Its great to be at a place where the proprietor himself drives a ten-year-old car I have to," says Dave; Its the only way I can park in the front. Otherwise, people keep hitting it. And its always the newer more expensive cars! Because Dave understands what its really like to drive a car on the crowded roads of Southwest Michigan an area with NO viable public transportation I felt a lot better about leaving my car (an eight-year-old) in the care of his establishment. In the beginning: someone hit-and-ran my parked car in the Wayne State University area of Detroit two years ago (bumper, rear quarter panel). A watching neighbor left their information on my car. I pursued the claim against the driver and had my car repaired at a place at the corner of Inkster and Michigan and for the next two years I had no idea it was an inferior repair as the Berkley Collision called it until someone else hit in my car in the same spot on the same block, two year later! This is all probably due to the angle parking on the street. Neighbors took pictures of the damage and described the car to me but the silver lining was that the young driver that hit me had the integrity to leave her name and number. Her mother, who works in some capacity for the Berkley police department and whose husband is a police officer there, persuaded me to have it repaired at a reliable place that the BPD does a lot of business with, she said. So thats how I found myself at Berkley Collision, and boy did they make me happy! Why? Because even though they could never promise anything I cant promise is Daves mantra my car was still ready two days earlier than they said they would be, and it matched the older paint perfectly, and they were able to close the gap separating the quarter panel from the bumper (the earlier repair was re-opened during the second accident) significantly. Still taking it in the end I was hit again! On the same street in THE SAME SPOT; it must have been on the day I was moving out of the WSU area (thank God)! But this one was such a light bump that only Daves hand across the bumper could detect that it was hit. I thought the repair they had done to the quarter panel had come lose and didnt know it had been caused by a THIRD bumper hit until Dave told me. This time (for the first time ever at any collision shop) they took me inside the sacred chamber and showed me my car disassembled. The first repair place had bonded the plastic bumper to the metal quarter-panel clip, in what the repair technician at Berkley Collision termed an inferior repair. Dave informed me that I had no legal recourse to the first shop because the car had been hit twice since it had been first repaired so the techs asked me for some direction in what I wanted done. I said I just wanted the gap in the quarter panel closed. I just want this side to look like the other side. Use a screw if you have to; just try to find a flush one and make paint it to match the quarter panel. And on their busiest day of the week, while adjusters and paying customers were coming in and out, they did just that. And it looked great! Again! Bottom line They made me feel like I was driving a special order Ferrari.and that what I wanted. Thats what everyone wants, right? And how much did it cost me? Not a dime. How much was it worth to me? Priceless. They have my business for life. Their speed, accuracy and professionalism have earned my business for life. WL Bush

Yes! Great service! They really care about the people that come in their shop AND their cars...I almost gave 4 stars because the rear parking sensor on my car wasn't fixed when I initially got the car back, but I took it back the next day and they finished it that day...AND they detailed my car! Woah!

I've been to this shop twice. Dave and Jose are amazing! Professional, approachable individuals that offer superb customer service and best prices around. Go see them for a free estimate and you won't need to look any more. They are the best (and probably the fastest) shop around!

Friendly, fast & reliable service! I took my car in for an estimate that every other collision shop seemed to be scamming me with but Dave was helpful, kind & fair! He went the extra mile when he didn't have to & I appreciate that. I'm telling everyone that this collision shop is the place to go :)

UPDATE: Took my car to Royal Oak garage for second opinion. Car needs shocks. That's it. Called Rick (manager) back to let him know he miss diagnosed the car (third time in three months). Rick cussed me out using profanity and then hung up. Classy place. So if you want to get ripped off take your car to Berkley Auto right next to Berkley Collision. It's like throwing money out the window.

This is the worst experience I have had dealing with a body or car repair shop. I brought my car in for a simple fix to replace something which they did do but they returned my car with a dent and scrape on the front left corner of my car. They even tried covering it up with white paint. They are denying that they did any damage to my car and won't fix it unless I pay to fix it. The man I dealt with was extremely rude and unhelpful and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I have not gotten my car repaired here but have gotten a lot of help by these guys. Needed a few bolts/screws loosened up for my door and these guys helped in seconds. Got advise on how to paint a push bumper I picked up. And some other random help. These guys are ALWAYS busy fixing cars but ALWAYS have time to talk and help no matter what time of day. Thanks guys!! :-)

Derek and team are great. My husband just had brakes done and he's very happy. I have had Derek work on my car for a little while now.He is honest and organized as to adhering to appt. times.His team listens and are polite. Don't forget Berkley Collision next door. Another winner!I'm lucky to be living in the area so I don't feel abandoned if my "Old girl" brakes down.

Berkley Collision is the only place I will take my '98 Subaru Outback for repairs. Even though it's an older vehicle, David treats it (and me) with respect. He really puts his time and effort into making it look as good as possible for the most reasonable price. He and his team are honest and hard-working, and are in this business for the customers, not for the profit alone. I would recommend this business to everyone!

These guys did such a great job, and they were so fast! This is the first time I've ever had to get any work done on a car. So being a 'newbie'... I was afraid that these repairs would not go smoothly. I was so wrong! These guys walked me thru the process, and helped guide me thru everything... and, they were even patient with me while I asked a million questions! They offered me a loner car, while mine was being fixed, and it was refreshing to feel like this mechanic shop was actually looking out for my best interest! I'd definitely go there again... even just to be entertained by their manager, Dave... LOL! He's such a trip! 'Sigh... Sooooo happy to have my wheels back! :)
