Car was running rough with no check engine light. Took car to dealer who said it was 'an electrical problem'. Of course they could not give me any idea of how much it would cost. Ended up going to M&N, Miguel found a loose camshaft sensor, tightened it and I was on my way. No charge! Great place. I know where to go for my next service.

Might as well pile on another 5-star review for these guys. Just picked up my car after a very invasive A/C repair. Although it took longer and more labor than they expected, they kept me up to date on their progress, and only charged me for the previously agreed on labor cost.
In addition, they washed my car and detailed the inside!!! Granted, the repair involved dismantling the dashboard so it was probably a mess in there, but they cleaned and armored my cup holders and console area, which was not required, but certainly appreciated.
In addition, the A/C works, finally, after so many other mechanics said it would be "too much work" to fix. Another bonus: if you work or live close, they can offer you a ride to your home or work after you drop your car off.
The guys that work here are always friendly, have a smile on, and are happy to answer questions. These are truly the first mechanics I've trusted fully in Los Angeles. Special shout-out to Neff at the front desk, who was awesome and guided me through everything.

I found my new mechanics! I just moved to the Play Del Rey area last year and my family's trustworthy mechanic passed away so I was on a search. I contacted multiple vendors around but ultimately chose to try these guys out based on the Free Check Engine and reviews.
Interacted with Neff, the front end manager dealing with the paperwork, and Eric, who dropped me off and picked me up from work (at LAX!)! Complimentary service so that was amazing.
My check engine light had went off for a few weeks, and my hood was smoky, so I was fearing the worst. I was ready to cry in the corner thinking of worst possible scenario, but after a few hours, Neff called me to let me know that whoever did my oil change last (F you Firestone!), they installed it improperly and it was alllll over my hood and equipment which caused my computer to set off a bunch of trouble calls.
And that was it - they just changed my oil - super affordable for my Mercedes C230.
I will definitly be returning to these guys, who seem very genuine and informative. They work with your schedule and where you live/work. Thank you guys, the car is running the best its ever been. I'll see you again (and your cute dog!)

I met Miguel and Nef about 3 1/2 years ago..These two guys are just amazing. They go out of their way to make sure your car is well taken care of. They have picked up my car, dropped off my car, given me a ride after leaving my car there..and the prices are decent. Miguel is down to earth and just an honest, hard-working man. M&N Automotive is a fair and honest place to take your vehicle if you want to know the real!
Edgar was so awesome ! (The dog was so sweet, super friendly) I brought in my car and he basically gave me the complete run down of what i need to get in tip top shape. Its hard to find an honest mechanic who is not trying to you through the ringer with unnecessary bs . If you need a mechanic in the culver city area, there right off the 405 and jefferson , i highly recommend M&N Automotive.

Believe the reviews/rating: This place is a rare gem among auto repair shops. I tried them out for an oil change and tire rotation on my Hyundai Elantra because they were close to my work. Right away, they were extremely friendly and didn't give off the common "sketchy" vibe some auto shops have. Car was ready an hour later and they surprised me by not charging extra for synthetic oil. And they gave me the tire rotation for free! I would have paid double just for the smiles and calm demeanor of the employee I dealt with. What a welcome change from the normal oil-change experience.

Got here early in the morning and they were able to exam my car free of charge and they saw me right as i drove my car in. I was very pleased with the customer service. I would definitely come back again if i needed any maintenance with my car. I originally went in becuase i was concered with an eletrical issue to my headlights since it was blinking on and off. They answered all my questions. Over all i was very pleased with there service. I had no issues with the car but the only issue was the bulbs i had which i figured but i just wanted a professional opinion overall. I would be happy to come back again if any other problems with my car occur in the future. They seem very trustworth. Not the type of mechanics who try to rob you for your money. I would highly recommend to anybody!!!

I love this place. I don't know about anyone else but I get real nervous when something is wrong with my vehicle. Mainly because I don't have extra money sitting around for repairs.
Aamco walked me through my situation, being totally honest. I like the fact that they didn't take advantage of me because I'm a woman. I had to leave my car so they took me to work. Very friendly staff.
David, was so personable, and professional. I would recommend this Aamco to all. They got the job done.

I've lived around here for years and never noticed this little place. You have to enter from the alleyway in the back, so it's a little tricky. But wow, I'm sold! My check engine came on in my 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK350. Miguel checked the light, determined that it wasn't a big deal, turned it off and said to come back if it turns back on. No charge! I had them replace the windshield washer pump, for which I already had the part. They charged me just $40 to replace it. In and out in a jiffy. You can't get out of most places for under $100! This is now my go-to shop, hands down! Highly recommend.

Had an overheating issue with a 2001 BMW 7 series. Dropped it off to get checked out and was advised they wouldn't be able to check it out until the morning. The nice folks at M&N offered me a ride back to work. Received a phone call a couple hours later with details regarding the issue with my vehicle AND they even told me about things I wasn't aware of like the brakes being worn out etc. Very clear and direct and the timeline they provided me for completion was accurate. Quality work seeing as how the vehicle is running just fine, now. Definitely would go back here if/when I need vehicle maintenance. Check it out for yourself.

Miguel & Carlos are amazing. Seriously, I don't write reviews often but when I receive GREAT service at a price that beat other providers, I'm willing to share my experience. I used
this morning to research auto mechanic shops specializing in Audi & Imports in my area. Called 3-4 places and M&N promptly called back w/in 10-15 min w/ quotes for replacing Front/Rear Brake Pads with and without getting the rotors replaced too. I knew it was a lot to ask for same day service but they were very accommodating. I'm sitting here as I write, repair almost competed in less than 3hrs and I got some work done while waiting. They're willing to drop you off w/in reasonable distance but it was quiet and easy to work on my laptop.
They assured me they use Audi original parts and I'd be out of here in no time. Thanks guys for making this a very pain free experience on a Friday afternoon no less!

Last year this time around, my coolant burst and leaked all over the parking lot of a winery up in Cupertino. An absolutely gorgeous view...that I could feel NOTHING for, because how the hell was I going to get my car towed back to Menlo Park from here.
Well, I did, and ended up spending between $1600 and $2500 on repairs. Thankfully I had two jobs at the time and could actually afford it, but there went my entire emergency fund. It's what it's there for, right? When I took the car in to get an oil change, the mechanic remarked on how it looked like my engine was practically brand new for such an old car - yeah, thanks for the reminder.
You can imagine my surprise, then, when pulling out of a parking lot the other evening, my coolant light went off...
I took it in to M&N because - first truth - they're close to work. Second truth - because they're 5 stars after so many reviews.
They did a pressure test, and all it had been was a hose or two that needed tightening. No charge. The feeling of relief they provided is incalculable to me - all I could think of was a giant tab $$$$, one I thought I had paid already. Scenarios of getting back into debt (any debt) to get another car, even just a beater (yeah I don't have an emergency fund anymore. Yay having been unemployed for a year!), were creeping up into my brain.
Also, they have a dog here that just LOVES to be petted. And that makes everything all the better. Here's my tip to them - a well deserved five star review. If I need any more repairs, they've made a new customer.

I rarely stray from food-related reviews, but I felt an overwhelming desire to write one for M&N Automotive, thanks to the great service they have continued to provide me over the past few years.
After moving to LA 2 years ago, I had no idea where to bring my car for maintenance. I didn't know anyone in the area yet, so I couldn't rely on word-of-mouth from friends. I Yelped places near my office, and M&N came up with positive reviews. I always have concerns when trying a new mechanic, but on first bringing in my car, my initial impressions were positive, and my experiences with them since have proved that they are completely deserving of the high praise that originally led me here. In short, they are affordable, efficient, and reliable.
The garage is managed by top mechanic Miguel, whose many accomplishments proudly adorn the wall and attest to his skill and experience. However, Neff is the person you will probably be speaking with directly. Neff is extremely personable, trustworthy, and knowledgeable, often providing me with advice for maintaining my car. Whenever I've called in to make an appointment, he always finds time to accommodate me, even when they're busy, and they've always finished work in the time they said they would. (Sure, there was that one time when they forgot I had made an appointment, but Neff ended up pulling my car up and changing the oil himself, getting me in and out in 20 minutes.)
Because my knowledge about cars is so limited, trust is always my biggest concern when looking for a new mechanic. However, I must say I feel very comfortable speaking with the people here and letting them work on my car.
Up until now, I've only had to come in for oil changes--but the reliable and affordable service they've provided me thus far would make them my first choice if I needed to get repairs done.
Note about their Location:
The only thing that used to concern me when coming was their location. They used to have a small office and garage right in the center of the back alley off of Jefferson, and it was always nerve-wrecking to try and maneuver my car around the narrow street. However, as of April of this year, I'm happy to report that they have moved a few suites down into a more spacious location. They are still accessed from the back alley, but they are now toward the end of the alley on the Centinela side, meaning if you enter from that end, you don't have to go through the alley. I recommend NOT entering the alley from the Mesmer Ave side, unless you want to encounter situations like that shown in the my photo (see Budget truck).
And if you've got an hour-or-so to kill, take a walk over to Big Mango Caf. It's the best restaurant in walking distance.

The engine of my BMW 328i was shaking, so I brought it in to M&N because they have great reviews on here and they claim to specialize in BMWs. They said the sparkplugs needed to be replaced because oil had leaked on them. They said I had a broken oil valve cover that needed to be replaced, which they did. But after their work, my car started leaking oil. It got progressively worse over the next couple weeks. Mind you, my car had never leaked oil before. Not able to trust M&N anymore, I took it to Rafi Autotech to see what had happened. Rafi showed me and explained to me how M&N had installed the oil valve cover incorrectly, resulting in a severe oil leak. Fortunately, the manager at M&N, Miguel, was honest enough to fess up to their mistake and he covered the entire bill at Rafi Autotech without any hassle. Which is the only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1. But from now on, I'm going to Rafi Autotech, where they are actually certified BMW trained.

I am so happy I found A&M Automotive. Neff is knowledgeable and honest.
I came in for an oil change and found out I have another 8,000 miles to go. However, my car did need the brake and AC fluids flushed. Neff made sure everything checked out an only recommended the services I needed. If I went to the BMW stealership I'm sure they would have done the oil change anyway on top of the other items costing me a couple hundred more.

I told the guy my "service due" light came up on my Audi and he just asked me questions that I don't know and talked to me like a child. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this gem!! From the welcoming and considerate service to the quality of the work done, I am more than completely satisfied with my experience with M&N Automotive.
Professional and efficient. They quickly took my car and helped to trouble shoot my brake problems, checking and double checking, in the time it takes for most places to process the paperwork.
Good, inexpensive, fast - In my experience you have never have all three. If you get something fast and cheap, its never going to be good. etc... M&N Automotive may just be the exception to the rule. Another satisfied customer! Thank you Miguel for diagnosing my car when all I came in with was a mechanical sound I tried to imitate for you . . .
My brakes and rotors needed replacing, which they did, and they did not "find" something else with my car they could repair for me. There was no up-sale. In fact, when he mentioned my front tires were awful, I requested that he fix them that day and was happy that he didn't push this on me.
In addition, Miguel offered to give me a ride - via Eric - to a nearby appointment and then picked me up from the appointment! Neff was honest and fair in the overall pricing of the service. I felt taken care of!

Thought I had a good experience here initially after bringing my 328i 2012 BMW here for an oil change, but I was wrong. My BMW 50k mile warranty had just ended and the light for an oil change came on so I looked up this local shop and decided to give it a shot since they had good reviews. The guy at the shop reassured me that they know BMWs and he even owned one himself so he made me feel comfortable getting my car serviced there. The oil change took a few hours and I picked it up the same day which was great. Fast forward to today, I took my car to the BMW dealership for an oil change (since I had an email promotion for an oil change for $79.99) and they informed me that my car did not have an oil filter installed! This could have seriously damaged my engine. Please take caution when getting your car serviced here.

They fixed the random oil leak that is the reason for me finding they also conducted a million point check and found some other things that needed to be done. I have given M&N the benefit of the doubt for years with numerous mishaps but I cannot continue to ignore their sloppy service. Last year I spent over $12,000 dollars with them and still had car problems. Essentially they did not know how to work on a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 and instead of notifying me of this, they chose to "experiment" on my car costing me a lot of money and time.
After spending a ton of money with them last year, my car was still leaking fluid. They claimed it was transmission fluid and sent me to two different shops who told me that nothing was leaking from my transmission. Eventually my power steering hose burst and power steering fluid was everywhere. M&N replaced the hose and power steering unit and told me nothing else was wrong with my car.
Again, my car began leaking fluid, fed up I took my car to my old mechanic who told me oil was leaking from my valve cover gaskets even though M&N had replaced them the year prior. My former mechanic stated that if only they had simply inspected my engine for a few minutes they would have been able to spot the leak that was in plain sight.
To make a long story short and spare you a lot of details, M&N did not fully inspect my car during the service intervals, they did not know how to work on my car and did not fully disclose this, they misdiagnosed issues with my car numerous times and would tell me I need to visit a transmission shop or the dealership and I had to press them for a referral only to be told they misdiagnosed my vehicle.
I really needed $20,000 worth of work (suspension, steering, etc.) on my vehicle and instead of disclosing this, they would give me bits and pieces of what needed to be repaired so that I would not just trade it in as the amount of work needed outweighed the value of the vehicle and would continue to come to them for service!
I like Neff and Miguel as people but I question their integrity and that is not enough to keep my vehicle on the road free of mechanical problems. My vehicle was never leak free after consistently visiting M&N for almost a full year!
I SIMPLY CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND M&N.

The guys at M&N are extremely knowledgeable and they believe in great customer service, which comes across in every part of their business.
I first took our Mini Cooper down to South Bay Mini - and that place is a HORROR SHOW.
For routine repairs, they wanted to charge us 6300 dollars...
When I took it to Neff at M&N, I got all the same work done for 1100 dollars.
Never, ever go to South Bay Mini - those people are criminals. Go to these guys instead. You'll get great service, save money and above all you'll get peace of mind.

I'm a BMW car person who ONLY went to BMW dealership to touch my car (yeah well, pocket book has changed a little), so this is my honest perspective of this shop:
1) They deserve the 5+ stars they get all the way. Neff is super honest and willing to discuss range/estimate of charges over the phone and not play dodge ball so you can't figure out how they will charge you. I get that sometimes if they go under the hood and figure out other stuff that's wrong, but at least you can get a ballpark idea before going in. *Read my 'other' review about one of their competitors. By the way, gave Neff a chance to dog them out when I inquired about them, and he didn't. Shows his integrity to the trade in general.
2) Miguel, Neff and team overall are car-enthusiasts too and you can tell they know their cars, saw a lot of BMWs and Mercedes being worked on, so not just me.... Can tell other folks trust them too. I take excellent care of my car, and very particular about who will even be allowed to fix it. They have to pass my quality and integrity test - these guys are awesome.
3) I will be taking my car to these guys. Yes, they are causing my breaking up with my BMW dealership. I think it's time to part ways with the dealer after 85000 miles and no more free warranty.

I came to M&N mostly out of convenience after a gnarly poor driving incident left me with an undriveable, very damaged KIA Forte that I'm still making payments on. From the moment I called to see if they could fit me in for a quote that day, I knew they would be extremely helpful and professional. Neff answered my call and my questions promptly and honestly. He said they couldn't get my car looked at until later that afternoon but that was no problem as I was in no rush. M&N was the closest shop to me, and since I couldn't safely drive my car anywhere else, they became my chosen repair shop.
Ever since making the decision to roll into M&N, I've been extremely satisfied. Neff empathized with my situation, and readily was available to answer any questions about the process and make my experience with them as smooth as possible. I decided to go through my insurance, which elongated the process or they would have been ready to order parts and start work that same day. The quote they gave seemed reasonable for the amount of damage I had caused, and they were very flexible with my decisions on the work that was to be done. They were very patient with keeping my car in their lot while waiting for my insurance adjuster to come by and give their estimate, and even fought for extra work to be covered by the insurance company that wouldn't have been covered. Neff gave a serious discount on any work the insurance would not cover as well, which was such an awesome bonus. They went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right. It took a couple weeks from start to finish, but that was mostly due to my insurance taking a few days to estimate the work, which was the only delay. Once I came to pick up my car, it looked and felt just as before the accident.
Overall, M&N did an amazing job. The price was definitely right, they cared about me as a customer, kept me updated and in the loop and the work done was great. They even washed my car when they were done! Definitely recommend and will be coming back!

I recently moved to LA from NY, and drove my Jeep cross country to get here. After driving the 3000+ miles to get here, and the off-roading I did in the Grand Canyon; I needed several things checked out on my truck. Needless to say, I am very cautious of who I take my precious wrangler to as I have many aftermarket performance parts and armor plating on the car.
After searching on yelp for a good local mechanic, I stumbled upon M & N Automotive and devised to see if they were up to the stellar reviews I have seen. After speaking with Neff, I fel very confident leaving my car truck with them do the necessary repairs (brakes, rotors, various hose repair, sensor replacement, and tire alignment).
Neff and Miguel were beyond helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate my cars needs and are incredibly friendly and great on price. I have gone for advice on body work and various other stuff and these guys never disappoint. I can't believe I found such honest and helpful mechanics on my first try with a mechanic across the country. Their prices are great, their work is spot on, they are quick, and very accommodating. Neff even dropped me off and picked me up so I didn't have to use an Uber.
These guys are the best and I have been back many times and will continue to go back with any issues I have from continued off-roading.

I've come to Neff and Miguel at M&N for my mercedes several times. They always deliver my car's parts and fixes for half of what it would cost at the dealership.

I was having troubles with my radiator and was skeptical about finding a good place near my work. M&N Automotive really exceeded my expectations, I was thoroughly impressed. They went above and beyond my original ask, which is hard to find at an auto repair shop.
Overall, very reasonable prices and excellent customer service. When you go ask for Neff, he is a great guy that knows the ins and outs of any car. He will definitely take great care of you. Neff was awesome! I really appreciate how honest this place is. As a girl, it's always concerning that car shops will rip me off, but no worries here! They will give you the best deal possible.
The service is great. I was hungry and wanted breakfast, and they even offered to drive me to the neighborhood deli. They are very communicative and deliver what they promise. I really couldn't ask for more.
I highly recommend this shop. My husband and I will definitely continue to go here! :)

I have had my BMW X5 for almost 10 years now.
For the first 60k miles the only shop to touch my truck was the dealership.
From 60k to 120k the only shop to touch my truck was Benchmark Motors(east coast); I had such a great relationship with them that even after I moved to CA I would call my mechanic/co-owner for advise.
After three years of searching for a shop that is top notch, honest, and is phenomenal at providing ALL the possible options in LA, I can honestly say that I have found my mechanic from 130k-300K!
For the third time M&N has been the lowest quote from the top shops I have researched and yet somehow they managed to come in lower than the original estimate and exceed expectations.
I finally have a sense of peace while out there in the streets on LA.

Once again these guys came through for me, I first met them when I had a 2007 328i, I found them to be honest and do great work. I recently purchased a 1974 Ford F-250, being the only honest shop I know of around, asked if they wanted to take on a complete brake overhaul. This included a rear disk conversion, master cylinder, lines, booster ect. Even though this type of vehicle isn't what they normally work on, they took on the job and did great. Bottom line, if you need repair work done to your car, these guys won't rip you off and will do the job right. If they feel they can't do it, they will refer you to someone who can. I know literally nothing about cars, and my stepdad was able to find a lower price from a different shop after I agreed to doing work at M&N, and I really appreciated their understanding when I changed my mind. I found them to be not only very capable and honest, but also willing to go above and beyond in serving. In particular, Neff Avalos was a joy to work with. Originally I had taken my car to another popular mechanic in Culver City so it could be repaired in order to pass the smog test, but they were unable to diagnose the problem. Neff took my car, analyzed the problem and gave me a quote. But when they got to work on it, they needed to do more than they had expected. But he kept the price the same as that is what he had originally quoted me. I left feeling very taken care of. And my car passed the smog test with flying colors! I have recommended these guys to all my friends.

A 5 star rating for these guys is a bit of an understatement! Neff, Miguel and the entire M&N staff are nothing short of spectacular.
I'm always a bit hesitant when taking my car to a mechanic for any type of services, especially it being a foreign vehicle, but after finding these guys on yelp and reading the amazing reviews their clients had written I decided to give them a try. In all honesty, I wish I'd known about them sooner. Neff is great! He is extremely honest, knowledgeable and just an overall pleasure to do business with. Hopefully I won't need to take my car to them anytime soon, but if I do I'll be at ease knowing it is in good hands. I will DEFINITELY be referring any friends and family who need any type of car service to M&N.
The repairs were completed very quickly and the final price was lower than what Neff had originally quoted me and far less than other estimates I'd gotten from competitors.

I just got back from picking up my car and had to write a review immediately because M&N is seriously as good as it gets.
I had a part on my car that needed replacing, and I called 6 or 7 places on the Westside (All places I found on Yelp in my area with good reviews) for an estimate on how much it would cost. I also needed the work done quickly, as I was calling on a Monday but needed it done by Wednesday. It was a fairly simple repair so I expected not too much variation in terms of parts/labor, but just for the part itself not including labor prices I was quoted anywhere from 75 to 225. Once you factor in labor, the lowest price I got was 200+ and ranged to 300+.
At M&N they quoted me for 150 INCLUDING painting (which based on a google search, painting typically costs 50-100 dollars). I was a little worried at first because this seemed almost too good to be a true, and in the back of my mind I half expected them to increase the estimate once I got there.
They told me to stop by prior to ordering the part just so they could make sure to get the color correct, and at the time I also mentioned I needed oil change and tire rotation, which they also gave me a really good price on.
Long story short, upon picking up my car the price was exactly what they had quoted, the repair was done beautifully AND I got my oil change/tires rotated for much less than what I would have paid anywhere else just for the repair.
One of the biggest things I wanted to note however is not just the price, but the customer service they have. If you're searching through Yelp for auto repair like I did, you'll notice a lot of these other bigger shops have more reviews. While in general more reviews is a good thing, it also means that they go through a lot more cars. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you call any of these shops, they'll have a customer service rep pick up the phone, and if you have any questions they'll have to refer you to a mechanic and get back to you later.
Since M&N is a smaller shop, the mechanics handle the calls themselves, and right when I drove to the shop I was greeted by Neff, who personally made sure I was taken care of. On Monday he made sure he had the part in time to be painted by Tuesday. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday morning and he had the car ready by 11am that same day. He also didn't try to upsell me a bunch of other stuff I didn't need after the oil change which other places will do. I called several times and Neff was always easily accessible.
Lastly, it's not a large location, but they have one of the cleanest most organized shops I have ever seen. They mentioned they had moved recently, so in regards to the prior review about the messy shop that must have been their old location. I highly recommend this place.

If there ever was a time that I could give more then 5-stars, this would be it! When it comes to mechanics, I have to admit that I don't have the most positive view with them since I've been ripped off more times then I care to remember. I find it very hard to trust them but when I find one that I can, then I try and spread the word. And these guys are in my top-3 of best mechanics I have ever had! I can't tell you how great this shop is. From the overall customer service, to their professionalism, to their prices to their work, it's top notch. And the guy that you should ask for is Neff. He hooks you up and even gave me a ride home so I didn't need to call a cab or Uber! I definitely will be going to these guys for all my mechanical work and so should you!

I've come here twice now for different reasons and both times I'm given the raw facts about what my car needs and always given the lowest estimate out of any car repair shop around. Consistently good service at reasonable rates. Clean facility, easy to park, convenient location, speedy repairs, accessible hours, and decent rates. Miguel and Neff usually work on my car. They accommodated me for minor work on a Saturday morning, The work was done quickly and I was out of there in 1.5 hrs.
I had to change a belt, oil change, and they cleaned battery posts at no extra charge. There was a lot of green gunk on one battery post. They even offered me a ride home if there was major work to be done.
I really appreciated their hours on a wkend, and the professionalism. Highly recommend this facility. By the way, there is a cute dog on premises, looks like a German Shepherd mix with Shiba Inu, and he loves to catch ball! So bring a tennis ball for doggie and a treat.

I have taken my Audi to more than one mechanic and no one was able to fix the leaking problem till I brought it here these guys are the best and honest and they give reasonable prices. I have paid over $2,000.00 trying to fix the leaking problem and finally they were the only ones that were able to fix it for under $300.00. Nothing bad to say about them, the time they took to fix it or the price.

Excellent service! I called on a monday and wanted to know the price for an oil change and how long it would take. I was given both pieces of information without hesitation and unfortunately they were booked. Come Tuesday, I drop off my car and an hour later I pick it up. No hassle, no nothing. Just the price of the oil change and actually a compliment on how clean the car was under the hood. I believe the gentlemen that helped me out was named Neff. Cool dude!
Also, they specialize in BMW and Mercedes Benz, but they told me they will take anything with an engine. Will come again hands down

This is one of the closest shop from my work when my '10 gti broke down. took it here relying on reviews. one of the injectors went out and he recommended to have it all changed. They fixed the issue in less than one day. when I was picking up my car though the engine light was on and Neff said he forgot to reset it. A day later engine light came on again... It's easy to delete a code. I just hope the money I spent here was for a job they really did which I doubt but like Neff told me when we were having a conversation about making money "I gotta do what I gotta do, right" ...whatever. I told him to fix the problem (change one injector) but he was charging me too much and the deal to change all four injectors is just that. I don't have the time to be coming back every so often because the job was not done right the first time. Not everybody deserves a second chance. STAY AWAY!!!!!

I broke down right down the road from this place. He came right away and picked me up and got my car going enough to just get it there. He even drive it to the shop so I felt better. They diagnosed the problem immediately, quoted me a price and took me to the bus station. I came back the next day and he even saved me $30 on the part so it was cheaper. He will take care of you. I am so glad I found these guys on YELP. The reviews are correct. My experience with my first visit was very positive and a big thumbs up! Very professional, courteous and a lot less expensive than the dealership as an added bonus. I took my car in without an appointment at 10:00 a.m. and they not only did regular service but replaced brakes and rotors and was ready before 4 p.m. Never have I gotten my car back so quickly and without a bunch of BTW's from SM Mercedes. Many times I have had to get a rental car from the dealership as they couldn't do regular service timely. Lame. I think I finally found a home for my car to get serviced well and to deal with fabulous customer service. VERY HAPPY with M&N Automotive and will recommend to anyone that needs a great mechanic.
NOTE: If you take your car to them, the entrance is in the alley behind Jefferson. Store front faces Jefferson and it's not fancy.....look for grey metal bar fencing...no frills kind of place. And, if Cooper the dog is there...he is such a sweetie. You must give him lots of rubs. He is one awesome dog. :)

Had some work to be done so I was stoked to see a Benz specialist that wasn't too far from my new SoCal home -- not to mention they were open on Saturdays and had a flawless Yelp track record. Pretty disappointed overall and I didn't even get actual work done because I left this shop not trusting the guys to do a thorough and good job.
Ugh so I just wrote a review (rant?) and it went over 5,000 characters so it's probably easier to just put highlights...or lowlights, in the case of M&N:
-1 for not booking actual appointment time slots for customers. I don't want to get double, triple or quadzillion booked and have my car rushed through just so you can get through all your Saturday walk-ins.
-1 for not taking important and basic info like my name, phone number, etc. What if something came up where you needed to contact me due to unforeseen circumstances? Just shows they likely don't keep good records.
-1 for being located in possibly one of the worst locations for a car shop: in a narrow alley with almost zero parking space. I would love to see what your customers with an ML or G-wagon have to do to u-turn out of this alley.
-1 for having a grungy and janky looking office, as well as an unorganized and cluttered shop area
-1 for not introducing yourself, asking my name, shaking my hand as a customer and fellow car enthusiast, etc. Old-school business courtesy is a dying art.
-1 for doing a half-ass job of checking my car. Miguel didn't look at the upper control arms or tie rods until I asked him to. His job of checking was feebly using a prybar. It wasn't even until the end he finally asked Neff (the other tech) did the wheel shake test.
-1 for not knowing how long simple R&R jobs take. Lower control arm bushings that are shared across 2 other models, one of which is the most common Benz on the road? El oh el.
-1 for not having the Benz specific computer diagnostic system or the tranny fluid change machine. OBDII is not a sufficient supplement for STAR, and inconveniencing your customers because you're too cheap to get the tranny fluid machine repaired is ridiculous.
So if I started at an average 3 star rating, with all these -1's we'd be at a -5 star rating. Only reason I gave one star up was because at least you guys weren't total jerks or anything. Not sure how other people could give such glowing reviews, but this was a terrible experience for me; I'll attribute that fact due to most Benz drivers not having much idea of what it takes to properly maintain and care for a Benz. I hate to break your Yelp streak but there's no way I can recommend M&N to any Benz owners I know =/

After the warranty on my BMW expired I did not want to pay their dealership prices for service, however I do want their quality. Finding a good and honest mechanic/garage can be a challenging proposition. It's even more challenging to find shops that specialize on German/luxury cars in the Culver City, Marina Del Rey, LAX area.
After searching through Yelp! for 'BMW service", calling some of the other janky garages that came up, and then reading the reviews of M&N, I put my trust into the Yelp! community and thankfully it didn't let me down.
While located in an obscure place once you find them it's all good. Their team is courteous and professional. I had an oil leak and needed my rear brakes replaced. They honored the Yelp! discount and also was willing to work with me to get to a very reasonable price for the brake work. I had seen the brake parts listed online for less than what they originally quoted me for, but they were willing to match the online prices. They took good care of my car and it ran even better after the service. A month later my coolant level was low and when I drove my car to the shop they refilled it complimentary. It's business practices like this which earns my repeat business and referrals.
This is now my neighborhood "go to" garage!

This review is for quite some time ago but long overdue.
Me and my wife found this place through yelp and it is a little hard to find in the alley but once you find it, it is well worth it. Neff is really nice and really seems to know what he is talking about. Here, they are all about customer service! We had drove by earlier to talk about my Jeep and what was wrong and I also needed an oil change. Unfortunately, we could not leave the car there over night but he told me we would bring it back at our convenience and he would get it taken care of for us.
After I dropped it off, we went over the problems again and left him with the vehicle and he told me it would be ready in a few hours. When I came back we went over the few problems and what the issues were. He even went and bought screws for a pull handle I needed to install and installed it for me free of charge (granted a simple task, but very easily could have charged me for it)! He was not a pushy salesman and told me that I could wait until the next oil change to do one of the tasks but the others were not even an issue and that I wouldn't need to do it for quite awhile. Most places would have told me that I had to get it all done and that it needed to be done right away. He was very informative and really gave me the right advice and I will definitely be coming back for more service on my Jeep.

I am so glad to have found M&N Automotive!
I recently moved to LA (a 2,500 mile road trip) and wanted to find a place to get my car checked up/an oil change. I know they specialize in fancy cars--but they are very close to where I live so I called them anyway to see if they would take me and my Ford Taurus.
I didn't need an appointment--they took care of me right away. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy. I've been in a few times now and have only wonderful things to say.
My favorite staff member, Neff, takes good care of my car and answers all my questions as I am a first time car owner.
The prices are great and the employees are kind. I don't know how anyone could have a bad experience here.

Very trustworthy! I have a 1986 BMW 325i and a 1996 BMW 750il; both are maintenance by M&N.
I've been to other independent shops and dealerships and the difference between those guys and M&N is huge. They not only tell me what needs to be immediately addressed, but they also tell me what needs preventative maintenance (and with a BMW, preventative maintenance goes A LONG WAY). When I have a question they: show me exactly what the problem is: what they'll do to fix it: and quote me a price. M&N is very trustworthy, and their prices are VERY FAIR.

Aside from price, the other important criteria I look for in a business is proximity cuz I hate driving all over for various services and businesses.
I'm glad M&N is close to my house cuz Miguel and his crew do a pretty good job and are fairly speedy. I did my research and called around and had a few other mechanics look over a window regular problem I had and M&N offered the best quote and the final price for parts and labor was reasonably close.
I referred my father to get a few things repaired as well and he's pleased with the job M&N did as well.
I feel fairly comfortable making these place my go-to vehicle repair spot.

After I blew a tire on the freeway and saw how bald my back tires were, I took my car to Nef and told him there must be something wrong with my alignment. Turns out it wasn't just the alignment - it was my controls arms, suspension, spark plugs, etc. And I knew he was right when he asked me if I had noticed certain things happening with my car, and I hadn't mentioned them before to him! Great quote and the work was done so quickly. I actually needed a day to think about it since it was more work than I had planned on, and they put no pressure on me and held my car while I made my decision. Only regret I have was not getting my tires originally replaced with them. Next time!

Lets put it like this. I went to a auto body shop to get this side panel strip reattached to my Lexus . After there $300 to $400 estimate I decided to check yelp for help. I found M&N With 5 stars and only a mile away from my home.
I stopped by and before I could get out of my car someone was already asking me if I needed help : ) I showed them the part that needed reattachment and they said, " leave the part here and come back tomorrow.
I came back and they reattached the part in 5 minute. At that moment I was expecting them to say something about paying them. But no one said a word. (they just walk away like it wasn't a big deal) I was like WTF lol
To be honest, I was prepared to pay $100 to $200 buck !!
When I asked him what I owed him he kinda shrugged his shoulders and said, "I guess $20 buck ?" so I did the right thing and offered him $10 lol J/K lol I gave him $40 and told him thank you for being cool!!
Since that day I have brought him all my cars to be worked on. I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else...

These guys rock! Very polite and friendly. Very reasonable prices compared to the dealer and other garages. My Sienna needed an Air Conditioner Compressor and I called 28 different garages and got estimates that were so out of this world. These guys were honest and efficient. The place is small and tucked away but the work is great! Highly recommend them. Keep up the good work Miguel & Neff!

I took my car in during my lunch break, my coworker recomended this shop and it's very close to my job. I've been having issues with my car's idle for a while and after replacing a couple parts and spending a bit of money trying to resolve this issue, I figured it was worth a shot.
Neff was great. He took the time to listen and told me he would do what he could to diagnose the issue. I left my car for a couple hours and the problem was resolved. He said it was a simple coolant issue and when I asked how much I owed him he said nothing! I can't thank Neff enough for repairing my car, I will definitely be going back to M&N for any future repairs. They are definitely trustworthy and efficient.

I have a 99 Mercedes ML 320 and have always taken it to downtown LA motors. After constantly being overcharged and tired of dealing with their inefficient services, I decided to look elsewhere.
I could not be more happy with Miguel at M and N. I dropped in one afternoon, he diagnosed my problem, and the next day my car had a new power steering pump and had my leaking coolant system fixed.
It was a great price and I felt very comfortable with my car there. Miguel has years of experience working at high-end dealership service departments, and now he is running his own shop.
And he will give you a ride if you need one. Just head down the alley to find his shop and you will be another happy customer.

I have had SO many negative experiences with mechanics. I've tried several dealers (aka stealership), independent mechanics, chain mechanics (Midas, Jiffy Lube, 76 gas station), all of them have messed my car up in one way or another, or charged me far more than I should have been charged.
One of the better mechanics so far has been Atlantic Automotive, which I found through Yelp. I will say that the guys at Atlantic were hard-working and honest, but they did give me some bad advice. In their effort to save me money, they recommended that I not do a repair which my dealer had recommended. And it turned out to be bad advice because my car futzed out immediately after and I had to spend far more money to fix it than I would have if I had gotten the service done. I literally lost $1,000 (no joke) due to their very bad advice.
So I found M&N Automotive on the recommendation of a coworker.
And they are my saving grace. Hands down, I would argue they are the best, more reliable, honest and inexpensive auto shop in L.A. I think the only reason they aren't more well known is because they are very hard to find and their shop is teeny tiny. Well, that lack of overhead saves me A LOT of money.
I have found them to be several hundred dollars cheaper than my dealer and other comparable mechanics. They also get my car fixed IMMEDIATELY. I call in the morning and drop it off and I get my car back in tip-top shape in the late afternoon. I don't have to make appointments several days down the line. Their work is great and they give me really good prices. I feel like I can trust them to take good care of my car and not rip me off while doing so. My car always runs so much smoother after I drop her off with them. They also just make me feel taken care of, and like I don't have to worry about things car-related.
Just a note, if you are trying to find them, the entrance to the shop is in the back alley. So you will drive right by M&N Auto (you can see the sign) on Jefferson, turn south down Messmer and you'll see the alleyway that leads to M&N's entrance. Again, it is TINY but hey, I have no complaints about size. They also will offer you a ride if you need to get somewhere.
Ask for Matt and he'll set you up. I really like these guys and have already recommended them to friends. It's worth the drive to Culver City and I can pretty much guarantee that you'll be impressed by the service, quality and price.

These guys are fantastic. My parents found them when they had problems with their Honda CR-V, and I had some preventive maintenance issues I wanted to take care of in my Mercedes. I was given a $1800 quote from my usual mechanic, and in my desperation, turned to Miguel from M&N Automotive for a solution.
I was initially skeptical. Their workshop is situated in a questionable back alley with hardly any other European cars, and the Mercedes (read: snobby) driver in me was somewhat hesitant. Well... Boy was I surprised!
Not only were they quick, but they did an exemplary job too. Best of all, they charged me $700 as opposed to $1800, saving me a lot of money. I really like how down to earth Miguel is and how he doesn't mind me bargaining a little bit. I really like these guys and will definitely go back to them in the near future.

I recommend this place, hands down. Miguel is soooo nice and very knowledgeable at repairing vehicles. I have a Chrysler Pacifica and needed to replace the water pump, and was referred to this shop. Miguel suggested replacing the timing belts and front motor mount at the same time (this was really needed because I have never replaced the timing belt and car has almost 100k miles on it; he showed me that the front motor mount was broken). I did some research online first just for peace of mind. M & N Automotive offered the best quote and Miguel was very easygoing; he described how they were going to replace the parts and the brand they would use, etc. After the work was completed, he showed me the parts they replaced. My car runs very smooth and no more water leaks they even recharged my A/C. I feel very pleased with the service, price, and the work they do. I will never take my car anywhere else.
I just bought my son a used car and had them check it out too and plan to have it serviced here when needed. Thanks for a great job M & N Automotive!

Took in my 2002 CLK Mercedes for air conditioning problem. Miguel was very professional, knowlegable & helpful. After 103,000 miles, the compressor needed to be replaced. Had the work done the next day, & was charged a much lower price than original estimate (!) for a new compressor & labor. Miguel also reset the car's computer (regarding some other annoying interior electronic issues) at no charge.
I fully intend to return for future car repairs and would highly recommend their services to anyone. Miguel specializes in BMW's and Mercedes's (trained w/ dealerships) but does work on all cars.

Very honest and reliable I had work done and was very satisfied and they were the cheapest around and didnt try to charge for extra stuff as I obtained quotes I found them to have the best price. Love Miguel! I have brought my two cars here and he has always done a great job and at a great price.
I had a nail in my tire and called around to tire places that wanted $20 just to patch the tire and said it would take a hour or so. Then i thought about Miguel and gave him a call, he said to bring it right down and he would take care of it and only charged me $5 - of course I gave him a tip. He is very very reliable and i don't feel like I am getting ripped off like at the 76 gas station in MDR.
I have referred all my friends and coworkers to him and they have all liked his work as well!
I have had my brakes fixed there, as well as a new water pump/timing belt, gaskets replaced, etc. I am a female and feel like when i go elsewhere, they try to increase the price or tell me things that don't neccessarily need to be done just because they think i don't know anything. At M&N auto, i don't feel that way.
Definitely go here - he will do a great job!

These guys are truly fantastic. Being a BMW fanatic, I'm very selective at where I bring my car. I had a minor problem with the coolant in my e46 and had a tough time finding a place to bring my car in during work hours that knew BMWs specifically. After talking to M&N, I brought my car in during lunch and the mechanic fixed the problem right away. He made sure other things were in a good place with the rest of the engine as well. Made my day.

I saw the sign for this place on the street and looked them up on Yelp. All great reviews and well deserved!! I had a problem with my BMW electric window. These guys took me in no time, soooo accomodating, and they were very helpful and reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back for all my car needs!

Really great experience! They were really friendly and took a look at my car almost immediately. They gave me my options and didn't pressure me one way or the other even though one of the options would make them significantly less money. I would definitely go back again! Don't let the fact that they're in an alleyway scare you, they did a great job!

This was the quickest and best experience I have ever had with an auto body shop!!! I found them on Yelp and was really impressed with all the reviews. I called them, told them my situation with my Jeep, they said to come in anytime. I went to their shop right after I hung up the phone and within minutes my Jeep was in the garage being looked at and then fixed! I didn't even have enough time to make a phone call.
Miguel and Nif were super sweet, fast and they knew what was up.
I am going back next week for them to do my brakes!
The shop is in an alley but not even hard to find!

go here before any other shop.
they even GUARANTEED my transmission and when it went out, they put a NEW ONE in free. where do you get that kind of honesty in auto repair.
