I have brought in my 2005 Nissan Murano (188k miles) to Nick's the past year with a variety of issues , running from small and simple oil and filter changes to changing tire rods, alternators and the exhaust system to name a few . Nick has been courteous and straightforward with the repairs that needed to be done to the car. Their was no up-selling whatsoever. I haven't had to bring my car back to Nick for anything that he repaired, it was done correctly and professionally. Nick's prices were extremely fair and reasonable and his work was impeccable. I would highly recommend anyone looking for car repairs to bring it over to Nicks.

Amazing job doing my VW Passat...

Amazing job doing my VW Passat 1999 front control arms (4 upper and 4 lower), sway bar links and outer tie rods. I shopped around in 5-6 places for labor only, as I've got parts bought online, got the best price from Nick ($300) while others were starting at $350-$375+. Some crazy person from craigslist even quoted me $600 for this job... Nick promptly called me when the car was ready (unlike some other shop on Mass Ave which I had to chase by phone..) After such control arms swap one is supposed to do wheel alignment, my car was pulling right after GoodyearGemini alignment this May, Nick didn't commit to do alignment as laser equipment is needed for that - I was aware of this. To my big surprise - just with a ruler Nick managed to set steering wheel straight and car doesn't pull to any side. Also all knocks and squeeks are gone after control arms replacement just as I expected!! Besides Nick is a honest, courteous and gentle person, so unusual to meet in auto repair business, and he's also professional in VWs and Audis family. I wish I found him earlier! Highly recommended for your VW/Audi. He also does other Europeans but I only brought to him my VW.

Brought my car for a tune up and wheel bearing replacement. Afterwards, he showed me the parts and went out his way to install "platinum tipped spark plugs" instead of cheaper alternatives. It really felt like he treated my car as his own and he has made me a loyal customer.

This place is amazing! I called at 2pm the Friday before July 4th. My car started to sound like a motorcycle and it was clear something was wrong with the exhaust. Having to leave that same day for a trip to NH I was desperate to get into a place and have it checked out. After calling 4 places who were all booked up Nick told me to come right in. He put it on the lift and took the time to show me what was wrong.
I asked if he could fix it in the next couple of hours so I could get up to NH. He looked to see if he had the part, (thankful he did) and he got right to work. Less then 2 hours later I had a new exhausted and for a very reasonable price.
Nick was fast, kind and respectful.
He even took the time to explain to me that the new exhausted might have a funny smell at first and not to worry. Very helpful to a girl who knows nothing about cars.
I will definitely be returning here for future car repairs.

Searched Yelp looking for pre purchase inspection, and found this store. So I sent a quote request. It was replied in one day with a pretty reasonable price. So I called this place several days later once I got the car. Nick fitted me for a afternoon time. He was so skilled and professional.
First, he had a road test with the car. After that he check the exterior and engine part and then lifted it up to check the bottom of the car, including wheels, brakes etc. He gave me his thought about the car, which is nice. As the car is pretty new with a very low mileage, it took around 15 minutes. Only for his service I would give it 5 stars.
When I asked him how can I pay for it, he said "don't mention it". What a incredible thing. 5 stars, no doubt!

I needed an oil change for my prius 2010!
I called Nicks Auto and got a very good price and time with no wait! That was very nice!
It was no wait and price was super good for full synthetic!
Before this oil change i try 2 different stations, and they couldn't take my oil filter holder, but here everything went very good and easy!
I recommend Nicks Auto for any kind of car check or repair, the guy is very honest and can give you a good advise!
Its always frustrating to go for car service, but you will feel very satisfied!

Just had my car serviced by Nick, it's a 2007 Passat wagon, with high miles. I initially went with Nick because of his Yelp reviews, and because he agreed to install a part I already had. When I arrived, I mentioned another issue I was having with the car and he said he'd look into it.
He started working on my car right away, and called me after the quoted time. I was impressed with his honesty and recommendations for repairs that should be done. He obviously knew the engine and car very well, and I asked him to do a second repair on the car that day. He called to let me know it was finished around 4, and I hopped in an Uber from Dorchester. I got stuck in some unusually heavy northbound traffic, and called at about 4:45. Nick was awesome, he waited for me to arrive and still showed me the issues he had repaired. I won't be late again, but his flexibility was appreciated.
If you're looking for an auto mechanic that is thorough, very knowledgable and honest, you have to visit.

I called Nick's and made an appointment last week. Really casual, just "take it in after we open, any time!"
Brought my car to the shop in the morning. It was pretty easy to spot, right next to a gas station.
I wanted some brakes replaced, and had a check-engine light on, which I had previously checked as a secondary intake issue, but didn't want to mess around with fixing myself since it seemed tricky to diagnose.
Nick called me back in an hour with a quote, and also offered to get the car reinspected since it had an "R" inspection sticker on it. It was really nice not to have to make a second trip to get that done, awesome!
I got a call several hours later that the car was ready to pick up. I went to get it, and Nick went through everything on the bill line by line with me. Everything seemed really reasonable - parts costs were what I would have paid, and labor was included too. It's nice to have a reasonably priced Audi tech!
He had fixed the check-engine light as well as replaced a headlight that I hadn't noticed / been able to fix for the inspection, and replaced my rear brakes. He also told me about a couple of other potential problems to work on, and gave me a quote, but didn't pressure me at all about doing those repairs right then.
I'm glad to have found Nick's since moving to the area. It's hard to find a good mechanic! I'll definitely be back for repairs that I can't do myself.
To save you some time, Nick's office is towards the back of the garage bays, to the right, behind the gas station attendant's office.

Found nicks auto repair on yelp. I have been looking for a place to bring my car for a while. I'm glad I decided to give nick a shot. I brought in my Camry and told him about my brake and service light problem and he told me the price and when I could of expect it back. To my surprise he fixed everything and even a few other things that he did not charge. Other shops would of included it. Got my car back paid what he told me and the car is running great. I'm glad I brought him my car and I'll be going back. I would definitely recommend him to others. 5 star service. Thank nick.

Just got my car fixed. Amazing fast service, and the money was right! Nick is fast and efficient. Had my car in and out quick and good as new!
I knew I needed a new exhaust system but he didn't pressure me into doing it right away.
I was worries because driving a VW I know repairs can be costly and not everyone knows my German car very well, but it's driving better than before I came in!

Brought my car into Nick's after it started making a really nasty rattling/clicking sound. Nick figured out it was a few bits of rust from a heat shield that chipped off and was rattling around a part of the engine. He took the bits out, cleaned it up, and had me ready to go in just a few hours, and refused to charge me for the work. Nick is a class act and I will definitely be bringing my car back there.

We have a ten year old BMW that wouldn't start. We just moved here from Chicago and didn't know where to take it. We saw the great reviews and figured we'd give him a chance. We were thrilled with his professionalism. He spread out all the parts and explained them to me why they needed replacing... all I heard was the voice of a parent in a Peanut's cartoon speaking - I had no idea what he was saying. But he came across very honest and sincere and we appreciated that. The price was very reasonable.

Found Nick through various internet searches for a VW mechanic. After the reading all the reviews I added him to my list to call. He ended up being my first and only call! He gave me a preliminary diagnosis over the phone and said to bring it in. When the car completely died and I couldn't drive it he didn't pass me off to some tow company, he recommended AAA - I felt that was a good sign.
Within 15min of dropping off the car Nick called and gave me the diagnosis and estimate. He also called to let me know when identified further work to be done. Lastly, he threw in my oil change.
The car was ready within a day of dropping it off and runs great now. Further, as another reviewer mentioned - Nick saved all the parts he took out of my car and showed them to me. It increased my confidence in him they he knew what he was doing and did it honestly. I'm glad to have found him and look forward to using him again.

Took my car here to put air in the tires and Nick came outside and offered to fill them for free in his shop. Like that wasn't a nice enough gesture, he also saw that I lost a wiper blade and in .2 seconds had a brand new one on there for me. It's a rare day when a woman goes to a repair shop and isn't taken advantage of. Not only was he genuine and kind, but his place was so clean!! I brought my car to Nick's for some front end work that had been diagnosed at another shop that was a little too rich for my blood. Nick was friendly and gave me a quick quote over the phone that was very competitive with other mechanics in the area (I had called around to 5-6 other shops in the Boston area for a price since this was the first time I was using a mechanic around here). It's a small 1 man shop, which is nice because when you pick it up you can talk to the guy who actually worked on your car as opposed to maybe just someone at the front desk. His garage is immaculate, which tells me he's well organized and if he takes such good care of his garage you have to imagine he does the cars he works on as well. The repair was quick, he showed me the worn out parts he took out of the car, and gave me a heads up to something I will need to get fixed soon. I would not hesitate to go back for future work.

Just left Nick's this afternoon.
Had a short interaction this afternoon when I was told by a "mechanic" that I needed to replace my tie rods to fix the aggressive shaking and thumping of my front left tire.
I showed up at Nick's this afternoon, dropped it off to have the work done tonight/tomorrow (Saturday), and he calls 5 minutes later to inform me there is nothing wrong.
Townfaire Tire failed twice to properly tighten my lug nuts on my wheels and therefore the shaking and thumping.
Nick had me come back, point out the issue, and I was free to go, no charge. Honest guy, who could have of taken advantage.

I don't know why Yelp is hiding all the great reviews for this guy. I've had him do work on my 1998 BMW a couple times, and it's almost scary how much this guy knows. He understands how these cars wear down over time, what really is a likely to become a problem, and what isn't, and he doesn't just tell you something is wrong, if you'll let him he will show you what is wrong and explain why it's bad. On top of all that, he's very inexpensive. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Nick's Auto Service is a great shop. My car was having issues with the brakes and when I took it to the Toyota dealer in Lexington, they told me I needed to replace both the front and rear brakes at a cost of over $1000. Based on a Yelp review I took my car to Nick and based on my description of what was happening he told me exactly what he thought the problem was and how much it would cost (before he even looked at the car). Just to make sure he pulled the car right into the shop put it up on the lift and pulled off the tires to show me that the front brakes and rotors needed repair but that the rear were fine. The total cost....$326.88. I asked him when he could fit the car in and he said leave it there and it would be a ready in a few hours.
I went home and sure enough, a few hours later got a phone call that the car was ready. When I arrived Nick explained exactly what he did and that the only thing I still should do is fix the alignment and balance the tires, which his shop does not do, but he recommended another shop close by that would.
The service, honesty, price and attention to detail at this shop are definitely worth five stars. Thanks Nick!
