Just taking some time to give Vic at MB Motors much props. I have been taking my car to Vic for over a year now and the service is always the best. Vic is very professional, courteous, humble and very knowledgable about the automotive business. The work done on my 2006 CLS 500 is top notch and my car is running better than ever. I took my car in for some maintenance work and Vic notified me that an error code indicated my SBC hydraulic unit was defective . Vic advised me that at some point I would need to replace this . Vic notified me that he was sure there was a recall on this part and that he would call the dealer to check this information for me. in the mean time Vic advised me if I had any problems with the brake warning lights to just pull the car over do not attempt to drive it. Flash forward a few days Vic took my car to Mercedez and was given the run around . Essentially they tried to say it was not the whole unit that was faulty ... It was another part within the unit so therefore it did not qualify for the recall. Vic did not give up..., he did his due diligence he stayed on it contacting and consulting with Mercedes people . I was still driving my car with all this information in the back of my mind and sure enough last week on my way to work I heard a strange noise, saw a flashing red message saying stop! Depress brake completely ! Stop. I followed directions and remembered what Vick told me about the SBC unit. I called Vick he knew immediately what the problem was I towed the car to his shop and the rest was history. Vick took the car back to Mercedes dealership ( drove it himself to assess ) presented his evaluation and documentation showing the SBC unit was faulty and therefore covered under warranty. Mercedez concurred with his diagnostuc evaluation and Vic saved the day and also saved me about $2000 if I were to pay for this out of pocket. Just want to say thank you to Vic for going above and beyond and for always looking out for the customer!!! Your the best Vic! Sharon CLS 500

I've been taking my MB to Enrique for years, and so has my son (who has since switched loyalties and has decamped to electric). I trust no one else in all of SoCal with my car. I have been ripped off by dealers and indies so often, I am huge cynic when it comes to car repair and maintenance. DISCLAIMER: Enrique has sold his shop to a new owner. I had only one experience, and Enrique was still there, serving as a consultant during the transition period. After a minor misunderstanding, and Enrique's help in solving a air-con problem, I was satisfied with the result and price. If you have any experience with the new management, and with Enrique now probably gone forever, please post your experience.

During the past couple of months, it is clear that Vic has taken stock of the feedback that I and others have provided regarding our experiences.
I am very pleased to provide this positive update.
My father had over $3,000 worth of work done to his 1991 420SEL in October, 2014. It has become clear during the past few months that the work from October, 2014 was not performed properly - work performed by a Mr. MB Motors sublet/subcontractor. My father was able to have a reasonable discussion with Vic about this on Monday, February, 29, 2016. Yesterday, March 3, Vic informed my father that the defective workmanship has been resolved at no additional charge to my father.
Although we still respectfully disagree about the labor rate and other price increases, the integrity that Vic has demonstrated is truly commendable and is motivating us to take a second look at remaining loyal customers of Mr. MB Motors.
Hats off to Vic and we hope the significant service improvements will continue!

It's such a relief to shake hands with Vic and know that he and his team are honest and thorough. You know when you totally get the sense that a crew REALLY know what they are doing. Vic is super respectful and an excellent communicator. He has always treated us as valued customers even if our car is old. He shows the character of someone you can trust. Vic always gives me the whole picture so that I can fully consider my options. We have a 1999 ML 430 - great pony, but worn by long travels. They did a complete overhaul - eliminating all leaks (Miracle because it had been leaking for years). They fixed things that other mechanics said couldn't be fixed - no more squeaks!) We made the choice to re-invest in this solid horse rather than buy another used car - and we are very happy with our choice (running beautifully for the past six months). We highly recommend Mr MB Motors a positive car health experience.

I used to live in calabasas and got my car serviced here when Enrique was the owner. I went probably about 4 to 5 times over the years. He was always very professional and reasonably priced. More importantly I felt like he could be trusted. Fast forward five years later, my dad was having a problem with mb Laguna niguel. Basically car wouldn't start it was just out of warranty purchased in 2011 but had only 25k miles on it. Dad called mb USA roadside assist and they came out tried to jump the car then charged my dad to change the battery then had it towed to mb Laguna niguel because still wouldn't start. Within a week charges ran up from 1200 to 8000 dollars!!! Anyway, he had no where to turn and so I remembered good old mr mb motors. I found out Enrique retired but Vik had taken over. I remembered vik did a lot of the work on my car before and was glad to hear he was running the show. He was so professional and spent a lot of time outside business hours consulting me and looking at the estimate and emailing me back and forth even though he knew my parents wouldn't be taking their car there because they live 80 miles away. With his guidance my parents got their car back fixed for 1200. It's so rare these days for ppl to spend time helping others when they know they won't get something in return. I cannot thank him enough and i would highly recommend him to anyone!

I was very sad when I found out that Enrique retired after using his mechanic services for 6 years. BUT I'm very glad that he didn't sell his business just to anyone. The new owner Vik is just as trustworthy. I also found out that Vik has been a technician with Mercedes for over 30 years (working in Beverly Hills, Encino) and also been a shop foreman.
I've brought in my 2006 ML350 (139,000 miles) for various issues. The thing that impressed me the most is that he knows a lot about the electronic/computer system of my car. I had an electronic issue in which Enrique and Mercedes of Calabasas could not properly figure out. It wasn't a big issue but annoying as heck. Vik was able to diagnose and fix the problem.
I've brought in my car 3 times now (brakes, oil change, new batteries, electrical, B service) and been happy with his work.

I am extremely impressed with the honesty and integrity that was shown to me by the owner Vik. Matter of fact it was because of the reviews on Yelp, that I decided to go to Mr. MB Motors in the first place.
Let me explain. My daughter was given a well maintained 1999 E320 with about 150K miles on it from her grandfather in the midwest. We had it shipped out here and just had it serviced at the dealership in Encino (a basic Schedule A service). Everything was OK except the protective plate under the engine was corroded and we had it replaced. About a month later, a rear window stops working.. Usually this involves the window regulator and it can be expensive. Not wanting to pay dealership prices, I decided to have it dropped off at Mr. MB Motors. Vik inspected the car and advised me of bigger issues. Parts of the undercarriage
were almost completely rusted out and it was causing the rear tires to wear unevenly. At some point the car frame could break apart because of the corrosion. He advised me that the car is unsafe to drive and that it probably should be totaled. (I guess all that salt on the road in the wintertime can do a lot of damage). He advised me that it would not be worth the expense to replace the window regulator. Instead he propped up the window to keep it from falling down free of charge.
I have never posted a yelp review before, but I felt I needed to in this case. The dealership never informed me that there was massive corrosion which was impacting the integrity of the car frame. The dealership was probably happy to make money on the service. I care more about my daughte's safety than the car. Thank you Vik

I learned of this Mercedes repair place through a referral of someone who has had their MBs repaired here. I brought my car here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was thoroughly delighted with the results. They are honest, thorough and very knowledgeable about the Mercedes cars they work on. They were friendly and blew me away with their expertise. Their prices were below what my local dealer quoted me for the same repairs. Vic (owner) is GREAT! They get a AAA+++ as far as I am concerned. Jeff F.

So sad to hear he is now retiring (but so happy for him!) however, as you would imagine someone of his character doing he has found the perfect person to take over his business (Vic) in order to continue providing the best service a Mercedes owner could hope to find.

To all owners of Mercedes Benz vehicles in the greater Los Angeles and particularly the San Fernando Valley, Mr. MB Motors is the best. The business was owned and operated by Enrique who recently passed it on to Vic, who has a long career in dealings with Mercedes Benz vehicles. If you are looking for an honest, fair and quality conscious repair shop, look no further. These guys only deal with Mercedes. I recently purchased an X5 BMW and still hold on to two E-Class cars and when I told Vic, he said they only deal with Mercedes.
I like so many owners have had my bad experiences with the Mercedes Dealers and several Independent shops such as Monarch Motors, Exclusive German Repair, Mercedes Benz Calabasas and others and realized I was getting screwed-high prices, trumped up service needs, stuff that the cars didn't need and so I searched Benzworld for postings of the best shops in the Los Angeles area that led me to Mr. MB.

I have had my cars serviced by Enrique at Mr. MB Motors for 20 years. He is very knowledgeable and fair beyond ones imagination. I have sent several people to him and they remain dedicated customers. In all the years I have used his services not once have I felt that he did not give me an accurate assessment of what the problem was with my car. He always does what is needed to complete the repair but never gives you a litany of reasons to do more work that is not immediately needed.
Simply he is the best independent mechanic I have ever worked with.

At the time I began to trust my car to Enrique, I was living in Westlake Village. My local mechanic went belly up and i was at a loss to find one I could trust..
I am sure that many of you can relate to what I have to say.
In prior years I had used both local MB Dealer, who it turned out had a service writerr who was so crooked the dealer had to fire her, among other things, for driving clients' vehicles (only good ones like SL, etc) on weekends. I had been soaked often by them for minor repairs.
I then frequented an indy MB repair shop. But during one routine visit, they told me that the timing chain was in need of replacement. For some reason (I am a mechanical ignoramus) I did not believe them (they were unable - or unwilling - to fix an oil leak after numerous visits).
So, I took my car to another shop. That new shop told me that the timing chain was fine, and there was no way the prior shop could have known whether it had failed. I began to use him; he was a good mechanic, and honest; but, as I said, he went bust.
At the time, my son was a turbodiesel fanatic ('82 300SD) and swore by Enrique, who was willing to make repairs on a service only basis. I needed brakes at the time, and was quoted an outrageous amount by a local brake/tire shop. I asked my son to get a quote from Enrique to do the brake job, parts and labor, and was quoted a price which seemed more than fair. Thus began my reliance on Mr. MB Motors.
That was sometime in '05, and have used Enrique ever since.
Since then, I have moved to Orange County, and despite the commute and the pain it is to drive into the valley, I still do not trust anyone else to work on my car.
Last August I passed 200,000 miles and I swear to heaven, my car ('99 E320 wagon), looks and runs and rides like new.
Now, I have to offer an opinion on the poor reviews posted here.
There is a suspicious similarity to all of them - it is amazing how knowledgeable and detail rich they all are. Almost like they have all been written by the same person, a person with a deep understanding of car repair. In one of the posts, the reviewer states not once, but twice, how much they like Enrique. With friends like that, ie, damning with faint praise, one does not need enemies.
One last thing. A few years ago, my car was missing - it would just sort of erratically burp. Note the word, "erratic," that is the operative one. As known by one and all, erratically operating mechanical parts are a bitch to find. Enrique could not find the cause, and recommended replacing the spark plug wires. Well, that did not do the trick.
However, once I was stopped on a hot day, waiting for someone while the engine idled with the air con running. After a few minutes, the engine burped a few times and then cut out.
I brought my car to Enrique, explained the problem and left it with him. I then left for an extended trip to Hawaii. ,
A few days later he called me in Honolulu, and told me that he still couldn't find the problem. I reminded him that he needed to repeat my experience, idle the car in the sun with the air con running. Ten minutes later he called me, and problem solved. The culprit was the fuel pump.
I mention the latter problem, because I think that Enrique is both conscientious and honest and hard-working, and does his best to take care of his customers. But, he is not a magician, and he cannot work miracles.

After 90k on my Benzo, Enrique at MR MB is still keeping my Merc on the road. An example of his honesty was with one of my last visits. He ordered a new window regulator for my window (at my request).
When I finally brought my Merc in, he took a look at the door/window and told me that it was just a unfastened piece of metal in the door that was preventing my window from going all the way up or down.
The regulator was $300 and I know that I would have never know had Enrique chosen to go to the dark side. He only ended up charging me for 1 hour of labor instead at $50 (vs. $125 per hour at the dealer).

I've been meaning to write this for a while. Months ago my 34 year old 240D started experiencing transmission problems. I had been referred here by another mechanic awhile back and so when the transmission finally went out completely I had the car towed here. My son and I (I had given the car to him) sat down with Enrique to go over possible outcomes. Replacing the transmission ($1500 ballpark) was just one unappealing option. We left the car that Friday for diagnosis and crossed our fingers, though it didn't look good. Enrique started ringing my phone Saturday. Turns out it was just some water hose? leading into the transmission that was causing the problem! The whole repair cost about $200. But the best part was how excited and happy Enrique was to give us the good news. Though there are good, honest mechanics in this world they are few and far between. Enrique is one of the good guys. The only bad thing is he only works on Mercedes!! But on those he is an expert:-)

Once again, Enrique didn't disappoint. I had the "luck" of having to get my car towed to his place, and I really thought that that might be the last ride for my good ol' car. Fortunately, Enrique identified the problems, had his team fix the most important issue, and soon after I was able to drive away in my car like nothing happened. Amazing experience especially since I thought that I might have to shop for a car this weekend. I can't recommend Enrique & his team more!

It's always nerve wrecking when that check engine light goes on and then you have to wonder how much is this repair going to cost me. I was a frequent visitor to another Independent Mercedes shop in the Valley and had decent service from them, however I never really knew what they were fixing or how they went about it. They don't give you a full diagnosis of the issue.
Anyways on to Enrique, he is upfront and fair. He will bring you in to show you the issue and he will tell you when and when you shouldn't repair a part. I had a tire alignment done at another shop and they had said my shocks were bleeding badly and I needed to fix them. I asked Enrique to check it out and he told me straight off they would need to be replaced eventually, but I still had quite a bit of mileage before I needed to replace them. I trusted this since I didn't notice any difference from my ride condition.
His prices are fair and definitely cheaper than any dealer. My only gripe is I wish he was closer to where I lived, but I'm more than willing to drive the 30+miles to get my mercedes serviced here.

I like Enrique, I really do. I have had work done by him over a few years now after reading reviews about him on a Mercedes forum website. Last year I took my car to Mr MB motors as it was running incredibly rough. Enrique said he tried a few things but that the wiring harness was shot and had to be replaced. The part alone is $1,300. I parked the car for months. Recently I was in position to get it fixed. I was going to send the car to Mr MB Motors and got on the internet to get the address. I saw the low ratings for MB Motors and decided to send my car to a different Mechanic (Sehmi Motors) in West LA. Boy am I glad that I did. The wiring harness was fine. The car needed a complete tune up with new coils, but not a wiring harness. I ended up paying far less that I was quoted here.
This pains me to write, as I said I really like Enrique. He has been nice to me. Not sure what is going on. I

I had two jobs done by Enrique, both of them overpriced. On the third item described below, he attempted to diagnose an error code - but his diagnosis was incorrect.
The first job he did was to replace a sensor under the front hood. It took only a few minutes to replace and he charged me $60 cash. He said that he would charge me more if I wanted a receipt. It sounds to me like this Enrique is not paying his taxes and in any event - doesn't want to provide a receipt for the parts/labor sold to the customer. I later learned that the dealer price on the part is around $20, so Enrique's price of $60 was not a 'great deal' or anything like that. Enrique claimed that his printer was broken and this was the reason why he was unable to provide a receipt / invoice as required by law. It was only $60 so no huge deal.
The second job he did was brake pads. He did not write me an estimate or tell me how much it would be. I should have asked instead of assuming and hoping that he would be fair. He gouged me with the Dealer price for pads and labor. He claimed that he got the pads 'from the Dealer' which I doubt is true - but it's true that he charged me Dealer price. Enrique threw a little temper tantrum when I questioned which brake pads he used. Again, the total price was around $200 so not a huge deal.
The third item was an error code that Enrique incorrectly diagnosed. He told me it needed an EGR and quoted me higher than Dealer price for the part. He said that the labor is 'not much' but we don't really know what that means. I took it to another mechanic on the Westside and he replaced the catalytic converter which solved the problem. There was nothing wrong with the EGR as Enrique suggested.
Based on all of the above experiences, I will not be returning to Mr. MB Motors and cannot recommend his shop. I notice that the shop is not very busy which is a telling sign that he lacks a loyal customer base.

I went Mr MB Motors today and have to say Enrique was a very honest and sincere man. I was experiencing some engine problems when accelerating. Me and a friend had a hunch that it was the ignition system, but were not sure. Earlier I took my car to Auto Stieigler and they quoted me for $1600 to replace my catalytic converts and ignition wires. This other place wanted to charge me $1200 to replace all my electronics. Both of them made me wait over an hour. Then I went to Mr MB Motors in Tarzana and he immediately diagnosed the problem as a faulty spark plug or coil spring. When he popped my hood the first thing he asked was if I had the engine compartment cleaned recently, which I did when I detailed my car. He then looked at my spark plugs and noticed that the coils were knocked loose when the engine bay was cleaned. All he did was reconnect my coil spring with the spark plug which only took a few mins. You want to know how much he charged? $40. That's right, $40 and I was on my way and the car felt perfect. And the only reason he charged me $40 was because he also spent time diagnosing my car and I insisted I should pay something. I can only speak from personal experience, but I was very pleased to have taken my car there and am a loyal customer as of now.

Enrique has taken care of our 1994 E420 for about three years now, handling both routine maintenance and surprises. We have found him to be knowledgeable, honest and fair. He is just as likely to tell us to postpone fixing something minor as he is to suggest a pre-emptive repair, and he's always patient and clear when explaining what needs to be done and why. Daily-driving a twenty-year-old classic can be stressful at times but at least we know we won't be taken advantage of at the mechanic.

i expected a full leakdown/compression.. but no.. not even a single computer scan.. i had a check engine light on from a "smog pump" being disconnected by the previous owner, but i had gotten it smogged as i have friends in the smog business..
mr.mb said oh.. yeah fi you got your smog papers don't worry about it..
i asked him to about my wiring harness and stuff, he said no don't worry about that eiher..
he did do an "eye inspection" and when i told him to test drive he said no, until i kept asking one of his employees, who told me some more issues..
he tells me i don't need spark plugs when my wires/plugs had NO spark, as he told me it was expensive and not important..
yet he wants to charge me $40 for an air filter? which the oem price was 13$ online!!!
and i brought my own parts in, and was still charged..
although his employee carlos is very good, they are not through.. i had a window washer tank fluid light, as i had a crack in it and there was no window washing fluid..
his employee goes aww man i hate seeing lights on classics and pulls the sensor out, and tells me not to worry about it..
i had about an hour of labor, the most half assed inspection i've ever seen, an oil change, and was charged $300!!!! i went around and asked my friends and other mercedes shops.. it was a 120$ job with parts, at most 150$.
he gave me the sitdown and the many details AFTER i paid.. and i paid, because he kept saying he'd discount me, and would not give me the price, but i knew it was critical, and wanted a professional opinion or professionally done.. but after i paid, he tells me i need to do this and that, and that the car has mechanical potential, and i should keep it, but i should ONLY go to him as he will give me good prices.
i went to him because of the rave reviews on many forums, but nope.. turns out hes another scam... benzworld, peachparts, etc
my car now? its a 1993 300CE sportline thats sitting in the garage DEAD/STALLING, cause the wire harness, ETA, and sparkplugs/fuel filter need work because my mechanic said "no its fine, just do it next time"
i give him 2 stars, because he does have mercedes knowledge, even though he is a scam.

Arthut A. Sorry to hear about your experience.
Sounds like your vehicle had some deferred maintenance issues. New discoveries will often be made during every repair. Unfortunately these Issues only surface once the technician is well into the repair and often cannot be assumed or projected beforehand.
I have a strong technical automotive background and a better understanding of auto mechanics than many shops. Unfortunately I often do not have the time to perform many of the services myself.
I have used Enrique of Mr MB Motors for over 7 years. Before Mr MB I spent many years trying various other Mercedes technicians throughout the Los Angeles area. Enrique is honest, experienced, straight forward and a pleasure to do business with. He is always open and is willing to share all of his recommended repairs in detail. No BS, no extras, well priced and nothing but honest opinions on recommended repairs.
I highly recommend him.

Enrique is not the typical mechanic. He is honest, friendly, affordable and quick. I cannot believe the bad reviews he has. I would recommend anyone with a Mercedes to go to him. Honestly, my family buys Mercedes because we know how much money we will save with going to Enrique instead of getting ripped off at a dealership. I have taken 4 of my benz's to him. Each time we have to get something replaced, he will show us what is wrong with it, show us that he took the "broken/used" part out and show us that he replaced it. One time, he replaced my brake pads and showed me how it was metal to metal and I almost died driving with like 1% left. Yikes! Enrique has become a family friend and we hope he never retires.

This guy Enrique is as honest as they make them period ,
which is rare for a car mechanic let alone a Mercedes car mechanic .
Enrique is reasonable and fair and wont do any unnecessary repairs , where do you ever find that ? He talks you out of wasting money on repairs that arent needed . He wont let you throw money away . I find this quality unreal but its true .
I have been lucky to get referred to him after getting robbed by the dealer too many times .
I have a 2000 S 500 sedan and a 1999 SL500 that he services and repairs on a regular basis and when I get the bill instead of being shocked and panicked by the dealers bill , I am relieved he is so reasonably priced . He is a rare find these days .
This guy knows his stuff and is happy to have customers unlike the dealer that treats everyone like a cash register . I will never go to the dealer EVER AGAIN as long as there is Enrique .
I highly recommend him . This is my first posting because I love this guys work ethics , I took the time to actually voice my opinion . I drive from Hollywood Hills to Reseda to go there . While its a 30 min drive its so well worth it in terms of what he saves me even if just an oil change .

I have been going here since I bought my first Mercedes in 2002. Enrique is the most honest, fair, and skillful mechanic I have ever run into. I will recommend this shop to anyone with a Mercedes. My family and friends (the ones that own Mercedes') are all clients. The ones that don't own Mercedes wish they did, just to have a trustworthy mechanic like Enrique working on their car. He has been working on Mercedes since the 1960's, if you would like to read more reviews check this link:

Well I read all the forums and there were years of raves about Enrique's fairness and his skills at his Reseda Blvd Mercedes shop in Tarzana. And, in the beginning, it was true. He would do little things, like change the poorly working antenna with a better one and not charge for it, transport your car to a test only smog place and give the car a tune up several hundred dollars less than most Mercvedes shop. And he is a genuinely nice guy. But since I first got the car he would egg me on about getting the transmission rebuilt and he would do it for a good price: $1500. So after a year or two, when the car begin stalling at traffic lights, I sprung for the transmission rebuild against my families' wishes. Afterall this was a car with more than 200,000 miles and 20 years old. But I believed it would make it a better driver and Enrique assured me it was worth it as the engine was Mercedes' best. But the phone call before I was to pick up the car said that he discovered other problems and that there would be additional $1000 to the cost. And it actually was $2600. And on the way home the car stalled at a traffic light! Back to Mr. MB Motors and he couldn't find the answer to the stalling problem. Not for a year and a half. It certainly had nothing to do with the transmission. A neighborhood mechanic changed the fuel filter and that seemed to work for a few months. Finally when it was time to smog the car, it went back to Mr. MB. When I picked it up after $327 worth of "tuning" he sat me down and said that the car couldn't pass a smog and that a cat converter may not even help and that the engine leaks oil and the wiring harness might have to be replaced and that I should cut my losses and get rid of it. Am I the only customer who took a beatiing at Mr. MB Motors of Tarzana? Mordecai F.

Took my classic car in because it was running rich. I read some reviews on
and they spoke highly of Enrique. I was ripped off and I couldn't believe he had no clue what Crane Ignition was. I was amazed on how he never tuned the car and how it still left the garage running rich. I left and swore never ever to go back. HE has very short conversations when it comes to detailing your car problems but very lengthy ones after you pay. My husband works on cars but knew little about mechanical fuel injection on 70's MB's. Now I know that he enjoys ripping enough people off so that its not necessary FOR YOU TO RETURN back to him for service. Smart man but I hope the internet and reviews warns people out there about people like Enrique. I used to take my car to Goodfellows on the corner of Roscoe and De Soto(canoga park). The shop closed down a few years ago. He was very precise and pretty much knew classics like the palm of his hand. Please read the reviews but i warn you DONT GO TO MR. MB

Arthur A...is right on the money with this guy. I had a crank engine sensor that needed to be replaced and I took it to MR MB, because it's close to my house. They fixed it for a very reasonable price too. Then strangely enough...something else happened to my car and I took it to Enrique to see what was wrong. He had some other mechanic Vincent from Mercedes Calabasas, look at it and they said it was the master cylinder pump and that it would cost around $1,500., to get it fixed. I thought it was very strange for Enrique to have this other mechanic come down to look at my car. I took it to J M Motorsports in Studio City for a second opinion...turned out it wasn't the master cylinder pump at all. It was something else and it was under warranty. Thank God, I gave it more thought and took it to someone else for a second opinion. Which they fixed it for free because like I said...it was under warranty. I gave the owner $100., tip for his honesty and was jumping with joy. This guy Enrique might have treated other people okay but him and his buddy Vincent, was going to rip me off. And I would put my hand on a stack of Bibles that this is true. If something doesn't feel right...trust your instincts and get a second opinion.
