Very professional! I am an aircraft technician and have been for 35 years. I went in for an issue, a squeal from the front brake, from work done less than 3000 miles ago at another Midas. The mechanic, Derrick, looked it over, found the problem and made an effective repair. Other problems where found and pointed out to me. No attempt to up sale me or find a reason to not honor the warranty. GOOD JOB! Thank you!

OK everyone, go to THIS Midas. Forget the rest. Started having a problem with brakes -- started to shimmy. Experience told me this was worn rotors. Picked this Midas because of a LACK of bad reviews -- I'm in Long Beach. The tech prepped the vehicle for an inspection, and the Manager, Trenton Senter, Sr., went out to show me their findings. [Unbeknownst to him, I'm a 30 year retired aircraft mechanic -- I know brakes]. His analysis was right on point, and the brakes confirmed his diagnosis. While I have the lifetime guarantee on the brakes, most folks know that rotors aren't covered, and they wear out eventually. Mine were worn out. So he only recommended the work that needed to be done. NO SCAM HERE. I waited while the job was being completed -- and had a chance to overhear him working on the phone and with customers... Gotta tell you folks, he's a good guy. He does things right, and treats people right, even if they come in with a bad attitude (which a couple did, in fact...). If I wasn't retired, I would have considered hiring him away from Midas for one of my companies. But he's there, and that's your gain. Take your business to "Trenton" at Midas in Cypress. It's is OUR new Midas shop! Tell him Dale and Mike sent ya!

Great service! I did not feel as I usually do when I take in my car for repairs: like a single woman being taken advantage of in a car repair shop. I do wish the groupon had included the water pump as well. I will need to spend more money to completely service the timing belt repair but I will most likely take it to this shop.

Good to know. They didn't use my Groupon. I left.
Came back later with new rotors.
Just realized that my need to buy parts, then have them serviced & installed, comes from torturous memories of having my car at shops for weeks "waiting for parts".
I called in advance,
asked if they could install rotors with the Groupon brake job.

But an extra $20 each for rotors to be installed

I came to this Midas with a brake pad Groupon thinking I would save money and get superior service. I was very disappointed when the service manager and employee told me I had to replace not only the pads but also the front rotors, estimated $300+. I knew I was close to replacement on the pads, but Damn! I went back to my regular mechanic and he told me I had 40% left on the pads and my rotors do not need replacement. He didn't even charge me for the evaluation after hearing the nonsense I went through at Midas Cypress. I should have known better. I'm just glad Groupon refunded me.

To be honest, these reviews made me so weary but I'm a firm believer of trying things out myself so I went in SUPER early right at 7:30, they were still opening the shop and I was able to get my car in for its oil change. The staff was so friendly, very knowledgable and just made me feel so comfortable. I will say slightly higher than most oil changes I've received, but just due to the fact of the staff and atmosphere... I'll definitely be back! In the meantime, I'll be spreading the word :)

Service was ok, nothing exceptional. There were many things that I didnt like about this Midas;
1) They increase their quotes when I told them that I will be using Groupon. $90 groupon was suppose to cover $180 but they increased the quotes by $60 so groupon saved only $30.
2) In spite of paying extra $40 for resurfacing the rotors the rear rotor were not resurfaced as front, I could see the imperfection on the rotor surface.
Dont use groupon, they will cover the saving by additional charges and inferior services, not planning to go back !

This place is great! Came in here for a break check/change. I knew there was a groupon and asked about it. They gave it to me in house (I didn't have to purchase the groupon through groupon). On top of this after checking my car they showed me the problems they found not only with the breaks but a few other items and explained what each problem was and showed me the damage on my car. They gave me a quote for everything and fixed my breaks. They are really friendly and offer great service and know what they're talking about. I'm coming back again for future service needs. Highly recommend this place.

Once again AMAZING service from everyone here! I came cause my car was making a noise and I had no idea what it was. Turns out my hood was loose and just needed to be tightened. They could have easily told me it was something bigger and very costly but instead tightened my hood at no cost. They are actual honest mechanics! I hit a pothole knew i did some damage. I brought my car to Sergio @ Midas. HE put my car in the air and showed me what was wrong Strut was shot mad leakage. I'm a 23 year old female, and the only part of car maintenance that I can say I'm an expert in, is keeping her shiny, and clean. I live on my own, and don't have anyone who I can refer my mechanical questions to. It was such a relief to be able to take my Acura to Trenton, the store manager at Midas on Cerritos in Cypress. He was honest with the mechanical needs of my vehicle, and more than reasonable with pricing. He worked with me so that I could leave the shop today, with new brake pads for the front and rear, and an oil change without burning a hole in my pockets. Car maintenance is so important, however we often dread dealing with the cost and hassle of keeping our babies on the road. I can honestly say I left headache free, with everything I needed. Submitted a quote online for a price for brakes for my car and got a message from sal. Called him back and he told me that they had a special for $149.00, front brakes and turning the rotors and a lifetime guarantee. When I need my front brakes again they'll replace them and I'll need to pay is the labor which I was informed would be $35.
I was in and out in less than an hour.

This is the WORSE place-DON'T ever give them your business.
We paid $ 90 for a groupon for brakes (a $ 180 value according to their voucher).
I sent my husband there to get new front brakes. They told him that the groupon couldn't be used for a Ford Expediton-it was only for "small cars". This wasn't mentioned anywhere in the groupon. My husband (not a patient man) decided to just get it done there anyway since he had already gone 25 miles in order to get a brake deal and he wanted to be done with it. They charged us $ 190 and we now have a groupon that isn't usable (not that we would EVER go there again).

There are definitely positive changes with new management here. Friendly environment, speedy service and very accommodating! I brought it in for an oil change about a month ago and received the run down on my vehicle. However, the windshield fluid ran low about a week ago.. So, I called them to see if they would take a look at it. I also explained to them that I thought it was a part of the deal upon my initial arrival when I requested the oil change... They informed me to stop by and when I got there, they took my car in right away and topped it off along with another full vehicle inspection to ensure they did not miss anything.. This was all done at no additional cost or headache on my behalf.. With his type of service, I am happy to write my first review ever on Yelp about a company.. And Midas you are my first! Sadly, my vehicle is beyond repair. This fact does not reflect however, on the service I received. Trenton was thorough, honest, and communicative with me. I really couldn't ask for better service. It makes me happy to know that there are honest mechanics (I've had a lot of bad ones) with whom I don't have to second guess. In a strange way it makes my world slightly better place. A place slightly brighter and much more reliable than my recently departed automobile.

Got my oil changed about a month ago. All was fine until about 2 weeks ago I noticed my car was leaking oil. It's been leaking but I barely noticed it. Paid a mechanic to take a look at it and apparently they used the wrong oil filter. Awesome, paid $80+ for an oil change and now I had to pay to get it replaced.

The owners are crooks. Liars. And very unprofessional.
They did work on my car without consent. 1st legal mistake.
The owner told me they put in a new fuel pump to get my car running. Well.....they never put a pump in. And that wasn't what my problem was anyway. It was a battery. They couldn't show documentation for the new one, so I asked them to show me the old one and they couldn't show me. So then I asked them to show me the new one in the car and they could show me that either. The owner said I'm not a certified mechanic. All in all they lied and tried to get me to pay for it.
Will I ever go back? HELL NO

I came here to get my rear brakes done thanks to a Groupon deal. I really like this place and will come back for my other car service needs. The guys were very nice and explained everything clearly to me. I do not feel like they were trying to up sale or talk down to me because I am a female. I hate to say that but I had other places treat me like that, but I did not experience it here. If your car needs more work then what you requested, they have you come out so they can explain it. Also you have to sign the paperwork authorizing the work before they begin. I like that because there is no surprise amounts at the end and also if you can't afford everything then you can pick out of the list what services you would like them to performed. Overall, there is nothing fancy about this place, but it is a great place to get quality work done on your car.

My wife took our Versa at this place. The mechanic and owner were very honest. She appreciated that. It's not easy to find honest mechanics these days. I've been to places before where they told us we needed new brakes even though I still had 50% life left on the pads. The mechanic here recommended not changing the pads and only resurfaced the rotors. Fully synthetic oil change was also done in a timely manner. We ended up spending less money than we had expected. I'll be taking my other cars there as well.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!
As a woman with a used car, I expect mechanics to try and take advantage of me. So when I took my car in to get an oil change, I dealt directly with the owner and told him that I did not want the "free inspection". Before I know it, the wheels are off my car and I am being told that I need a new $150 battery.
Little do they know, I just had my battery checked by AAA and it was perfect. When I told him this, the owner said AAA was wrong and that my battery light was on. I passed on the battery change and brought my car to my trusted mechanic who does not do oil changes. He showed me why the battery light was on. THEY HAD PULLED THE BATTERY LIGHT'S CORD OUT TO TRICK ME INTO PURCHASING A BATTERY!
The worst part is, I was a returning customer and they knew that. The owner wasn't there the first time I got my oil changed. This is how he treats his loyal customers. Please boycott this thief!

Paid almost $1200 for brake, rotor, and struts. Few weeks later, I still have the same problem. Took it back there and told me that they've found another problem. I told the manager Sal that they did not see that problem the last time I was here? He said no. And it was gonna cost me an additional $800!?! I said forget it. Will take it to someone who's not a scam artist! Not all Midas store are like this I hope but beware of this location!

I had my vehicle change engine oil and wheel alignment. But later I felt something wrong wheel alignment and called them to ask for wheel alignment report sheet, instead of the before and after screenshot paper which was just misleading naive customers like me, to see how the alignments (front right and left, rear right and left angles) have been changed. HOWEVER, VERY INTERESTINGLY, they said they did it on DEMO mode so they don't have history data for my vehicle and ask me to bring back my vehicle to do it again! Oh My God!!! It's a fraud! WATCH OUT this shop to charge you for nothing they do.

Started hearing a grinding noise every time I pushed down on the brakes, so I took my Corolla in to a Toyota dealership (never again). They told me I would need to replace the brakes, and I'm not completely clueless when it comes to cars, so I knew it was too early. Mainly because the car is fairly new.
With the recommendation of a friend, I decided to take my car in to this Midas, and Sal was great. He was honest about what was really causing the noise, and said that I actually did not need to replace the brakes. So after resurfacing the rotors I was on my way, car as good as new! Not overpriced, and very pleased with the overall experience. Will recommend this Midas to all of my friends and family! Thank you Sal!

Took my wife's 2009 Jetta in because she said her brakes were making noises and needed an oil change. I have been here before with my Wrangler and they seemed up front and honest so I figured I use them again. Dealerships will just rip you right off.
Sal (the manager) said only the back brakes needed to be replaced and the rotors just resurfaced. He also gave me the oil change for free!!!
The side mirror needed to be replaced on the car from some damage so he offered to call junk yards for me to find one while I waited for my ride to pick me up! He didn't find one, but how cool is Sal for trying to find us one!!! I did end up finding a good deal on eBay for a replacement mirror and he offered to install it for me!!!!
This place is honest and very friendly!! Highly recommended!!

Nice, friendly service--BUT my brakes now squeak SOOOO Loud!! I've driven well over the 100 miles "to get the dust off". I'll NEVER recommend this place, and they've lost my return business!! Horrible!!

I agree with the first review. Avoid this place.
I had brought my Honda Civic to Buena Park Honda for servicing. They noted that I needed a power steering fluid change and a brake fluid change. Since they charged me an arm and a leg, I ended up just taking my car into this Midas. Prices were more reasonable, though I was sure I wasn't getting the same quality of parts. They charged $80 for the power steering change and $50'ish for the brakes.
Then my next service (about 4k miles later), i brought the car into Norme Reeves Honda and ... wait, I need another power steering fluid change? I went to the technician and asked him to show me. I was there with a friend (who's pretty car savy), and we were both convinced that Norme Reeves Honda was truthful.
So from two shops telling me the same thing, one 4 months before I went to midas, and one 4 months after I had my power steering fluids changed at midas - I'm pretty sure they just ripped me off and did not do the power steering fluid change at all. And yet, they rang me up for $80 telling me it was all done.
Oh, BTW, during the visit, I also asked them to check my battery and let me know if it's low and need to be changed soon. They came back and said it was all fine, nothing wrong and that I had about 50% of the battery left. My car battery died and I ended calling triple A three weeks later!

The manager "AL" is a good man who runs an honest business and tells you how it is with your vehicle. He will let you know how your car is doing good or bad. He is slowly but surely building a good reputation at this Midas.
I have had my car serviced from oil changes to major brake work with 100% satisfaction. The place is sometimes empty but the guys who ran before made it that way before "AL" the new manager arrived. Lets face it, car repairs are expensive because you have to know what you are doing.

Here is my complaint in a nutshell: When I took my car in because I heard a grinding noise when I braked, Midas gave me an estimate of $1100.00 to repair my brakes, struts, and rotors, because, according to Midas, they didn't meet minimum requirements, and there were leaks. So, I took the car to a mechanic who is a family member that I trust, and he said I did not need any of the repairs that Midas said I needed. The grinding noise was due to some dust on the back brakes! Here is the whole story:
I am a middle-aged white female. When I needed new brakes on my 2000 Honda CRV a few years ago, I had gone to Midas down the street because it was close to my house and I trusted the name!!! I had gotten the free brake pads replacement guarantee for the life of the car, so in May, 2012, when my brakes sounded like they were grinding when I put my foot on the brake pedal, I took it back to the Cypress Midas to have them checked out. I left the car for a couple of hours so they could identify the problem. When I went back to look at the estimate, they said that I needed front brakes, front rotors, and front struts. They said that mine were under the legal specifications. The mechanic very patiently pointed out all of the problems while the car was up on the rack. He had tools with measurements and showed me where the struts were leaking. He even told me that the brakes were grinding when I wasn't even applying pressure to the brake pedal. Well, because I had been hearing what I thought was grinding, I took all of this very seriously and I was ready to take care of it that day. The estimate I was given came to $1100.00, and that included a $300 discount if I had it all done at the same time. Otherwise, it would have cost me $1400.00. They reiterated that this was a good deal! So I called my partner and asked her which credit card I should use because I wanted it taken care of right away! After she was done freaking out about the estimate, she reminded me that we might want our son-in-law's cousin, who owns his own automotive shop in Huntington Beach to take a look at the car and give us a second opinion. I reluctantly said okay (because I really wanted the brakes in great operating condition now!) and called my family friend mechanic. He told me to bring in the car so he could look at it before I spent any money on the brakes. He also reassured me that if the car was braking okay, that the problem might not be as urgent as I was told by Midas. So, some time passed before I was able to take the car to my mechanic cousin-in-law down to Huntington Beach. He kept the car for about 2 days, and when he called me I was absolutely shocked to hear that I did NOT need brakes, rotors, or struts!!!!! He said that the back brakes had some dust on them and that's what was causing the noise I was hearing! He told me that all of the measurements were above all minimum specifications, and the only thing that I needed was an oil change and a belt needed tightening! I asked him several times if he was sure, because I could not believe that just a few months prior, I was ready to hand over $1100.00 for something that I DID NOT NEED! WOW! Needless to say, I will never step foot in a Midas ever again! Oh, and on a side note, a few weeks ago, as I was driving by Midas, I noticed that their marquee was advertising Ladies' Day on Wednesdays! So, Ladies, beware!

false advertising, stay away from this dump, the place was empty as in, not one car in the shop. the idiot said my 2-door explorer is considered a large vehicle so it didn't qualify for the price on the coupon, what a joke. did i mention that the place was a ghost town, the loser should have been happy to honor my coupon. regardless of the suv status!
