I took my car, a MINI, to Totten Pond Automotive for service (the engine overheated). I showed up on a Sat morning with no notice when they were already overbooked. Although they did not fix the issue, they took the time to do the first diagnosis before their closing time. They explained that after looking at it, this issue required someone who is familiar with MINIs. They were prompt, honest and courteous; and they did not charge me for their time which was very generous. Thank you.

I went in to get my car inspected a little later in the day 4:35 (garage closes at 5:00). Was told that it was to late and he could not do the inspection today and to come back tomorrow. I politely asked if there was any way he could fit me in and was told (in an irritated voice) "No! you came to late and I have two cars in front of you and I am not staying late". I completely understand everyone gets to the end of the day and they just want to get home but I looked in the inspection bay and it was empty and then proceeded to get gas and checked in the bay upon leaving and again no car in the inspection bay. I have never received service from this garage and who knows they could be great. I just don't like being lied to. I would have rather been told hey I'm closing this place down I am sorry can you come back in the morning or hey we are really under the gun to fix this customers car by 5 and can't spare a man. Just tell the truth! When you get lied to about a simple thing you have to think, what else would this place lie about when it comes to servicing my car. I can seriously say just by the attitude of the person I spoke with I can never recommend this place to anyone and or get my car serviced there.

Extremely quick service by Ed and the team, as well as a complimentary shuttle ride back to work. These guys move quickly - not because they are rushed, but because they've seen it all. I received a phone call only a few hours later with the diagnosis and a couple options at different price points for repairs, depending on what my future plans for the car were. I was assured that no work or disabling work would be done on the car without my approval, and they kept their word.
So far, I'm very pleased with the service here. Cars don't wait for appointments to break down, but they squeezed me in that very same day. Much appreciated!

Most Expensive Gas Station in Boston Area.
In 2014 I purchased 3 Synthetic oil changes for $79.00 through
. Used two in 2014 and had one left to use. I knew the promotional value for the 3rd oil change had expired but my initial value of $26.33 was still there. I called the Garage and they gave me the price of $76.00 for the synthetic oil change. I was willing to get it done as much as it was quite high because I work nearby. However, they refused to use my $26.33 out of $79.00. Instead they advised me to call Amazon and work out with them directly. I have several friends and family in the area. I would not go back or recommend it to anyone. Customer Service Rep at Amazon immediately refund that amount back to my credit card without going through any trouble at all. I will continue using Amazon, but not

I just brought my car in today for an inspection. There was no appointment required and they had my car checked out very quickly.
The car failed inspection due to a degraded ball joint, which did not surprise me. They provided me with a very reasonable estimate for the repair, quick turn around, and offered me a ride home if I needed it. Probably the best experience I have ever had dealing with a mechanic.
I haven't picked my car up yet after the repair and an oil change however they do offer a discount right now if you decide to give them a review which I appreciate. If I have any issues I will update my review, but I'm not expecting any based on the level of service I have already been provided.

Two cars and 5 years later, I won't go anywhere else. They are as skilled repairing American made cars as well as
foreign. I trust them explicitly. Ed is kind, courteous and takes time to explain everything that needs to be done. There isn't any pressure to do repairs/replacements that could possibly be done at a later date. Being given the "heads up" or recommendation that your tires will need to be replaced in the next couple of months is welcome. That's just an example. They really do have the customer best interest in mind.

I had a groupon to use these folks for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. It was really nice to speak with someone on the phone who seemed very interested in making the process run smoothly... ie. they spoke clearly and actually took the time to talk instead of just acting like it was a hassle to deal with customers. When I showed up, the people seemed friendly and the service was pretty quick.
I guess my biggest gripe comes from the Groupon I used. Since I have an "expensive" car, I figured it would be cheaper to use the groupon than the dealership. I was wrong. They charged me extra because my car used more oil and the filter was special. OK... I get that the Groupon wouldn't cover "special" cars completely. But, then they told me my tires couldn't be rotated (another part of the Groupon that was included). The treads were wearing low, so they couldn't be rotated.
All perfectly friendly, but I can't help but feel it was a little bit of the slick-willy approach to car service.
I got charged more for the extra oil and the special oil filter, but they didn't discount anything for not rotating my tires.
Many Groupons truly do suck and the small print makes them useless sometimes. But I gave 3 stars here because Yelp says that means "A-OK" ... this place was "A-OK". The people were friendly, but I don't exactly feel like it was good service or a good value.

I started coming to the service station during the winter and these guys are top notch. They are very thorough with their work and make you feel very comfortable with the diagnosis. I hate to use a cliche, but they really go above and beyond. They are up front with all the information and the bottom line is that I trust them, all around good guys!! I was originally from New Hampshire. Since I just moved to MA, so I currently have to do license plate transfer and a MA state inspection. The staff members were friendly and nice to answer my questions. Beside the inspection, they even helped me to put the new license plate on since I have no tools to do that. I've been a customer at Totten Pond Shell for a while now, and I always leave very satisfied. Everyone is very pleasant and efficient. They are very accommodating when you call for an appointment and prices are extremely reasonable. I never get the feeling that they're trying to take advantage of me or sell me on something that I don't really need. The reception/waiting area is also always extremely well-kept. My whole family comes here and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for anything from an oil change to more serious work!

This place is amazing! First and foremost, everyone who works at Totten Pond Service Center is friendly, accommodating and HONEST - which, we all know if hard to find in this industry. I have had my car serviced here for over 10 years and I have never been unsatisfied in any way. Eddie will call me and prioritize what needs to be done vs. what should be done and give me the option to choose. John is a sweetheart and drops me off at work and also picked me up once when I didn't have a ride! The facility was just re-done and looks beautiful. Neat, clean and well organized. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I send my colleagues from work there as well. Every one of them have had the same experience as i do.

The service center here is awesome. Very very professional guys, very friendly and they offer a shuttle service - perfect.
I was quoted 600+ dollars at another shop and they did it here for 300! They also looked inspected my car at the same time and offered to look into replacing a door handle I had problems with - got it fixed in the same day and for a fair price. All of this took just a few hours and I got a call back that it was all ready.
I don't have anything negative to say. They did not con me or try to find any problems - they are honest people and did a great few repairs on my car. People say gas is overpriced - but it's a huge business section of town and right on the highway so not so far-fetched honestly.

I agree with other reviewers that the gas prices here are way too high, but I stopped by today to get an inspection sticker. The staff took my car quickly and the inspection was completed within 35 minutes of my arrival. The service waiting area has a small flat screen TV, to distract you while you wait.

So not only do they have the most expensive gas in town, but the mechanics here are also SHADY SHEISTERS!!
I took my car here on my lunch hour to get a routine oil change because the gas station sent out a promotional coupon via email to employees at my company--$29.99 for oil change, fluid top off, tire rotation and safety check. I thought to myself, seems like a good deal. Plus they offered a courtesy shuttle service back to the office so I wouldn't have to wait around for my car to be serviced....
Well, a couple hours after I dropped off my car, one of the service guys calls me at work to say that they did the oil change but not the tire rotation because that was not necessary. Everything else was fine--except for the battery. I was told that my battery was failing and I should get it replaced as soon as possible. I was given a quote of $130, but given that I've never had trouble starting my car, I immediately was suspicious and told them I'd have to think about it.
The next day, I took my car in to the most honest mechanics I know at Meineke Car Center in Brighton for a second opinion and they assured me that my battery was fine. Can you believe that?? It's really shameful how low people will stoop to make a quick buck. So, lesson learned--ALWAYS get a second opinion on a repair and whatever you do, stay far, far away from Totten Pond Shell! I plan to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

The gas is the most expensive I've seen, but it's in a business district and right off the major highway.
However, their repair service is great. The staff is always very professional, I am greeted immediately and I got my inspection done yesterday in under 20 minutes.
They will also drive you to your office if it's nearby but I've never had to do that.
So I recommend Totten Pond Shell for service and inspections but get your gas somewhere else.

(I was expecting my 100th review to be something more glamorous than a car shop, but oh well...)
While I would probably never go here for gas, since the prices are insane, it was the most convenient option for me as far as getting my new inspection sticker, so I decided to try them out. I mean, the state regulates the price on that, so what did I have too lose?
Answer...about 35 minutes of my day. Not so significant, but if they had told me that they were still "charging up the machine" (which is the excuse I got later), I would have gone to my office & grabbed the car later in the day. My office is about a 8 minute walk from here, so I was pretty annoyed, seeing as he gave me a 15-minute estimate when I got there & didn't mention anything about a charging machine.
Aside from the huge time-suck, they were all friendly and did have a 2-chair waiting area. It also appeared as though they had some return customers that they knew by name, so that's a good sign. And the free ride is a nice touch.

The gas is overpriced but I've had nothing but good experiences with the service center...they've fixed a couple minor things, replaced my broken water pump, changed my oil and replaced tires, done my annual inspection, etc. and never done unnecessary work or overbilled. They've even spent time trying and failing to diagnose a problem and not charged me for it (the problem never came back).

highest gas prices i have seen anywhere in New England - due to their location near all the hotels, office parks, oh, and the busiest damn highway interchange in the area, i can only attribute this to GOUGING.
if you buy gas here you literally pay $.25 more per gallon, if not more, on all grades. i'm happier to risk running out of fuel, coasting down Totten Pond Rd, before going here.
for those familiar with Sifl and Olly .. this would be on the Precious Roy Shopping Netwerk.. and Precious would inevitably declare "YOU GUYS ARE SUCKERS!" .

Service is EXCELLENT - I have had my Mercedes and my wife's Honda serviced here for years. They are one of the few places that will let you buy your own parts on the internet and they will install - save a ton off dealer prices. Gas is 23 - 25 cents more than elsewhere.

Despite that I am not working in their area any more, I recently drove all the way to TPS again to have those folks take a look at a transmission problem. I respect their opinion that much. Finally, the courtesy shuttle to work is a major treat.

$.20-$.25 more per gallon than would I would pay at other gas stations. And then they have the gall to put up full serve pumps for yet another additional $.20 on top of the high price that they already charge. Like now, they charge $2.89 for full, $2.69 for self, and I filled up in Burlington for $2.44. A complete rip off! If you need gas that bad, go to the Mobil station that is off the highway and you'd at least save $.10.
