I was driving home in my Nissan Maxima to New York City from Cleveland Ohio on Interstate 80. When I entered Clinton County, Pennsylvania, my car started to lose power. I limped my car to nearest car repair facility. In a few hours, Hillside Service Center replaced my broken alternator with a heavy duty alternator. I received phone calls on the progress of the car repair. The repair bill was fair and the service was professional level. Close to 250 miles from home I was lucky and blessed to find a real automobile technician.

We were stranded last Saturday afternoon trying to get home to MA with no repair shops open within miles. We spend two nights in Lock Haven waiting for Hillside to open up Monday morning. They took the truck in first thing and had us on the road by 10 am. Paid the same price for parts and labor last year with at home mechanic!

Eddie and Ed were a big help when our 2001 van died on Route 80 4 hours from home on Labor Day after hours. It was towed to Hillside and Eddie was able to diagnose the issue first thing the next morning so we could make a decision on how best to get back home. Even though the van was beyond repair, both Ed and Eddie were great to work with. Lock Haven is now the final resting place for our Pontiac Montana but I truly appreciated all of the help father and son gave us.

Forgive me, as it's taken a few months to write this review and the owner and his son's names have slipped my mind.
I was in the beginning stretch of a cross country rode trip when my car started acting funny and the check engine light had turned on. I pulled off the highway and stopped immediately at the first mechanic I could find. They ran the computer to find out that it was the catalytic converter BUT I knew enough to know that just the computer test is not a definite. They guy at the first place I stopped was super pushy (told me I had to make the decision now or they wouldn't get the part), quoted me at over 800 dollars and the other mechanics there were all talking rudely to each other and didn't seem to care about each other or their customers. I got an extremely bad vibe so I looked up a couple places and found Hillside Service center.
I called them up and he eased my mind immediately! He asked if they had done a smoke test or a pressure test to make sure it was the catalytic converter and they had not. He asked me if I could make it to him and he would check all of that for me.
I am so happy I trusted my gut and found Hillside Service center! It did turn out to be the catalytic converter, unfortunately, but he quoted me at a much more reasonable price and he replaced my spark plugs for free. The whole process + labor time took less than a couple hours and I was back on the road heading to California.
At the time, I was scared being alone on a road trip and upset about how much this all was costing. With my nerves all over the place, I found myself crying in the parking lot while trying to figure out funds to afford the work. And I cannot express how grateful I was for the father and son at hillside service center. They made me feel as much at ease as was possible in that moment. He could probably tell I was flustered so while his son worked on the car he made an effort to to have a nice conversation with me. His overt friendliness did not go unnoticed!
These two men are extremely honest, hardworking mechanics and I could tell the second he picked up the phone for me. The waiting room was clean and accommodating. The way they interact with each other and their customers shows that they put love and respect into their work and their business.
I will probably never find myself in Lock Haven, PA or at Hillside again but I'm so grateful that I did that day.
