My son's car died at the side of the road one evening. We called Gene's and right away they sent a tow truck for the car and took it to the shop. The next day they called to let us know what was wrong and fixed it - he's had no problems since and it's been a few months since the issue occurred. The prices for repair were very reasonable and they were very professional and courteous. Gene's has won all our future business and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

Originally took my car here because I hit something in the road that bent my rim. Gene's called around to junk yards and found a new rim for me and was a very good price to boot. I since then have bought tires for my wife's car and took her car there when she hit a curb and bent the rim.

I called all over north KC a few years ago for tire prices and Gene's had the best deal. Since then I've taken my cars to Gene's several times for tire replacements and always had excellent service. I'm disappointed to read the 2 negative reviews on this site, and expect that Gene's promptly remedied these problems. This is a good business with many years service in Liberty. I'll call on Gene's first, next time I need tires.

Had them install a transmission in my car and they used the wrong length of bolts to attach it to the motor mounts. Some of them vibrated loose and the remainder shared off in the mount. It almost leapt out of the hood when it changed gears. Cost me an additional $1500 because I couldn't trust them to make it right. INCOMPETENT!

Technicians were smoking in the facility. Now my vehicle smells like smoke. To be coming in a workplace in clear violation of the Clear Air Act is completely unacceptable, especially when the value of someone's property is at stake. I've reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully the business owner takes action to improve his garage's respect of the law and others.

The new owners of Gene's Tire and Service have helped myself and my family on numerous occasions. Scott Snyder who used to be the GM now owns it, and I would not trust my vehicles to anyone else in the KC metro area. He has always bent over backwards to ensure my 'fleet' of 5 vehicles stay in tip top shape. Both of my older daughters have been going there since they were 16, and he's never once over-charged them, or talked them into unnecessary repairs....a common issue I find some women face when going to a mechanic. I've had ball joints replaced, transmissions, various sensors, brakes, and tires. As my family owns and operates a heavy-duty diesel repair facility, I have a unique perspective into what a quality and professional shop should be, and in my opinion this is it.

Updated review - I've lowered it to ONE star, simply because I can't give them 0.
The original ball joints on the truck made it 85,000 miles. The ball joints they initially installed FAILED after only 12,500 miles. The ones they put in after those crappy ones failed lasted only 35,000 miles.
They do shoddy work and use cheap parts. Go ANYWHERE else.

I was passing through, on I-35, got a flat. Call them and they said they fit me in. I got there they fixed the flat quickly and professionally . unusual experience when traveling through an area you're not known In .

Give this place a call.
I shopped, called, drove, shopped more, called more, shopped again, and received approximately 10 estimates around the KC metro regarding 4 new tires and standard oil change/preventive maintenance.
Gene's Tire Service beat them all with a very good tire to boot.
They will treat you fairly, professionally and schedule your vehicle around your day.
UPDATE: We purchased the hazard warranty for our 800.00 dollar tires and had a puncture in one about 4 months into the new tires.
Gene's took us in immediately, fixed the punctured tire and sent us on our way in minutes without as much as a how'd that happen.
The whole shop is top-notch and will not try to sell you anything you don't want or need.
