Very professional shop / great customer service. Recently on a road trip to Northern California had an error with my air suspension on range rover. Land rover dealer wanted to book me in for five days later and said they would need for a full day. Dave had one of his guys clear the error code in 5 mins and I was on my way. Acknowledging that it was only 5 mins of work with the OBD computer he refused to charge me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I have been using this auto repair service since the late 1990's. They are fantastic in their diagnostic work and servicing or vehicles. They are extremely professional in their work and personal interactions. I am never left wondering if I have done the right thing. There is no such thing as oversell to get a higher repair bill.

What a great shop.
Excellent service and very knowledgeable people.
I had a known problem with my BMW and expected a fairly major repair. There are two sensors inside the engine that get clogged and have to be extracted and cleaned or replaced.
Dave recommended a BMW certified engine flush that cleans the sensors along with other areas inside the engine. (you should have seen the gunk that poured out the oil drain)
Anyway, I got the problem solved, a much cleaner engine, and an oil change for well UNDER $200.00....on a BMW!
I also received a complimentary roadside assistance package and a full inspection report on my car (with pictures) by e-mail.
You will never get this kind of personal service at a dealership.

Dave Hernandez and the team at LGA have been taking care of my TAs for some time - and have always done 1) a great job 2) offered me options (rebuilt vs new, OEM vs aftermarket) 3) have never tried to sell me a service that I thought was oversell.
On my most recent visit, Dave took my 2000 TA with 150K miles and got it back to me running like a top (it needed a catalytic converter and a number of other things.)
And although the amount of work that definitely needed doing was not cheap - LGA definitely did a great job at a very reasonable price.

As usual, 5 star service from top to bottom! Been taking our cars here for many, many years and when my Mom's mechanic unexpectedly retired I did not hesitate to recommend LGA to her. They took care of the window issue in a day and gave us a full work up what other work the car might need in the coming months.

I love LGAS! I have been coming here for over a year now and always have a positive experience. John, Dave and Jeff are always helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond. They always try to save me $$ when they can. If they see something additional needs to be done but not immediately they tell you. They never push you to get things done so you spend more money. Today I took my car in to get the tires checked because all 4 of my tire sensors went off. They started on my car the second I arrived and besides checking my tires they also noticed another sensor was on for an exterior lights. They replaced my license plate lights without me saying anything! They didn't charge me anything for filling my tires or replacing those lights! It made my Friday! I recommend this business if you want an honest and friendly place to take your car for repairs.

As someone that knows nothing about cars they really do not take advantage of me. Instead the take the time out to educate me. I took my Honda CRV back into LGAS recently for a brake job, and as always, they did the work in a timely manner and I was able to pick up my car that same afternoon.
They also gave me a free diagnostic check on my engine since they had done major work (complete valve job) on my vehicle earlier in the year. They even e-mailed the results to me directly afterwards which was awesome!! Los Gatos Auto Service is A1 in my book! Dave & his crew are always honest and not just out to get your money like a lot of other shops, and his crew is THE best at what they do. No need to look around for another shop because LGAS will take care of all your vehicle needs!

I've been taking my cars here for 10 years now. Not the usual problems like a dead battery or an oil change. My problems were severe like a destroyed transmission or a phantom electrical drain. They gave me a quote for each task and met that quote. With the phantom drain, they worked on it until it was fixed and verified. They didn't up charge me either. Seriously, they take pride in their work. 5 stars all the way.

Not only do these guys know how to treat their customers, they fix your vehicles as well! We have been coming to LGA for about 5 years now. I would describe them as honest, timely and knowledgable. They provide pictures of your vehicle problems so you can understand what is being done. They give you the option of online appointments. The owner is on site and friendly as well as friendly mechanics. Great place, we will not go anywhere else ever again. Prices are decent too.

Although I had a rough start with these guys dealing with my smog issues on my BMW, Dave (the owner) came through with flying colors to make things right. He was A*W*E*S*O*M*E and I appreciated him bending over backwards to make me completely happy. While they had my car for the day, he let me take his car to use so I didn't have to rent a car. How many people do something like that? I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. In fact, they have now made a long-time customer in me. I had to drop a few lines after being so well taken care of by the team at Los Gatos Auto. I needed to get my brakes done before a family trip and I was in a pinch. Jeff was my first contact and he was awesome. He made sure I was in constant contact with the shop via e-mail and phone conversations. John personally took care of my car and did a bang up job. It is so hard to find a reliable mechanic these days and I was so happy to have found these guys! Transmission issues are never fun but these guys made it a smooth process and kept me informed.
I got to work directly with the owner. He is a genuine, honest person who takes pride in his work and truly wants to help resolve whatever car problem you may have. I never once felt like he was trying to take advantage. His team is so nice and have the same work ethic.

Possibly the best car mechanic I have ever had.
When I was first referred to them, I bought my car into the shop twice before I let them really work on it - for a once over and a minor battery fix - I was not charged either time. The third time, when I brought the car in for a proper service (oil change, fluids), I dropped the car off and an hour or so later they called to check in with me prior to doing any service. At the end of the day, they had the car ready on time, and all work costs came in as quoted (in one case under what he quoted), just as promised.
Other shops should take lessons from Dave and John - they know how to run an honest and professional shop.
Trustworthy and extremely accommodating, they treat you like family - super straight forward. Even if you have a mechanic you're currently satisfied with, I'd suggest you give them a try - you won't be disappointed. OUTSTANDING SERVICE!

This place is super knowledgeable and very efficient.
I had asked for help pushing a bearing and they recommended inspecting the axle and hub. Without their assistance I would have not completed my auto repair job adequately.
They are also very fast and accommodating. I called the shop while I was en route and they were able to take care of all my needs last minute.
These guys saved my day!!! I highly recommend them to anyone!

Our family has been going here for over a decade, since we met Dave, the owner, at a neighbor's. Turns out a lot of our neighbors use LG Auto also. Been meaning to write this review for years!
We get a true assessment from Dave and staff about needed services and all our questions are thoroughly answered. Never feel rushed and they often work us in for last-minute trip safety checks. John and Dave give a high value to customer service. We always feel listened to and receive good explanations if we want them. I have a '99 pick-up I love to take camping every year and Jon and Dave really help make that possible. About 4 years ago my truck over heated up north and I had it inspected by a Chevy dealership. They told me I needed to replace my manifold covers and the job would be about $3000, discouraged I had It towed back to the house and then found Los Gatos Auto through a recommendation. They did several tests and found nothing wrong and said it was a good thing I didn't get any work done at the dealership. Wow really honest people. Jon and Dave really look after you so you can be on the road safe. Every year they go over the truck and inspect it so it's camping ready.

Every time I bring my car in, the entire crew figures out exactly what's wrong and they make my car drive smoothly once again. Dave and John are not only great at what they do, they have amazing customer service skills. Even in an emergency, these guys come through with an honest diagnosis and a thorough fix, plus complete notes on the work they've done written out on the receipt so you have complete records for your car. I would never take my car anywhere else.

I started going to Los Gatos Auto Service about 10 years and 4 cars ago. Dave and John have always been helpful and accomodating whenever I had an issue, (big or small) with one of my cars. This is the one place that I can go to and TRUST the opinion and advice of the services needed for my car. That's a BIG deal these days, since everyone is trying to upsell when you have service done on your car. They treat you right so you WANT TO keep coming back, they will always have me as a customer and I encourage anyone to give them a try, I've told all my friends and coworkers that Los Gatos Auto Service is the best service around!!!

These guys are honest, upfront and trustworthy. Not only that, but they take care of their customers. They could have charged me much more labor for tracking down what the problem was with my car, but they chose to only bill me for 2 hours, including the time it was going to take to finally fix the problem. They also let me know of several other problems not related to the reason I took my car in. Yes, we all know how repairmen find all sorts of other problems that need to be taken care of... The one they pointed out were issues that I already knew about and they did not try in any way to coerce me into getting anything I didn't need. I will be taking my vehicles back to them as long as I have vehicles. These guys are top notch. ...they even saved my lost paperwork... Thank you Dave and John.

i was planning to buy a used BMW 328i convertible from a dealer and people suggested me to do a purchase inspection. so I called an hour before i went, when i got there, John said they can check it right away. and in less than 20 mins, Dave came to the waiting room and said" there is an accident"!! the dealer and me are all shocked because the record are so clean in "carfax" and maintenance receipt. Dave showed me the paint job they did because of the accident and why the convertible top is not lined up correctly. i was so happy they found out in such a short time, they are awesome!!

I've been going to these guys for years for Hondas, Volkswagens and Volvos. They do a good job the first time, and I feel they're as honest as they come. I've gone in with engine trouble that I thought would be hundreds of dollars. They could have told me half a dozen things that I would have believed, and I expected hundreds of dollars in bills. Instead, they said, "Looks like one of your spark plug cables was worn. We put in new ones. You're good to go." I think the bill came to less than fifty bucks for the diagnosis, the part, and the installation. That was years ago and I hadn't been a customer that long. I've been going ever since.
