Newell was a great help. Saved...

Newell was a great help. Saved me $1200 dollars in repairs! I brought my car in for a second opinion, a thumping noise in the front end. I was told it was probably the transmission from a former mechanic I have used for a long time. Turns out after test driving it Newell, the owner, found it to be my front TIRE!. What the heck??!! What a nice guy to take the time and he didn't even charge me anything. Thanks Newell for your honesty you saved me. :-)

I noticed a problem, they figured out what it was, gave me options and even suggested the cheaper fix as opposed to the most expensive, and still came out $1000 cheaper than the dealer. My 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan started having trouble getting into 1st gear, so I called Transmission Pros. They sent a friendly tow truck service out to tow my van in for free. Mike at Transmission Pros was extremely friendly and helpful. I ended up needing a transmission rebuild, but I feel like I was given a great deal. They completed the work a day early, and even sent someone to pick me up when I wasn't able to get a ride there to get my van. I should mention that they don't usually offer a pick up service, but they had a nice sales rep. girl in the office that day who was able to come get me since I wasn't far from the shop. They really went above and beyond by expectations in the customer service department. I feel they were honest, and they kept me informed every step of the way so that there were no surprises. Highly recommended!

Took my 2008 Honda Civic in for a clutch replacement (115,000 miles on original clutch). Newell was very helpful assisting us. They replaced my clutch with an oem clutch kit and also resurfaced my flywheel. After the install Newell showed me the wear and tear on the original clutch, you could tell it definitely needed to replaced (very worn down). They did the work within a very reasonable time frame and at a great cost in my opinion compared to many other places I called for the same work done. Definitely a place I will be going back to and would recommend to anyone looking for transmission work.

The way I see it an annual updated review of somewhere I frequent is a good idea.
To me, one of the hardest things we have to do in life is to find a mechanic that we trust and I feel so fortunate that I have done just that with Transmission Pros. Don't let the name fool you. They do, in fact, do a darn great job on transmissions, but this shop is full service. The owner Newell is a really good guy. He and his staff do quality work at affordable prices and after using him for the last five years, I really trust them.
I have had everything done from a rebuilt transmission to changing a headlight and right now, since I have a new car, they keep up on my scheduled maintenance. Newell is the kind of person that isn't going to gouge you. I've taken my car in to have something looked at and he'll do it and say, no problem, no charge. WOW. They also have gotten busier over the years, so I've learned to make an appointment now-a-days. But for my regular maintenance, I can hang out and they have me out of there in less than an hour.
I highly recommend these guys. I like that they are friendly and laid back, but also professional and get the job done. It's not that I want to make it harder for me to get in by keeping them busy, but I want to keep them in business by keeping them busy! I have never had a mechanic that I had such confidence in before and it's a really good feeling. If you are in Escondido, give 'em a try.

Checked my transmission and leveled with me on the cost. Let's be honest, a dead transmission is a financial nightmare. They waived the inspection fee and diesel, the shop dog, kept us company. If I wasn't already pretty handy with cars, I'd come here for their vehicle services. Despite me not going ahead with the repair, they understood completely and gave me advice on my failing transmission. Great place.

Hey guys though I would also share my experience, I have since had my truck back from getting the transmission fixed, it needed a whole rebuild and Transmission Pro's is by far the best in my opinion they get the job done so fast, at one point I thought I heard noise coming from the transmission, me and the owner of the shop both thought we heard it so he took it apart and rebuilt it all again turned out it was the catalytic convertors making noise lol, I needed something else to get fixed at the time but he only charged me for the new transmission cooler I had installed, talk about a great company that takes care of their customers.
Then recently I needed to pass smog and my check engine light was on and I had already spent a $1000 on replacement parts doing that work myself and still couldn't figure out why the trucks check engine light was coming on, well turns out the valves and the head was cracked so I needed the entire top end rebuilt, I had them take care of this as well they did a fantastic job no more check engine light and I'm on my way to smog :) thanks guys I will always bring my vehicles to you to work on

Towed my car, gave me the best deals, the very best service possible, and the cheapest options for getting a temporary replacement car. My timing belt broke and I had to replace a LOT of parts , but I felt so comfortable having Mathew and Richard helping me out. Went to ford to get my transmission looked at and was told i needed to replace my servo-bores and sleeves in my transmission, i took my car into transmission pros and come to find out my transmission was already rebuilt and my servo-bores and sleeves didn't even need to be replaced. Going to an auto mechanic is often like going to the doctor. No mater what people say, we never like to go.. But unfortunately we have no choice. Unless you want to take your friday night date on a romantic bus ride around town.
Taking into consideration that i still want my girlfriend to stick around, i set out to find a good transmission mechanic. My first stop was to ask around for a recommendation from friends (sorry yelp). I had two friends that gave glowing reviews about Transmission Pro's. So i decided to give them a shot. i had my car towed in. I spoke with the gentleman at the front desk, he indicated that he needed to put my car up on the rack and do a quick diagnosis. I was nervously awaiting and hopping that i didn't have to replace my transmission. thankfully, it was a simple cable that needed to be replaced and i was out in a few hours and a couple hundred bucks..
These guys are quick and efficient and honest. What else do you need?

These guys are great , I've own a couple of cars my first experience with them my Focus tranny was slipping , 2 other places claimed I needed a rebuild $ 2500 !! Newell made they repairs and fixed it for $125 no problems for over @ 2 years Then my F-250 Diesel had a tranny rebuilt in Escondido for $ 4000 , the front seal started leaking went they wanted another $ 1200 after the warranty expired 2 months after the date only 1500 miles would not give me a break again Transmission Pros made repairs & a rear engine seal for only $ 825 wow !! they done other maintenance work on all my vehicles for the last 4 years , just got the F-250 back again for another issue they told me about last time I was in . In early 2012 I took my truck to Lucky Tranmission on East Valley Parkway, paid a fortune to have my transmission rebuilt, 13 months later the transmission went out again. I took my truck to Newell at Transmission Pros, he rebuilt my transmission for less than Lucky and mentioned that Lucky did not rebuild my transmission, merely patched a few things and sent me on my way, resulting in the transmission going out again 13 months later. Newell and his team are awesome and nice guys. I recommend Transmission Pros if you need automotive work!
