Letter from an out of town Customer

Lynn S. Honea Path, SC 8/6/2012 Traveling 12 hours from home in a RV when transmission started leaking, was towed to King's auto.Jackson, MI... Although they didn't have facilities to diagnosis my rv transmission issues. Richard went out of his way to recommend and make many phone calls to help us. They very easily could have told us that we needed a new transmission which they do do, but instead Richard was very honest, and told us what repair places were reputable and which weren't and right he was. When we were towed to a place ( where we had no choice) was exactly what he said .The next place told us we needed a $4,000 new transmission without even looking at it, ( on a rv with 30,000 miles on it) when all it was was a $20 seal! Which friends came up and changed in the parking lot. Although we may never be in Jackson Michigan, I highly respect and appreciate the time, concern and honesty of KING'S AUTO CARE 4114 E. MICHIGAN AVENUE JACKSON, MI IF If I lived there I would have no problem having them service my vehicles, as they may be one of the last honest mechanics out there in the state of Michigan. An HONEST mechanic!!

I would VERY HIGHLY recommend King's to anyone and everyone!!! I went in to Mechanix to get another estimate for some car repairs that Michigan Works is helping me pay for, as I'm on an extremely low income. Jim told me that my engine is shot and that it won't last through the end of the month. I was worrying and crying for a week, wondering how I would get the $1000-$1500 to afford this. I need my car running, as I have a 10 year old and 5 year old. I went to King's to get my third required quote, he told me it doesn't sound like the motor. What it turned out to be was the torque convertor bolts, which Richard at King's tightened. The charge was $40, but I didn't expect the repair and didn't have money. He told me not to worry about it, bring it another time. When I left there, my car sounded good as new, no rattling or knocking. Going from $1000-$1500 down to $40 was a huge relief!! I have since found out from quite a few sources that Mechanix takes advantage of women. I was talked down to the whole time I was there, as if being female meant I was a complete moron. King's also has the contract to fix all of the government vehicles for the Jackson area. He is a very nice man, and believe it or not, an HONEST mechanic!!

Excellent first-time experience with King's. Didn't have the part in stock when I stopped in but they were able to have it in later that afternoon to complete the repair. Quality, honest work that can't be beat.

Reserved a Budget truck over 3 weeks in advance of the dates I needed it. The day of pickup, they informed me that they not only did NOT have at truck for me, but that there were no trucks within several hundred miles of them. They also told me they called Uhaul for me to see if they had any trucks, and Uhaul did not have trucks either. I called Uhaul myself and had a truck in 20 minutes. Don't count on this place!

Not like other repair facilities ,You will find patience there.Most repair facilities will not give you the time of day.At kings,even if you have a question about a project at home, they will get you an answer ,with nothing expected in return.The work is done right the first time. Dont waste your time and money. Go to kings first!!!! I am a "real" costomer.

What a horrible experience. We took our daughters car in to have new brake lines installed. We were charged $150 over the estimate. They advertise same day service but it took two days for a simple job on a simple car (Honda Accord.) About a week later our 16 year old daughters brakes failed leaving her in the ditch. As it turns out their "A.S.E technician" ran the rear brake line against the rear shock which due to the friction wore a hole in the line leading to failure resulting in her crash. Mr. King showed no remorse he did have the line fixed at "no charge"( like the $550 he had soaked us for wasn't a charge.) He did brag how he had been in business for 18 years and suspended the technician for two days without pay like that mattered to us after ultimately in my opinion Mr. King endangered our daughters life and possibly the lives of others on the road. STEER CLEAR OF KINGS AUTOMOTIVE IN JACKSON MICHIGAN What a poor way to do business.
