I needed to help out my daughter's roommate who had a bad tire. I called Blatt because of a previous relationship that I had with them and they came thru very nicely. I am in the tire business in Florida and he gave this girl as good of a price as I could of done and maybe better. I dealt with Roger and I was very impressed. The girls promised to spread the word to some of their other flight attendant friends. Thanks Roger.

So here it is , First I do not have any relationship with the business beside the emergency tire replacement that happened to me two days ago. I own a BMW with a sport Package, That mean very few choices when it comes to replace the run flat tires, since front and rear have very unusual sizes. Coming home from NJ I hit a very nasty pothole, although I didn't loose any PSI, when I got home I noticed a huge bubble in the outside of the front tire. My Gf contacted Blatt tire because in the Michelin website were first in the list, Rick told her that my tire was discontinued, but he could order one Updated model for next day and have it replaced. in the morning I checked the back tire on the same side, and another huge bubble. At this point I had a problem in my hands, change one side to two new tires different thread and model, or go for the 4. I decided to go for the 4. I will not lie I shopped around including DE since they do not charge sale tax, but I called Blatt again explained the problem and they said they needed a day to find the back tire. Most places I have called told me 3-5 days!! I left the car on Thursday and they told me it will be done by Friday, The quote was unbeatable, including the 6% PA tax. They also sold me a very reasonable road hazard for the new tires, since this happen to me every year is worth it. I have never done business with them before, and yes is not the most glamorous facility in the Philadelphia area, ( is a mechanic for God'sake not a beauty spa!!) but this people are honest, good workers and get the job done at an affordable price. They will hear from me again when the next set of tires needs change or repair ( hopefully in a long time :)

Writing this review for the fincy but good, HONEST service must be rewarded (or discussed which is indirect reward in the age of Internet ha). Anyway fincer's truck is stalling. Brought it here to be diagnosed, I guess the bad news is they didnt find anything wrong (when it is stalling) but, at least, they didnt trump up issues to tack on charges. Also did not charge him for taking a look at while I know the place we USED to go, def stuck it to ya that way.
update: there was something wrong w truck when it kept doing it and fincer had to take it back again, was finally found. escapes me what happened. and of course wish they would have found in first place however again at least they didnt make shite up. and eventually repaired at reasonable rate.
also since then i also used them for 2 repairs on my car and what got me in there was they were just slightly less than others quotes I got... which was smart of them because of course check engine light went on day before I was due to take car in for strut replacements and they got another job out of the deal. ha... however point is they were efficient, quick and reasonable.

This place is awesome. They offer discounts and have a fast, easy, and reliable service.
The people here are friendly and informative. They are also very honest!
I brought one car here for new tires, and the person helping me explained exactly what I needed and gave me options. They also explained why I needed new tires and made sure I was making an informed decision, rather than just giving me one price and expecting me to hand over my credit card. I really appreciate this, especially when I am spending a significant amount of money on something that is not a topic I am super knowledgeable about.
I don't know too much about cars, but I felt like I was in good hands when bringing my cars here. They also were very accommodating to me and my time/schedule.
I will definitely go here again and would recommend them to friends as a place to go to when you need new tires!

Came here as my car needed an alignment after installing new upper and lower control arms; there was a slight pull to the right. I was able to drop my car off around noon. Front desk had my info and keys within 5 minutes. We discussed picking up the next afternoon, which was fine with me. I ended up getting a call around 4p to let me know my car was done. I couldn't get there until 5:10p, but they were more than happy to wrap up the transaction and get me on my way. We went over the pre- and post-alignment specs (turns out the rear camber was off, but the front looked okay), ran my credit card, handed me my keys and I was done.
This place has two distinct advantages. One, they have their own alignment rack. Some of the other shops in the city do "alignments", but really send your car out a shop that does it for them. It takes longer and you pay a middle man. One place wanted $160 just for the front wheels! Second, they have discounts on their websites that you can print out and bring along. With that, the cost was 40% cheaper than any other place I called. Two, it's close to work.
TL;DR Found a good shop in the city to get an alignment for cheap.

Exceptional service. These guys go above and beyond to repair your car at a great price. They also will take you into the garage and show you exactly what they replaced and the mechanics behind the issue so you don't feel scammed. You walk way knowing more about your car, and how to make simple adjustments to minimize further damage.
I was in an accident and instead of sending me to a body shop where it would cost me thousands they offered to help me make repairs at a very very good price so I could at least drive long distances.
These guys hook it up.

I came here to plug a tire. "No, you need to replace it. It has about 30 miles until it blows". Yeah, I'll just stick with the plug "You're gonna need a plug now or patch it for 60, but I can give you a used tired for about 80".
Nope. No thatnks.
I later got two new tires to replace that one and the opposite one for about 130. About 600 miles later and finding out the wheels had no excess damage.
If you ever potentially consider yourself a chump (I do), take heed when coming here.

Our car (2004 Nissan Maxima) all of a sudden started squealing when we drove it because our brakepads, it came on much faster than I would have thought. We took it to Blatt because of the great reviews and I am so glad we did. Our tires also needed to be replaced and they gave us the best price we have ever had when getting new tires.
They were also very friendly and quick! I dropped the car off first thing in the morning, w/o an appointment, and they called us shortly after to come get it.

We've been using Blatt for about a year and a half.
Unfortunately, my car is now in heaven (possibly hell, Ethel was a bitch in the end.) We won't be using Blatt anymore, but you certainly should.
Some reasons:
They offer coupons on their website.
For routine work, they almost always have the car in and out the same day, without an appointment.
The prices are comparable to anywhere else.
They were as accommodating as possible in the end of Ethel's life.

I own a 2001 ford mustang gt and my check engine light came on. So after reading the other reviews on yelp I decided to take my car into Blatt Tire and Auto Repair.
I dropped it off in the morning and by 3pm they called me to tell me they'd diagnosed the issue and it was my thermostat. So the check engine light scan would cost me $69 and the new thermostat, $18. Cheap fix. Since my car was already there I decided the inquire about another issue I was having. My headlights were very old and I could barely see out of them at night so I asked how much it would be for new headlights. They quoted me $140 per headlight and I saw that they were $130 for both on
. So when I told them about that, they agreed to match the price!
The headlights came in the very next business day, they were installed, and my mustang was ready to be picked up! When I arrived, they took $20 off the cost of the check engine light scan and my total came to $350. Very reasonable price for brand new headlights and a shut off check engine light. Very professional, clean, reliable, and timely establishment with great prices. I highly recommend these guys!

The phrase "don't judge a book by its cover" comes to mind here. With the bay doors down because of the cold this place looks almost deserted and maybe a little scary. Once you go inside and speak to their very nice and knowledgeable counter personnel you realize that you made a good decision coming in. I just stopped in for an inspection and an oil change. They got me out in great time and did a nice job looking at the important stuff like brakes, tires etc.

Hate to say it, but I just assume that there are auto shops out there that take advantage of customers who don't know any better, particularly if those customers are women.
Not the case with Blatt Tires. I've used a half dozen places in Philly, and this place is the real deal. I took my car in twice (once to replace the motor mounts and another time for my check engine light), and both times they diagnosed the problem promptly, patiently explained the issue, and provided me a quote for the repairs, which they stuck to. No surprises tacked on to my bill at the end. The manager, Jim, was also friendly and happy to answer any questions I had.
From here on out, this is where I'm taking my car for any service.

I went to Blatt about a month a half ago when my car wouldn't start. It ended up that my entire computer system was bad and had to be replaced. They told me they could get a used part for $300 and normally they can cost up to $1000. So, thinking this was a great deal, I also got my serpentine belts fixed, since I really didn't want to have any other issues later on and I already knew it had to replaced. The total was about $600 and it took about 5 days! But, I really felt like I wasn't overcharged and it was worth it, because they must have done good work. About a month later my car wouldn't start AGAIN (the exact same way as it was before!) I towed it back to Blatt and asked them to look at it. It took them a day and when they did they said it was my mass air flow sensor and the part for my particular car would be about $300 plus about a half hour of labor. Now, I don't have another $300-400 after just spending $600 a month earlier. (The sucky part about being a young and poor lol) So, I went online and bought the part myself for $40! (It was an after market part but it still did the trick) My car is old why would you buy a part for $300? I put it in today myself (and I don't know much about cars) in under 5 minutes! (Proud of myself ha) This place has good customer service, but don't trust their prices and get a second opinion!!!!
Also, I'm updating this review with one star because the computer they put in was bad and I had to go to the dealer to get it replaced and pay for the same part twice because Blatt said that it couldn't possibly be the computer that was the issue. After all that money spent, it was that they had put in a bad computer.... Wow. They seem like nice guys so I feel bad, but honestly...to get the same thing fixed twice... Not okay.

Mechanics and service centers get major props if they treat me like a quasi-intelligent human being despite my ownership of a vagina. These guys were courteous, not condescending.
I rolled in here when my check engine light came on, they ran a diagnostic and found the issue quickly. They told me the charges up front and explained what the future of my car would be. It's vaguely expensive, but not overly absurd. The neighborhood is a little sketch, and the lack of a car was not ideal, but I'm a big girl. All in all, I'll definitely use them again.

Was referred to Blatt by a garage in my neighborhood to get bent wheels replaced, as the original garage doesn't do wheels. Called around a bit and found that the guys I spoke with at Blatt were very friendly and accommodating to make sure I got the best price. Brought my car in today and they took care of everything I needed in under an hour without an appointment. Since I was also getting a couple new tires they offered to rotate them for free every 5,000 miles and tighten the new lug-nuts in a few weeks.
Hopefully I'll be set for a while, but I would definitely take my car back there if I need to.

So I'm fairly new to the city and needed tires for my car desperatly. I don't have much time on my hands, but I called around for prices, and checked out yelp to see what people had to say. I decided to go to Blatt's and I'm greatful I did.
- The prices were very very reasonable - $20 less per tire than walmart
- they got it in and had me done within 20 minutes
-while I was there I overheard the friendly mechanics explaining to a female customer exactly what had been wrong with her car, and showed her the old parts so she would understand.
These things I've highlighted tell me that Blatt Tire and Auto Service cares about their customers and that the other reviews have it right when they say this is a good place to go.

Came in with a damaged, flat tire at about 7:45am, just because they were the closest to home. They had it replaced with a stock tire and I was out on the road by 8:15 (though they did offer to order an exact brand replacement overnight), all for about 20% less than the last tire I'd replaced on the car.
Friendly, quick, helpful service. Will definitely patron again if needed.

I absolutely loathe anything to do with having my car repaired/maintained, but Blatt made it an all together pleasant and easy experience. I took my car to their Wyncote location to get four new tires. I had called ahead to get a price quote and recommendation. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was knowledgeable, friendly and polite. He didn't try to upsell me and found tires that matched my needs and budget. Having the tires changed was a breeze- I could either wait for it or stop by and pick up the car at my convenience. You pay up front so they can't come back and say 'oh by the way, you need this that and the other thing...'
I would definitely go back again and highly recommend them.

I read the reviews and decided to give this place a shot. I needed a state inspection and an oil change. I dropped my car off around 10am without an appointment and had my car back by 3pm. They seemed to be pretty good about fitting you in if you bring your car in early enough.
When they called me, they let me know that there were a few other things that I should get done now, but could wait a little longer if I wanted. No hard sell here which was nice. These guys were great. I specifically dealt with Roger. He was courteous and easy to deal with.
Also, see the coupons on their website. It offers a pretty decent discount on the state inspection and couple bucks on the state inspection.

Really nice, really helpful. Offered to price match, but gave me the best deal I could find anyway on a new branded tire. 30 bucks cheaper than the place in south philly I tried first.
Also really friendly and quick - did new tire plus oil change in less than an hour with no appointment. Recommended.
*UPDATE*
Just had a full brake replacement front and back plus PA inspection done at Blatt. Again... absolutely outstanding service. Great, for the following reasons:
1) I called a bunch of places for price quotes on inspections and emissions testing, oil changes, and AC recharging. They're prices were way better and far more transparent. (I had another place tell me that they charge extra for the inspection and emissions stickers! Who gets the tests without the sticker?)
2) They have awesome coupons on their website. I forgot to bring mine in and just mentioned them and they automatically applied it to my order.
3) I asked for my AC system to be evacuated and recharged, which they quoted at a little over $100 (note: don't hold them to that, the cost depends on the type of vehicle/refrigerant). I got a call a few hours later and they suggested that I try just replacing the belt, which is over $30 cheaper than the recharging.
4) Same day service, even when I didn't schedule it in advance.

You can feel secure that you'll be treated fair, and have your car or truck taken care of.
Great points:
-Open early. Fred is usually there by 7am,
-Pricing is fair to a bargain. They have oil change coupons, inspection coupons, etc. on their website and don't give you an attitude about using them..
-Jose the senior mechanic knows what he is doing.
I wish:
-They were open on Saturdays.
-They had a key drop so you could drop off your car the night before.
-They were open later in the evening. They close promptly at 5pm.
All in all this is a great place to take your car for regular service, tires, and repairs when needed.

I have an experience that I would like to share. My son-in-law is a certified and experienced auto mechanic who does all of my auto work. He recently told me that my tires need replacement despite the fact that they had ample thread on them. He further told me that because I do not drive much (less than 5,000 miles a year) the thread on my tires were fine, but that the tires were beginning to crack due to age. (He showed me the cracks developing in the tires)
Since Blatt Tires in Philadelphia is only minutes from where I live I went to them and did not tell them what I was told by my son-in-law. I asked that a representative take a look at my tires and offer an opinion as to whether or not they need replacement. (Naturally, I believed and trusted my son-in-law so I was basically price shopping) The representatives' name was Roger Potts. As soon as he looked at the tires he said, "you don't drive much so your tires are cracking from age even though there's plenty of thread." Naturally, that stunned me because although my son-in-law knows my driving habits, Roger didn't know me from Adam, yet he diagnosed the circumstances immediately! Roger went on to recommend replacement and offered a price range that would meet my minimal driving needs while assuring me that I did not need front-end alignment.
No hassles, no hyped-up sales and mail-in rebates, no up-selling, no BS! Just an obviously very knowledgeable and experienced staff offering excellent service and reasonable "out-the-door" pricing.
Oh, BTW, I was in and out in 20 minutes.

Thieves!!!!!! Thieves!!!!!! THIEVES!!!!!!!!
I used to love them for tires.
Needed brakes to pass inspection and they gave me a quote to replace them.
I trusted them so I went with the price.
So I go to pick up my car the next day and they proceeded to charge me $200 more than that but could give me NO REASON as to why.
I told them I would pay the quote only - but they said it is either pay full amt. or they keep my car. Said I could call back the next day for an explanation from the mechanic.
Called back 4 different days and the mechanic was either out or not able to come to the phone and frankly I think they just made up the part about calling back .
And I'm someone they actually knew by name since I would take my car in as well as the cars of several other friends and/or clients.
I will never step foot in the place again.
Way to bite the hand that feeds you Blatt!
