors behind the car being worked on or they are in a separate area where customers cannot easily access to view).

I have no idea what Kihun C. is talking about...Mr. Hwang is truly an incomparable mechanic. He's my go-to mechanic for all of my car's problems, and it's a well-deserved distinction. Mr. Hwang gives the most accurate, honest estimates (he doesn't lowball or overcharge), and since my car is a 2001 model it has had its share of problems. Never had to overpay. Amazing, to say the least.

Woke up one morning to find my car wouldn't start. On the recommendation of a friend, I took it over here - good service, things were clear and explained to me, and there was a good sense of trust. Kind of intangible, I know, but after I got my car back, I felt good. His estimates also kept going down, not up - how often does that happen when you get your car fixed? Would definitely come back (not that I really want to make repeat visits to a mechanic).
