In March, 2015 I brought my car in to Rocket's Auto Repair with a host of major and minor issues that had been affecting more car anywhere from a few weeks to several years. Every repair was completed to my full satisfaction in a very timely manner and I was extremely happy with the results. I had an excellent experience at Rocket's.
I had recently been over-charged for getting my car serviced at a Toyota dealer, and I was quoted a very high amount to get transmission fluid and a new water pump. So I went to Rocket's, and there, after looking at my car, the owner explained to me that I didn't need a new water pump, charged me only for the transmission fluid, and beat the price of the dealer by 30%. Rocket explained to me everything I needed to know about my car, was very transparent and helpful, and I will be going to his repair shop from now on.

Dealing with car issues is my very least favorite thing to do and every time I have to take care of things I get a little anxious. My visit to Rocket's Auto Repair was one of the easiest and best experiences I have EVER had! After exchanging a couple of messages on Yelp and getting a very fast response from the owner I took my car in and they took care of my issue right away, and wasn't even charged for the service.
Thank you Rocket for everything, from your excellent service to your ability to make a customer feel welcome at your business. Now
I know of a place to bring my car should I have any more issues with it! Thank you!! :)

I had two tires that needed mending due to screws stuck in them. I choose to go to Rocket's after reading the yelp reviews and looking at it's proximity to a friend's house where I could go hang out while waiting. I messaged the business ahead of time to ask for a quote and Rocket got back to me right away letting me know that a flat repair would be $25/each. I called and scheduled an appointment and everything was groovy from drop off to pick up. Rocket even told me that if there seems to be an issue with the flat repair to call him and they would be sure to look at it. I would definitely go back for another tire repair if needed.

Rockets auto has to be the most dishonest rude place I've ever been to. His mechanics obviously have no idea what they are doing I bought a car from him not long ago which I must add he flips car from what I've seen and not sure if he has a dealers license I'm assuming not since he never put the car in his name after owning it for 4 months. Bought the car sounded good ran good a week later was having bad problems shaking dying running horrible. I contacted him he charged me $500 on top of what I bought it for. He left no paper trail so there was nothing I could do since he did not put the car in his name left it in the lady's name he bought it from. Well he said he fixed it. It had a blown head gasket he told me when I bought it that it was fixed and the heads were resurfaced and pressure tested. When I went back with this problem he changed the story saying he never resurfaced it and that he did this time. I drive to and from work that's it. I've put 600 miles on the car since he supposedly fixed it for the second time, and after the first month the shaking the knocking the ticking the horrible sound was back. I've since been talking to the bar and the BBB but seems like nothing I can do since the car does not lead back to him. I feel played and disappointed. I have children that need to go to school or doctors appointments and I now fear that we will break down on the side of the road. I really hope everyone does their research before using him. He seems so innocent and great from some yelp users but he really left me in a bad place. I will never go back I will never recommend and I will tell my story to everyone that I can.

I went to get an oil-change here, and they did a great job. I've had some bad oil changes in the past so I'm sensitive to them. However, the owner kind of overshared with me/ almost bragging about his hot new wife that is 20 years younger than him. I'm in my 20s, and I found this to be extremely unprofessional even though they did a good job on my car. Icky.

I'm REALLY offended! I was taken advantage of at this shop. $200 to replace a cab filter when Acura only charges $50. You should be ashamed of yourself taking advantage of hard working people. We put our trust in you because you're supposed to be the subject matter experts but yet you scam people out of $100s of dollars. I hope your shop fails and you loose everything. You're nothing but a scam artist!

WHAT A FANTASTIC GUY
I really can't put into words how well Rocket treated me. He is a quirky guy and honest business man who isn't in it to rip anyone off. He actually cares about people on a level that no other mechanic shop has ever skimmed upon. I think we all hate when our car isn't doing exactly what we want It to-not breaking down. Most of us also don't put a mechanic into the same heart pocket we may put say our physician, dentist or priest. Trust seems to be something we struggle with...always thinking we should pay less, are they telling me something is wrong when it's not...etc. But, I can say with conviction that I may trust Rocket more than anyone I've ever handed money to. I was stranded on the side of the road with my puppy, had my car towed to rockets (because he was closest and Had decent yelp reviews. ) they found I needed a New water pump...which cost WAY more than I ever imagined. I cried. Literally...shed embarrassing tears in front of rocket after he told me the price, while standing in the lobby. I am a young woman traveling the country humbly, proud to have my freedom, minimal possessions....however minimal finances can really suck sometimes. He proceeded to talk me, calming me down and assuring that he was going to take care of us. He made a ridiculously good deal with me...I can't be more appreciative. His mechanic Eric was also fantastic, he stayed late to get the job done so I wasn't stuck overnight in a town I didn't know anyone in. He also proudly shared his progress with me and showed me the bad water pump and explained how it all works. Loved the information. I recommend his shop above all.

Came in today at 11am for a simple lug nut/stud replacement and brought my own parts for that. The job cost me $57 (the technician quoted me that price initially for a half hour labor charge). The job ended up taking 15 minutes to complete. When I brought that up (the fact that it only took him 15 minutes) to the technician he said it was a difficult job, he had to pull the calipers, etc... I told him labor is labor no matter what you do and that's why you get to charge $100+ an hour for it. An oil change typically takes 15 minutes to complete also but only costs $30-$40 on average and the technician has to lift the car up and crawl under the car. The fact of the matter is he only spent 15 minutes so I should've been charged half of what he quoted me. He went on to say if the owner were here, he would've charged me an hour for that work. Now he lost me at this point. Please explain to me why a 15-minute job would cost me an hour's worth of labor? He said he already gave me a discount because I brought in my own parts. He also said if you want service done you gotta pay for it. Wow!!! I don't have a problem paying for the service done as long as the charge was justified and appropriate. I asked around after I got the work done - Les Schwab charges $40-$45, Wheel Works charges $40 including parts. Definitely not coming in here again.

I was well-treated here. I had a coolant leak coming from under the engine, so they checked it out and found the problem quickly. Even though the cause of it was an expensive fix, and not worth it for the car, Mark knocked 20 bucks off the diagnosis, and even gave me a Lotto scratcher so maybe I could "win a new car." Haha, nice touch.

I will definitely not be going here again. Unfortunately, I found my experience here to be unprofessional and somewhat inaccurate. They recommended a tire rotation for $129 and a second opinion (and $50 later) I learned that my tires were perfectly aligned.
I found this shop and chose to go there because there was a "first time oil change" deal for $39 online. Avec I got there, they charged much more and when I inquired, they claimed that the quoted price didn't include fees and such. (There was no fine print that mentioned this on the promotion.) When I agreed, but suggested that it was a bit deceiving, they said that it worked because it got me in the door...
I didn't leave feeling good about this business.

I went in a few days ago for an oil change and the guys there were very informative and to the point. He went over all the pricing and time line before I signed anything and made sure I didn't have any questions before they got started. It didn't feel like they were trying to feed me any b.s and sell me anything more than what I was asking for. They got me in and out which was perfect. Been in twice for oil changes.
Today, stopped in for an oil change but they discovered my brakes were worn down almost to the rotors. I appreciated the thorough estimate they gave (and throwing in tire rotation and rear brake adjustments) and how quickly they replaced my brakes while I waited. As someone who doesn't know cars at all, it's nice that they spend the time to show and explain the issues (and what the implications of fixing now or waiting are). Will be back.
Only reason I'm not giving five stars: when I called for my first oil change, they told me about the buy 3, get 1 free deal. Today, when I came in for what I thought was oil change #2, I was informed that the first one didn't count because they had given me a "special" (an extra five dollars off). Not enough to argue over, but clearly that math does not work out in my favor so it would've been nice to know ahead of time that the "special" would actually cost me more in the long run.

My issue was a car window that would only scroll down and wouldn't come back up. Turns out the master switch was broken and a new master switch from Toyota would cost ~$700. Rocket recommended looking online and lo and behold, the switch was only $50.
The service was awesome and Rocket demonstrated real expertise. I will be going back after finding the right switch to buy online.

I can recommend Rocket's Auto Repair highly. Let me explain why.
The brakes on my wife's car failed. The first shop I brought it to essentially shrugged and said it happens sometimes and not to worry. I called Rocket because he came highly recommended from several sources and I wanted a second opinion before my infant child rode in that car again.
Rocket confirmed my suspicions and took the time to explain in detail the issue, what needed to be fixed, and why. Within a few hours of dropping the vehicle off it was back into safe driving condition again.
A few weeks later my own car started to have electrical issues and so I called Rocket and let him know what the car was doing. The sterling service was a carbon copy of my first experience - detailed explanation, quick turn around, and a sense of understanding and control as the consumer.
Rocket's Auto takes it a step further and provides that rare experience of feeling like you received a good deal. I was very happy with the pricing on both my repairs and will be actively pointing others to Rocket's Auto Repair.

Wow! We were on our way from Mendocino to SF and hit a deer that skidded off from someone else's car. Absolute freak occurrence! And it was late on a Saturday, meaning most shops take Sunday off. We were in a pinch to make sure we could drive it back and Rocket himself stayed in late on a football Sunday just to check it out.
He did a really thorough and quick look, nothing that would make the car unsafe to drive came up. And after all that time he gave us advice on the repairs and didn't charge us a cent.
How honest can you get? Wonderful guy, kinda wish we lived out there so he would be our go-to mechanic.

If you're looking for an honest, friendly car repair company - Rockets is it!
Being a woman, you can't help but wonder if you're going to get taken advantage of when you bring your car in for a sudden repair.
I was out running errands when I noticed I had a screw stuck in one of my rear tires. I quickly did a Yelp search and saw Rockets had good reviews and was nearby so I decided to check it out.
To my surprise a friendly gentleman at the counter said he'd be happy to have his repairman take a look at it right away. I was hoping it could be patched which was going to cost $25, which I thought was very reasonable, and only take about 15 minutes.
Fortunately though, he came back quickly with good news - the screw didn't puncture the tire. The repairman pulled it out and the gentleman said "no charge." I was so relieved....especially because any other car repair place could have come back with "looks like you're gonna need two new back tires ma'am." But only honesty here!!
All I know is if I ever need any further repairs on my Acadia, and I want honest, friendly customer service, I'm definitely going to Rockets.

I brought my car in to address a failed smog test, which occurred as a result of an issue with my computer--or so I thought. Rocket took a quick look and showed me, right there, that the computer was running just fine! The smog testers hadn't even performed the check correctly. He directed me to a smog tester he trusts, and told me to get my money back from the other guys.
I also needed a tune-up, as I was long overdue on quite a few things. Rocket was up-front about what needed to be done before he even got started. I really appreciated that. I cannot recommend Rocket's Auto Repair enough.

My granddaughter took her car into a repair shop (NOT Rocket's) to be checked out as it overheated on a long trip. They said she needed to replace the head gasket, etc. etc. for a mere $1200.
Took the car to Rocket's. He found no indication of head gasket needing to be replaced, made a couple recommendations and helped to prioritize routine maintenance. Rocket is an expert, honest, straightforward. We'll be back!!

I highly recommend this place. The owner was very knowledgable and friendly and the mechanic was very helpful. They pointed out things that I needed to keep an eye on and things that had to be worked on soon. They found a nail in my tire, checked it out and they also changed out my brake lights (provide by me) for no charge! All I came in for was an oil change.
I felt they were honest and priced moderately, which is a rare combination in that line of work.
The best part about this place is it's right next door to Simply Vietnam, so if you're hungry while you're waiting for your car, you can grab some good food right next door. This place will be my go to mechanic from now on! Thanks guys!

Super convenient for me and great service. I brought in my car when it was making squeaking noises. I knew a part of the issue was the breaks but I did not know if there was something else going on too. It turned out to be just the breaks.
I work 5 minutes away and they were willing to give me rides to/from the office to drop off/pick up my car so that was a major plus. I got my problem resolved same day and it only took 20 minutes of my time total.
I asked them to check to see what other problems there might be that should be fixed now to prevent future failures and for safety concerns. That is the kind of gold mine question some less reputable shops would jump all over and monetize. My car is old and I have only been doing oil changes for a while and driving it into the ground so I wanted to know if there is something I should take care of. They highlighted some issues and gave recommendations which included price quotes. They were not pushy at all and actually suggested I had some more time before I needed to do a major maintenance item that I asked them to check. I'll definitely go back next time I need some work done.

Rocket & his crew have saved me and my truck, on a budget!
Brought in my Tacoma to address the check engine light (previous shop stated it was O2 sensor - turns out it was that, plus two other issues) and a tangible, consistent fuel smell. This is the fourth time in 4 years that the fuel smell has occurred (and has remained a mystery even though "repairs" have been done at another place).
With a flashlight and thorough notes, Rocket walked me through everything he and his mechanic found under the hood and the carriage. Hoses had been cut and stretched to fit, one hose wasn't even attached and all were cracking or torn. Bolts and washers were missing, parts were loose...the list goes on. The repairs to get the truck where it should be were more than I had expected due to the shoddy work by a previous shop.
After a discussion of my budget and needs, Rocket priced parts and came up with a plan to handle the most pressing repairs. He also provided a list of items to be addressed as I am able to. The grand total was initially more than I had budgeted for, but he worked with me to put the repairs within reach and even threw in the oil change FREE!
I was in the shop for about 4 hours - he has friendly staff and wi-fi, so I was able to work. I also have a window which needs replacing and they took the time to refer me to Advanced Glass and write the number down for me.
Rocket will seem like a whirlwind - he's as fast-paced as his name - but he knows his business and operates with integrity. We're moving to L.A., but I plan to bring the truck to Rocket any time we come back to visit family!

Strongly recommend not going to Rocket's Auto Repair. They are a highly unethical and dishonest auto repair shop. Was told the problem with my car and quoted a few hundred dollars. A little expensive for the repair, but had to have it fixed and approved the work. On pickup, they flashed an old part and said it was replaced. Seemed a little odd to do that, but ok, figured it was fixed. Unfortunately, the problem persisted shortly after, and did not feel entirely comfortable going back to Rocket's Auto Repair. Went to another shop to have it checked out. Turns out Rocket's never fixed the problem or replaced the part!! Have a sense, they "discover" problems all the time along with other assorted scams. An auto repair shop that should be avoided at all costs.
Update - Pretty sure Rocket has a Napoleon Complex at best, and at worst, the business acumen of a swarmy used car salesman. Interesting how Rockets Auto Repair has the following positive reviews from:

How about being a man and stop cheating people. The non-recommended Yelp reviews of this business also point out a few negative reviews that speak to Rocket scamming customers. Good advise from one of them, only use a credit card at Rocket's in case you need to dispute the charge. Savvy Yelp reviewers can read between the lines. This reviewer suggests that if you must do business with Rocket's Auto Repair, it should be with eyes wide open and your BS detector on full alert!

We'd driven up to Santa Rosa on Friday. While making a side trip there, the car would not start again. We called AAA - the guy said the battery is fine, it's the starter. He recommended Rocket's.
So we went there and even though it was late in the afternoon, they got it replaced quickly and we were on our way.
Friendly, fast and good service. They didn't try to saddle us with extra things, just what we needed. Got a discount for being a veteran, too!

Had to be in Santa Rosa for some work, arrived early and remembered I needed an oil change. Sought out a local shop, and when I pulled up my truck started smoking, Yikes. Even though Rocket's was booked up, they found a way to fix my truck and change the oil too. Moreover, this was done before I needed to get to a very important appointment later that day, and I made it. It is rare to find auto repair shops that actually really care and would go this extra step, so I had to write up this review. I don't write many reviews ever, so this should tell you how much an impression Rockets made for me. I will never go anywhere else!

I have twice brought my car to Rocket's for service, and twice received great service. Although both visits have been for simple oil changes, Rocket's staff takes the time to do all the little things that the super-cheapo places skip.
Why this matters: I don't think about air filters, and the cheapo places apparently don't either. But when Rocket showed me the air filter that hadn't been changed for several years, I realized why my gas mileage efficiency had been dropping.
These guys will take care of you--not just collect your money. Good shop!

Rocket is awesome! He is super friendly and is willing to work with you. What impressed me most about him is that he was super honest and just a down to earth kind of guy. I had my steering rack replaced and he said it would take about 3.5 hours. The job ended up taking much longer and he still respected the price for the original 3.5 hours. Overall he ended up saving me a lot of money and the job was done very well. This was my first time taking my car here and after such a great experience i will definitely be a returning customer!

These guys are the best! I originally came here for an oil change a few months ago and have been coming back for all my repairs since. Every single time I have gotten my work done in less time for less money than I was originally quoted. Today I got new tires and a realignment, and they fixed my broken blinker light for free! Friendly, straightforward, trustworthy, and an all around great deal. Hopefully I won't have to be back too soon, but when I do I'll be glad to come here.

Excellent!! I went to Rockets to get my car looked over before venturing on a road trip cross country. I was greeted with a warm smile, cute puppies, and excellent service. My car only had a few minor issues and they recommended I get them fixed back home- where the service would be cheaper. They also topped off my oil for free due to a improper oil change at another repair shop. Also, knowing very little about cars myself, everything was explained to me very well. I recommend this auto shop to everyone and anyone and I will bring my car back again.

These folks went way beyond the call of duty, and stayed late to get us back on the road. I was driving from Alaska to SOCAL with a disabled person, when the alternator on my 1998 Cadillac burned out on a SATURDAY at 2:00pm in Santa Rosa CA, it was over 90 degrres! I called my Triple AAA membership and got a tow to a local shop that had received a radio call from the tow truck driver about the needed repairs. When we arrived they already had the part, put the car in the bay and had us on the road at 5:30 No additional fees or overtime charges, If I lived local I would take all my business to this superb automotive repair shop. Kudos to Miss Auto too!

I would highly recommend Rocket's auto repair to anyone. The customer service was great, everyone was so friendly. I had a flat tire and they patched it up and put my spare back under my car in a very short amount of time. They also have comfy seating where you can sit and wait for your car, most places don't have that! This place is great! I will definitely be coming back.

I can only say that I'm impressed. Brought my car in for an oil change. Very friendly and fit me right in. Checked the reason for my "check engine" light being on, and replaced the fuse for it when it wasn't working for FREE! I'll definitely be bringing my vehicle back.

I drove by the shop and saw the sign for the $27.99 oil change, I gave them a call and set up an oil change with the owner. I was very impressed with the service and professionalism of this establishment. They did an inspection and noticed that my left light bulb for my license plate was out. I was impressed that they took time to really inspect my vehicle. They only charged me a few bucks to fix it even though they had to take the bumber off of my car. They also offered to rotate my tires as well. I was very, very happy with the work and my overall experience. I will be bringing my car back for all future service and repairs. I have a hybrid which they service.

I called 4 Wheel Brake Auto center at 4pm on Friday regarding my check engine light and my oil needing a change. Rocket kept a tech there, ordered the special oil my car needs and made sure the job was done right...and they stayed after hours to help me out. I was very impressed. Especially since, when my check engine light went on I was literally outside another local auto place that told me, "its 3.30pm on a Friday...go away, we cant do anything for you"!

This guy, "rocket" is a piece of WORK! A few months ago I brought my car into him for a problem with the fuel pump. $1,300.00 later it was fixed. I started smelling gas in my car a few weeks ago, thought it may have been a problem with the fuel pump he installed. He gave me an estimate for approx $1,300.00 and he said the fuel injectors were malfunctioning. I am on a fixed income and cannot afford that. He also scared me by telling me that my car was unsafe to drive and may "catch on fire". I went and got a second opinion and guess what they found....NOTHING!!!! There was nothing wrong with my car. I had just overfilled the gas tank!!! This guy is a rip off and everyone should know. Also the gentleman that told me there was nothing wrong with my car, told me he would have charged me around $600.00 for the fuel pump! DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO ROCKET!!!

I've been to Rocket's twice now and had a great experience both times. Rocket, Rob and Dave were are very friendly and helpful. I had an oil change that was a very reasonable price and just recently had them order and replace all four tires as well as fix the alignment. I was very pleased with the service. Their time estimates were exact for the service and they have wifi at their place in case you're waiting. Actually, they even have a treadmill to keep you busy. I'll definitely take my car back for it's next service appointment.

My brakes had been squeeking for a few weeks and I knew I need to get new pads and maybe rotors but kept putting it off. I finally made the call to Rocket's and was able to drop off my car in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon all fixed and ready to go! I threw a couple of hiccups into the works and they were still able to get me back into my car to make my afternoon appointments. Rocket was thoroughly professional, courteous, and his final cost was exactly what was quoted, NO Surprises, which was awesome. I'd highly recommend Rocket's if you want to have your car worked on by a group of professionals and back on the road in no time flat.
