Customer Service?

I just have to say I picked up the phone to get a price on an oil change.. I called, it rang.. someone answered by saying nothing, a few moments of a pause and then hello? Again, hello? Finally he says "Hi"... I ask "am I calling Lakeshore Mobile"? The boy on the other end says yeah, again, another long pause... ? I ask him how much for an oil change, he tells me "we don't take appointments its first come first serve the shop opens at 8" I question what he said, scratching my head and then, once again, repeating to him "how much is an oil change"? Oh well um I think it's like, yeah 40 bucks he says to me.. I clarify his response and ask him once again, an oil change is $40? A standard oil change for a 4 cylinder vehicle, how much is that again? "I just told you 40 bucks".. My final response, of course was... thank you, have a great day yet asking myself how these people have been in business for 35 plus years with those rates & that sort of customer service??

I was in Milwaukee on July 17t...

I was in Milwaukee on July 17th, the hottest, most humid day of the summer this far. Drove all the way from River Falls, WI. My car's air conditioner went out and the battery was also at it's end. I needed to pick my daughter up at O'Hare, the next day. Someone mentioned they had a repair done at Lakeshore and I just barely made it to the station as my gauge was about to hit the red line. I explained my situation to Dennis who assured me he would look at it, even though he had many vehicles that day, and said I should be able to pick it up by noon on the 18th. He found my daughter and I a ride back to her place and had the car ready to go by 6:00 p.m. ! Service was very friendly, professional and respectful. I definately recommend Lakeshore Mobil! Thanks to all of you, I got to the airport on time :-)

Wow, I trusted them with my vehicle and they damaged it during a tow. Fine, mistakes happen but it how you handle it after that matters. So they promised to fix it for 3 months, I kept hearing "waiting for parts". Finally got a time scheduled then they refused to fix it all! Very clearly done during the tow. Have evidence because I bought the car the day before the tow. Very rude and lied over and over. ... See More

I felt like I was in a time warp. I pulled up to the pump last Friday evening to get some gas and before I could even shut off my car an elderly man was knocking on my window. I rolled it down and he asked how much gas I would like (after calling me beautiful). Sorry, but in this day and age you don't come across full service stations and especially not in Milwaukee. The one time in my life I pulled up to a full service pump by mistake, the employee who came out looked annoyed that he might have to help me (I quickly got back in my car and moved to the next pump after seeing the sign).
I was under the impression this isn't a full service pump/station, considering there were no signs and other people were getting their own gas. But he seems to enjoy doing it so I let him and you could tell he worked there or could be the owner for all I know. I felt weird though, I prefer to do things like that myself I guess!
As he came around to hand me my card and receipt, he called me beautiful again and also gave me a Lifesaver mint. It was strange but cute and old timey as well. Guess this might be a good place to stop for gas if it's freezing out and you don't want to get out of the car.

Walking by to ask about bringing my car for general serving. found a young lady crying in her car. Almost the entire staff was ganging up on her and verbally bullying from what i could see. she scampered off to her car with bald tires. Obviously not the brightest bulbs working at this shop. I will keep looking for a decent place because this trashy mess isn't a shop i could go to.

I called and asked how much an oil change was with synthetic oil and gave them the make and model of my car. I was told that it would be $75-$80. It was pouring the day I brought my car in so I had to stay inside the gas station and wait until my car was done. Every five minutes, a mechanic would come in and get something to eat or drink. I waited over an hour for a oil change which I would somewhat understand if they were busy but they took my car right into the bay. Finally, one of the cashiers went to check to see how much longer it would be and they were finished. When the cashier checked me out, he said my total was over $100 dollars!! I asked why since I was told $75-$80. The cashier went to ask a mechanic and sent the cashier as a messenger while another mechanic was behind the register eating. He said that my car needed 6 quarts of oil instead of 5, okay I can understand that, but he also said that I needed a new filter and that was included in the price. I don't know about their policies but everywhere I have ever gotten an oil change has replaced my filter which was included in the estimated price. Also, after getting my receipt I noticed that they charged me for windshield wiper fluid which I did not ask for. I called them to tell them that I didn't ask for this service and don't think I should be charged and the lady told me to come back and they would pump the fluid out and refund me. I would highly recommend staying away from this place, who knows what else they do to your car that isn't authorized when you are getting a repair just to make a couple of extra bucks.

We've had several car repairs done at Lake Shore Mobil. The first time I brought in my old rusted out clunker of a Suburban. This thing was duct taped together, but the starter was grinding and it had multiple other problems. Dennis was great, he fixed the starter quickly and at a fair price. He also looked over the vehicle and let us know it was probably time to put it down. We took his advice and purchased a newer car. He is the first person we took it to for new brakes and an oil change. Dennis and Lake Shore Mobil have fair prices, AND they are honest and hard working. They are prompt at calling with estimates, and when the vehicle is ready to pick up. Bonus points: We can ride our bikes up to the station because it's so close, and we only own one car!

Awful customer service. The workers and service guys are are rude and disrespectful to women. As a woman in Milwaukee, I highly suggest you take your car somewhere else to get service and general maintenance.
Thinking of getting your car serviced here - think again.

I have been driving for 25 years and haveyouen to many an auto to function.shop.
I've never dealt with worse customer service or poorer workmanship in that time frame.
One example would be that ain't had an alternator replaced and the vehicle shut down on me travelling 70mph. The "technician" had made a "small" connection error that drained the battery rather than allowed it to work.
Avoid this place at all costs, providing you want your vehicle to function.

I am disappointed to say that Lake Shore Mobil was an awful experience. Dennis, the shop owner had gotten good reviews on Google, so since I live in the neighborhood and needed to get my car checked out I stopped by for an inspection.
They were unable to get me in until the following week, which is not a big deal. The problem is they did their analysis of what they determined to be wrong with the vehicle, rusty rotors, and failed to offer an alternative to service besides brand new rotors. My cousin works in an auto shop and the proper response should've been we can clean the rust off the rotors and realign them if needed, either for not cost or minimal cost. Dennis chose to do neither and instead said, "we'd probably just mess it up anyways". I mean what type of repair shop says that, unless they felt it wasn't worth their time and energy.
The main reason this shop was a disappointment has to do with the fact that while the car was in their hands, they some how managed to create a huge dent in the trunk of my car. Worst yet they claimed they didn't do it and wouldn't fix it. I talked personally with Dennis and he denied it, I asked to see the surveillance tape of the small parking lot connected to the gas station they work out of and he refused, instead saying, "One of his guys would look at it and definitely give me a call back". While I never got that call and when I called him back he said, "No damage was seen on the tape".
Again, maybe all true (doubtful since I know my cars very well) either way anyone that visit's Lake Shore Mobil should be aware of the tight corners they cram your vehicle into and worse yet they park the cars on side streets, where any number of things can happen to them by cars/people passing by on the street.
Steer clear of this place they aren't worth it!

Oil changes take hours. I recently went there and asked them to just LOOK at my tire I thought was deflating, and they wouldn't walk the ten feet to my car. Lazy & extremely rude.
