$88 for an oil change. Was charged for 5 oil filters rather than 5 quarts of oil. Went back to discuss this with the employee and said "someone must have made a mistake typing it" . Did not offer me a refund. This specific employee was rude and did nothing to explain how an oil change could cost that much. Scum

The best place to have your car serviced, seriously. Here's why: honesty. They always only fix what's needed and never build up the bill with extras you don't need. You would think that every garage does this but they don't. I've had bills padded with extras lots of places, especially chain service centers. Aberdeen only does what's needed and their rates are good. Appointments are usually available quickly and they are agreeable to let you drop off in advance or leave the car there if you can't pick it up right away. If the car needs something that only the dealer can do they let you know right away. But they can address nearly anything a car needs. I seriously don't go anywhere else.

I always trust Aberdeen. They don't try to scam you when you bring your car in. They might be a few dollars more for an oil change than a chain mechanic but it is more than worth it because you know you are getting honest advice and quality service. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

I stop by for gas all the time, but today, I wanted something from their service shop.
This was a phone conversation I had with one of their employees.
Me: Hi, do you fill up transmission fluid?
Man: Yes.
Me: Would you have time to do it now?
Man: No, we're closed today, but we open again on Monday, if you want to come in then.
Me (preparing to hang up): Oh, I wanted to get it done today, but thank you.
Man: You're not going to find anyone to do it today. Most people are closed for the weekend.
Me: Uh, okay. Thanks.
He was curt, and though he suggested that I come in on Monday, I didn't appreciate that he said I wouldn't be able to find anyone to do it today because everyone is closed (which is not true).

I took my car here to get a tire patched. Not only were the employees sullen and rude, but the tire deflated again a day later. They didn't even offer to refund me when I took it back in and politely explained the situation, and they said they wouldn't be able to fix it for several days. I am taking the car elsewhere and will have it repaired by tomorrow. So in short, they were rude, didn't even fix my problem, and didn't seem to really care about making it right. Awful experience in every way.

i decided to NOT take my car here EVER for a repair based on the following conversation:
me: hi, my car turns over, but won't start. this means i need to replace either the crankshaft sensor, fuel pump or a starter coil (my uncle's a mechanic in California). can you give me a ballpark estimate for each of these repairs? I understand there may be additional work, but I just want your best guesstimate. Also, I live 1/4 mile away, do you have any towing arrangements with a local company?
aberdeen: no, i can't give you an estimate; and we don't have towing arrangements you'll have to pay tommy's towing to bring it in, so we can look at it.
me: your website says you guys have been in business for 25+ years, so you must do quite a few of these repairs per year, and you cannot give me guesstimate?
aberdeeen: no, I have no idea.
me: can you get someone who does know what it's likely to cost on the phone?
aberdeen: no, we don't know until we look at it.
me: thanks i'll go elsewhere from now on.
this SCREAMS SCAMMER to me, and it's unfortunately rampant in the auto repair industry. my uncle's honest, and regularly provides guesstimates that are properly qualified. he's proud he never screwed anyone and does an honest quality job for a fair price.
the SCAM is this: they want me to pay to tow it there, and if you don't like the very high price they'll quote, you have to pay to tow it elsewhere. in contrast, my uncle does NOT overcharge just because a car is towed in--he said many charge 50% more when it's towed in.
MY ADVICE: definitely avoid.
