Nick and his crew were the most polite and knowledgeable mechanics I've ever had the pleasure to bring my car in for service to. Totally trustworthy and they go the extra mile to make sure your car is as important as their own is. If I ever have another issue with my 2002 Nissan altima....I am so there. Thanks again Nick and crew!!! Love their quality service!

I came in, in the afternoon of one of the hottest days of the year so far to have my daughter's A/C looked at. Every bay was filled, some with multiple cars and the parking lot was filled. I walked in the office and Nick (from the start) took care of me. He made me feel at ease and was on-point. He told me what he was going to do, he did it to the "T" and hooked me up. I now have a new place to take the three vehicles from my driveway when maintenance issues come up. I would recommend them in a heartbeat! Thank you!

*** No need to look any further. We have been going to Autocare for years, you will not find a more reliable, honest and qualified mechanic. Nick is the best, he always takes time to explain things to me in a way I understand. Thank you Nick.

I've been in the valley for many years and have had my vehicles serviced at a handful of repair shops (Sun Devil Auto, Purcell's, Greulich's and Shadow Mountain Auto). It took some time but I have finally found the shop I know I can trust to do quality work with excellent service. I am not writing this review after one stop. I'm now writing this review after being a customer for almost 2 years. My first experience was amazing. I was taking my family of 5 on a road trip and wanted out vehicle to get a look over before the long drive. The Operations Manager, Nick, not only found a repair that needed to be done but also had his mechanics stay after hours on a Saturday to get it completed so that I was able to make the trip with peace of mind. I was shocked and relieved to meet such great people. I've been a returning customer ever since and have nothing but great things to say about Nick and his team. I've taken every chance to recommend them to friends, family and now hopefully the readers of this review. To give another example of their honesty just happened yesterday. I got a favorable quote from Nick on a repair I needed of $700. When I went to pick up my vehicle, Nick hands me the bill....$600 and was proud to say his team got the repair done quicker than he thought and was able to cut the cost because of it. Not many shops would be so honest. Nick truly cares about his customers and the work that leaves his shop and for that I'll be a return customer as long as he's there. He had a nice shop on 40th and Thunderbird but his new shop on 42nd Street and Bell Rd is even nicer. Thank you Autocare Air Conditioning and Brake and good luck at your new larger location!

Just left this place and I am completely satisfied with their job. I came in to get a second opinion and a second estimate, they were a little more expensive than the first place I had been to but said they would match any price as far as it was written down, so I brought in my paper work. The reason why I chose them was because they actually SHOWED me what was wrong with my car and explained to me everything and that right there showed me a sincere service. Nick was great and even waited for me 10 minutes past their closing time. Highly recommended!!

Auto Care AC & Brakes are located in the same property as Auto Zone and directly behind them. I am grateful to have gotten the referral from Guy, Representative at Auto Zone to see these awesome guys. I was greeted and helped by Chuck the mechanic and I came in to inform him of the issues I have been experiencing and what was diagnosed. The diagnoses indicated both knock sensors for replacement and an ABS light. Chuck listened and assessed my vehicle problems and asked me additional questions.
Come to find out by Chuck that was not captured by the diagnosis was a need to replace my alternator to my battery and he thoroughly explained to me in easy to understand terms why this was the issue. I was quoted $309 with parts, labor and taxes and thankful they waived the diagnostic fee. They still recommended getting the ABS fixed and my knock sensors replaced by the time I have my MVD emissions test and shoot that's by November of this year! However, Chuck eased my nerves by informing that the knock sensor does not control my engine and wouldn't be causing the problems it had prior to their service of replacing the alternator. My vehicle was cutting out when I would accelerate and it was scary while being in heavy traffic for a serious potential accident. ACAC&B backs their parts for 1 year and mechanic work warranty of 6 months.
The auto repair store is clean and I was informed newly renovated. I am very happy that I ended up here and had the work done by them. I went to several places and it was only relayed to replace my knock sensors and nothing else showed up, but they also needed my vehicle longer for an assessment since my vehicle problems where intermittent. Chuck on the other hand asked pertinent questions and really investigated the issues. He gathered information that this happens at night, while I am making a turn and while I have both my air conditioning and my headlights on. He hooked up my car with the headlights and a.c. on and showed me that the power of the alternator to the battery ran below the standard range and while turning it dropped.
Chuck also mentioned that fixing the knock sensors would not fix the priority issue of my engine cutting out. He has reassured that this has resolved it. I'll await and see if the indicator engine lights on my dash return and who knows...HOPEFULLY, the fix he did resolves everything and I don't need the other work! That way for the knock sensors I won't have to shell out between $850 to $1,200 what I was quoted at other auto repair places.
Chuck is awesome! THANK YOU CHUCK and Company. Also a special thank you to Heath for helping me out too and luckily he was nearby.
I highly recommend this business! :)

Sorry Nick. But no part of my review was false. I have the entire conversation between you and I recorded, and my S.O. has his recorded as well. You never offered to fix the issue free of charge; you repeatedly told me you would "go after people who leave negative reviews". If anyone wants to hear what this guy is really like, send me a message at
and I'll be happy to send you both recorded calls where he states he's going to go after me for leaving a bad review. He also states that since his shop was unable to duplicate my stalling issue, he can't help us. He stated further that me asking for a refund was "abusive" and he then hung up on me. Keep it classy Nick! You've been reported to the BBB and, as I have a lawyer through my employment, you will be responding to all of the evidence we have in court. Yelpers, if you haven't gathered yet: DO NOT GO HERE!

After going to 3 different places for my ailing truck A/C and having zero luck, Auto Care finally got it back to life! First, a little history... the 3 shops performed dye tests which all turned out negative. I gave up and just started adding off-the-shelf freon, and a little warning to everyone...that is NOT a good idea! After a while, my A/C got even worse and started making some scary noises.
I decided to take a chance on Auto Care, and I'm thanking my lucky stars I did. Nick, the manager, was really great to work with. He had a packed house on the 110 degree day I called, but he still managed to fit me in. The A/C problem was diagnosed and fixed quickly, and the price seemed very fair. I could tell from our interaction and the interactions he had with other customers there that he did business the right way...with integrity. That seems to be hard to find these days.
I don't know squat about cars, but I do know that I would highly recommend Auto Care to anyone looking to get their A/C fixed. I'm planning on taking my truck there for whatever else it needs.

Nick is a stand up guy and will take great care of you. I brought my car in for an A/C repair, and he was honest and upfront, and kept me updated the whole way through. I know a bit about cars, and I know it's not always cut and dry when it comes to repairs.
I have been working on cars for a long time, and I know when things are beyond my expertise and experience. If I run into this problem, I call Auto Care and I know I'm in good hands.
Phoenix needs more honest, compassionate business owners like Nick at Auto Care. Thanks for taking care of my baby!

This place seems like a nickel and dime place. I went to get my a/c fixed here and it took 3 times to get it right! Mind you, I already had been to another place before this and didn't want to deal with this issue any longer-I live in Phoenix! I wound up paying what I would have for a whole new a/c system in the long run over time when you added up the hoses and condenser and this that and the other each time I had to get changed. My a/c probably would've been a lot better had a just gotten a whole new compressor kit and caboodle for $1200, but I was trying to save money and went here to get a second opinion. The first time they said it was just some hoses and I paid $200 or so. Then it broke after a month. I went back and I even said after the second time they tried to fix it, are you sure this is it because I don't want to come back here again and they said yes. A couple weeks later and I had to come back a 3rd time when it stopped working again. Also, it kept breaking in the summer in AZ as you can imagine driving for 1 hr home in 112 degree weather from work didn't make me happy! I'm sorry but their waiting area isn't very nice and their bathroom is gross. Also it always takes hours for work to be done on my car here, I asked Nick how long it would take one time and he goes not long-5hours later-I should've just walked home. I won't be back here.

I found Nick's Auto Care through a former boyfriend who used to take his fleet of trucks there for his business. I have continued to use Nick and his guys year after year. He has done transmission work, break work, and even took a Ford Truck that I inherited which was not even running working so that I could sell it for much more than I expected. Nick NEVER over charges, but ALWAYS does a good job and is just honest. I used to get multiple quotes before going to him. I don't waste my time anymore. He does only what needs to be done for a fair price. The only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars is because he is a little hard to find. Not only is the shop itself a little hidden from the main road, he is also basically invisible online. A little web presence and Google map presence would serve him well. Highly recommend.

What a nightmare of underhanded characters and deceit. My last trip to autocare was not my first unfortunately, so that being said, it's my fault I guess.
Please read this entire review, hopefully it won't get deleted as I see others have (I think the name of the establishment was slightly changed).
The first or second time after having work done at Nick's place, I ended up stranded on the side of the road due to a hose (see later entry on hoses :-P) to my radiator not being clamped down properly. Unacceptable! My good friend (whom I feel EXTREMELY bad for referring to these rats) had a similar issue where not only were basic components not replaced when replacing his radiator, but was filled with WATER! And yes, was broken down the next day after for a hose being burst off of the engine.
NEVER expect to leave paying anything close to what you've been quoted, Nick will always call you with a phony disappointed tone with a whimsical tale of what else he found, and just as well, you will ALWAYS need new hoses, and Nick will make sure he puts them on and charges you (at a ridiculous price) with no prior consent.
The final straw.... Our work van needed a new engine. Nick found one! After all the same BS later, it was close to TWICE what he quoted (my van still drips oil I might add). But it doesn't end here, no, that would be too easy. After returning a few days later to have a fuel line installed (that we already paid for in the bill near twice what was quoted) Nick tried to charge again. Already fed up with EVERYTHING, there began a verbal confrontation, and Nick will make damn sure to let you know what a favor HE is doing you by you giving him YOUR business, things went very array. He called me back a few minutes later to "apologize", BUT with yet some more bad news, for some reason "hmmm" he needed
hours more time (he said they had got the wrong part, but had been working with it for a couple hours and said it would be about an hour job).
Well, when I finally went to pick up my van, all seemed well, that is, until I got in.... All my hand tools, a load of power tools and a great deal of material was STOLEN! Aprox $3000 in MY STUFF, GONE!
Of coarse before the police came, Nick locks up and leaves right??! And with no sign of forced entry and all that was taken being systematically taken out with none of my pre-existing mess being disturbed, well, you do the math.
I have no PROOF that Nick or his shady looking workers stole or HAD my tools taken, but kinda funny that the officer who took the report also said it looked and felt like an inside job.
So ALL that being said, and me feeling like a complete over trusting MARK, I URGE you to PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE! Nobody should have to suffer this kind of injustice.
PS. This case is ongoing, though I doubt anything will come of it. My ONLY hope is that this does not happen to anybody else. I'll let Karma handle the rest.

Great service. Nick and his team have taken care of small things in the past and have always tried to work within my very tight budget. I have an older car and found myself in a position to take it in for a complete over haul. While I was shocked at how much all the little things were going to cost, he explained everything to me and let me know what needed to be done now and what could wait a little while. I am very confident in referring people to him because I feel he is very trust worthy and easy to work with.

I've been taking my car's to Nick's Auto Care for about 10 years now. They are fair, honest, and extremely good at what they do. They go out of their way to help the customer. I am a single woman who knows NOTHING about cars and never once have I ever felt like I was sold a service I didn't need or ripped off when I left. You will be very pleased with the service you receive here.

Front desk agent/manager was friendly I'll give him that. This place is expensive for a shop with bars on the windows. Hey auto care Scottsdale is 3 miles east buddy! Usually places say no charge on the diagnostic if you get the work done there. Not this place. They charge for everything. Some places nickel and dime you, Auto Care tens and twenties you. So they couldnt figure it out my problem and subcontracted it out to a specialist. Three days and many hundreds of dollars later I get the car back and it's not fixed. NOT FIXED! Same exact problem. Who does that?

I took my car in and needed to get my front brakes and struts replaced... it cost me a helluva lot, but these guys tried to make it as painless as possible.
I've taken my car to them several times now. I've been pleased with their work and their prices are competitive. The manager is a friendly guy too.
It's hard for me to be cheerful after spending SO MUCH MONEY on car repairs, but I have no complaints about their business.
