I highly advise against using European Auto Center (EAC) for any car maintenance. I had two major repairs performed there on my 2008 S40 Volvo - an air conditioner repair in the summer of 2015 and a clutch replacement in July of 2016. The clutch failed approximately two days after installation and the air conditioner approximately one year after installation. To make matters worse, I have been told by two independent mechanics one of them a Volvo dealer that the clutch di... Continue Reading

To make matters worse, I have been told by two independent mechanics one of them a Volvo dealer that the clutch did not need to be replaced. I took my car to EAC in the summer of 2015 for a non-functioning air conditioner. EAC repaired the AC and it worked fine. Based on this experience, I took the car to EAC in July of 2016 for diagnosis of sluggish acceleration and was told that the clutch and cam sensors needed to be replaced ($1,694.85). EAC performed the work, but after taking the car home there were still acceleration problems. Before I was able to take the car back to EAC for the same acceleration problem, the clutch went out while I was driving. Fortunately, I was able to slowly drift to the side of the road and avoid a serious accident. EAC took the car to their shop and got the clutch functioning again. When I asked what had happened and whether I should be concerned that my car would break down again, I was told that a pin had been overlooked in the clutch replacement. I found this to be particularly troubling lapse. When you have your car repaired you expect the mechanic to be aware of all of the intricacies that are involved with the installation to include an obviously critical pin. At this point, I seriously questioned EACs ability to properly diagnose and repair my car - considering the failure of a new clutch and since I was still experiencing sluggish acceleration (which the clutch was supposed to remedy.) I then decided to take the car to another mechanic to diagnose the acceleration issue and to examine the old clutch parts. The mechanic said that in his professional opinion the clutch was not the cause of my acceleration issue and that, in fact, my old clutch had many more miles remaining on it. I then took the car to the Volvo dealer - to have them thoroughly check out the entire car and to get a second opinion on the clutch. On the way to the dealer, the AC replaced by EAC approximately one year ago stopped working. The Volvo dealer stated they could see nothing wrong with the clutch and doubted it had been the cause of my acceleration problem. Furthermore, they stated that the cam sensors installed by EAC were faulty. To summarize, I found my experience with EAC to be extremely disappointing. Everything they have repaired has either been unnecessary (clutch), installed incorrectly (clutch and cam sensors) or failed prematurely (AC). I believe that they misdiagnosed my initial acceleration problem as a bad clutch, then improperly installed the clutch, causing me to break down. All of which forced me to spend countless hours and thousands of dollars to remedy the misdiagnosis and faulty installation. For these reasons, I cannot recommend that you use EAC.

I brought my vehicle to get an engine noise checked. Well, a nightmare, 2 weeks later, and no one has called me back to schedule repair, and when I call, the owner keeps telling me, I'll call you in an hour.

If you have never met Ziad. You need to.
This man ALWAYS helps me. I trust him with my Benz. This guy always helps. He'll tell you honestly what your repair will cost. Almost ALWAYS less than the dealership. Go to him first. He'll tell you he told so...
