I've taken my 2007 Pathfinder here several times as it's close to work. Everytime I've been satisfied with the cost and the work but didn't think anything special of it. Last week I took my car in as I was told by the 10 minute oil change place that my oil sending unit needed repair as it was leaking. So off for repair it went. Fortunately it didn't end up needing any work - seems to have been a much easier fix and after some cleaning all was well. I'm writing this as it's not often you take your car in and they call to tell you it in fact doesn't need repair. For all the bad reputations auto repair places have I was very pleasantly surprised that they did not perform unneeded work and in fact that didn't even charge for the clean up work they had done. Will definitely be back for the next inevitable repair as well as will recommend to anyone who asks!

I went to Monro Muffler and Brake they told me I need brake pads and rotor $350 for the back. My front brakes were 15% but didn't say they needed servicing. I always get a second opinion. I went to Lentz, didn't tell them what was said at Monro. I was told at Lentz I needed pads, and rotors for the front and calibers for the back. So, I asked them " do I need pads and rotors for the back as well?" they said yes, only after I asked. I told them what I was told at Monro and I find it odd Monro never mentioned I needed calibers and that they never said I needed front brake work. I asked for a print out of an estimate they said $35. I told them never mind. I took my car to Meekof for a third opinion. Meekof told me I needed what Monro had said Rotors and brake pads on back (for $75) less than Monro was charging and my front brakes were at 75% operable. So two repair places never mentioned calipers why did Lentz see a need for the calipers and front brake repair? I find this to be strange. Did the other two repair places not notice this? Being a female we often feel taken advantage of and less trusting of mechanics than our male counterparts. This is why. Mechanics, please, stop taking advantage of customers, get a reputation of being honest and your customers will be your best advertisement, you will do a great deal more business. Oh by the way, Monro told me last year I needed brakes, that was the first time I had gone to Meekof (friend recommended) Meekof told me my brakes were good for at least another year. SMH I'm not saying Lentz was dishonest but I would have been out of at least 700-1000 dollars but I got it done for $275 .

I went to Lentz on Michigan street and the first thing was Brian was very nice. we brought in a 2010 Mitsubishi lancer because it wouldn't start. We figured it was a starter. After they diagnosed it for hours, they figured out that we had the wrong key. They never tried to sell me a starter and had us bring in the other key. The car started right up!!!!! These guys are soooooooooo honest!!!!! We bring all of our vehicles to them and we recommend anyone who needs an honest shop to go to to go to Lentz on Michigan street and see Brian and his crew! Thanks again for being sooooo honest.

I brought my truck in for an oil change and inspection. Brian looked over my car and found a small problem that had been overlooked at the dealership in the past. Because it was under warranty he said I should take it there to have it looked over. When I did the dealership scoffed at the idea they could have missed something, but due to my persistence, they looked it over. Sure enough the exact problem he told me about was there and they had to repair it. They asked me how I found this issue and I told them that "my mechanic" found it. No question, if I need work, I would rather have Brian and the guys at Lentz look at it than anyone else. They do a great job, try don't over charge (considering he told me it was under warranty and to go get it fixed for free) and I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Outstanding service. I had a minor problem (washer fluid not coming out) and stopped in the day after Christmas without an appointment. The team brought my car into the shop and let it warm up, and the fluid began flowing again. They sent me on my way about an hour later, and waived the usual $40 diagnostic charge.
