Took my 02 Malibu in for apparent over-heating problems. With 151000+ miles was thinking water pump? Turned out to be faulty sensor. MUCH CHEAPER. And although they were short handed, were able to get me fixed up quickly. Than ks guys!

Got their name from the CA DMV site. For once, the government came thru. This is a great shop as they're friendly and didn't talk down to me because I'm female. I only needed the smog inspection and ppwork but I will return soon with a tuneup request and also my husband's old truck that he won't get rid of. OK I know this is probably a female oriented comment but, they had the best magazines, Natl Geographic and readers digest. Not all tattered and dusty either. Thank you for your great service.

This shop is a hidden gem. I came here after getting a few ridiculously over inflated quotes for replacing the front brake pads on my Audi.
Other shops wanted to replace the rotors which I suspected was unnecessary, the car has only 20k miles and otherwise brakes fine. At Autotech, unlike the other shops, they took off the wheel and inspected the rotors, and told me they were in good condition and thickness and that they would be able to machine the rotors instead of replacing them. They also scanned the computer to make sure the worn pads were the only reason why the brake light was on.
By actually examining the car and figuring out what the issue was they saved me more than four hundred dollars. I should add that Autotech does charge about $50 to do a brake inspection, but that fee is waved if you do the repair with them so no big deal.
Now the car brakes perfectly and I appreciate the honest diagnostic and repair work performed by Autotech. Thanks Tony and crew!

This was AAA recommended business for my smog check I had completed 2 years ago prior... so I decided today to get maintenance work early this morning to get check engine light diagnosed for repair. My usual automotive shop close to my house had their AAA certification taken away... So I went ahead to Auto Tech to have 02 sensors replaced as well as oil change and replaced bulbs. Overall this place has friendly customer service and business worth considering.

Clearly one of the best auto repair shops in town. I appreciate the honesty of the staff to explain what I do and don't need. My car was serviced promptly, gave me a ride to work and back to pick me up. So in less than half a day, I have new brakes and feel much more secure knowing that Tony and his staff did the work.

My VW CC crapped out while moving from San Diego to Las Vegas - I was following my husband in his car, and our cars were full of our valuable stuff, and our six pets. We were towed here by AAA. AutoTech was AMAZINGLY accommodating to us - we had six pets, sitting in their lobby, while we waited 4 hours for Enterprise to bring us a car (which they never did - they were SOOO not accommodating). AutoTech was also very honest - they said upfront that because the car only had 20K miles, it was probably under warranty - we should get it to VW Riverside (the AAA tow driver said there wasn't a VW dealership anywhere in the near vicinity - another disappointment). We left the VW at AutoTech - they were able to fix it for $250 (which would be cheaper than the deductible on my extended warranty), put all of the pets in the one car, and continued on to Vegas. Not only did they do the repair on my car, they held it, and some of our house belongings until we could return several days later to pick up the car. They are outstanding, thoughtful, thorough, and honest. HIGHLY recommended.

Very happy with this business. I recently took our 20-year-old Miata in for air-conditioning work and my tundra pickup for minor repairs. It was nice to see that Jared was back to work. Tony ensured that everything got done and is always easy and more than pleasant to talk with. Tony also referred me to another business for some specialty work. Also they do smog checks now.

ANOTHER A+ ADDED TO THE LIST: Tony Solorio is the owner and has known my Uncle for many years, so when this 1994 Ford Cougar had to go to my house (because my Uncle could not keep it at his) I was told that if the car needed repairs then it must go to AutoTech. I have been there many times for this car and each time Jared and the whole staff treat me like I am the owner (great customer service). I have told others about this shop because Tony and his staff are truly fantastic people to do business with and my Uncle was right about making sure that his car is always serviced by them. It is a blessing to know that they will always be there when I need them regarding this car.

Don't go there, he's s liar and a cheat. Made us drive over 2 hours and wasted our whole thanksgiving morning. He is s crook. Stay away from this business. He buys and sells cars without a dealers license and repairs cars just enough to run less than a week. We took our car there for an oil change, after we left his business, our cars transmission started leaking. He creates more work for himself, just so he stays in business. Before you take your car to this dishonest individual, get a second opinion.

The mechanics here really know what they are doing we bring our whole fleet here to be serviced. We (California Showcase Construction) have many vehicles that need maintenance and repairs. The thing about Auto Tech is they are not the cheapest but like the saying goes "You get what you pay for". They do an excellent job and handle everything in a timely manner. We have had may mechanics over the years and they by far are the best at what they do. From our Isuzu Trucks to our personal vehicles it is a relief to know that we do not have to look anywhere else for a shop. The difference is Tony he is the owner and is deeply involved with his business. He works hard and it shows. Thanks Auto Tech!

Damaged my vehicle, was unable to fix it, then refused to cover the repair costs.
Took my MINI Cooper in for a water pump replacement (~$700). Unable to consistently start my car after getting it back. Had my car towed back the next day to see what the problem was. It started for them and they claimed it was the immobilizer. Once back home, it would not start again. Had it towed to Autotech a second time. After 4 days, they could not determine the problem and admitted that they did not have the proper tools to diagnose. They recommended I get it towed to a dealer.
Had it towed to another mechanic that was able to identify the problem: the wiring harness that passes over the water pump was crushed (tool marks pressed into the insulation) and torn. All of the wires were bright copper (i.e. no dust or oxidation = new damage). There has been no other engine bay repairs for over 18 months.
I presented documentation to the owner, Tony Solorio, including my request that he refund the original Autotech repair costs, which totaled less than the harness repair and towing fees. Tony claimed that the wires appeared to have been chewed and that there was no way Autotech could have been responsible for the damage. He refused my offer to look at the harness in person. Autotech has opted to allow third party arbitrators to decide.

I came in for a smog on my sons car. My son is over seas in the Navy & it was due to register it. AAA gave me this place. I am so glad they did.Tony was SWAMPED! He treated every customer with respect and gave his attention to everyone. My sons car wouldn't read on computer, rather then "RIPPING ME OFF" he suggested we change fuse's! Perfect I told him. He got it on machine, changed fuses and I was out of there in no time with my passed SMOG! Tony is HONEST, he has gained my business as well as our family. THANK YOU TONY!

I took my Scion xD to Toyota of Riverside for a six-month service. The dealer said I needed a front brake job on a two-year-old car after less than 14500 mis. Disbelieving and angry that this car would need new brakes so soon, I took the car to Autotech who cleaned and adjusted the rear brakes, replaced the engine air filter and said the car did not need new front brake pads at this time. I am happy that I didn't rely on the dealer's word.

A/C repair has been a horrible experience on my dodge ram diesel. Wouldn't blow cold air, they told me basically it WAS cold and problem was in my head. After over a month of no air and 1200.00 spent, they finally said their compressor they installed was faulty. Still charged me another 400 to fix it. That was 2 weeks ago and my air just stopped working AGAIN. We will see if they try and tell me it's just in my sweaty head this time.

Newer management is a disappointment. Started going here when michael was in charge.. very top notch service. I took my moded honda to them for a pre-test for smog and they simply don't know how to handle aftermarket parts. They were confused by my AEM short ram intake which is carb legal and has the sticker on it. They charged me for an hours work while they looked my part up on the computer (which was completely unnecessary). I ended up taking my car to another shop downtown who did my smog no problem and it was totally legal. They told me they had no idea why autotech couldn't just smog me right then and there. To be fair autotech was just trying to be thorough so as to not do anything illegal.. but they didn't know what they were doing and ended up costing me time and money.
What was the most disappointing was customer service because they kept forgetting to call me back to let me know when I could bring my car in (because their smog guy went on vacation). I got so tired of calling them to ask when he'll be back that I just stopped.. and they NEVER called me back. Boy did that make me feel like an unvalued customer.
To sum it up: Don't take your car here if you have aftermarket mods... and don't expect good customer service if your a college student because they don't treat you the same as their older local clients.

Went here last week with my 1999 Chrysler 300m and needed to get a leak checked in the radiator. Jared Told me they would charge me about 45.00 to do a diagnostic on my vehicle and tell me everything that was wrong. I waited about 3 hours and was given a call and told that the radiator was shot and I needed some hoses replaced and a couple other issues. I also had a test done to check the heads which I had a suspicion that they where blown which they said they didn't do for the original diagnostic which I thought was weird because if a vehicle heats up there is a small chance that the head gasket can be blown but thought OK how much for that test they said originally 40 and then 8 bucks for special Dye they put in the vehicle to make that determination. I told them that was they original reason I came in and they said that I came in for a leak I agreed and then asked for a small break which they gave me they did the test for 28 which I didn't feel ripped off. They did confirm my vehicles heads where blown. They told me the repair of the original problems excluding the Head gasket where totaling around 1300.00. I told them I already had a steady mechanic but I appreciated the information. All in all spent about 75 buck to find out lots of problems. Thanks guys I will be back for any other issues you may be able to help me with.

I started going to this shop when they were located on Blaine. Back then, I would have given them 5 stars. After their move, I took my truck in for a broken head gasket and that was when all the trouble began. My engine kept on stalling rendering my truck completely unreliable. When I brought it back several days later, I spoke with the owner Tony. As it turned out, the mechanic that worked on it went to jail right after I picked up my truck. Tony's exact words were "it is not Autotech's fault since the mechanic no longer works here." How is it that Autotech is not reasponsible for the repairs done when I wrote a check to Autotech for over a thousand dollars?
This occured several years ago when I was a student and had I known better, I would have reported this to the BBB. It took several hundred dollars and another shop to undo the bad work done here.
Good and honest mechanics exist out there and I am now very careful about where I go because of this experience. Maybe they still have some quality mechanics now, but I doubt Tony has changed. Beware of this shop!!!!
