I'm thrilled to say that my recent brake repair experience on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra was awesome. These guys really know how to treat their customers!
I found Brodie's here on Yelp when I was looking up places to get my brakes done because they were getting pretty sketchy sounding. I requested quotes and ended up emailing with David, who took great care of me and my car. I dropped my car off in the morning and it was done around 4. As I had requested, they called me with a quote before doing any repairs. I was so worried that this was going to be an expensive repair, but they got my brakes taken care of for $305 out the door. (and I could have had both from and back done for just over $600)
I can't even say how happy I am to have discovered this place. My brakes are so much better now and I can actually drive my car normally now. I'll be back when I need more work done on my car.

Honestly the best place to take your car in town. They give you honest feedback and don't try to sell you unnecessary things. They listen to your concerns and ease your mind. They explain what they are doing and why.

Amazing! Estimated time is REALLY the estimated time!
I just got back from Brodie's and it was fantastic! Yesterday we found a nail in our tire and of course it's after 8pm! I searched on yelp and found Brodie's. This morning I called right when they opened (8am) and someone answered on the first try! I made an appointment for 1:30 that same day. When I asked for an estimate on time, I was told 30 minutes.
My rep was JOHN. He was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about cars which made me feel comfortable.
Less than 30 minutes later and my car is ready! Holy cow, I am impressed! It was only $26 as well.
I would highly recommend this place and will be coming here when I need new tires.
It's nice to have an accurate estimate on waiting time for a change!
My only con was it was hard to find a place to park and it's a little complicated pulling in and out of the small parking lot. I ended up parking at the tire shop next door (whoops!).

I had a set of faulty tires fall to pieces on the freeway away from home, and these guys were the only place in the free-towing range who were able to look at a new car right away. (I didn't know it was the tires at first; I just knew that the car was rattling and shaking like it was about to explode.) When I called they said they'd have a look and go from there. Turned out the answer was a simpler fix than I'd expected, and they gave my car the "NASCAR treatment" -- got everything fixed up in no time flat, with great customer service to boot!
When I was waiting for the tow truck, I looked these guys up. "Wow, 5 stars and 40 reviews! These guys sound like they know what they're doing!" They do indeed.

BEWARE !!! Rip-off!!!!!
Such a bummer. I've been using this garage for 4 years, 3 different vehicles. Tried to charge me $700 for a water pump, plus $150 for an "estimate".... Additional to the repair. I paid the estimate, towed it out to another garage- paid $230 for the new water pump. Brought my receipts back to Brodie's and asked for a $150 (refund for their "estimate" charge) credit towards future work (I figured this had to be a mistake) there. They declined. I understand that it's the owner that did this. I even wrote him a letter. No response.

I brought my truck in for a simple smog related repair. They assured me they would figure it out. They improperly diagnosed the issue and parked it outside for a week doing nothing and it was completely filthy, of course they charged me for it. I wouldn't trust this incompetent band of thieves to check my tire pressure. don't waste your money and go to a better shop. Only giving them a star because I can't post this without rating them.

The day before my road trip home my coolant light goes on to warn me of low levels. I dragged my 3 little kids around looking for a place that carries coolant specific to my car. I went into Brodie's where one of the guys offers to check, then fills it up. When I went to pay he waved me off with a smile and a "No charge!".
Customer service like this is what makes me a loyal and returning customer. I don't know if it was the Christmas spirit, or just kindness, but small acts like this are appreciated (and good business).

Nothing like your front drivers side tire just exploding on lakeville on a Wednesday night commute home...pure joy!
Getting up early on Thursday to call around for quotes on tires I yelped Brodie's tires and breaks and got a hold of David, what a truly refreshing experience not only was David nice professional he did not rush me with all of my tire buying questions.
David told me on the phone to call around and if he was a good deal to call him back before 10 AM and he would order my tires and have them installed the same day. I did call around and since Brodie's tires were so pleasant on the phone and their prices were reasonable I decided that I would go there. I dropped my car and met David he was once again very professional and informational about the tires I was purchasing I was also able to get my oil changed while they were changing my tires. Overall I would recommend Brodie's tires and Breaks and especially David it was nice of him to welcome me to their tire family!

Started coming here after several recommendations from some friends and since another large shop in town really tried to put one over on me awhile ago I have been a long time customer of Brodie's since. They work on all my vehicles including my diesel. They are honest and I can't recount the amount of times I have come in with what I thought was a problem and after a bit, they come back with either less than what I expected or no charge as it was a simple fix.

Aside from my recent visit, I have used Brodie's Tire & Brake in the past and find them to be professional, straight forward and competitively priced. Aside from our own vehicles, I typically buy tires for my grandkids and other young family members... It's my contribution to keep them safe. Although McLea's Tire and Automotive Service was my primary tire service for many years, their failure to stand behind their purchase offer to provide free flat repair (see Yelp posting) caused me to rethink my preferred service.
On this occasion(1/3/15) I worked with Dave who was straightforward, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I bought four new tires for my granddaughter's Ford Explorer and had the front-end aligned, Dave even worked out a tire price match to earn the business. Brodie's also offered free tire rotation "and balancing" every 5k miles and a onetime flat repair. Tires for my vehicles and the kids SUV's are not cheap, so when I receive assurances of future service (i.e. free tire rotation & flat repair) to earn my business and support the tires bought, the integrity of that assurance is important and gives me comfort knowing these kids are taken care of.

We have been going to Brodie's since we moved to Petaluma 4 years ago. The service has always been great at a fair price. We had several older cars so saw them a lot. On a monthly basis!!
Our most recent experience was buying rims for my daughters truck - Dave helps us with the selection process, shows us pictures, told us about websites that show the rims on your truck, there was no pressure, it was important to him that she got the right ones. It was a great experience for us but especially for my daughter - it can be intimidating for a young lady to deal with car related issues. Now she has been there several times on her own with her old truck and they treated her great but this was a harder decision as opposed to it is broken so it had to be fixed. Everyone that works there has treated us great and I highly recommend them. B

Brodie's Tire & Brake (now Automotive) are trustworthy and honest. I took my 2006 Mustang there after Novato Ford told me I needed tie rods and ball joints replaced and my Mustang was only at 30,000 miles! I didn't tell them why but asked them to do the usual oil change and to check the tie rods and ball joints. When I came to pick up my car, they said they printed out Ford specs for tie rods and ball joints and my car it was totally within spec. I then told them the story about how the Novato Ford dealer tried to con me. Fortunately, I know that tie rods and ball joints don't normally go out at 30,000 miles. The staff at Brodie's have been there forever which I believe is a really good sign that there is not a lot of turnover. I highly recommend this business.

Finding a reliable, HONEST place is sometimes difficult. I've been taking my Honda to them for all 168K miles and with their efforts, I'll keep bringing it to them for the next 168k.
They are timely, efficient, and communicate nicely. They inform of concerns and make recommendations, that are timely, but not made just for the sake of it

I have been bringing my cars and trucks to Brodie's for years, on the referral of a friend. Gary and his staff have been very honest, helpful and obliging. They had spent weeks trying to figure out the problem with one of my cars that even the dealership couldn't figure out. They eventually found the issue and corrected it - never charging me for many of the hours they dedicated to attempting to find the problem. This was something the dealership was certainly not willing to do.
In 2007, I purchased a new car from the above mentioned dealership and they were hellbent on selling me an extended warranty - which I did purchase for the coverage it would provide me on the computers in these new cars. The following year I got a divorce and took my maiden name back. I was bringing this car to the dealership for servicing and had more important things on my mind than the warranty. However, on every work order it clearly stated that I had a warranty and it showed it's effective date and expiration date. When I recently brought the car to the dealership, they told me I needed some extensive and expensive work done on it. They never mentioned the warranty or what it would cover, nor did they look into this warranty that they pushed so hard to sell me.
I decided to bring the car to Brodie's for a second opinion and the folks at Brodie's took the extra step of contacting the warranty company and letting me know that the work was covered under my warranty. They saved me a couple thousand dollars by setting up the claim and then doing the work in a timely and efficient manner. They also told me that my warranty covered a rental car while the work was being done. This is something that the dealership NEVER took the time to do. When I questioned them, they said the warranty was in my ex-husbands name and the claims were being rejected. They never informed me of this so I could change the name on it, yet Brodie's did. I was able to correct the issue with the warranty company and will now bring all my vehicles to Brodie's, regardless of what I am told by a dealership regarding warranties only covering work performed at a dealership.
Furthermore, I will continue to recommend Brodie's to any and everyone I know that has a car or motor vehicle ( which is mostly everyone over 16). Thanks for going the extra mile and exceeding run of the mill customer service. You guys are stellar, upstanding folks and continue to prove that over and over again.

This is my review of Brodie's Tire & Brake. I was in need of a smog test for registration purposes. I first found their coupon on line along with several other smog test companies that had coupons. I called all the shops and I eliminated the companies one-by-one. It was now down to two companies, the other will remain nameless. When I called Brodie's, the man on the phone sounded like he knew what he was talking about; so, based on our conversation and the price, which was in the ballpark, I decided to give them a try, this would be my first time at Brodie's. Several days later, I arrived at Brodie's for my smog check appointment, walked in, and met with the man behind the counter (same man I spoke to on the phone) was greeted nicely, polite, good communication, answered my questions, typed up my paper work; before signing the work order, the man behind the counter did mention that these documents were for the smog test and that if anything was found out of the ordinary that it would need to be addressed, which I felt was adequate for me; but, I felt there could have been a little more explanation of the details of the work order/contract. Ten minutes later, my vehicle was in the shop being tested, I actually stood out side the shop door and watched the man work on my car; I everything that he was doing, and in my opinion he did everything right. The mechanic looked and acted professional, didn't skip a beat, got in there and just did the job right. In about ten to fifteen minutes, he was all done. My truck passed fine.
I would have to say that I am skeptical about all repair shops, doesn't matter to me how popular they are or how many advertisements they have. For Brodie's to get five stars from me means that I trust them and I am very impressed with most of the people at Brodie's and I realize that one star more or less can make a difference to a business's success. For instance, the other company that I was considering has a similar score and if Brodie's had one less star I would not have considered them or at least I would have had my doubts. So, I am pleased to give Brodie's Tire and Automotive five stars and would recommend them to anyone, including my mom.
One last note; I like the website too.
SECOND TIME AROUND 07/21/2016:
I am naturally a skeptic and I have to say Brodies has alleviated any doubts that I have had about them; it is a nice place, professional employees, decent prices and good service. This was my second smog check with them and they did it as well as last time.
Another note: my mom went in last month and got the same professional service that I got.

I was referred here by my brothers girlfriend whose family has been going for years. Everything she said was true.
I first called to ask some questions about my car and they were very informative and I didn't feel rushed. I then took my car in for a consultation knowing my car needed a lot of work! They came back with their findings and I was not surprised. Because I am on a budget, they helped me prioritize what needed to be done immediately without being persistent that it all needed to be done at once. They were never pushy or tried to add on "extra" work to my car.
I made an appointment to get my tires done first. They did it while I waited which took at most an hour. Their prices for tires was the lowest I had found. I am very satisfied with the result.
Chad is very personable and helped me plan what should be next. I will always drive from Marin to their shop. I am a customer for life now. Its hard to find a shop/mechanic that doesn't take advantage of females and are customer oriented.

This place is absolutely wonderful! As a college student I've been struggling to find a mechanic in the area that would not take advantage of me and my lack of knowledge in this field, after a long search I found Brodie's! I needed 4 new tires and 2 new front struts for my 2001 Hyundai Elantra, along with some technical problems I had (all windows but drivers would not go down and the cigarette lighter did not work) so I called to get an estimate before making an appointment. When I told David that I was from San Mateo county and had previously gone into a mechanic and got quoted $1,500, he automatically assured me that they could give me a better deal. At the end of the appointment my total came to $1,029. I obviously was a very very happy customer at this point and became even happier when David mentioned they fixed my windows and cigarette lighter at no extra cost! This will definitely be my new automotive care family for when I'm in the area and can't imagine being any happier with any other mechanic in the area. =)

My most recent experience was not the best. In the past we could trust Brodie's to do quality work but things seem to have slipped there. A simple repair of a flat tire took hours and then the spare was just left in the back of the vehicle rather than be reinstalled under the car. Not the worst of experiences but not the best either.

Excellent experience with Dave at Brodies. It could have been a bad deal for me but they turned out to honest, thorough and easy to work with. My Jeep broke down on highway 101 near Petaluma. AAA towed my car to Brodies because the driver had found them to be a good/reliable repair shop in the area - and it was Saturday afternoon near closing time. I was concewned that I would be at a severe disadvantage in not knowing the area. Dave was very helpful in diagnosing the problem and offering the fix. Although they couldn't do the lengthy repair needed on the spot they were able to get the parts and complete the job first thing Monday morning. I did have to drive back up on Monday to pick up the car - but the job was done just as quoted. Only downside is I wish they were closer to my home so I could use them again.

I would also never take either of my cars anywhere else. I have a mom mobile and a sports car. This isn't just a tire and brake shop. They do everything. And they are HONEST. I have one car with over 100,000 on it that runs like new due to the care and quality service I have received at Brodies. And my faster car which has a tendancy to need tires because I drive it like I stole it ROCKS because of the help from the guys at Brodies. I can't help it, I just keep running into things. I don't fix cars, I don't understand them, and I don't want to get ripped off. I NEVER have to worry about that at Brodies. They are so good I even brought them cookies. And I don't even like people! But this group is special.
Oh, and Mike is wickedly cool. And sure Ben isn't exactly hard on the eyeballs....but seriously??? Have you seen the guys in the shop??? Makes me yearn for younger days....
All joking aside, great shop, great service,QUALITY work ,FAIR PRICING. I drive my most valuable posessions in my car (my family) I don't want half a job, I want the RIGHT job.

I would never take my car anywhere else.
Seriously, if I had my car in the city and it wouldn't start, I'd wait till the weekend, get it jumped and then drive that sucker to Brodie's just so they could fix it. And I'd be damned if I let any one else touch my car for my annual.
These guys are living proof that loyalty and good relationship pays. My mom knows one of the guys that worked there when I was growing up so it just kinda of fell into place that my entire family goes to them. Mike is awesome and Ben is super cute. But still they are great mechanics besides being great guys.
So here's the story. I took my car in for it's 100k tune up that ended up coming out to $800 (had other stuff done too, don't remember what). 3 weeks later something busted. I took my poor baby in freaking out about cost as I was unemployed. They had this car for a good two days before they figured out what was wrong with it. First they thought it was the alternator so they replaced that and it still wasn't working properly. Then they figured out it was something in the computer (in a Honda? Fuck). I say cool whatever, just please fix it and give me the bill so I can get on with my heartattack.
They spent easily 6 hours diagnosing my car and DIDN'T CHARGE ME FOR THE LABOR. I LOOOOOOOOVE YOU! Not only that but they took out the new alternator and put the old one back in and didn't charge me for that since technically it wasn't the problem.
If I have to go into credit card debt over a piece of metal that I hate having to maintain, I'm glad it's going to them. So far the car has been running fine even though it will soon be a non moving vechicle. I'm a little sad about that. Not because I won't have my car. I hate driving. I'm sad because I won't be seeing Ben's cute face anymore :(

I realized I had a bad tire today at about 2:15 pm. Looked up tire repair on Yelp and saw that Brodie's is fairly close to my house but they close at 3 pm on Saturdays. I called and asked if they could help me today and they said if I could get there in about 10 minutes they'd take a look. I hopped in the car and headed out. I got there at 2:40 pm. There were several guys working on cars but one approached me right away to see what I needed. I explained I had a bad tire - by this time it was all but flat and he didn't even look at the clock, he immediately said, 'ok, pull it in'. I was thrilled! Then, to make matters better, I went into the office where I found comfortable seating and a very nice flat screen tv showing the SF Giants game! I sat down to watch and after just a few innings they told me I was all set to go. $26.00 was the charge. Unbelievable! What could have really been a day buster for me turned out to be an actual pleasure. I will definitely go back to Brodie's for any tire or brake issue!

A wonderful pot-hole in Petaluma destroyed my rim and tire on my Acura TL. The cost for a new rim was over $500.00. John, at Brodie's, searched E-Bay and called me with a new rim for $129.00. They also gave me a great deal on a tire to replace the ruined tire as well. They didn't have to give that kind of service but they did! I am a customer for life now.

best in town, hands down. Also like Jay and Bills, but these guys are more available, and very honest, helpful and looking out trying to keep families safe. Love them.

My first visit to Brodie's was all it took to commit my full allegiance. I have an older European-model car that I have always had serviced at the dealership....just to keep it "in the family." What a mistake! The dealership gave me a $1200 estimate for the latest issue and I decided to finally take a chance on going elsewhere. Ben was my service manager at Brodie's and he was outstanding! Responsive, accommodating, and thorough, he went over every detail with me. He offered options and was straightforward with opinions, but I never felt pressure. He said "we're both here for the same reason, to get your car fixed as inexpensively as possible." A day later I was driving away for less than $400 and I felt incredibly well-served. (Remember that $1200 estimate I mentioned earlier?! ) I feel more confident than I ever had about car repairs, thanks to Brodie's. First class all the way around!
