DO NOT take your car to Fernando Gutierrez! He used to be so fair & honest. He always seemed to give me a good price & quick service. He seemed to actually care about his customers. But lately, over the last year or so, he has changed. The last couple of times I took my car to him he couldn't figure out what was wrong even after driving the car with me and my pointing out what it was doing wrong. But I still gave him the benefit of the doubt & recently took my daughter's car to him to fix a broken axle. He charged her $484. After the repair it didn't feel right & she took it back the next day. He said he looked at it, drove it, and couldn't find anything wrong. Again he wanted to drive it with her for her to point out what she was feeling even though she felt this should have been obvious. She took her car to the Ford Dealership where they immediately found that the axle was installed incorrectly, the front wheel was loose and wobbly, & the motor was resting on the frame! A screw was inserted crookedly, stripping the threads in the axle assembly. The wheel was damaged beyond repair from the loose lug nuts. She could have been killed if she had taken it on the freeway! The wheel would have flown off! He refuses to admit any wrong doing even though he let it slip that he did not do the work or look at it himself. He refuses to give even a partial refund. The repair cost at Ford is $2800 + tax to fix the damage he caused by his negligence. She could have been killed! And all he could say was, "I don't know what happened. Bring it back to me and I'll fix it right this time." He already had a second chance and didn't even look at it. Who, in their right mind would take it back to him again????????

After a frustrating experience trying to service my Volkswagen elsewhere, I called JM Automotive to make sure I could have my vehicle towed and not be shocked with hidden diagnostic fees and random charges like at the dealer service center. Juan was extremely professional and helpful throughout the whole experience and I knew immediately I made the right choice with this facility. He explained the diagnostics in a manner that was understandable and was extremely fair with the costs and time to fix this problem, as opposed to being quoted three extra weeks to wait and possible storage fees at other places. I have referred him to everyone I know and will only be taking my vehicles here from now on.

Friday, Jan. 29 2016 Wow! Normally I wouldn't have gone to this little ghetto place but auto zone wouldn't change the terminals for me. I already bought them and I had to leave my truck running because I couldn't chance that it wouldnt start again. I had three kids in the vehicle on top of that and when I got out at this place the guy said they were all on lunch breaks. Of course I see guys back there working but I guess he didn't see my issue as making his company enough money!! So he told me to wait for an hour till they are back from lunch and I told him I can't turn the truck off I just needed to have the cables stripped and the new terminals I purchased installed. I was willing to pay. He said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do. What the hell! How can everyone be on break all at once. I saw others workers there and it was 2pm. Really?? Everyone goes at the same time on break at two!? I'm discussed! They only want the big money!!

We shipped our Fiat Motorhome from Europe to the United States and after a few weeks we had some problems (tire, windshield wiper, AC). While we stayed in San Antonio, I called numerous Auto Repair Shops, but none of them could repair a Fiat. Since JM Automotive specializes in foreign cars, I called him up and he immediately agreed to have a look at it. We drove to the repair shop right away and were welcomed by the incredibly friendly Mr Juan Arias himself. The shop itself looks a little bit rundown and there are a few other repair shops at Babcock Rd, so it was a little hard to locate it, but Juan made up for it with his very professional nature. We were told to leave it to him and came back after 3 hours, and everything was done. The AC and the tire were fixed and he even found an alternative solution for the windshield wipers (because they are from Fiat, you can't just replace them with any other wipers). The rate we paid was absolutely reasonable and he even adjusted our tire pressure for free. We are very satisfied with the service and can gladly recommend JM to everyone.

If you have a place that can give an accurate diagnostic for free- keep them because every other place that could service VW had the highest, outrageous fees ($85, $125, $150....) and that was not the case here, I was able to comfortably speak to him about cost concerns to avoid an invoice shock. I have referred him to everyone I know and will only be taking my vehicles here from now on.

They charge $50 just to take a look at your car! 2 hr wait times. Seems like a shady place. See other reviews on here...there are many places on Babcock that will check for free and do a visual inspection. AVOID!!!!

Great place, clean and profesional.
The mechanic found a problem in my car that I had for years and other places tried to find but couldn't.
Just like every respected shop, they charge for diagnostic so if you are serious and ready to give some love to your car, this is a great place to go.

Sweet owner, very kind, and helpful.
That's about it.
Told him I needed my brakes replaced, so he went and looked at them, looked at the rotors as well- showed me the things that needed to be done/should be done soon. Asked him for a quote- he gave that to me. I asked for an itemized one- he said he could only do that AFTER........ first red flag.
I said, ok thank you- I'll need to think about it. He said that'll be $50.
What?!?!? Why??
Because I just looked at your car...
He NEVER TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE. EVER. He wouldn't let me leave until I had paid- he had my keys, my car up in the air with no tires on. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE.
