SCAM ALERT! Just look at the guy below with one star - pulling same shady deal with me. Was quoted $800 (dealer at $1100) - had the car towed and sure enough all of a sudden the bill jumps to $1160!!! CROOK! Don't take your car here!! I'm having him put the parts back in and get it towed to VW dealer.

Beware

He tried to bump up my bill on a simple repair by saying I needed a part that I found could not even be installed in my vehicle. When I caught him red handed I demanded my vehicle back which was somehow mystically working before the supposed part even came in. My bill should have been about 20.00 due to a wire that I could not find te short in but I guess he could not stand the temptation to bump up the bill...

The best!!

We were from out of town and the timing belt went on our car. It was taken to one repair shop that quoted us over $2,000 to be fixed. My sister recommended we take it to have Dave look at it. He was so professional and told us the best and worse senerio. We left our car with him and took a rental back home. He called and told us that only the belt was broke and the final bill was $605!! I would recommend him to anyone who lives near Cape Canaveral, Fl. Very professional and more importantly very HONEST!!

Came off the Disney Dream to a dead car. Tried jumping it but no luck. Tried several items and concluded the started was bad. Called Daves and he said he could get us on quickly. He ordered the starter ahead of time to save us time on our vacation. And the price was less than starters I've had replaced at home in Illinois. Thanks Dave!

Never again, where do I start, first bid was 1,000 for the cross member bar,it was beyond rusted, but they just had it up on hoist 2 months before when they did my oil change and said nothing to me so whole front end fell. then ended up being 200 more, got it home, my alarm is not working and both wiper hoses are broke, I told them about it and they played it off it was the sun baking on the hood, 1 month later battery light came on and It was losing power, they said it was the crankshaft that was cracked, I said could of that happened when you worked on my car a month ago. They said yes, it's possible cause your motor was swinging when we put it back on. Needless to say I didn't let them touch my car a second time and had it towed out of there, they wanted to charge me 400.00 for a crankshaft and tune up. When I had it done for $100. And they didn't put all the clips on the part that goes above my tire the first time, only half there. Never again. Huge rip off, but they think they got you cause not alot of shops beachside

Camping in Jetty Park and was recommended by them when our truck barely made it there. Glenn looked at truck and had a running truck about 30 minutes later. Offered his # and transportation if we had any other issues. Very friendly service and honest!

I had my vehicle checked out there for not starting. They called me with an estimate saying it was the fuel pump and it was going to cost $756.00, I took it right up the street to get a second opinion and it cost me 231.00, turned out it was a relay and not the pump. I was charged 80.00 just for Dave's to give me a mis diagnostic.. I will never do business with this service shop and I would recommend anyone be careful with the quotes they give you, even for an oil change. RIP OFF ARTIST!!

DAVE HAS BEEN TAKING CARE OF ME FOR YEARS ALWAYS SATISFIED. THE OTHER DAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR LOST POWER. AFTER HE RAN THE PCM DIAGNOSTICS IT TOLD HIM THE NUMBER TWO PLUG WAS ARCHING OFF A BARE SPOT IN THE WIRE. THE CHARGES WERE FOR 1 HOUR FOR THE PCM DIAG, 1 HOUR TO REPLACE THE PLUGS AND WIRES AND THE PARTS. BILL WAS $262.00. JUST TO CHECK I CALLED THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND ASKED FOR A PRICE TO JUST CHANGE THE PLUGS AND WIRES, NO PCM DIAG, AND THE QUOTE WAS $240.00. SO AGAIN VERY SATISFIED WITH THE DEAL @ DAVE'S. PLUS I DROPPED IT OFF IN THE MORNING AND PICKED IT UP LATE AFTERNOON KEITH

I had my car towed here for over-heating on long hwy drives. I was taken back a little with rudeness over the phone, but I gave them a chance anyway. (I asked if he needed my number & he said 'Um, no you just called me on it' I came in a few days later & the employee said they didn't have my number, so there was no way to be in touch.) They replaced the heater hose & charged me $209. I took my car to work the next day & it did the same thing. I called & again Dave had a rude comment. "How far did you drive it?" "Oh! Well, I didn't drive it that far." (As if it's my fault for driving it too far) I brought it in again, and he estimated me at $450 for a new radiator. I was willing to pay it until I knew better. After asking around, the locals tell me Dave is a "rip off artist" and shook their heads at the prices I told them. I got someone else in town to replace my radiator for $260. I told Dave I didn't want to do it anymore and picked up my car. He was so rude when I came to pick up my car. He didn't even look at me or say thank you. I DID spend $200 there and I thought I deserved better costumer service. I felt as if my money wasn't appreciated. I may have gone back for small repairs, as this shop is so close to my house, but I really don't appreciate the attitude I got, the high prices and mostly the bad costumer service. You lost another local.

Our experience with Dave's "Beach Auto Repair" has been that Dave, John and Billy do an outstanding job for a fair price. Three years ago, when we had a flat battery, AAA determined we needed a new alternator. John told us there was nothing wrong with the alternator. Charge: zero. The driver's window on our car needed a new motor. Two years later the passenger's window on our car needed a new motor. Cost of service was the same. Dave has a sign that reads: "Good + Fast = Expensive, Good + Cheap = Slow, Fast + Cheap = Inferior." We think Dave's "Beach Auto Repair" should have a sign that reflects their outstanding service, "Good + Fast = Honest and Reasonable."

Was quoted $800 for a clutch repair (VW dealer quoted $1100) - decided to bring it do Dave's - wish I hadn't - all of a sudden the bill was $1160. No guarantee on the work except for one year, and they stated only if it was not misused. What a terrible decision I made to go HERE. As I type, I am requesting him to put the parts back and I am having it towed to the VW dealer. This guy is a crook and overcharges. If you take your car, make sure you get a written quote. Better yet, DONT take it at all.

We've been taking our '96 Ford Explorer to Dave's Beach Auto for years and he's been keeping it purring, which amazing considering our proximity to the beach. He rates are pretty standard, his estimates are right-on, and I've never felt ripped off like I have at other auto shops. Glad to have a shop like this beach-side.

I caught the owner I assume was Dave red handed a few years ago trying to bump up the repair cost with a part that could not even be installed on my vehicle. I normally fix stuff myself but this repair had me stumped. I should have called the cops or filed a BBB claim because I had documented proof of the act. I did not pay the bill and the owner knew I had caught him. My vehicle was actually working when I asked for it back two days before the supposed part was even installed. I simply made a promise to myself to write a public review every so often to warn other people about this type of practice here. This guy Dave did not act in a honest way on my repair and basically tried to rip me off. I am not sure how often he tries it but he did with me. The most honest auto repair place I've found around here has been Westside Auto on Merritt Island. Ask for George the German guy.

Beach Auto Repair is my favorite repair shop. They have helped me keep my daughter's tired Jeep running and fixed some very tough problems. Expect reasonable prices and fair treatment. If it gets better than this I have not found it. Just wish they had a location in California too!
