Long time satisfied customer.
Very friendly and helpful to everyone.
Ignore the negative reviews that have nothing to do with their service and from high maintenance people.
"He gave me my money back, but I'm still mad.."
"He kept talking and looking at my friend.."
"They wouldn't take the time to send me a detailed list of their prices.."
Really?! WTF People!

The people are nice that work there but I can't believe they charged me $60 just to tell me to get an oil change. I repeat, not $60 for an oil change but just to tell me I needed an oil change. I didn't need to go there for that. I called them prior and told them my maintenance light was on and they said they could decode it for free.
My immediate thought was "this sounds too good to be true" and of course it was. It ended up being $60 and when I asked what he charged me for he said "it's cause you asked to check." I was so clueless cause all he did was show me my dipstick. Yeah, I know how to check my oil levels. I guess that's considered checking? Ridiculous.
He (the owner?) said he could change my oil but I told him I'd do it myself. He said if I came back after they'd reset my light, but I had the oil changed and light reset myself. Basically I paid $60 for them to tell me what I already knew. I thought it was something more serious because usually my check engine light comes on for oil change not my maintenance light. I should've had my oil changed before coming, but the fact that the guy felt like it was legitimate to charge me $60 just to tell me I need an oil makes me think this place is only in it for the money.

In brief, the employees at A1 were very aggressive, trying to scam me into replacing all 4 of my tires, although they are only a few years old and in good condition.
I've been getting a very loud droning noise while driving my compact car, which I suspect is coming from a wheel bearing. I called A1 Tires to see if they could help diagnose the droning noise. The man who answered the phone just said "Hello?" without stating the name of the business, so I had to ask him if I'd reached A1 Tires.
They were available immediately, so I drove down to have my car looked at. When I got there, there were two men in the garage. One was sitting behind his desk chatting with a family (possibly his own family) that was just hanging out in the garage. He ignored me until the entire family started staring at me, then said "Yes?" without looking at me. I looked at him in confusion, wondering if he was talking to me. After a short pause he said the other man would help me.
The other guy stepped out and listened as I described the problem. He gave my tires a quick look and then started babbling about how I needed new tires and something about the "bubbles" (my sidewalls are not bubbling, so I have no idea what he was referring to). He moved quickly and was vague about the condition of the tires, trying to keep me off guard.
I should note now that the tires are only 3 years old; each tire has at least 4/36" of tread left and is in good condition. The tread wear indicators are nowhere near flush with the treads yet, there are no problems with the sidewalls or other indications of impending failure.
After looking over the tires he asserted that all 4 were "about to blow" and needed to be replaced. He tried to suggest that faint cracks in the outer surface of the rubber - a normal side-effect of exposure to the sun - indicated the tire was far past its lifetime and about to burst. I did ask him how much it would cost to replace all 4 tires; he mumbled "$195?" and then asked the other employee, who said $300.
I repeatedly tried to ask him whether he could look at the wheel bearings and how much that would cost, but he kept insisting he could look at the bearings "while replacing the tires".
Since the tires obviously did not need replacing, I tried to make my leave by saying I would think about it and come back later. He continued his aggressive behavior, telling me the tires were about to blow and I should really have them replaced immediately. After telling him I was going to leave about a half-dozen times, he finally let me get into my car, although he then approached the window and asked how much I was willing to spend on the tires.
Had they successfully tricked me into buying the 4 tires, I'm sure they would have found a problem with the bearing and tried to milk me for hundreds more.
Stay clear of here unless you already know you definitely need knew tires.

These guys were just what I needed on a wet rainy day. Due to my own foolishness, I'd let me tire get well pass safe. I was in town visiting a friend and I knew there was no way I would make it another 10 miles on my old tires.
They got me right in and out the garage in at a great pace and with pretty good prices. Thanks A-1 for ensuring me a safe ride back to San Diego.

I came across A1 tires when I was in San Dimas, I was very impressed with the service they gave me. They suggested a great mechanical advice without being pushy. I would definitely recommend them,

I totally recommend this place to everyone. I recently was given 4 new tires and called A1 to Inquire as to how much they charge to put each tire on, with balance, disposal, etc..Jack gave me a quote on the spot that was $40 cheaper than the places up the street from his.. Plus he didn't try to charge me for any add-ons, which was great since I drive a nice car and are an easy target. Totally recommend. Good price, no up-sales, stands by his word. They also sell tires wholesale- their prices did seem to beat many I've seen.

If you get the San Dimas Quarterly in the mail then you've seen their ad. I came here to get my brake pads replaced and they were very nice. There are two guys working here. One is Fred and the other one I can't remember, but it could be Richard or Andy. The name eludes me. Anyway, the brake special they advertise is for the cheapy brake pads, the ceramic ones which they say are better quality and last longer, cost about $130.00. So the coupon doesn't really work unless you want the basic brake pads. I don't know the difference, but I figured I want the ones that last longer. This place only gets two stars because of what happened today. I came in around 1:15 - 1:30 and asked Fred/Richard/Andy ( I couldn't remember which one he was) how long it would take to get my oil change. He said a couple hours and to come back at 3. I said, okay and came at 3, and you know what happened!? He says, "you wanna leave your car, I'm very busy today, I don't have time" Umm..if you were busy and didn't have time why didn't you just say so the first time I came, instead of waste my time and have me come back!?! Then he suggests I come back on Monday, I tell him I have work and while he's putting air into an old lady's tires I walk away and leave. Done with this place.
