What a great easy experience. I had always gone to my local guy near me who was good but Andre's customer service and explanation of my issues was on point. He was thorough and took into consideration what I had anticipated on spending. My car was ready by the end of the day and I was really happy with the outcome.

Andres is great!! I was in dire need of a new clutch for my 2007 Mini Cooper Sport, a pretty costly repair. Fortunately, a co-worker referred me to Andres and I feel so grateful that he did! My co-worker has been bringing his cars to Andres for a few years and told me that not only was he a great mechanic but that he was trustworthy as well. Andres gave me a great quote and while my car was in his shop, he noticed that the rotors on my front brakes were too small. I had my front brakes done a few months earlier by another shop and if Andres hadn't noticed that, over time, my front brakes would have resulted in another costly repair. AND Andres noticed that I needed an oil change and a new fog light that had gone out and he helped to raise my slightly sagging front bumper.
So....yes, Andres replaced my clutch but he also assessed my vehicle overall. I will be bringing my car here in the future and I will be referring my friends to Andres.
And on top of all of this, Andres was such a nice man to deal with.

My last review was somehow deleted for "not enough info", so now I'll go into detail.
People who rate this higher have no idea of actual costs.
I went in for a simple diagnostic of my 'exotic', usually free at a reputable place, Andre charged $90.
He said my problem would require him to "send the part out for repair and/or rebuild" at a cost of $600.
He also tried to up sell me on other unneeded repairs, ex: "oil pan is leaking, cost: $400"
"Car needs u joints, cost $500"
Result:
The $600 repair job was completed at a close by specialist shop, where he no doubt would have sent it..... for $155
The "oil pan leak" was merely a worn drain plug, actual cost, $18
U joints ...now this is the most upsetting, my car doesn't even have u joints......
So, beware, this unassuming mild mannered dude is s wolf in sheeps clothing.
If this review gets deleted I will cancel my yelp account as it is totally true.
It is an up sell business and Andre is the master at it.

Needed to get a headlight fixed - it was shorting out and part of it had burned out. Andre found a replacement at a junk yard, saving me several hundred dollars, and installed it quick as a whistle. Plus, he and his wife are a pleasure to speak with. Highly recommend.

Can not say enough good things about Andre's Automotive and Andre himself! I'm so relieved to finally find a nice and honest mechanic. It's just an added bonus that he lives down the street from me!
I have brought my car in twice over the past few months, for minor repairs and maintenance. This past weekend after breaking down on the freeway, I brought my car to Andre again. Within a few hours he called me back to tell me what the problem was and that I should try calling my dealership because these parts on my car were getting recalled. I called the dealer and it turns out this part was covered under the extended warranty for a recall! I would have had no idea! Andre saved me hundreds by being honest and straight forward with me. But in return, he will have a customer for many years to come! Don't think about going anywhere else - Andre is your guy.

A true professional and quick and kind service- highly recommended! My car was making a horrible noise, so I was afraid to drive it far. Luckily, Andre was just down the street I found after a quick yelp search. I work far away, and he was willing to stay late after closing both when I dropped my car off and picked it up after the repairs. The part broken was the alternator, and he fixed it including the labor for $400 dollars. This seems to be a fair price based on my internet research. It only took one day to fix, and his office staff handled communication very effectively. I hope my car has no more issues, but if it does, I would definitely bring my car back to Andre's.

Came in for a routine check-up and they were extremely friendly and upfront. Was able to get new front brake pads and a full inspection at a very reasonable cost and in under 2 hours. This was on a Saturday. Very impressed and recommend highly!

Love this place! I have taken my car and my husbands car here twice and we are very happy! its very hard these days to find a good HONEST body shop. I am so tired of body shops telling you that you need work done just to get money from you. Andre is the opposite. when I thought my brakes were bad, he said my brakes are in good condition and not to worry! I am not use to that! He has affordable prices and he's very nice and patient! I use to get anxiety going to body shops but now I feel comfortable dropping off my car knowing I am getting taken care of and in good hands!
I would 100% recommended anyone come get there car worked on here if you want good customer service, Honesty, and good prices.
so happy I finally found a body shop that I will continue and only go to!

Andre's an AMAZING mechanic and goes above and beyond to make sure The Grayson family's cars are taken care of. In addition to his stellar work, he's honest, has INCREDIBLE customer service, and pays attention to EVERY detail. As a matter of fact, my Mother (Mary Grayson) took her brand new car to him, only to find out that parts had been recalled and mandatory services had to be performed. Important updates that the DEALERSHIP didn't even notice or act on.
He is one of THE ONLY reputable mechanics left and if you're in the area, you should take every car you own to him. This is also a family owned business with strong ties to the community. The Grayson family has been going to them for 16 years.

Andre is really a wonderful guy and great mechanic.
I took my mini there to get it ready to sell. I had TWO other mechanics check it out and they both gave me conflicting advice on what to fix, not to mention their prices were 30% higher!
Andre's quotes came in lower and he gave me REAL, HONEST feedback on what I NEEDED to do before I put my car up for sale.
On top of my Mini's work...the car dealership that I bought my new car from takes ALL of their vehicles to him to get a 77 point inspection. So they've been trusting him for YEARS. And now I know my new car is in good shape!

I got my car repaired at Andre;s a few weeks ago and it was an excellent experience. I had my entire front axle replaced, started replaced, and new drum brakes installed on a 1994 Nissan Sentra for well under what I had been quoted by other mechanics. It only took about 4 days (dropped off on a Friday, picked up on the following Wednesday) and Andre was exceedingly accommodating, polite, and straightforward. I realized after the fact that this was in fact the place my cousin had been recommending for years, and now I see why! Thank you, Andre!

I have been dealing with Andre for a number of years & there's NO WAY I would take my vehicle to ANYONE else. His work is superb & he's to be totally trusted. I allow him to tell me &/or fix anything necessary. Aside from him telling me what I need he'll also tell me what I don't need, therefore, saving me money by suggesting a simpler or cheaper way of correcting a problem. I've turned others on to Andre's Automotive & these people can't thank me enough for me suggesting they do ALL their repairs with him.

For me, an initial indication of a good shop is it's cleanliness and attention to the customer when pulling in. Andre's shop is an exceptional shop as I found him to be honest in his assessment of requested repairs and pricing only needed repairs. He is in contact with the customer regarding repairs that maybe needed assuring that when he releases the car it is safe to drive. The work is excellent, the prices are fair and what I most appreciate about Andre is that he doesn't invent problems but instead is very focused on how to repair what is actually wrong. Well what can I say, thinking it wouldn't happen??
My bmw m3 car breaking down!!! Andre's automotive was referred to me by a friend,I was skeptical in the beginning because I love my car !!!! Andre is the best!!!!! My car runs amazing!!! I will continue to get my car serviced for every need..the dealerships way to expensive.andre"s prices are so reasonable I was so surprised and happy. The Shane Family has relied on the automotive repair expertise of Andre even before he started on his own..well over 23 years. He is a totally honest mechanic and a sincere gentleman. He knows cars and has always advised us if the problem was solvable or not. We have owned much older cars and he did not turn us away like the dealerships who merely wanted to sell us new cars only. While we no longer live in Sherman Oaks, we still have our relatively new car serviced at Andre's Automotive. He is the very best and we highly recommend him.

The best compliment I can give Andre is that I trust him more than I trust the dealership to repair my cars. I've taken my cars to Andre for about five years.
He's honest and doesn't exaggerate needed repairs. His pricing is fair. He's very easy to reach by phone to make an appointment. I never have to wait long to get the car into his shop, and the car is always read for pick-up when he says it will be ready, and quite often he has it ready even sooner than expected.
Andre is helping me keep the car in shape to get high mileage out of my beloved Odyssy.
The repairs Andre has done for me include:
timing belt
engine bolt replacement
window motor replacement
electrical wiring
transmission fluid replacement
oil changes
and more.
Exiting Andre's shop can be a little difficult because Woodman is so incredibly busy, but Andre always has the car facing the street for me to make exiting easier. I never have to ask.

I found Andre's Auto on Yelp. He has very good reviews, almost too good! I have to say I was not totally satisfied. He put new brakes on my Lexus, but they never felt any different than then ones he replace? I don't even know if I needed brakes! I do know have never let bakes go to the rotor. I always keep great care of my cars. When Andre said my rotors needed replacing, I was shocked! But I had no time to get second opinion. He said my rotors were rusted? After checking with some other mechanics, that might NOT have been the case. Also...Word to the Wise... when going to someone for the first time, make sure they are not using cheap parts. Get the boxes of the parts they use, so you will know! It cant hurt! Ask your mechanic for the old parts he is taking out and replacing. That way you will know if they needed replacing or not! Good rule of thumb. You can not depend 100% on this feedback, but seeing is believing. One of the reasons I was also disappointed is I had ask for my interior light to be checked and or replaced, I don't think he even checked. Andre did put some new windshield wipers on my car, but not correctly.

I have been a client of Andre's Auto Service for almost ten years. During that time Andre has maintained my two aging automobiles. He is truly the most honest, caring auto technician you will ever find. His service and attention to all the details needed to keep your car running are never over looked. Andre also is careful with his prices and never overcharges and the best part is once he services your car it's fixed. I was recommended to Andre by a neighbor and I have over the years sent at least 6 other clients who were also very pleased with his service and they continue to bring their cars for servicing. One more thing I would like to mention, Andre it the perfect person to come to especially if you are a woman who knows little about the mechanics of an automobile or anyone who needs excellent auto servicing. He's patient as he listens to your questions and his answers are easily understood. His honesty and thoughtful concern for his clientele shows in his work and everything he does. I purchased my car from Monza Cars on Ventura Blvd. The car is wonderful, I love it. We've had 5 Audi's and by far this one is the most fun to drive. I took it to my usual dealer in Woodland Hills for brakes, where I have been going for everything for the past 15 years, and it was nonstop of problems from bad workmanship, including trapping the brake sensors in the rotors, leaving grease caps opened. I mean, really? Then there was an over heating problem from a radiator issue and they didn't even check that the fans were turning. The amount of stupid issues that ran amuck due to incompetence at the same dealer repair ran into the thousands. I was sorry that I took it in for brakes. I was also stranded on the freeway multiple times and could not even drive the car as far as the grocery store without it breaking down.. I had had enough of incompetence and the good money after bad at the dealer. Alan at Monza was kind enough to refer me to Andre. I can not say enough good things about Andre. He's thorough, honorable, and very reasonable. He even listened to my scary story by was professional enough not to comment. I highly recommend him and will be going there for all my future service. The dealer in Woodland Hills has lost a good 15 year customer with two Audi's. Thank you Andre :)

Andre is a very nice and honest guy who doesn't lie to you, so he can sell you more parts. I brought my car there for brakes and his worker Russ gave me a ride home. I asked Andre to check my car for other repairs and he said no repairs were needed. We all know that if you ask any mechanic to check for repairs, they always have a long list. Not Andre, very honest.

My wife's Toyota 4Runner overheated and I took it to Andre after reading other reviews here. He's awesome. He called me an hour later explaining the problem and he fixed it within 24 hours. We also had him do the brakes on this car and our other car as well. His prices are extremely fair and he works quickly. Judging by the reviews here and the hours he keeps, he may be the hardest working mechanic in LA. I'm alway terrified of getting screwed when I go to a mechanic but you won't feel that way with Andre. You can just tell he doesn't do business like that. I will go to him as long as I'm in LA.
