Aside from being a wonderful body shop, this place is beautiful! I've been there for 3 times over the past year and I love it so much because the workers are so nice and the environment is lovely. They have nice couches, a big screen TV, fresh coffee, and a vending machine for snacks so that it's always comfortable and cozy. The front desk girl is sweet, and Mike (an estimator at the shop) has always been very helpful, welcoming, and informative! Never going to another body shop again.

I was highly reccomended Douglas autobody & paint by a good friend and when I was in an accident I took my car from Arizona to Pasadena California. The craftkanship was second to none. I got my car back better than when I bought it. I asked what was their secret and they use a special type of clay and then polish and waxed everything. The first time they called me to come pick up my car, my hub cap was missing. The fender was also pushing out my bumper. Then I noticed that the interior of my car was filthy. There were footprints on the seats and some weird glue drips. They denied the glue was from them. After some pressure, they offered to detail the car. It was the worst detail I've ever received. Supposedly, they sent it to Sparkle down the street. They didn't even wash my rims and spilled cleaner all over the dash board. When I went back 4 days later, my fender lined up with the bumper better, but they did not attach the wheel well liner. It was sticking out. I had to bend it and put it in place under the fender myself. Oh, and they put my hub cap on, thankfully. The car drives well, but second time is not really even the charm with them. Details, like a hub cap and wheel well liner, are not really their strong point. And something rattles like crazy now when I drive it. Great. Looks like they've lost their touch in the last year.

I bought my first used (new for me, though) car in my life, and I was so thrilled! The first day I drove it home here to Pasadena however, I was hit-and-run rear ended! My insurance company recommended Douglas Auto Body for the repair. From the beginning to the end, the professionalism and personal care Shawn, of Douglas Auto Body, and all the other staff that helped me were kind, respectful and service-oriented; in short, outstanding in every way.
There were a couple of scuffs and minor dents on the car door, besides the bumper, so I had requested an estimate of those to be repaired also, as the car was supposed to be re-painted overall. I told them that I needed my car back for a camping trip, and they got to work right away. The rental car agent picked me from there and brought me to the rental agency, Advantage on Colorado Blvd, who were also extremely efficient, professional and helpful, despite being very busy.
They not only got the job done before the 5 day turnaround that was promised, but they also negotiated for a reduced rate for the door dings I was going to be paying for out-of-pocket and also got a better rate on the replacement bumper. Shawn even went over the rental car again and discovered a CD we'd forgotten, and also later called to tell us my eyeglasses case was later found in it. He called right away and I was able to get my glasses that very evening. It was in a black case, so we all missed it the first time.
I was thrilled the way the car looked, as if it was brand-new and perfect. I love the Sea Glass Pearl color, and the finish looked rich and new. I didn't notice any areas that looked like it was just painted....everything was sparkling and awesome looking! The inside of the car was immaculate also and a paper was put on the floor so everything looked amazing and was very clean. My only objection was the paint smell still present inside, but that was easily remedied by letting the breeze blow through the car!
Thank you, Douglas Auto Body, not only was everyone there professional and friendly, you helped turn a negative into a positive, and made me a happy "new" car owner! I would recommend Douglas Auto Body to anyone! They give over and above service and it was a pleasure doing business with them.

I just got my car back from Douglas Auto Body yesterday and am very pleased with the work that has been done. Cindy, the service advisor, kept me in touch with the work in progress so I was not left wondering if they were actually working on my car. She dealt both with the insurance company adjustor and myself to make sure that we knew what work had to be done
and I appreciated the update on when the car will be ready each time.
The staff (including Armen, the GM and Eva, their marketing person) there are professional and caring all the way... like providing cold bottled water while you wait to making you feel like they really cared for your business. And they take great pride in their worksmanship.

I got a brand new Mazda3 2 months ago and was backing out of my grandparents' gated community and the gate closed on my car. I didn't realize it had hit my car so I kept driving and it left a pretty nasty mark. I went through insurance and this auto shop is one of the preferred shops. I was content with all the positive reviews so I decided to go with this one, they're opened later then most body shops which definitely is a plus. The customer service here is excellent! They helped me get a rental from Enterprise and the representative came to pick me up and take me to get my rental. My car looks good as new and I'm relieved that I get a lifetime warranty in case anything goes wrong on the part that had been worked on. It's the best Auto Shop experience ever! The first impression of Douglas Auto Body is very clean, organized and lots of smiling faces. I brought my car there for the paint touch up to cover a round shape scratch in my car's front bumper. Eva and Shawn came helped me right away. Shawn is the go-to guy. He knows his stuffs.
While fixing the front bumper, Shawn took a look around my car and noticed there's a long removable scratches in my back bumper so he instantly asked another guy to wax that area with no extra charge. He really paid attention to detail. In and out within 30 min.

I brought my VolvoS40 into Douglas after what I thought was a minor accident. Clearly I know nothing about my car, because the "little bit of damage" I thought I had done was actually going to cost almost $5,000 to fix, and my insurance was thinking about deeming my car a total loss as it is 10 years old. However, since the car only has 62,000 miles on it and had been running without a problem, I made it clear that I would prefer that not happen. Sean, one of the wonderful mechanics at Douglas, was able to negotiate with my insurance and fixed my car seamlessly. It is running perfectly and looks great.
While I hope I never have an accident that requires body work again, I will certainly bring it back to Douglas and recommend it to anyone looking for expert auto knowledge and service.

I didn't have the best experience with their representatives in the past, but it is clear that they have made some positive changes with their new staff.
A representative by the name of Eva contacted me and apologized for my negative experience years before. This was really kind of this business after not having returned for a few years. They wanted me to give them another chance, and if I still lived in that area, I definitely would.

After an accident the reception at Douglass and their professionalism is exceptionally reassuring. I'd give 6 stars if I could!
Today I went to Douglas because one friend said they offered free touch up service for scratches. The result was spectacular! Surpassing that was the attentive approach and sweet smile on every staff's face I met!! Everyone knows when we get freebies sometimes we had to spend a lot of time listening to ad first, but I didn't suffer such headache here. I'll have to drive 30+ miles from West Covina area, but I'd rather to do that because their service was honest, highly efficient, and with high quality. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and that spills over into the service they provide their customers. I have had several repairs completed by Douglas A/B. Each time the work was outstanding. The process was easy, and pain free. They also do a really good job of advocating for the customer, and I like that they have strong affiliations with many of the large insurance companies. That relationship is often under appreciated, but it goes a long way in providing a stress free repair. I would recommend them to anyone in Pasadena. Great shop, great people, great repairs.

They are very professional and friendly at the same time. They informed me of every steps they are doing and when there was a delay for a day for a piece they called me to let me know. They took care of the paperwork of the insurance and their waiting room is clean and inviting, the staff are very courteous. I will go there for my other vehicle bodywork.

Best body shop ever. These guys have fixed three of my Dodge Dakotas over the years. Guaranteed work. They go the extra mile. Had a small dent that wasn't part of the collision damage, and they touched it up for free. Getting ready to have them fix my Impala now. I know it's going to look great. Had my car in for repairs since i was rear ended. Customer Service was excellent, the owners are awesome! They saw a few paint scratches on my fuel door and repainted it free of charge during my bumper repair. Now thats quality service.
@Jackie M. - giving 1 star to Douglas Autobody because your car broke down from engine problems shouldn't be their fault. You say they worked on your back door and bumper, they didn't work on your engine. Your engine failing has nothing to do with them. Doing body work and Mechanical work are two different things. *SMH*

I had a bad accident with my Car on the right front which caused damage in the front bumper,right fender,right headlight,broken axel,arm and too many things so I thought I will never get my car in excellent condition as before so when took it to them and met Mike Sassounian he was the one who took care of my car and the paper work he has the best customer service EVER so one of the staff told me the job will take between a week to ten days but Mike did the job in exactly 3 days on the top of that when the job was completed they have polished the whole car so when they called me to pick up the car I was amazed from the quality of work my car looks like brand new even drives much better than before

VERY nice and friendly people and they did a stellar job repairing my car! In fact it looked like a brand new car when it was returned to me. I was involved in a parking lot hit and run- so I was on the hook fro the 500 dollars deductible, but what I got back was worth the 500 bucks! I read the other reviews and possible the people who were not happy may have not had an insurance claim as this one was. But I was a happy camper.

Last year I went to two events organized by Brenda Kyle at Douglas Auto Body, and I was impressed by how friendly and helpful everyone was during each visit. It's clear they care about the community and building trust. I could also tell the employees treat everyone like family. Not to mention their facilities are top notch, clean, and made me feel really comfortable.
My sister-in-law always says it's an auto body shop where she knows a woman can go and not get the run around.

I was referred to this body shop after an accident I was in and I couldn't be happier with the service! It was completely hassle-free and they offered friendly customer service. There was some debate with my insurance company about repairs to the motor mounts but Douglas Auto Body helped me get a quick and favorable resolution. They did a great job on my car.
A year later, I was hit in a parking lot by another vehicle and, of course, I took my car back to Douglas. I was given the same great service! I definitely recommend this shop!

Superb service and work. Been here a few times for repair work on our vehicles, never disappointed. Once, when paying out of pocket, I went afterwards to about 4 other shops for quotes. I was told by this shop that I'd not get a better price. They were right. Nobody gave a lower estimate and Douglas has a lifetime guarantee on their work. I also came in for a small scratch once and the service person went to the back, grabbed a container of paint for my truck, and did a quick fix for me. For free! I didn't want to have it extensively painted; it was a small scratch. When you walk in, their reps are very nice and attentive. I think I've written only one other review for a business, definitely felt the need to for Douglas Auto Body. They work with you, keep you in the loop, and their work is as great as I would expect. We don't even get quotes anymore for body work/repair anywhere else; this is our go-to shop.

UPDATE!!!
I wanted to drive my car around for a while to make sure it was back to normal.
So, I took my car back to get the AC repaired (See previous review). They were very apologetic, gave me a rental and promised to get it fixed. The next day I get a call about a problem with my alarm. It was a stock Honda installed alarm and somehow it was causing problems for them. They couldn't get my car started so they had to remove the alarm, for the time being.
Fast forward 2 weeks:
I get a call towards the end of the day that my car is finally done. I get off work early and head down to pick it up. They asked me to wait in the lobby while they get it. No problem. (Wrong).
When I first picked up my car, they brought it out right away. This time though, I was waiting for about 15 minutes. I found it strange, since the place was pretty much dead and I was the only customer there. Anyways, I get called outside and there my car is, looking great (except for the paint problems they didn't fix). I told them to hold off on fixing the paint, because I really needed my car.
So I get in my car, turn the key and the car kind of struggles starting up. Strange, I thought to myself. I look around and no one was around. I figured maybe it's just a fluke, buckle up and drive away. Wow, the AC works great now! I was thrilled and drove the 4 miles home. Once inside my house, I grab some stuff and jump back in my car to run some errands.
Turn the key, DEAD. My car is FREAKING DEAD. I was livid. I somewhat know my way around a car, so I had a feeling of what it was. I ran some simple tests and figured out it was my battery. I guess they zapped the battery when trying to fix my alarm / AC. I also jumped to the conclusion that, someone was recharging my stock battery while I was waiting. That's why I was waiting for a while in the lobby.

I called Douglas Auto again and explained my problem. They were once again very apologetic and knew that these problems were unacceptable. They sent someone to my house with a new battery and switched the batteries right there. To sweeten the pot, they gave me 2 AMC movie tickets to boot!
It's been a roller coaster of stars. From very bad to good, back to horrible then to pretty good. I would cautiously suggest this place to a friend or family member. You just have to be firm and if there is a problem go back and show them.

I have had several collision repairs done here and every single time they treated me well and with good customer service. Their turnaround time is also very good, I've had my repairs completed in less than a week most times. Their adjusters and inspectors are more than happy to educate you and let you know what they think needs repair/replacement and why. They also do guarantee their work - their was a slight imperfection on a previous painted area after a repair was done, I pointed it out and they fixed it due to their 100% lifetime guarantee of their work. Overall, Douglas is a reliable and consistent in their work.

I had previously written a glowing review years ago, but I have to take it all back!!! Douglas Auto Body is incredibly deceitful & dishonest. CAR OWNERS BEWARE: DOUGLAS AUTO BODY IS A SCAM!!! I would give them a negative 5 stars if I could.
I didn't know this and thought they had done good work based on a repair they had done years ago. I'm a woman who admittedly don't know much about cars- i just saw the car looked good and thought it was a good job. So, I had been going to them for years and trusted them with my car and this is what I get for trusting that bunch of crooks:
I discovered one small issue with a repair they had done on my car and when I asked them about it they were shady. So, I took it into another body shop that my insurance company recommended. That body shop did not want to look into another body shop's work, but my insurance field adjuster asked for the body shop to look into it. So, they did...and to their horror and mine there were layer and layers upon shoddy workmanship. Douglas Auto Body had mickey-mouse jobbed my brand new Lexus all over the place- the headlights were busted during an install, the paint was starting to peel & crack, the frame was bent, the bumper was crooked, there were areas that were wholly not painted. To properly fix Douglas Auto Body's work, it took a month and a half because everyday there were new issues discovered. On top of that, Douglas Auto Body denied responsibility for a while, which is ridiculous since Douglas Auto was the only shop to ever work on my car. Douglas Auto billed my insurance company for work they didn't do and scammed me out of a decently repaired car. The writing was on the walls, so Douglas Auto eventually fessed up to their poor workmanship and paid up for the repairs. At the end of it all, the repair work came out to a list of 184 items and the total repairs came out to about $5000 for just the labor. The replacement parts were purchased separately, but that bill was astronomical. I was speechless.
Douglas Auto Body's website quotes the bible: ""Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" (Matthew 5:8)" Ironic, considering their impurity. I wish this group of hypocrites would stop using the God as a marketing gimmick. It's so incredibly sacrilegious, sleazy and astoundingly indecent. Shame on them.

If you're a woman, avoid this place at all cost.
I recently got into an accident and I was driving around down looking for a good, not sleezy autobody shop. Let's just say this place would not have made the cut in 1000 years.
I brought my car in for an estimate after already shopping at a few other places. I know the extent of the damage (bumper, fender, hood latch and hood is bent, no other damage), and I also know which ones are repairable and which ones have to be replaced. This location first tried to convince me that they "cannot give me an estimate because they have to take the car in, take it apart, and look at it for 3~4 days before they can give me an estimate."
I called their bluff and told them to open the hood and give me a written estimate.
The person wrote me an estimate that said my radiator needs to be replaced, part of the engine is damaged, both fenders and the hood must be replaced, etc, etc, etc. At the end, he gave me an estimate of $5,700, with a note on the estimate that said they "could find more damage" after they start working on the car. The person verbally told me he thinks the damages will cost $7000+ to repair.
... seriously? Mind you, my car is a 2004 Camry, it' quite obviously was not even worth $7000 dollars. The chances of me spending half its resale value to FIX the thing was nil, and anyone with half a brain should know it. I'm a woman. I'm not stupid.
Mind you, I already went around and got a few estimates. The price range came in at $1,500 to $3,000, with one Asian place who refuse to open the hood no matter what told me $3,500+ "from experience with this type of damages". (Same story, I must blindly trust him and he'll tell me a price at the end. What, do I look like I was born yesterday?)
I was so throughly disgusted with Douglas Auto Body and the way they tried to scam me. I honestly hope they go out of business soon as they do not deserve to be in business. I hope no one goes here. If you're a woman, don't go here. They will attempt to cheat you any chance they get.

I chose Douglas Auto Body & Paint to fix the damage to my car because it was on the list recommended by my insurance company, and it was close to me.
They did an excellent job, from the moment I drove my car in for an estimate to the time I drove it home, looking as good as new. Everyone I dealt with, including the drivers who took me home and picked me up while I was without my car, was courteous and professional. Arshak and Elida were particularly helpful and knowledgeable and up to speed on everything that was going on with every phase of the repair. The facility itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The repair was completed quickly and perfectly. When I arrived to pick up my car, it had been freshly washed. I would never know it had been hit, twice. This is a first-rate operation all the way. I highly recommend them.

Aside from being a wonderful body shop, this place is beautiful! I've been there for 3 times over the past year and I love it so much because the workers are so nice and the environment is lovely. They have nice couches, a big screen TV, fresh coffee, and a vending machine for snacks so that it's always comfortable and cozy. The front desk girl is sweet, and Mike (an estimator at the shop) has always been very helpful, welcoming, and informative! Never going to another body shop again.

It's kind of hard to review a place where there was only one time where I was a customer. But here it goes:
I was struck by another driver and, with the advice from my insurance agency, elected to take my car to this place. They weren't the cheapest, but I could not turn down their popularity and large number of satisfied customers.
I brought my car in for an estimate. Their office is really snazzy and upscale, a million times better than other body shops. Free coffee and tons of magazines to read. Anyway, customer service was really good. It was busy, but my car was inspected very carefully. The staff treated me real well, explained everything, and answered any and all questions I had. It only took two days to get an estimate, and I had them fix my car. When I got the bill for the repairs, they took the time to explain everything in detail. I was surprised, however, that the actual cost was nearly double of the estimate. What a horrible estimate. Luckily my insurance company covered it and the accident was not my fault, but still. Horrible estimate.
My car looks great now, but there were a few things removed and not replaced. They are minor and do not affect the car's performance at all (like a belt cap, etc.), but it's annoying that I had to point out stuff missing after it was repaired. In fact, they left the "Quality Check" sheets in my car, and nothing was marked on them.
Back to the estimate: The length of time that it took to repair my car was nearly three weeks, and at the time of the estimate I was told it would only take a little more than a week. I made several calls (because they didn't call me about what was taking so long), but didn't get any real explanation to why it was taking so long. What was worse is that I was paying for a rental car during repair, and I had to pay extra because it was taking so long. I was told that Douglas would not compensate for the extra days of car rental. Luckily I was able to convince my insurance company to cover the car rental costs, but still. That's pretty bad of Douglas.
Douglas Auto Body does great work and is good with customer service, but I am disgusted with the significant differences between the estimate repair time/cost and the actual repair time/cost. I know certain things come up, but double the cost and almost three times the length of time? Horrible.

This place is the only place that I trust with my car! I have a BMW and it is my "baby." Any time there is damage on my car I will bring my car here. Last time I had to replace my rear bumper and it only took them 2 days complete and it came out looking like new! The location itself is very nice. Doesn't look like a body shop in the waiting area. I have seen other places where the location is very dirty and unwelcoming but this is not one of them. They also work with the rental company nearby to pick you up and drop you off so if you need to drop off your car for repairs it's super easy. Highly recommended

I just recently had to do a claim and they are so stressful that usually take too much of your time to deal with but that is part of life Between Douglas and Farmers I could not have asked for anything better. I really mean it, Douglas not only does the work so well, as well as it is possible, they are on time, they give the car so clean and the office is so welcoming. All of the staff seems to be part of a big family and they all help each other out and that is why I always get my questions answered and also trust them with the car and everything in the process. After a long search in Los Angeles, I think I have found THE auto body shop. I will definitely be going back to these guys for all future auto body repairs and paint.
The paint on my car was recently vandalized (somebody keyed it) and I was very concerned about finding a body shop that would return the left side of my car to a new condition. I think I know something about auto paint -- I worked in a body shop in high school and I've got a relatively new, higher end German sedan with a fantastic factory paint job -- so I was paranoid about finding a shop that would do the best possible job.
I found Douglas after talking to my insurer, and getting quotes from three other shops on my own. Douglas was not the cheapest, but it was far from the most expensive. Douglas has great customer referrals, and they are a direct repairer for a few insurers.
I just picked up my car last week, and the finish is fantastic! Looks like glass and is very hard to tell from the original finish. I ended up paying for it myself, as it was only $300 more than my deductible. They were more than happy to give me the lower insurance rate even though I paid out of pocket.
Great quality work, great customer service -- I couldn't recommend these guys more highly.

My volvo V70 has got hit at the left fender, and they did a great job to replace the fender and make it look like new. I obtained a couple of quota from others, but this one looks reasonable. I was told they need 4 days to repair my car when I dropped off, on the third day I got phone call from the estimator that my car was ready to pick up. The final bill was exactly same as the estimation.
