We have finally found an honest repair shop. They explained everything we needed in detail. The costs were very fair. We will definately do business with them again.

I took my Honda to this shop a few months ago. I was told due to it "smoking so badly" when they had it on the rack, I needed a new engine. When I asked the owner why it was smoking on the rack, but not when I dropped it off nor when I picked it up, he had no explanation. He simply re-stated I needed a new engine. He offered to get some quotes and call me back. I am still waiting for that call; but it's a moot point since I changed out my ignition wires and all was fine again with the car.

I took my car in to have a mutlipoint inspection done on it. He didn't even charge me anything. He compiled a list for me and gave me advice on which ones I should do first and which ones can wait. He never tried to say anything had to be done right then and there. When I took my car in for him to work on it. It was quick and I never felt pressured. I wish I found him first when I needed my transmission to be worked on lol. Definitely going back to him for everything.

Great auto repair in Simi Valley. Scott is an honest business man with great prices and small town quality.
Recently I took my Expedition in because the brakes were squeaking and I was concerned they might be bad. To my pleasant surprise, Scott informed me they were still 60%. Many mechanics would have taken advantage and tried to get a sale.
If you're considering a mechanic and honesty and value are important to you, I'd recommend Affordable Auto. I know I'll be taking our cars there from now on.

Don't go here. Brought my car in for catalytic converter. Scotty said didn't need one but charged me $800 for super tune up to pass smog test. Car then failed smog test. Brought car back to Scotty, he said now I need new converter and it would be another $800. Didn't offer any deal after I already paid him $800 for nothing. I will not be bringing my car back to Affordable. Don't let this type of highway robbery get you too.

(In a recent conversation with a coworker she shared her hesitation in putting much stock in Yelp! reviews because, "I'm sure a lot of positive reviews are by friends or relatives of the business owners." So, I feel the need to state up-front that no one in my family or my wife's family is related to or has a friendship relationship with the owner or any employee of Affordable Auto.)
In the 12 years we've been taking our cars to Affordable Auto we've never had questionable or bad service. Just the opposite. In fact, we trust them 100%, and that's huge! Reading the bad reviews, I can only say that their experience is the exception--NOT the rule. There have been several times when Affordable Auto went above & beyond what I'd expect from any auto repair business in the way of price and payment, making it possible for us to get our vehicles back on the road. We are forever grateful to the owner for this!!
We no longer live around-the-corner from Affordable Auto, but you can bet we make sure to find a way to get our cars to their shop when they're having issues. My wife & I have happily turned others on to Affordable Auto, and no one has ever been unhappy.
Everyone knows that sickly vulnerable feeling when we have a car acting up and needs to go to the shop, but with Affordable Auto we know what it's like to feel taken care of. I recommend them with my whole heart, and I stand behind this review. They deserve it for being so good to us!!!

We all are cautious when stepping into a shop for automotive repair because frankly, we don't know our cars mechanical make-up and what really needs to be done other than change the oil. When I found Affordable, I found a place that felt comfortable and was not pressuring me.
When I had a major service that needed to be done, I asked what I could wait on and Scotty told me exactly what needed to be done and what could be done over time. Another time that I had to go in and requested to replace the alternator becasue I heard a noise, Scotty made sure to advise that it could go out but if it was still working then why spend the extra money right now? I was a customer for life!!
This is truly a place that takes care of its customers and knows what true customer service and relationships is all about!

paid $98 for an assesment of my AC...fair enough....quoted $517.00 to replace a HOSE that costs $148.92 and sits on top of the engine, (my 12 year old could change it) plus they couldn't get the part for at least a week. So took it to LEGIT autos in Hollywood where they filled it up with freon and it's running great. Even if I need the part they said it would take 24 hours to get it. Affordable....I don't think so....Honest.....doesn't look like it....am I missing something here..??

My parents live in Simi and twice my car needed services when visiting. Affordable Auto Repair was great! They were very fair and honest. On my first visit they replaced my AC unit for less than I was quoted at other shops. For my most recent visit, they replaced all my engine mounts in less than 2 days because my engine almost fell out of my car on the drive up from San Diego. If you live close or are just visiting and your car needs some love, this is the only automotive repair place you need!!

This place bites. The owner bites. Rude. His workers were great though. Very kind and accomodating. Came in at 4:35pm. They close at 5. Im like, cool i made it! Guys told me to ask manager/owner if he'd take my car for an oil change, n i waited for him to talk on the phone for 10min. He comes out and says no. Give me a freakin break. I rush out of work to get here. I made it before 5. If you dont take people in because its "almost 5pm", tell people you close at 430pm. My job closes at 430pm. We take people in until 430pm. Came right next door to jiffy lube. They couldnt be any nicer! Even gave me a discount! Only paid 53 bux for my Land Rover for an oil change, battery terminal cleaning, antifreeze, air in tires, and new brake lights. Gooo to jiffy lube!
