Great service with a great conversation

After returning to Camarillo from a move up north I went to what I thought was where Jiffy Lube used to be. After being offered a free coffee, I had a wonderful conversation with Stacy (the owner) and she explained to me the extra things I needed for my car. They showed me the difference between a new air filter and what mine looked like. Yuck, I chose to get that. I opted out of getting new wiper blades at this time but will get them next oil change when I go back to the lube shop. I really felt like a family member while my car was worked on (which was quite fast)

A dying breed

This is not your typical oil change place. While that is what they primarily do, they go through a thorough check of the car, all the fluids, check the suspension components, the battery, the lights, the belts the hoses, and everything else that can be inspected. And they vacuum the inside and wash the windows. I never feel that are trying to push a service I don't need. In fact, on many occasions, when my dealer was telling me I was in dire need to get something fixed, and I have taken it to the Lube shop to have it done, I was informed that I still had plenty of life left on that particular component. While waiting to get my car serviced, I got to meet other customers that own some pretty expensive classic muscle cars. (Olds 442, Impala, Corvette, Jag XKE, etc) If they trust the Lube Shop to service their fancy machinery, I can trust them to take good care of my daily driver.

Every time I take my car to The Lube Shop, they take excellent car of my car. They vacuum the inside of my car, and check all the fluids, and clean my windshield. Everything is explained to me, and their prices are fair. Now all my family and friends go to The Lube Shop.

THEY WILL MESSE-UP YOUR CAR

DO NOT TAKE YOUR TOYOTA PRIUS TO THEM I TOOK MY PRIUS TO THEM THEY FILLED IT UP WITH TO MUCH OIL AND COST ME $800.00. WHEN I ASKED FOR MY DAMAGES THAT WAS 100% DONE BY THEM ,THEY REFUESED IT. VERY POOR SERVICE.I WILL REPORT THEM TO BBB SO NO ONE WILL END UP LIKE I DID. THEY SHOULD GET ZERO STAR.

Located in Camarillo in Souther California, this little shop does a quick job of getting your car back on its wheels but unfortunately it is a bit pricey, if you want a legitimate service done in a hurry and are not worried too much about pricing, this is the place to go.

I just made a cross country road trip on my way to AK from FL, swung through for an oil change only and ended up with a clean car, topped off fluids, vehicle inspection, new air filter and an oil change... $40. The guys there were great, friendly, and speedy. I highly recommend.

The owners of the Lube Shop, Dan and Stacy, have an excellent business model: Honesty, Competency and Thoroughness. So far I have been there only twice, but in talking to other long-time clients in the waiting area, the feeling is mutual. I don't hesitate to recommend the Lube Shop to friends and family. Their thoroughness is bordering on anal (in a good way!) Burned out light bulb on your license plate? They will let you know. For example, I worried about the condition of my coolant in my F250. They tested it for free with a special litmus paper and said it was still acceptable but noted in their customer database to check it at the truck's next visit. The bottom line: You'll roll off their lot feeling satisfied and have a sense of security that your vehicle had a careful going over!

The Lube Shop in Camarillo, CA, on Arneill Road was super accommodating, friendly, offered indoor or outdoor seating, had plenty of water/coffee, and lots of smiles from the staff. I usually change my own oil, but the garage/driveway of my home has been under construction. I am very particular about who works on my Ford F150, and after researching and seeing some of the great reviews from other Lube Stop customers, I believed that this would be enough to give them a try. I brought my own synthetic oil and preferred Fram oil filter, and watched them like a hawk. Lube Shop was very accommodating and informative with everything they worked on. They didn't try to sell me anything that I did not need (and I know my truck well), which was unlike other shops I have used in the past. You are in for a great, swift and detailed service with this team and I will be back, even after my garage/driveway construction is complete. Thank you Lube Shop.

Dan is honest and fair about all the work done in his shop! I will continue to go here anytime my boyfriend or I have trouble!
He really helped my boyfriend out the other night. On a Friday just about closing time. He was kind enough to let us have the car towed there, and put it in one of the bays overnight! His crew is courteous and friendly too! Thank you again soooo much!

Great place for a quick oil change. They were very helpful and courteous. No trying to sell you the extras. They asked me what I wanted and suggested if something may or may not need changing. They took the time to actually vacuum the car out very well and even clean all our windows.

My wife and her mom have been going to this place for years and I recently got introduced to it as well. Definitely the best place I've been for oil changes. They refill fluids between oil changes, clean your Windows, and vacuum your car, all included with the oil changes. They also don't try to up sale everything which has happened at every other place Ive been to.

Perfect, that is what each experience has been. I drive up, ask for a oil change, they check out my car and let me know if they see anything I should be concerned of. They serve good coffee, are pleasant, fast and reasonable. They do not try and sell me things I don't need. It's like taking your car to a family friend.

Easy access location. Pulled right up to the bay and was greeted and ask to step inside to enter my information. Service staff opened the door for me and offered me coffee. They vacuumed out the car and asked about changing air filters. I declined without a fight. Good sign. Overall a pretty good service. Would like for a just a little more communication about what they were doing with the vehicle.

Yes, as others have said, the price is on the higher end for oil changes. However, I left feeling that I paid a fair price for the friendly service, professionalism, and all the extras they include.

Usually try and change my oil myself but when I moved to a condo nearby that fines you if you perform maintenance on your car in your garage I was forced to find someone to perform this for me. Yelp is not wrong with the Lube Shop!! Customer Service is is by far the BEST I have received anywhere. They do not try and upwell annoying products and services that you don't need like every other auto/lube place in Camarillo. They are upfront and totally honest about everything and my wife and I have been coming here every since.
There is a reason that they are busy on sat morning, if you don't have the time drop by during the week, I can usually get in and out in 30 min on a weekday.
Stacey (i believe thats her name) is usually running the desk while her husband keeps the shop going. Stacey is absolutely amazing and is the reason they have such high customer service. I have had Dan help out when she was gone and he is great also. He is usually running the shop and the desk if she is not there so do not confuse this with bad customer service. He's a busy guy but will stop to explain anything that is asked of him.
Great place to get your simple car services done. I won't go anywhere else now.

We have used this store all the time, before it was Jiffy Lube and the best couple owned it.
Yesterday I brought my husbands rav 4 98 in for a oil change, they were very busy and not very nice at the front desk, I would assume the women is not there anymore and just her husband is running the whole shop.
They informed us that we needed belts and other gasets for our Rav 4 he gave me a card Bergins went over there, and was rudly meet, ended up at
BRAKE MASTERS and he fixed the whole thing.
This was a safely issue and my husband drives from Oxnard to Camarillo and gets home around 10:00 P.M. and I am in L.a. all week. So we were so glad that this was fixed and I feel safe, I plan on NOT returning to this place and I will give my money to Brake Master, he takes the time to fix the issue and gets it done, maybe you have to wait, but it is worth it!
They have increased there prices in the oil change!

My husband turned me on to this place. Before this, i would sit my butt in the Chevron drive-thru oil change enduring annoying upsell pitches the entire time (i dont know how many times I fell for the add-ons :-/ ). I havent regretted the change. There arent any upsell pitches, just a quick rundown of your car's status and some FYI notes. They dont promise or offer to do anything they do not specialize in but are happy to offer a recommendation/referral if you ask. They are good and quick, which is likely why they are so often busy. I got there at 8:10am (they open at 8am) and they already had a full house with 2 already waiting on the side. They are definitely worth it. And, they value their return customers with an RCD (Return Customer Discount). And, on top of that!!! They clean the windows AND vacuum the floors!
Ok, back to eating my breakfast at Denny's before my walk back as I wait :-)

I have been getting my oil changes here for almost 2 years now. I have become a loyal customer because of the caring manner in which they treat me, my wife and our 2007 Hyundai and 2003 Camry. You will find the Lube Shop to be a little pricier than most other oil change places in town. They will occasionally recommend additional services. However, they are not "in your face pushy", like many oil change chains that pay their workers commissions on up selling." The Lube Shop's excellent customer service and work is consistent and welcomed. I recommend you try them and experience the difference yourself.

Dan and his crew are tops! They take care of my wifes car and treat her w respect and courtesy. They have her on a schedule that includes all parts of her car. Because of that, we have been able to avoid any unexpected failures so far. Prices are very competitive and service is tops.

The Lube Shop is the only place I'd trust to change my motor oil. I've read too many articles about those national brand oil change places "forgetting" to add oil or tighten the oil drain plug. I'd never go to one of those places so what's the alternative; thankfully, the Lube Shop.
It's a family owned service shop where the owner(s) is right there to provide knowledgeable advice. Stacy is wonderful, she knows more about cars than most people but more importantly she knows her products and how they will perform.
On my first visit, I brought my own oil. I know it's kind of silly but I did the research and that's what I wanted. It turns out they already had it in stock as well as the performance filter, which they had in stock( I couldn't find this particulars filter at 3 of the parts stores I visited). I've been coming back ever since.
The best thing about the "Lube Shop" is how quick the staff works. I don't think I've ever had a service take more than 30 mins. Of course, I've only had my oil changed. They provide other fluid replacement services I haven't had to have those fluids changed yet. However, when the time comes this is the place that will have my business.
The majority of their stock product is the "Mobile One" brand, which is okay with me since it's my favorite(and according to my research the best).
The prices are comparable to the national, supposedly, "quick" oil change places. For me it's not about the money, it's the peace of my mind knowing my car was serviced correctly and quickly.

Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. I will be going here for all other oil changes from now on. I didn't feel taken advantage of or like I was being pressured to pay for/get things that I didn't need. They were straight forward, honest, friendly and super helpfull. Add that to the fact that it is a small family own business and not some chain and I am sold for life as a loyal customer.

This place has the best service ever! I went to dans shop earlier in the day to get a full service, so I later decided to take a trip to Santa Barbara with my gf, half way there my car broke down... We called his shop to tell him what happened, and right away he said I will come to you to see what the problem is! What?! Upon arrival he told us what was wrong and said he would wait with us until the tow truck came. Instead of having us take the tow truck home he offered to give us a ride home! If this isn't someone who stands behind there business then i don't know what is!! We will definitely be going back there to get our cars serviced! Thanks Dan!

I see this isn't going to be news, but these guys did a good job on the 3 visits I've made over the past 6-8 months. I like the little extras they do, and I never felt pressured or that anyone was pushing something on me...one reason I hated to get oil changed before, anticipating how they'd say I needed things that I really didn't need, and couldn't afford anyway. None of that nonsense - I even trusted their coffee.

The Lube Shop is by far the best, and only place I would ever take my cars for oil changes. Stacy is very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and offers first rate service at very decent prices.
I brought my own engine and cabin air filters and headlight, and they replaced them all for just a few bucks each! It would have taken me several hours to do it myself.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Great service, good prices, friendly (and HONEST) people, I hope they don't change a thing.

I went here a few days ago for an oil change. zach was who helped me. he was rude and looked like he hated his job. I had questions that were not answered because either he didn't care or didn't know the answer to them. and on top of his rude attitude, he took almost 2 hours for my car to be done. I have never been to this establishment and because of him, ill never be back. and neither will anyone I know if I can help it. if he doesn't like his job, he shouldn't be working there.. period. there are plenty of people without jobs that would love to work at a place like this. he should just be happy he has a job and treat customers with respect. he does not help your business one bit.

I have been going here for at least 5 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Even thought I live half an hour away now, I still go to the Lube Shop because I know that I can trust them. Just recently, I got a quite from my mechanic for some transmission issues that he was going to charge me over $1500. I took the paper and info into the Lube Shop and they checked it out for free. I only needed one of the items done that costs about $100 and it's not even urgent. I am so thankful for their honesty and I recommend everyone I know to go to them.

Since it was not busy, one of the people came out of the bay to greet me and they had my records pulled up by the time I took the few steps to the office. Besides the oil, filter, and general inspections, they topped off my tires, vacuumed the interior, and washed the windscreen. Definitely going back.

I am a woman and my dad always taught me to have a healthy amount of skepticism about car places because they usually aren't honest. First off, it is very hard to find reviews for auto establishments(lube, maintenance, brake, etc.) I believe people should really start reviewing the places they take there vehicles to here, to help each other out to get the most honest services & prevent rip offs that I hear to often but never documented. Heck, review auto parts stores while your at it. Now the long ass review.
I noticed this great establishment did not have a review & I certainly believe it deserves one.
I have long since taken my cars to lube shops (economy has forced me to do my own car maintenance), but when I did in the past, I heard from a co-worker, a little mom & pop lube shop by my work simply called the lube shop. So this shop is in the middle of Camarillo easy to find, across the way from the .99 cents store and is a small little shop that can service 6 cars at a time(I think this used to be an old jiffy lube). I took my girls 2009 Camry(pre-wreck) for its first oil change, we were first greeted by this really nice lady as I finished parking my car(now that's service) & asked us what we were in for, then proceeded to tell us the services they provide. We got in & although it was packed(always is when I pass by, almost all repeat customers), we were taken care off very quickly. First timers get there info put into the system. As she was putting up my info, we struck up a conversation & I found out that her & her husband(mechanic that actually works there/super nice guy) actually owned the L/S(how awesome & rare is that!?) They were both very knowledgeable when I had a few questions about the oils they had & the other services they had besides oil changes,they have a lot more services than just oil changes. The shop itself is pretty small, clean, efficient & well orchestrated. It was just plain comfortable knowing our car was being taken care of by people that actually appreciated our business and just simply gave a damn, you rarely get that these days.
Though it was packed like I said, service only took 40 min. tops, witch was right under what she quoted us at 45 min. You would think this type of service is more expensive than the big boys(JIFFY,etc..) but I did my research b4 I came, & found out, there service prices are very competitive if not cheaper. For example for the same services, their basic lube job was the same $ as J/L, for the SAME EXACT THING! I did go beyond that & got full synthetic as my oil & they were considerably cheaper that J/L. They used MOBIL 1 oil & filter witch is made for synthetic oil(hella more expensive), other lube shops would have probably just put the cheapest one they had to save money. They also will top off all fluids, I don't exactly know how long, but I am pretty sure till your next oil change.
Granted I could have gone to Jiffy lube or any other lube shop w/ the big name you here in commercials, and got the same exact lube service w/ all the bells & whistles. But no matter how hard they try, the big names can never give you what the L/S can, personal mom/pop feel, respect, & comfort that they are correctly servicing you auto.
One last thing I HAVE to add. I had a problem while doing my own oil change(drain plug gasket..haven't done it in a while) so I called them 5 min. before closing & desperate as hell for a correct answer since I called a lot of so called "auto parts store" that had no idea what they were talking about, and the nice lady put her husband on the phone & instructed me on how to fix my problem, took about 7 min. It even went as far as they had me come in the next day, to make sure I did everything right :-) They didn't know who I was at the time, nor did I mention to them that I had been a previous customer of theirs, but yet they cared enough to stay past closing to help a stranger on the phone out, then checked my work, all for free, I don't know what you call that, I call it class.

They were training an up an coming mechanic on my new car once (which normally would make me nervous) but they were training him soooooo well and so detailed that I felt like i was getting extra service! I've taken my car to Stacy and her team for years. They are efficient, professional, and do great work. You can absolutely trust them to tell it like it is - they don't try to upsell you on items you don't need. Stacy has recommended other local providers when I've needed brakes or alignment work done, and I've been pleased with those referrals as well. It's a nice feeling to support a local business that has roots in this community and feel as though you're getting more than your money's worth. I highly recommend them!

Stacy and her staff are very friendly and helpful. They are quick and greet you right at your car when you drive up. Their prices are reasonable...actually about half as much as this other shop in camarillo quoted me for the same transmission flush and cooling system flush. When I came back about a month later after noticing a leak on my garage floor, they identified the leak (which was not related to anything they worked on), and recommended a good shop that could help with repairing my transmission. They charged nothing to diagnose the problem, and even topped off my transmission fluid. Top notch!!!
