I've always dreaded taking my car to a mechanic because I was worried that they were going to rip me off. My friend told me about Revive Auto, and said they were the most reliable honest auto repair shop he has ever been to, so I thought I might as well give them a chance since my check engine light was on and I was in desperate need for a oil change. I arrived at Revive Auto around 10am, there was 2 people being serviced when I walked in, but right when I walked it I was helped immediately which was a pleasant surprise considering you usually have to wait forever at mechanic shops. I told the mechanic that helped me all my issues and he said no worries he will take a look at it asap. within 30 minutes, I had received my oil change and a answer to my check engine light. It was nothing more then a silly clogged air filter. They could have told me it was anything, but they were honest and it made me feel comfortable to use them from that moment on. From that day I've used them for all my auto needs. I went in 2 weeks ago for a flat tire, received 4 brand new tired $80 cheaper then Discount & Belle Tire!!! I didn't even know they could come cheaper then that! They also accept foreign and luxury cars. my dad takes his Lexus and my moms Cadillac in there because he said they are the only ones he trusts with his babies. So if your looking for a good honest auto repair shop, Revive Auto is the ONLY place I would recommend to my friends and Family. If you want good honest advice and you want quality work done on your car or truck then revive is where you go!

I don't know what I would've done without Revive Auto repair. My car wasn't running and I took it to the dealership and they quoted me $1500 just to look inside of the engine I didn't have the money and I didn't know what I was going to do. I called Nick at Revive auto repair and he told me don't worry bring it and let's see what we can do. I had it towed in and from that moment that was the best thing I ever did because I walked out with a $500 bill and my car running perfectly and this was about three months ago. Thank you so much Revive Auto repair I don't know what I would've done without you, I refer all my friends there and everybody is so happy because they're half the price of everyone else.

Dishonest. And incompetent. Had my car towed in with what was probably a leak in the clutch hydraulics. They told me I needed a new clutch. Maybe, although I hadn't previously had any clutch problems. Then they said I also needed a new transmission. Maybe, although I hadn't previously had any transmission problems. They said they found a really good deal on a salvage transmission--$900. Two weeks and $2600 later I had my car back, but it didn't feel right. They bled the system again and assured me it was fine. So I went on my long-planned vacation trip. Got to Montana and the car broke down. Shop there said "you need a new transmission." Turns out Revive didn't actually replace the transmission--they just contracted with a transmission shop to replace the transmission housing, and when they put the old transmission parts back inside, they screwed it up. There were needle bearings loose inside the housing. The Montana shop also quoted $900 for a transmission--but that was actually a transmission, and they actually installed it correctly. Of course, I was out the $2600, plus another $1900 in Montana, plus hotel, rental car, and loss of my vacation.

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden I heard a clunking noise in my wheel, I pulled over to the side and noticed that my tire was sitting inside of my fender and I didn't know what to do because I was just about to go out of town. I called a dozen places and none of them could get it done even within a week as well as their price quotes were over $1000. By the time I called Revive auto repair I was frustrated and I knew they weren't going to help me, but I was wrong. Dakota walked out and got the keys to my vehicle and said don't worry will have this fixed up for you in a jiffy! I was a little doubtful but I had hope within three hours I was driving my vehicle and the bill only came to $350 which is a dramatic decrease from the thousands of dollars everybody else wanted to charge me! Thank you so much Revive Auto repair I tell everyone about you!

My friend brought his car in a while ago. Took them several times to fix his car every time he brought it back he said they always had some new reason that was wrong with it and charged him several hundred dollars every time. Then to top it all off they charged him with a towing bill for the mistake that they made... overall.. Horrible experience. Horrible service. Horrible place don't waste your time

I was in Troy when my car started acting weird. Check engine light kept blinking. Being a student, car repairs could be scary. I called revive auto and got an appointment in next 2 hours. Spoke to Nick about what was happening and he was able to diagnose my car and get it back running again. It didn't hurt my wallet that bad. I would definitely come back here again.

Who doesn't dread having to take their car in for repairs, and worry about being overcharged-- or worse, have the shop find imaginary things wrong with your car that cost a fortune?
I just started working in Birmingham, and was looking for a reputable shop in Oakland County to take my Jeep for a tune up and maintenance repairs.
Based on Yelp reviews, I went online and made an appointment with Revive. Almost immediately received a phone call from Nick, who set up an appointment for me, and quoted an estimate for my repairs.
Revive not only did what they said that they were going to do, but they did MORE than I expected for the price. Revive completed maintenance that the dealer should have been completing when I was taking the Jeep in for oil changes over the past 2 years. They completed the Repairs in a timely way, and gave me an accurate ETA on when I could expect to pick up the car.
My car feels like it runs better than it did when it was new. I got a very fair price for good, timely work from a friendly, reliable shop.
I will be recommending Revive to anyone who asks, and will be a long time, repeat customer.

Since moving here from California, I have definitely had a difficult time finding a reliable and affordable mechanic. Since I am Vietnamese, I even tried to reach out for a mechanic who speaks in my native tongue only to be quoted with exorbitant prices even higher than the dealerships! Called around to dozens of places who want to charge me 25 dollars for an oil change just for labor alone with me providing my own oil and filter.
With this said, I think Nick (who is the owner and mechanic I think) is a really stand up guy who quotes you up front (at least with oil changes anyway). It is really hard to find a mechanic who isn't trying to rip you off. He does an oil change with a synthetic blend for 23.99 which is an awesome price. I have also seen this special numerous times on groupon for 17.99. In my case, I bring in my own oil and filter and he does it for 10.00 dollars flat just for labor. Although this is the normal price in California, I think that indeed is an impossible price to find in metro Detroit. If anyone can prove me otherwise please send me a PM!
The only negative about this place is it is always packed and difficult to schedule an appointment because this guy is so darn busy. I guess it's because he's honest and that's a rare trait seen in mechanics nowadays. So if you have a lot of work to be done, I do not recommend trying to "walk in" cause that most likely won't work out very well, so call ahead for an appointment. Good luck!

I gave Revive Auto Repair a try for the first time yesterday and had a great experience, and will most certainly return the next time I need my car serviced.
I scheduled an appointment for four new tires, a battery terminal cleaning, and to have a heating problem corrected. I dropped the car off with the owner, Nick, at 8am. He walked me through some tire options, told me I most likely needed an alignment, and what they'd do related to the battery and heating problem. I headed off to work and a couple hours later I received a call from Nick and he explained that my front brake pads and rotors were on their last legs and offered a special price to get them replaced. We discussed the price (very reasonable considering the materials and all the work being performed) and I gave him the OK to proceed.
My car was ready around 2 or 3pm, and I picked it up around 4pm. I could not believe how well the car was driving. My vehicle is a 2008 Nissan Xterra, but it was driving like it was brand new again.
Before paying and driving off, I actually had a very nice conversation with Nick. It became very clear that he's running a customer satisfaction focused business first, and an auto shop second. I'll definitely be back!

First time here , for oil change. Read a lot good reviews. My experience was great professionals working hard , going the extra distance...
Put my 1996 4Runner on a lift.!! to give good thorough check that alone says alot.
Semi synthetic Castrol oil. $23.99. check all the fluids and everything else can't beat that.

I would definitely come here again! I came to get my headlights cleaned because they were so dirty my lights looked dim. Kasim made sure my car was washed and even replaced my bulb for $15! It saved me a trip to the shop that I had to make tomorrow. The service is awesome!

My car needed a lot of suspension work and the dealership quoted me $3,000. After researching other mechanics (online), I contacted Nick and he quoted a price that was a bit less than what the dealership wanted...so I took it in. He had the car for about four days. When I got it back the wheels hissed, when I turned, for about two days and the interior of my car was dirty with oil. I didn't mind cleaning the car because of the great price...and like I mentioned, the hissing disappeared.
Then after about three weeks, I kept hearing a clunking sound from the back when I made left turns as well as a high pitched moaning sound from under the hood. I took the car back.
Nick inspected the car and said that everything looked good. He suspected that the clunking sound was coming from the spare tire mount. As for the high pitched moaning noise...it was the alternator! :-(
The reason the I am giving this business four stars is because I think that Nick is actually a reasonable and honest mechanic. The missing star is for the oil that I had to clean up after spending almost 2K. If I could...I would have given him another .5 star because he thought that I asked him to change my oil but he didn't charge me when I brought it to his attention. Overall, I think that this is a good place to bring your car.
Finding a reputable mechanic these days is difficult and I think that I found one. I will, however, update my post if I run into any problems with the work that he performed. Fingers crossed. (4.5 stars)

I came here after feeling super scammed by a dealership. Nick offers a fair price with a superb service. Turns out my car wasn't as bad as what the dealership said it was. Nick runs an honest business and the customer service is A++++. They took the time to try to explain to me how my car is doing since I don't really know anything about cars. I will definitely come back here if somethings wrong with my car. They also just did some renovation to the place and it looks very nice!

Price is really good. Thank God this isn't the pushy salesman type of shop. The manager knows his stuff and points out problems that need to be taken care of but doesnt push to get it done unless it's an emergency. He SHOWS you the problem as well. Very clean. No oil residues when you're getting a oil change. Good place for your car

Went in for 4 ignition coils, my 2006 Passat was shuddering. After a test drive and diagnostic, Nick, the owner, said I only needed 1. I asked him to check my spark plugs, they needed replacing. I also think that I got to the bottom of a concern that I've had for a while. I visited Revive Auto Repair based on the 5 star reviews. I'll return based on my visit. The experience was fantastic. Nick is a calm, respectful, mechanic who is fair with his pricing and knows his Volkswagens.

I had to get my car checked because the engine sounded weird. A friend of mine suggested Revive Auto Repair, so I called the shop around noon and told them that I want the car to be checked and to get a quote. Nick told me I can drop it off after I finished work. When I dropped of the car Nick listened to all the stuff I told him about the noises and made notes. He asked some questions and told me they are quite busy, so he can't say for sure if they'd get it done till the end of the next day.
I told him to check the whole car for issues because I just bought it a month ago and I need to resell it in 4 months. The next day Nick called around noon and told me one of the engine mounts was worn out and had to be replaced (that's what made the noises) and also an oil-change should be made. He gave me a good quote and I let them replace these two things.
I could get my car back the same day and it works great again.
If I'll have any problems with my car in the future I'll definitely bring it to Revive again!

I recently purchased a used vehicle (1st generation Xterra) that was only getting 11-12 MPG highway driving. I checked Yelp reviews, brought my car into the shop, and got a full tune-up and new brakes - Nick even threw in complimentary timing belts and a fuel injector cleaner. The difference in performance was night and day, and though I'll have to fill it up again to make sure, I got 22 MPG highway on my last fill-up. You can definitely trust their work.

I am EXTREMELY pleased with the job this place did on my car. Was impressed by the attention to care and professionalism. My car went in for all the works - tire change, oil change, realignment, break pad job etc... Didn't quite agree with the brake pads, so they went back and changed them for me. Very glad to have gone with this shop, great service for reasonable prices. Spoke with Nick, who is an upfront guy and will tell you exactly what your car needs. Overall, satisfaction guaranteed. If you are searching for a reliable, honest, professional, and cost-effective auto mechanic, then please read my review. My 2008 Acura MDX com stopped running at my son's soccer game. We had the vehicle towed to Acura of Troy, as they have been servicing my vehicle for a number of years. The dealer noted that I needed a fuel pump replacement, costing $788. I was outraged at this price, particularly since I paid this dealer approximately $3,000 during the past few months for various recurrent problems (and including new tires). This was my second tow to this dealer within three months. As a frustrated customer, I decided check out reviews of other auto mechanics and came across Revive Auto Repair's five-star rating on Yelp, Facebook and Google. On a leap of faith, I called Nick and told him my problem. He was very kind, knowledgeable and sounded sincere. He said that a replacement fuel pump should cost about $300, including labor. I was shocked. I immediately called my insurance company and informed them that the dealer was price gauging me. As a result, the insurance company towed my car, for a second time in two days, to Revive Auto Repair. Nick confirmed via telephone that my vehicle was in his possession, and not to worry. Early the next day, he informed me that my car was working properly, and the bill was $270 plus tax, including labor! I couldn't believe it. When I arrived, I saw Nick himself driving my car through a car wash connected to his repair shop. To add frosting to an already delicious cake, Nick noticed that my husband's vehicle was making inappropriate noises. He hoisted that vehicle up, noted a loose screw, and fixed the noise AT NO COST. So now, both my husband and I are dancing like little kids. We highly recommend that you check Nick out. He's opening a second shop soon in Pontiac. We're so happy we listened to fellow Yelpers and found Nick. THANK YOU, YELP! Acura of Troy, you will not be missed.

The 'owner' screamed at me because I wanted to use my Groupon and he said I needed an appt to use Groupon for oil change. I showed him the coupon where it states its recommended but not necessary and he got extremely angry and started yelling at me!!!
