Autobody shop has always had a...

Autobody shop has always had a seedy reputation in my experience. Loads of escuses and price is always higher when the work is done, and done late. Well folks, that is not the case at this little place. The owner, Kirk have been in the biz for a long time and aside from clearly knowing his trade, he is one of the few old school guys who believe in earning his pay and not talking his way out of anything. The work is as good as anyplace i ahve been to and i own a lot of exotic cars, over 20 of them! I never told him that as some palce treat you different if they know you will ahve more work or you appear affluent. So when my first Maserati came back perfect and on time. I was impressed, now two year and dozens of paint jobs, repairs, etc on my Aston Martins, Ferraris,Mercedes, Lamborghini and Porsches. I can say this, go there and you will get a honest estimate and on time delivery with flawless work. They don't charge you what they are worth and i have told kirk to raise his prices, it is that good!

Super Job

I highly recommend Dun – Rite for all your auto body repairs. Our SUV has some very nasty damage to the rear quarter panel, lift gate, and rear end. Kurk assessed the damage, provided an estimate, and promised quality work and completion date. He delivered on all aspects. No secret charges or delays. We got the car back when promised; at the estimated cost; and with a flawless repair job. Come here first – why give your work to the non caring corporations when there is a local, family owned business that does better work and cares about quality.

Couldn't be happier

Thank you soooo much for fixing the mess that my insurance company made of my car. If I had known before that I could go to anyone that I wanted to then I would have looked for a shop like yours to begin with. I couldn't be happier. I love my car again.

I took a 2003 Nissan Exterra here to get it repaired. It has not been drivable ever since. I took it back to them and ask them to fix it properly. I was told to take it across town to a mechanic shop. The shop charged me $100.00 and for that I was told it need new tires and a new belts. It has been parked for several years now and I DEFFIENTLY WOULD NOT recommend Dun Rite. Dun Wrong is more realistic!

This was a good shop until Kurt retired. His son now runs it. While they are capable of good work the business is run in a very unprofessional manner. For example, they told me that my bumper would have to be removed and repaired, repainted and clearcoated. They indicated that the entire bumper would be painted. When I got the car back there were still bugs on the bumper from my last trip. A door molding was damaged and needed replacement. I came in with information from the internet about where the trim could be ordered at a reduced cost. I was told that there was no need to replace the molding and that they could repair it simply by gluing into place and I would save money. It looked bad. The new manager informed me that it should have been replaced but that I requested that they glue it. He told me that it would be $150 for a new trim and indicated that there would be no credit for the unsatisfactory repair since in his opinion they probably had not charged me for the work in the first place. They gave me no written estimate and wanted cash. There were several other problems having to do with the wheel wells and the splash shields which I discussed with them at length when I got the estimate. They were not even touched. When I pointed this out to them they said that they would have to order some clips and that I should call to make sure that they had come in before bringing the car back. I called three times over three weeks with no results. I could go on but I think that I have gotten the idea across. All of the work was minor. I paid $600 but feel that I got about $400 of value. I made five trips to their shop. Its not worth chasing them for what I feel is $200. I will just find a new shop in the future. I don't think that they will be around long anyway.

First of all I was recommended because of good service and price. I went in they gave me a good quote and informed me they will be calling when the part comes in. A week passed by and when I called back they hung up on me. The guy called me back from his cell phone saying he had no information of me ever coming in. I honestly don't know how they are still in business. They should be called Done WRONG!

I would rather have oral surgery without anesthesia than have to find a new Mechanic, but that's what I was faced with when my 1993 MR 2 died due to electrical problems. After the nightmare of finding a tow company that could fit a truck into the 6'10" Mirage self parking garage (thank you Code Blue Towing, I'll be writing a review for you shortly) I set out to find the closest place I could that had any acceptable reviews. That turned out to be DKA Automotive. I was told by a Mechanic friend that it would need a new alternator, so after talking to Dale the owner, I had the car towed there and left it with Dale. I asked him to quote me a price to fix my AC that hadn't worked in years, and check a coolant leak as well as replace the alternator, and I left already feeling the strain on my pocket book. A few hours later I got the dreaded call. The Alternator was fine, it had a loose wire, and all the AC needed was s charge of freon ( I had been told it needed a new compressor and an Evaporator) and as soon as I supplied the part, that I had ordered myself, for the cooling system, he would take care of any coolant leaks I might have, but then I woke up. WAIT YOU MEAN THIS WAS NOT A DREAM?!?!?
Ok, so let's recap, with my wallet Wide open, I asked Dale from DKA Automotive to fix my Electrical, AC, and cooling system, he did it in less than a day and didn't force his hand into my back pocket. The resulting bill was less than I could have dreamed. I was so stunned that I had found an honest Master Technician that I racked my brain and asked him to fix EVERYTHING on my neglected 1993 Toyota, and grinned from ear to ear when he found things that I wasn't aware of or had forgotten. For less money than I had guessed my original request would cost, my little MR2 is running like it never has. My wife's car is there now to fix a pesky check engine light that is preventing registration and I'm trying to find anyone I can to let me take their cars there.
Dale and DKA Automotive have a patron for as long as he is willing to twist a wrench. Do yourself a favor and don't go anywhere else. My faith in the trade had been restored.

Dale, the owner of DKA is extremely helpful and friendly. I initially took my VW here after the dealer claimed I needed upwards of $1500 in supposed repairs during a routine oil change. Dale was recommended to me by a family member, so I took my Passat in for a second opinion. Dale took one look under the hood and told me, quite simply, that the dealer was likely trying to swindle me.
This first visit was about a year ago. Since then, I've taken my car to him at least 5 times for routine maintenance and occasional failures (is a VW, after all), and I have been nothing but pleased. The staff is considerate and honest (such a hard thing to find in the industry) and always, always reasonably and honestly priced.
I would (and have) recommend Dale and DKA Automotive to anyone. Please patronize this business. It's definitely worth it.

Dale is a TOP NOTCH mechanic, and really knows a lot about VW vehicles. What I really appreciated about the whole experience with DKA was the true professionalism and that he didn't try to up sale me and told me exactly what needed to be done. I highly recommend DKA if your looking for an honest repair shop and reasonable prices.

I brought my 1990 Chevy van back to DKA to have the air conditioning repaired, since they did such a good job with the previous work. They pretty much had to refurbish my entire system, as the van is 25 years old. When I first got the van back I wasn't sure if it was blowing cold enough, but after thoroughly sealing and insulating the cab of the van, it cools down nicely now. I still need to have the windows tinted as well. Overall. It was a good job and I'm satisfied.

I took my car into DKA Automotive after getting a problem checked out from a firestone automotive shop - which gave me a laundry list of issues with my car. If you are looking to get a second or even third opinion - this is the first and last place I recommend. Dale explained everything from A-Z and answered all my questions. He gave me an honest and realistic estimate and still was able to give me a price point under his estimate. You know how everyone is looking for an honest mechanic...well look no further. Dale is truly an honest mechanic. Ashley is a pleasure to work with also - they care about how they leave their customers feeling. I will definitely bring in my car again and recommend DKA to all my friends.

DKA and Dale are the best. He is very knowledgeable about my car (Volkswagen) and he is great at explaining everything in a way anybody can understand. It is very rare to meet somebody that is wants to SHOW you what is going on. He is great and always saves old parts to show where/how they failed. He prices are more than fair. I just picked up my vehicle from him after it needed a fuel pump and fuel injector. I ended up paying over $200 less than the next best quote I could find. Every time I bring him one of my cars or off road toys he beats my expectations. My car has 90k miles and is running better than ever thanks to Dale. They are honest, a great value, and do great work. Front office staff is also very delightful too. Thanks Dale and team for all the great work!
