I went to check my brakes and to see why it was liking oil when i got there the owner told me it was $700 dollars, he show me the problem i said ok them eight days later start dropping a lot of oil and when back with him and said it was another part and said it was $300 dollars he show me the problem, but three days later start liking worse he said it was another problem the didnt came from the same place, i went to another mechanic and told him my problem the other mechanic said he didnt do anything to my car and it was the same problem for the first time, i give this mechanic a lot of money please Dont go there he would not do anything neither would fix your car.

Need an Honest Mechanic?...Look no further!! Tom is the owner of this shop in Van Nuys. I got his number from another A/C guy in the area. Before I go to a mechanic I check price:
1st: quoted $120, 2nd: $180 and 3rd: $200...Tom's price...60 bucks!!! for the same service; with a smile and a nice handshake!! He's nice, Honest, knows cars and helped me for FREE-I had No $$- and then I came back the next day and he gave me service that was above Great!!!
Do Not waste $$ at a dealer or another rip-off shop...Go see Tom First!!!!

Fiance found this place for my old Nissan sentra as it was in need of some repairs. I've been told by a few mechanics about the oil leaks and that the cost would range from $1000-$3500. I know there's no way I plan to spend that kind of $ on an old car as the value on it isn't worth that much. The money spent on fixing it including replacing the headlights was less than the lowest estimate I was quoted. However this shop gave my car an extended life and I've since taken it to have the brakes fixed and an oil change. Yes I drive an old car but it's paid for and I'll drive it til it kicks the bucket. In the meantime, I'll use this place as my go to auto shop to keep my car running during it's golden years.

My family and I have been taking our cars (Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda) to Tom ever since he had his garage in Arleta and later moved to Van Nuys (about 6-8 years now). We had to follow his exceptional service and customer care.
He is very knowledgeable with cars in general and very honest; honesty and his family-oriented friendliness - which is the main reason why I've been going back to him with any concern on my car.
His services range from basic oil change, tune-ups, brakes to changing timing belts, motor mounts, and other major work. His prices are reasonable/fair.

Tom was very friendly and professional with us. He gave me the best price from three other estimates I called around for. I didn't even tell him what numbers $$$ were given to me, he gave the rock bottom price. Shop was clean, staff was friendly and knowledgable and there was plenty of parking. Thanks again Tom!

My dad used to take his car to the old location in arleta off of chase and woodman. So I've taken my family cars here since Tom works on all the cars in my family (aunt's uncle's cars). He's done major repairs on my car and all the work is great. Tom will let you even bring parts/oil that you bought from autozone or other car repair places and just change the part/oil for you. But recently my sister and I have take our cars here for just routine things like tire rotations and our cars have had more or different problems afterwards.

First review on yelp and had to make this my first stop. I had a friend recommend a mehanic shop that would not empty my pocket like the dealers. From experience-don't trust a dealer they will take you for everything. Anyhow my 92 Camry was giving me problems all over-leaking oil fluids and noise cranking coming from some where. I called for an appointment with Tom the owner, he told me to bring the car in and he'll diagnose the problem without charging me any fee.. That was a big plus in book! So the problem was crank seal rear main seals and a bunch of seals that basically was old. I ended up fixing every problem on my Camry and I was still pleased with his total price. I have been coming to Tom for all my problems, even my parents come to him. I would definitely recommend this shop if you live near by.
