These guys are beyond fantastic. We have been customers for many years and have always had great interactions with every single person who works here. For any women who are reading this review looking for a mechanic, you will especially appreciate the way the staff assume you have a working knowledge of engines and explain necessary repairs without being condescending. I'd give more stars if I could.

Read the reviews on here and decided to give this shop a chance. I'm so glad I did. Just picked up my CR-V and couldn't be happier with my experience at this shop. Ken has more than fair prices and explained everything to me so that I understood. He knows Honda very well, my dealer I bought the car from had the incorrect sparkplugs in. He also noted things that weren't necessary now but would need attention in the future and didn't try to just add $ to the bill. From now on I will not go anywhere else.

Recently moved to town and was sad to leave my trusted, local mechanic back in Oregon. I decided to try Pete's based on their consistent five-star reviews, and will now add one more to the list. Very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and honest staff. Won't hesitate to go to Pete's anytime my car needs attention. Happy to have found my new, trusted mechanic.

I had my power locks fail on my 2008 Acura MDX. The fix required a new computer. The mechanic kept me updated and allowed me to bring a used computer in saving me almost $400 in parts alone. It was a complex electronic repair involving the security system and they tracked everything down and solved it. Thank you!

Researched Honda service providers and was impressed with Pete's rating so I called to see if they could help me get a front license plate holder for my vehicle...I provided requested info and was told no problem they'd be able to order the part and install the next day! I was impressed with the professional, courteous, and friendly way they helped me. Their facilities are clean and they have a nice waiting area...I look forward to returning for maintenance and service on my vehicle.

Do people and places like this really still exist? Yes! My family and I were on our way out of town to a wedding in Seattle and our minivan starting having a strange set of issues. I managed to Yelp my way to Pete's. The problem? When we had our Odyssey maintenance at Larry H Miller they failed to secure some wiring after a filter change resulting in the untimely malfunction as we headed out of town. These fine folks diagnosed and fixed our issue in less than 10 minutes and then didn't charge me and thing. This is amazing. We now have a new mechanic. Too bad, so sad Larry H Miller.....

Saved me major big bucks! Had previously been to the local Lexus dealer (who shall remain nameless) and they gave me a laundry list of things I needed for my almost-10-year-old Lexus. Pete's double checked everything and... surprise! I don't need to do any of them! I will return here for all maintenance and repair work. Just sorry it took me so long to find Pete's.

I couldn't be happier with my experience at Pete's Honda.
I came in because another mechanic, Lloyd's on the South Hill, told me that I needed some struts and shocks replaced.
Pete's told me my struts and shocks were in perfect condition, and had even ordered new parts for me just in case they did end up needing to be replaced.
They didn't charge me anything for their time. No other mechanics I have been to have told me that they didn't find anything that needs to be fixed or replaced.
I highly recommend Pete's.

Though my Subaru had been serviced recently in LA I encountered some mechanical problems on my road trip up to Spokane, a shuddering engine with check engine light blazing. Anxiously I pushed through the last 400 miles and limped into town, fearing I had done some serious damage along the way. Pete's was recommended to me by a few friends, specializing in Japanese cars. When I called, Ken warned me that they were slammed and it might be a while before he could get to my car but less than 24 hours later he called me back to tell me it had been fixed.
For what sounded like a substantial amount of work, unbolting and lifting out the engine to change worn out spark plugs and perform an overall tune-up, the price was extremely reasonable and now my car runs better than it has in ages. The folks at Pete's did top notch work at a great value and with friendly service to boot. I'll be a return customer and would recommend them to any other Japanese car owners.

I love Pete's Honda. I don't even have a Honda, I drive an SC400 Lexus. A while back I was told that an o-ring was leaking around the oil filter and that it needed to be replaced. Because this car is hard to find parts for they had to special order it. When I brought it in for my oil change and to have the seal replaced it ended up that it wasn't the O-ring at all but a pin hole leak in the power steering hose, but was too small to worry about. What I like about this place is that they could have replaced the O-ring anyway and charged me for it. I never would have known otherwise, but that's not how these guys work. They are honest and do a great job for a great price. :-)

I took my car in to Pete's after having it evaluated by a local dealer. I had an engine light on and another light blinking. The dealer told me they weren't 100% sure what was wrong and I needed a new part that would cost $2,500 and then they were not sure if that would correct the problem. They also said that I needed my Timing belt replaced at $1,000 and 3 other things at $110 each. I remember it was around $4,000 and my car is worth about $7,000. I thought this was ridiculous and refused to get the work done and they still charged me $260 for an oil change, changing tires, and to check out the light. I still had the light issue. I decided to take it to a private mechanic. I did a lot of research and took it to Pete's based on the positive reviews and his reputation for honesty. The owner said that he had never seen anything like this before and wanted me to leave my car for a day. I left it there the next morning and received a call that he had fixed the problem. My GPS was not working and he asked me if I would like to replace the GPS with a new or used unit. The used unit would cost me $400 and the new one was $1,500. I decided to go with the used unit. He stated that the problem had to do with the GPS unit. The entire cost to fix my car was $586. I will be taking my car back to Pete's in the future.

There was a mix up on a repair we were having done however we worked it out because Ken the Mechanic has Superior Customer service and didn't want to loose us as customers. So needless to say we will be coming back again ! Quoted way less than Larry Miller Honda...so relieved to find someone else in the area that uses Honda Certified parts !
They had our vehicle done in the amount of time they said they would. They made sure to contact us if there was anything else they may have found while doing work on our vehicle.

Pete's has a great team. This was the only auto shop I used while living in Spokane. My father was a mechanic for many years and typically did all of my repairs for my 1994 Accord, but occasionally I would need an auto shop, and Pete's was it.
They are incredibly trustworthy. My father always diagnosed my car, even if he didn't have the time to repair it himself. Many shops in the city would add on extra 'necessary' repairs, but the guys at Pete's always gave advice that aligned with my father's diagnosis, so I trust them.
One horrible summer I had to have my main relay, and my transmission replaced. ($60 for the main relay, no big --but much more for the transmission, obviously.) The guys initially quoted me for $1,900, but I was hopeful we could find a less expensive option. They spent a few days calling around, found a center in Idaho that sells slightly used (60k mile) transmissions, and purchased me one for a lot less. Ultimately, I got a slightly used transmission for several hundred dollars less than a new one. They took care of everything. I never even made a phone call. They had my car fixed incredibly quickly -- it couldn't have been more than a week between my initial consultation with them and the final repair.
I can't recommend them enough. Not only are they honest and fair, but they really went out of their way and bent over backwards to help me.

The check engine light on a 1995 honda civic I just bought inexplicably turned on. I researched and called several local businesses looking for a place that would read the diagnostic code and or quote me for a diagnostic assessment. All places called were $90 and up and I would have to make an appointment.
Not Pete's Ind Honda--free reading, same day. My problem? An errant wire that had popped out of its place, which they fixed on the spot. I've scheduled a comprehensive diagnosis for later this week (also free) for them to give me the full rundown on my car.
This place is clean, their techs are friendly (both mechanics greeted me when I walked in) and attentive (I was helped immediately).
I really like Ken so far, he seems very honest, very much a straightshooter, and watching him under the hood of my Civic, the man is competent as all get out. They have their rates neatly displayed in nice handwriting on a dry erase, a friendly receptionist, and coffee available. I think I've found my car docs! Highly recommended.

We were passing through Spokane over the summer when our Honda transmission started acting up so bad we had to consult a mechanic. Pete's helped us right away and was able to make our van hold up until we got home for minimal cost. They didn't try to make us stay for a repair and ruin our trip, they checked into a rental for us, and really acted like a good business as far as I'm concerned. I doubt I'll need Honda service in Spokane again because I live hundreds of miles away, but if I do, it's Pete's all day long. These guys are terrific, and even have an old school video game to kill time while your rig is getting fixed.

Ken@ Pete's Honda is AWESOME. Every time the dealer said something that I was skeptical about I've taken it to Pete's Honda and Ken has NEVER steered me wrong. If I hear something coming from my 2004 Honda Accord or feel something different I have always taken it to Ken and he has always taken the time to inspect my car. I have never gone back to the dealer since!!! Honest, reliable, great prices, and as a woman, I have NEVER felt like I'm being taken advantage of @ Pete's Honda! What a relief!!

I've been needing a new mechanic for my Honda vehicles since my previous independent Honda mechanic retired. I needed to get a repair done this week before I went out of town, so I put a call in to both independent Honda repair shops in Spokane.
Ken (the owner) called me back within an hour with an estimate for the work I had requested, and was able to schedule the repair on the one day I had off work. Ken was very friendly, straightforward and informative in our discussion about the repair and other service related questions. I dropped off my car at 8:30 in the morning and the repair and additional service I requested was completed by 1pm.
The total cost was a bit more than I expected. Apparently the estimate hadn't included tax and other miscellaneous service charges. I wasn't too bothered by the difference, but Ken immediately offered to knock $25 off the total, more than the difference I had noted. That's definitely a first in my experiences with auto repair shops! I'm looking forward to taking my business to Pete's Honda Repair in the future. I rated four stars because of my limited experience with this business, but I definitely received 5-star service today and will update my rating in the future.
Incidentally, the other Honda guy finally called me back two days later. I'm guessing I didn't miss out on anything with that kind of "speedy" call back.
March 2015 Update:
I continue to take my vehicles into Ken and his crew, and they haven't disappointed me yet. They've moved to a new shop where I think they're doing a lot more business. I'm sure that's great for them, but I don't feel like I have the same access I had before. Ken seems to oversee everything but isn't as involved with the actual work as he used to be. I only hope he's selecting good people who are doing the work. It was easy to trust Ken with my vehicles because I was comfortable with his competency. It's another thing entirely to trust the competence of his people that I don't know. I'll continue to go as long as I feel the work is good and I'm treated fairly.
