Worst place I came in for an estimate on brakes for my truck and the moron at the office without looking at my truck gave an estimate that included the change of breaks and disks (how in the world can you say that without even looking at the cars breaks!!!!). This is the hint that tells you that they want to rip you off. Went there because of the 4/5 stars that people were giving but I'm guessing the workers put them and most likely family members. Gotta keep looking for HONEST!! Mechanics

So I get into my car after work, and lo and behold, the oil light starts flashing. Omg...what do I do? I don't have time all weekend to get my oil changed...I only have a couple hours before class....
Jumped onto Yelp to find a place close to school to take my car to and came across Danny's. Called them on a whim, and they were able to fit me in right away. It's located on the corner of Fairview and 1st, in the back corner of a lot with other auto shops, so it was a bit hard to find at first. Got quoted $30 and roughly 20 minutes for an oil change. Arrived to the shop, and they immediately took my car in...no questions, nothing! Got right to work on it.
Watching them work on my car right now...it's about 15 minutes in, and they were kind enough to check the air pressure in my tires! A lot of places I have been to don't provide that service, so I was pleasantly surprised!
It's now about 20 minutes, and they are almost done; completing my invoice now! Wow...best service I have ever gotten at a shop.

Got a oil change there today and it was fast. They even did more than I expected from them. They told me what was wrong with my car cause my check engine light was on. I already new the problem but I think we all think everytime they mention more stuff like that they wanna make money off us. This place is nothing like that. I can say I truly trust this spot I had my own Mechanic and didn't trust anyone but I moved close to this place and I'll be coming here more often. Very satisfied! My AC line was clogged, which was causing the condensation to drip from underneath my glove compartment. Called multiple places, decided to come here because Danny was honest about what it could be and I know for something like this won't cost much money and quoted me like 25 bucks.
However, once I got their it was super easy. Danny's Grandson, I didn't get his name took care of me and it was simple and quick. He ended up charging nothing in the end. This seem like a legit honest business, family owned and run. I'll be back when I need anything else for my cars. Thanks guys!

Can't say enough. Danny and his staff know there stuff. Can't complain neither at the fact he has great resources with other companies that handle services he may not offer, such as body repair or smog checks. Always kind of hesitant in the past when getting sent to someone I'm not familiar with, but when you arrive and say Danny sent you things get done how they should. My mechanic of 15years passed away this last year and was looking for a spot. They really take care of you and your car. They make sure customer service is satiafactory ans your car is up & running well! The prices are very reasonable (mention yelp for a discount!!). I ALWAAAYS come here for anything I need with my car. I trust Danny and his quality of service as well as every one else that works here. I also recommended this place to a ton of people I know and they agree that service and quality is satisfactory.
I believe oil is around $25-$30 for regular.

Yelp never fails me. Thank you to all who post reviews, many of us (and you reading this) rely on others to post so we can wisely choose. Therefore I must do my part to help others searching for an auto mechanic.
Danny's Auto in Santa Ana did live up to the 5 star rating everyone before me submitted. I'm happy to say I am also one of the many satisfied customers of Danny!
I came in for a front brake job. He quoted me and explained the benefits of the cheaper generic pads being the same as the costlier name brands. The sign of a trustworthy businessman. He then found out it was my rear brakes that were making the squeaking noise not the fronts. He could have convinced me to "also" do the rears, but instead told me the fronts don't need it yet. Another sign of his honesty.
I brought my bike in fully expecting to ride home and wait several hours. He said it would actually only take 2 hours (which it didn't)...it took a little over an hour and a half! What kind of auto repair shop is this? Honest, customer cost conscious, and fast! Need I say more? Danny's Auto is definitely now my auto mechanic of choice and I've already stored him in my contact list!

Here at "Danny's repair shop" getting my water pump and thermostat changed out on my 2005 scion XB. Let's just start by saying that they are still working on my car as we speak.
Right when I pulled into the plaza at 8:00 am, he was the first person I saw, pointed towards me to pull into a parking spot off to the side. Once I got to the "front desk", Danny the owner quickly asked me what I needed done on my "xBox", which I thought was hilarious. He gave me different options to different parts to try to save me money. In the end, the oem parts in this case was cheaper than the alternative. BTW, he only reccommends OE manufacturers of parts, I.e Aisin or Denso.
Danny is a "Genuinely" nice guy. He reminds me of Jay Leno. He sorta looks like him and talks like him. LOL. Customer service seems to be his number one priority. I've been eaves dropping on his conversation with other customers and he is the guy who will fix your car right the first time. He knows his stuff.
The parts were fairly priced and I'm very confident the workmanship here at the shop will be stellar. Superior customer service at it's best. I am so confident that I am writing this review as they are working on my car. This will have to be a YELP first. Read my other reviews on which shops not to go to.

Being new to Orange County from Florida I had no idea where to take my car when my light came on indicating it was time for my regular check up. Since it was nothing more than a standard check up I decided to just take it to the Honda Dealership and quickly remembered how dirty and dark the auto industry can be when I got hit with a $480 and that uncomfortable situation where they told me I needed new brakes for just an extra $300 and weren't going to take no for an answer..
That's when I better start doing some research and found Danny's and I couldn't be happier! Not only was he able to fix my car in less than 3 hours (when one very high yelping ranking garage told me they wanted to keep my car for over a week) but they also only charges me almost half of what they were asking and even gave me a discount!
Danny and his son are both so nice and very helpful when explaining what they are doing! This is what you are looking for if your looking for a new place to take your car! They won't do you wrong and you'll leave feeling as happy and satisfied as I am today!

I had trouble with my car and I thought it was the barrier but AAA came twice and said it wasn't the batterie. I took it to Danny's and he said it's the batterie. He even printed out the sheet and said 1volt replace now... WOW really ? aAA didn't want me to use my 3 year warranty because it expires in a week. I recently installed a new battery in my car, which caused the engine light to turn on, and my car to stall. I was really worried, thinking that I was going to be spending a lot of money! This is my go to place, but when my car was stalling this place was closed, so I went to a mechanic that my uncle recommended, and the mechanic was asking for $100 to clean the throttle body, and it wasn't a for sure thing since my uncle was trying to convince him to charge me $100. Pepboys on first street was trying to charge me to just tell me what the code meant, and an arm and a leg to diagnose my engine. Luckily, I didn't accept, and I just showed up at Danny's when they were open. He charged me around $45! Big difference! On another note, I thought my car was making noise a couple months ago, so I took it to Danny, he checked it out (had the tires removed and whatnot), and told me nothing seemed wrong, and to go back if any issues appear. Any other mechanic would've seen a woman and charged her for some made up issue, but Danny didn't charge me a thing!

I was lucky enough to stumble on this repair shop. Danny runs this business with a true heart for service. His leadership reflects in all of his staff who are friendly and work hard. Reasonable pricing.
Danny obviously runs his business with a conscience. It is more important for him to do the right thing than to make a quick buck, making him a mechanic I can put my trust in.
I am not utilizing hyperbole because I can be very critical when necessary, but this place is the real deal.

Was trying to find somewhere to get my oil changed for my Chevy Volt. Everywhere wanted to charge me $90 since it's a hybrid. Then I found Danny! He charged me $72, but that was only because it required a different filter which was a few extra bucks. But it was still such a better price than everywhere else. To add, Danny and the other guys were super sweet and it was done so quickly. My boyfriend and I are extremely satisfied and I am so happy I found this place through Yelp. I will be sharing my amazing experience with everyone I know and referring them here :)

So I was at the Infiniti Stealership to get some minor service done, and as expected, they found something that needed to be replaced. They quoted me a sky high number to do some suspension work and replace my belts. I knew it was BS, so I declined and took it to Danny's. I explained what the stealership had suggested and he gave me the honest answer. Danny gave me all my options and took care of all the required work that needed to be done at a price that was much better than what the stealership was trying to charge,
I was in and out of there in less than an hour and a half. Danny and his crew are honest, fast, and friendly. One of my fog lights went out and he replaced it for free, now that's awesome service. He made sure I understood what was going on with my car and saved me a bunch of time and money.

Brakes were grinding so I knew it was time to take the car to a shop. Yelped a couple of places to get a quote. Spoke to Danny and he was very easy to speak to and very professional. He seemed very reasonable and told me the best way for an accurate estimate was to bring the car to the shop.
I came there with my kids. They inspected the car and gave me a good estimate. Danny explained and showed me the parts so I could understand. I felt very confident moving forward with his suggestions. He comes across as genuine, caring and trustworthy. I will definitely come back and would refer him to others. Glad I found him. Recommended by my father and hands down best mechanic shops in santa ana maybe even orange county!!! Had a problem with my truck with it over heating and thought it was a big issue turns out it was my thermostat that was stuck. The are professional mechanics and take they time to inspect the car and make sure its fixed professional without having any problems in the future. I have been going to dannys auto service for over 4 years now. They have worked on my vehicles and i have been satisfied every time my vehicle gets a service or repair from them and truthfully saved alot of money going to dannys auto service. Truly recommend dannys auto shop to who ever has any issue to the vehicle or in generally just basic oil changes or brake service etc.

Ugh, it's that time again! My brakes are speaking and my oil indicator is screaming, "CHANGE ME". I've had such bad luck with prior services done to my car. I have been over charged, ripped off, and things that I've taken to fix were mickey moused. For these reasons, I 'loathe' going to the mechanic.
My husband has taken our car here before for an oil change and said these guys were honest, straight forward, and offer great service. I brought my car in today to get the service for my poor, neglected car.
I must say, these guys were great! I brought my own oil and oil filter and so the oil change was only $15. Additionally, when they were checking my brakes they showed me both the front and back brakes. Stated I only needed the back changed. I really did appreciate their honesty. I was worried coming here alone, however they have certainly installed confidence in bringing my car here.

This review on my behalf has been looooooong overdue! I once had a problematic car and no matter how many times I went to different shops all over town for different opinions, I ALWAYS ended up back at Danny's! Despite his flat out honesty in what was wrong, I was reluctant to get a new car. So needless to say, I was forever at the shop! Danny would accomodate my schedule and fit me in no matter how busy the shop was. He was kind enough to loan me one of his cars while mine was being worked on! The time and patience that this shop puts into your car is amazing. They genuinely care about customer service and making sure you are satified. Danny would explain in simpler terms so that I can understand what was going on with my car. After several months of troubles I finally got a new car! I'm due for a tune up and I will most definitely continue to use Danny's shop as my regular mechanic.

Found this place on yelp, had my breaks replaced, tires rotated and oil change. Pricing was good and so far the actual service was good.
The reason for my one star is because it took 2 people to test drive my car and when they arrived back they had gone on a beer run. The mechanic in the passenger seat reached down and passed a case of beer to someone from another shop. I was so angry at what I saw, I told the owner, all he could do is say this has never happened before and he was sorry. I will not go back, using customers vehicles to do beer runs is so unprofessional!

I highly recommend Danny's. I dropped by for Danny to do a quick check up before embarking on a road trip to San Francisco. Danny adjusted my tire pressure, refilled some of my fluids, and showed me step by step what to check for. He didn't even charge me because he remembered I changed my oil at his shop a couple of months ago. Straight-up, honest mechanic who is very knowledgeable.
If you don't have a go-to mechanic, stop by Danny's the next time you need to fix your car.

This is a great place for speedy BASIC SERVICES. Danny, the owner, is great. He is bilingual, English and Spanish. He is willing to explain to the customer the problems with his/ her car. Oil Changes don't take longer than 15-20 min. The reason for the 3 star rating is because Danny was promised to call me back within a two day period for extra inquiries about my car, However he didn't get back to me until four days later.(I called the day he was suppose to contact me back, and the day later) I understand that he is a busy man, and I can't expect everything to be prompt, but because of his raving reviews I expected a prompt response. Though there is no doubt that this is a great place for quick and informative car service.

Excellent service, I really enjoyed coming here today and I will definitely come back to Danny's shop again. Came in for an oil change, check engine light and I was fully satisfied.
My car had a check engine light and Danny read the code and found what part I needed, and he did that diagnostic for free, all the while multitasking several customers and running the shop. The price he was quoted for the fuel/ air sensor was pretty high so he said I can bring them the part to install it at the cost of labor (65$/hr) and he said it would only take an hour.
Danny seems like a really great guy, just overhearing a conversation he had with a customer impressed me. the customer needed to get a rental car and Danny was willing to drive him to enterprise while his shop was working on his car. Very cool guy, would recommend 10/10.

Great service, friendly, honest, and most importantly they do great work and know what they are doing!
I was buying a used car down the street and needed to have it inspected to see if there were any defects that I didn't catch. Danny did the inspection and pointed out a few things that I should be aware of. He even printed out pictures which I took back to the dealership and used to renegotiate. Danny's work was timely and he gave me a good price on the items that needed to be adjusted and fixed. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area in need of auto repairs or maintenance!

Always honest and fair! Today I went in because I was told by another shop that I needed rear brakes. Danny checked and nope, I don't need them. The first time I went in I had my vehicle towed there by AAA because they could not get it to start and they said I needed a starter. Danny got it to start and I did not need a starter after all. He could have changed my starter and charged me, but instead he was honest and didn't.

After speaking with Danny Jr. on the phone I asked him how much he would charge to do an oil change for my wife's Lincoln Aviator. I have my own oil and filter. He quoted me a great price that was to my liking ($5 dollars cheaper than anyone else) so I decided to go with him.
When arriving my wife called me upset saying that the price quoted had changed to $5 more. I spoke to Danny Sr. who then explained to me that oil changes for SUVs are more than the price they charge for cars. After explaining to him that I had called and told them the exact vehicle that i had, they should have told me the right price, but I was willing to pay the extra charge if that was indeed what the correct price is. He then informed the that he would honor the price quoted for this visit.
(Now I know some of you are thinking wow what a cheap ***. Still doesn't change the fact that I called 5 other shops who priced me the price that he WAS going to charge me. Since i was quoted 5 dollars lower than those other shops, it was my deciding factor to try this place.)
Regardless, I appreciate the fact that they honored the price given over the phone for this visit. That is what customer service is about. So as my contribute as a thank you I am writing this review for them. I will also be returning if I have any future car needs.

I felt a little bit hard to slow down my car on freeway so I went to Danny's to check my brakes. Leo did a brake inspection for half hour, he showed me the brake and told me my brake pads are still 30% remaining, then I went home without any charge.

I dont usually write reviews (this is my 2nd), but this shop is so awesome that I HAD to do it so others can experience it.
I cant begin to describe how awesome my experience was. He did a brake job for me and he was able to answer all of my questions (stuff that the service guys at the dealer couldnt) like how thick the new brake pads are and at what thickness they should be replaced. He showed me how he did the entire job and was super friendly. He even quoted me on the phone (I knew what service I already needed) and when I paid I was surprised there wasnt any extra fees. He apparently included tax in my phone estimate!
Basically, Danny is super friendly and didnt mind answering my questions and showing me old vs new parts, how rotors are turned, etc. I didnt have a ride so I decided to wait and he skipped lunch and personally worked on my car so I could get back to my day, I was very impressed at his level of service. Forget getting quotes from other shops, this guy is competitive and uses quality parts (go ahead and ask him what part he is going to use).
Even if you find a shop that's cheaper, ask yourself if you really trust them to not cut corners. maybe they'll forget some bolts, put in cheap oil, extra-diluted coolant etc. I dont trust people with my car (I do most of the maintenance myself), but I feel like I can trust Danny to treat my car well and not overcharge me. I'm surprised that he doesnt raise the rates because the shop is always busy (dont worry, with multiple mechanics, they can get through many cars in a day).
Bottom Line: I wont shop around ever again. Danny's is where I will go and refer people to go every time.

Talk about the last honest mechanic standing! Danny is just awesome. He used to work with my dad many many years ago so my dad who was also a mechanic for over 25 year had told me Danny had opened up his own shop. (This was also a long time ago) and I have been going to him forever. I send all my friends there. I know he will take care of them and not tell them all this unnecessary stuff that really doesn't need to be done.
If you are looking for a mechanic that's not going to over charge you and honestly fix your car, Danny's your man. Yes, it does get busy there, but there's a reason for that!

I Found Danny's Auto on here and decided to give them a try. Went in for an oil change, pretty basic $29, In and out in less than 30 mins.
I must agree with everyones comments, these guys are very nice and helpful. I met the owner Danny and had the work done by Leo who was very kind and informative when I asked him a few questions about my car. I really appreciated the personal treatment. A lady that was sitting by the counter out of no where, told me how they are the best, I did notice everyone walking out of there in good spirits. This says a lot about an establishment. What more can you ask for when you get friendly, honest and excellent service! I was really impressed with my first visit here. I called Danny at 5pm asking about getting a last minute oil change done. With no hesitation he said no problem and to come on over. He ordered the parts as the old oil was drained and by the time the parts arrived it was ready for the new fluids and filter and I was on my way. I started going to Danny's 17 years ago when I lived about five minutes away from his Santa Ana location.
When I moved to Pasadena, I still drove out to Santa Ana to use Danny's services.
When I moved to Long Beach, I still drove out to Santa Ana to use Danny's services.
Hell, when I moved all the way out to Lake Elsinore, I still drove out to Santa Ana to use Danny's services.
Now I'm back in OC and glad that I'm closer when repair/upkeep time comes around.
In 17 years I have never been over-charged, up-sold, or under delivered. Further, he goes out of his way to explain what work will be done and other options (if available) depending on what your needs are.
I have sent several friends his way and all of them report the same thing. Additionally, in all of the hours I have spent in the waiting area over the years, I have never seen an irate customer. Which seems pretty incredible for an auto service business.
Danny's is a great example of why spending your money in locally owned businesses is best for everyone. He and his team provide great service and takes pride in their work. Money you spend locally stays in the community. And lastly, being a privately-owned small business he can put the needs of his customers above the needs of stockholders.
I really can't say enough good things about this place.

I've had just about everything done under the hood on several auto's, my ford escort I had the water pump and timing belt replaced. My neon had an oil leak and needed the head gasket to be replaced this was covered by the extended warranty. I also had a dodge caravan the transmission leaked, seals had to be replaced, Danny pulled off the transmission and replaced the seals in less than 3-4 hours. My Nissan 240sx fuel injectors had been leaking very badly he replaced all four injectors. I've had break jobs done regularly on all my auto's. I have recommended Danny's Auto Service to my family, friends coworkers.

I've been taking my cars into Danny's for over 10 years because Danny provides excellent service, great price, and is HONEST!!! If he can't do the work, he'll let you know. If he knows there is a manufacturer recall or extended warranty on your vehicle he'll let you know (this saved me hundreds of $$ with my Honda). If your car will need something soon, but can wait he'll let you know so you can start preparing and not have to bare the expense too soon.
Experience with Honda Extended Warranty - My Honda was having a hard time with accelerating. Danny looked into the Honda and realized there had been issues with an EKG filter. He suggested I take it to the Honda Dealership so they would replace the part for free. Based on the info, my car was over the mileage by approximately 10K, so I was hesitant, but Danny said that they sometimes make exceptions. He was right, and Honda replaced my EKG filter. I know that if I had taken the car to another dealership, they may have tried to fix the problem themselves and charge me for it.

Danny and his team of professionals have serviced my cars several times. First time was to replace a nut on my rack n pinion. My wheel almost felloff on the freeway! Repairs were fast and cost was reasonable.
Second was to replace wife's lexus sun shade. Again fast n reasonable.
Then my Infiniti was making wheel noises. He showed me that the struts needed replacing and suggested several things to keep the price down.

What can I say about one of the most kindest, wonderful and talented mechanics that I have ever known. My husband and I have been customers for over 15 years and Danny and his staff have kept all our cars in tip top running order while saving us sooooo much money. There have been so many times that he has helped us out in tight situations, like for instance, when I had no "roadside" assistance, Danny would pick us up and deliver the car to our home. He is a true gem and I would highly recommend him to everyone, you won't be sorry!

Normally I don't rate any places but I felt the need to rate this shop. I found this place online and the reviews were awesome. I now understand why. These guys saved me $200 on a brake service and brake fluid change. Danny was great, he explained everything to me and I felt that he was being genuine. This is my new auto shop.

If you need an honest, fast, GOOD mechanic, go to Danny's. There's nowhere else to look. I am 7 months pregnant and showed up to Dannys shop with my sick 6 year old based on all the amazing reviews he has here and in yahoo and everywhere on the net. My engine mounts were broken and he called it in under two minutes. I had previously been somewhere else and asked about the engine mounts and the guy said they were fine (my car has a recurring problem w this). Danny fixed my car in a few hours and also installed new tires. The price is excellent and he won't rob you blind like some places. I asked him about five times "you're sure there's nothing else my car needs??" (my car is 7 years old). Every time he Shook his head no. Any other mechanic would have given me a long list of things to "fix". I'm grateful I found this place! Thanks Danny! Oh and he also guarantees his work!!

I came to Danny's regarding my timing belt needing replacement. I was at another competitors shop and was quoted almost 3x's what Danny was charging. The parts Danny ordered for me had to be new based off the year of my car, so I knew he was giving me a great deal. Great service at Danny's.

It's hard to find trustworthy repair shops, and I certainly got lucky my first time around this time! Danny is a very nice, honest man. I can see why people trust their cars with him and his employees. I was looking around for auto repair places and found him here on yelp. Everyone had such great reviews and so I had to call him regarding my broken taillight. Just from our phone conversation I can tell he was very genuine. He truly won me over and I will definitely be returning to his shop for future repairs.

I went to Danny completely by luck when I first arrived in the USA and bought a car - I just liked the name of the shop as my brother's name is Danny. And I was blown away. He explained everything to me, was friendly and kind, and I left feeling secure that my car was fixed up and safe to drive. When I compared what I was charged with what others were charged, I realized how careful he'd been to save me money where he could, without cutting any corners in terms of safety or maintenance. I have been back twice since. I'll be a customer for life.

Went in for an oil change and Danny was very helpful. I bought my car used from the dealership and weren't given a maintenance schedule booklet. He told me where I could get this booklet and the reason why it was necessary to have. Not only was I pleased with the oil change of the car (which was done at a reasonable price bc of his Oil Change Special, $25 :)) but I was very satisfied with his customer service. Very helpful and honest man and definitely looks out for customers and their well being. I loved my experience. Go to him! Won't regret it.

A little over a year ago, I found myself in a situation where I wish I had honest people around me. My old mechanic had stabbed me in the back with a bad job that costed me a fortune and the mechanics I was being referred to were charging me $75 to just look at my car. I was helpless, I was pissed and with very little money to spend. When I was about to go ape, I remembered about yelp. This is when my life turned around. Yelp pretty much walked me into Danny's place, when I got there, I did notice he was slammed with a car in every parking spot inside his shop being worked on, he was answering phones and taking care of clients all at the same time, talk about a multi tasker. After I intruduced myself and my problem, he talked to me about alternative routes that would save me some money at that time and also gave me ideas on how to keep my yunk yard car running without spending more money on it. He didn't charge an inspection fee and that made a huge difference on the way I was getting used to being treated and the way he treated me and my very problematic car. I drove off with a smile on my face and with the satisfaction that my car was in good hands. Now, my sister, first time driver/car owner, bought a used car from one of those craigs list fake people that messed her car up big time, Long story short, after my sister spent $8,000 on mechanics that knew nothing about german cars, I took her to Danny, Danny himself took care of my sister's car with a very reasonable price that left my sister happy and with a working car. 2 days later, we find ourselves driving a nice piece of machinery that we can depend on, thank you Danny, I think by giving this place a 5 star I caused the waiting time to double for my next visit, bitter sweet...

Come with time!!! There is only 1 mechanic here. He lied saying "15 min only" & it turned out to be over an hour. Its only cheap with the coupon. Owner is nice, but needs to be realistic about how long it takes to do a smog check. With coupon you are looking at $45.00

I have been coming to Danny's Auto for over ten years now and even now that I live over an hour away wouldn't consider taking my anyplace else. First and foremost Danny is honest. Of course Danny and all of his mechanics are knowledgeable, professional but not only do they repair your car they communicate clearly with you every step of the way. They let you know what the condition is causing your problem and what all of your options are in fixing. He always lets you know your options and works to keep costs as low as possible. Can't recommend Danny enough - if you need a mechanic you can't go wrong with Danny!

Danny is really a treasure. A good, professional, honest mechanic. He is someone you can trust and know that you're not going to get overcharged or sold something you don't need. I don't know that much about cars, but Danny will always explain to me what's going on with my car in a way that I can understand. He's always there when you need him. If you have an emergency, he always seem to make time to fit you in even if he is busy. He is just really a person of integrity and I'm glad I found him. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.
