I couldn't be more pleased with both BMi and my purchase. I live in Little Rock and was concerned about buying out of state, sight unseen. But I would do it again. The communication, service, and excellence with which this company functions is exceptional. I felt like a trusted friend, rather than a manipulated customer.

This is a jewel in the rough of used car dealers. Anthony and his staff are honest, and customer friendly people who work hard to make the purchase of a vehicle smooth and easy. I would highly recommend BMiMemphis to anyone looking to purchase a pristine, certified, pre-owned Lexus. Anthony does everything to help you get into the car you want. The paperwork is minimal and they offer an extended warranty that is purchased on site and can be financed. One of the salesmen said that Anthony only buys cars that he would buy for himself. That says something to me. You will not be disappointed in this dealership. Highly recommend!!!

This is the first auto shop that I can truly call honest. Long story kinda short....I took my car to the dealer for an oil change. They tell me my water pump is leaking & needs to be replaced immediately. Also, the rack beneath my car needs work (they used a bunch of automotive mumbo jumbo). It sounded serious & I was kinda scared to drive my car. Rather than get the work done immediately at a cost is $2200+...yes, $2200+ my husband and I wait for the next oil change timeframe & take the car to Massey's. We've used them before & they repaired my car at a very reasonable price. We figured Massey's repair estimate would be around &1700-1800.
So, we go to Massey's and explain what the dealer said & ask them to take a look & request a oil change. We also showed them the write up from the dealer.
We go to pick up the car a few hours later & I'm kinda prepared for the bill. Well...Massey's says my water pump is fine!!! I don't need to change it. Apparently, my car make tends to have minor leaks with the water pump...so much so, Massey's keep them on stock. Oh, and the rack? Absolutely nothing is wrong with it. Nada. Nyet.
I only paid $60 for my oil change. Yes, sounds like a lot for an oil change, but I'd pay $100 if there's a savings of over $2200?! Wouldn't you?
In short...if you're looking for an honest, trustworthy shop, please give this one a try...You won't be disappointed.
Thanks!

These guys are like having family taking care of your car. I live in Europe and needed my 1999 Jaguar Vanden Plas fixed so it could be transported to San Francisco. Thank goodness I shopped around on Yelp and found these guys. Johnny, the Service Manager was like a Saint. He helped me coordinate getting it to the shop via AAA, took my numerous calls from overseas and replied to every e-mail promptly as we determined what to do to get it running, He ONLY told me what was absolutely necessary. It ended up being gunk in the fuel system for having sat too long. (I had to insist on an oil change, which it didn't need, he said...but I just wanted it to be safe). These guys were great. Johnny THEN took pictures of the car to document the state of the car and THEN coordinated with the long haul truckers to pick it up...completing the Bill of Lading for me. This service is UNBELIEVABLE. A week later it showed up in San Francisco running great and in great shape. I'll likely never be in Memphis again...but if I am...I'm buying Johnny a steak dinner...and I hope anyone who reads this will at least give them a call to see how amazing they are.

I recently moved to Memphis from Maryland/DC area and have been looking for a good mechanic that works on imports and doesn't try to burn you on the price. I was referred to Masseys off covington pike by a friend ( that's how she said it) . I was worried I would spend a chunk of money because of this pulling my car started doing recently.I figured tie rod end, wheel bearing, control arm, etc, etc $$$$$$ . Anyway, I explained about the pulling and the pedal vibration I was experiencing. They were straight shooters, Told me exactly what I needed , explained the pulling was just time for some new tires and the brakes just needed to be changed and new rotors. That's it. Took a few hours, because they were super busy .
Anyway I always appreciate good service at a fair price and these folks provided just that. Not sure why only 1 other review on yelp, but based on the amount of business and the positive comments from the folks in there getting cars worked on, guess that's all they need. Keep up the great work!

I was shopping for a 2012 Silver Lexus ES 350 and found one at CARMAX. I had it transferred from out of state and when it (finally) arrived it was scratched up on one side. Long story short, I got my transfer fee back, but the manager wouldn't even take time to speak with me and CARMAX refused to work with me to get the scratch fixed or the price reduced. The CARMAX salesman even said, "We sell cars with scratches all the time!" (Wasn't what I expected AND the scratches weren't in the picture they posted). I was so disappointed and discouraged. My sister suggested I look at dealerships around Covington Pike. I reluctantly stopped by Brian Massey Imports and to my surprise found a 2011 silver ES 350 that was IDENTICAL to the 2012 I fell in love with at CARMAX. The car had very low miles and was in pristine condition. By comparison, the cars at Brian Massey (year/model) ran an average of $1000 less than CARMAX. The extended warranty was much better also... same coverage, but cheaper with less deductible. The trade-in offer for my car was very fair - but MOST of all, the customer service was OUTSTANDING! In fact, after I signed on the dotted line, they realized the spare key remote did not work and they even paid for another and made sure it was taken care of quickly. (Notable because 1) remote keys are expensive and, 2) you're lucky to even GET a spare key!). So THANKS Richard Johnson for your professional salesmanship! And thanks to the staff for taking care of the customer! (By the way, it's a family owned business!) I drove off a HAPPY customer and I highly recommend them!

It is my pleasure to give this review. Please excuse the many words, but Brian and his staff are worth it.
I have been going to Brian Massey Imports for about a decade now. I have been astonished numerous times at Brian's honesty and integrity. Here is a story from when I first met Brian.
About 10 years ago I bought a 1997 Volkswagen Passat off of eBay motors (i know! i know!). The car was Candy Cane White, had tan leather interior, and was in pristine condition with very low mileage. At the time, it was my dream car and I thought it a steal considering the condition and the number of miles. What I did not know is that the reason the miles were so low is because it had set up for a couple of years. On a lot of cars that would be no big deal, but on a Volkswagen that's a very bad thing because of it's complex European emissions system that has seven different components that can AND WILL go bad if they sit up for too long. I learned this the hard way.
Soon after the purchase of my VW the check engine light started coming on. I took it to the VW dealer and they told me that one of the seven emissions components were bad but they had no way of knowing which one it was! They said they would start at the first one and work their way back. I said "OK", and they fixed the first one. The bill was real close to $500. About two weeks later the check engine light was on again and I took it back to the dealer. Once again the bill was about $500. Two weeks later the light was on again! At this point I was pretty upset about the whole thing and just decided to drive the car with the light on. Needless to say, the car certainly did not feel too "pristine" anymore. lol
A few years later I was about to get married and decided it was time to sell the Passat and buy something more dependable (cay you say "Honda Accord"?). I decided to try to get the light fixed (and a minor sunroof leak) before putting it up for sale. I was so unimpressed with the dealer I decided to take a shot someplace else. Somehow I found out about Brian Massey and took the car to him. He told me the same story as the dealer had said (that you can't be sure which part is broken), and then said something quite shocking. He told me that if it were him he would not put another dollar in the car. He said he would just name my price and then discount it as needed when someone makes me an offer. Needless to say I was floored! That cut him out of the equation but he didn't care. What a miracle of honesty I witnessed on that day!
And what happened? I put it in the trader for the same price I had paid for it on eBay. The first person that came to look it at was a college girl from Oxford, MS that fell in love with the car as soon as she saw it. I showed her the car and then told her about the emissions problem, as well as the fact that in heavy rain the sunroof would leak just a tad. She told me not to worry about it because her grandmother was rich and would fix it! That same grandmother was standing right there by her side and told me that if I would take a check she would pay me my whole asking price on the spot. Needless to say, I took the check!
(and yes it cleared with no problems)
So there you have it - and that's just one story! I could also tell you about the time that Brian got me $900 back from Honda because he knew there was an old factory recall that had already expired that I did not know about. And I could add many more, but I think the point is already crystal clear.
If you want someone to work on your car that has the utmost integrity, quick service, and prices so fair that you may occasionally feel compelled to ask if your bill is correct, then go to Brian Massey Imports. If that does not sound good enough then I would recommend just taking it to the dealer!
Sincerely,
Alton C.

A few days ago a friend of a friend was looking for a 'good mechanic'. I sent the following regarding Brian Massey Motors.
"...2 1/2 years ago I bought a used car from Acura of Memphis and almost immediately had a few modest issues pop up; that's just the nature of used cars so I'm not blaming them. Upon returning to the dealership, hoping they would cut me a little slack considering - the sales guy walked me outside and said, "go see Brian Massey Motors, he used to be the service manager here and he's very good and very reasonable". The quote I got from the Acura service center was high so I did visit Brian the next day. When I spoke with him (he mans the desk when you walk into the waiting room) I appreciated his nonsense if a tad 'cold/unemotional' approach to things. I told him what was going on with my car (2000 Maxima) and he finished my sentence by explaining the how, why and what's needed. The price quoted was a little more than half what Acura and about a 1/3 less than another shop has quoted. We set an appointment for the next day.
When I brought the car back, I waited for it and took advantage of the wifi and got some of my own computer work done. During the 3+ hour wait, I was able to hear how he interacted with customers and grew increasingly confident about his business based on the conversations. I listened to how members of his diverse customer based talked with him; almost like you'd talk to a doctor you've known for decades. Sometimes he'd retort a customer's , "I think it's..." with a "...I doubt if that's necessary, let's check X, Y, and Z before you go to the expense...". Overall I could tell this guy had earned a lot of trust from customers. I also learned I was one of a few that day had been referred by another as "the place to go".
Since then, I've had a bunch of work done across 4 different vehicles (I tend to drive high-mileage stuff including a '02 BMW) and I can't recommend anyone in any line of work as highly as this mechanic. Before I bought the BMW I asked him a ton of questions about the good and bad of buying German - he's an advocate of Honda and Nissan products but sees the niceness of other brands. Having now owned the BMW about 13 months, his, "here's the upside, here's the downside" has been pretty prescient. His shop (7 or 8 mechanics total I think) is right beside City Auto off Covington Pike. If you Google them you'll find their site quickly."
That's my candid feedback.
