Kyle has been great to deal with in my first experience with Essex County Auto. He was recommended by a friend and I can see why. I needed a lot of work done and we spoke several times during the process to discuss the issues and the options I had, as well as cost and order of importance for the work needed. Communication is high on the list for me, and Kyle was quick about getting back to me via-email and phone.

I brought my 09 Toyota Tacoma in to Kyle for new tires and maintenance at 60K. The maintenance checklist was lengthy, but the work was done in one day including the new tire replacement and the cost was right inline with my expectations. He also noticed my bed liner was loose, so he tightened the bolts. I'm glad he did that because the truck is so quiet now. I had been driving it around for long with the bed liner being loose that I stopped paying attention to the banging coming from the bed. I'm super happy with the work completed.

The main thing I look for in a mechanic is someone I can trust who can fix my car for a reasonable price. Kyle is not only honest with me about what needs to be repaired, but he also finds ways to save me money. He has consistently recommended to me less expensive parts that he felt would last about as long. He has also told me to wait to do certain repairs until it was more necessary. In addition to being trustworthy, Kyle always fixes my car right the first time and gets it done on time. Bottom line, Kyle is the best as his craft and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of car repair.

I've used Essex County Auto a few times over the last few months on 2 of my vehicles (my 2004 Honda and my wife's Mercury minivan). Kyle was very reasonably priced and did great work. He also took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done in a way that I could understand and broke down the repairs in order of importance. I trust him with my family minivan which carries what's most important to me, so it should go without saying I would recommend you stop by and see him!

This place does great work at a fair price. Kyle is extremely professional and knowledgeable and has helped me out numerous occasions with my car. He always talks me through what work needs to be done before he repairs it and even drops me off at my house when i take the car in for work. I live about a mile away. I also had him check out my "new" used vehicle before i purchased it. I will be bringing my new car to him as well for any work.

After a horrible experience with the local Toyota dealer, I decided to call around for quotes. Boy, am I glad I called here.
The service is excellent. We are a 1 car family, and they took me home and picked me up the day they had my car, the quote given was spot on, and most of all, I felt a level of honesty from the owner. We finally found a great auto shop, and they will continue to get our service for as long as we remain in the area.
Oh, and bonus. He fixed my taillights in just a few minutes...saving me hassle and headache. I'm so thankful we found this place.

When asked what makes a great mechanic most will come up with technical, mechanical, or troubleshooting skills.
Kyle has shown me what really makes a great mechanic.
He has all of the above skills but he has two outstanding qualities that will keep me going back to him as long as he is in business.
These qualities are honesty and integrity.
On multiple occasions I brought my jeep Cherokee to him and thought I was going to be spending big money to fix it. First time I had it towed to him because it would not start. Turned the key and nothing. I thought and was prepared to pay for a battery, a starter, and an alternator. He could have told me I needed any combo of these and I would have paid him with out question. He called me in 4 hours and said to pick it up. I was charge 1/2 an hour troubleshooting and he replaced 3 feet of wire that I was not charged for because he had it kicking around the shop.
The second time I brought my girlfriend's Jeep Liberty to him because the breaks were making a grinding sound. My expectations were new brakes and was accepting that I would probably have to pay for front and maybe even back brakes. Again I would have paid what ever he told me was wrong because I have no clue. Within 2 hours of dropping it off he called and said come pick it up and that he found a stone in-between the brake pad and there would be no charge.
Kyle didn't make any money on this job but has earned a life time customer and I will always recommend him to my friends, family, co workers and anyone who I can.
Try this shop you too will become a life time loyal customer.

In the auto repair world, the solution these days seems to be throw as many parts at it until it starts working again. I own a tree service, and operate a fleet of trucks, so that tactic doesn't bode well for my bottom line.
After trying out SEVERAL local "mechanics" (they should be called "parts swappers" these days), I came across Kyle and and quickly realized he is an actual "MECHANIC". He has spent time diagnosing, researching, and repairing a multitude of issues with my fleet since last year, sometimes on the weekends, and late into the night. Not only has he saved my company precious downtime, I know that the repairs have been done properly, and that I can rely on them to hold up.

It's hard to find an auto mechanic that you trust. I trust Kyle not to screw me over, and charge me for stuff that I don't need. He takes his time and checks things out in a thorough way. He's worked on two of my cars and I'd recommend him to anyone. He's great and responsive. He told me what I needed to get done and I trusted him to fix it right the first time.
